I recently met with a local realtor who was interested in selling his realty business.
He wanted 80k for the business. Fine.
While I'm not willing to go out and show houses to people, I'm perfectly interested in looking at the business opportunity.
If the numbers work I am perfectly willing to buy any business.
The problem with the realty business?
The problem is that the realtor is the business.
Without him doing the work there is no revenue. Without revenue there is no business.
You couldn't buy his business today and have money coming in tomorrow. You'd have to go out and find new business to make money.
If someone were to purchase his business they would essentially be starting out as a brand new realtor and they'd be in the hole 80k.
Then they'd have to go out and cold call and knock on doors to start digging themselves out of that $80,000 hole.
Freelancer vs Business Owner
Without revenue there is no business and the realty business wasn't a real business.
The owner was essentially a freelancer, getting paid when he got clients to sign and not getting paid when no one signed.
He should have taken steps to outsource the work to employees. He should have had systems in place to make money when he was not around.
Instead, he worked as a sole proprietor for ten years. He made enough money to buy a house in Australia, but he didn't take steps to make his realty freelancing a real business.
Now he's in the position of having worked on this gig for ten years and no one will buy it because there's nothing to buy.
Businesses should be scalable and saleable
His realty business was nothing more than some phone numbers and connections, but phone numbers and introductions aren't worth $80,000.
Only a system that can make money for anyone is worth 80k.
So the realtor is stuck with his non-business.
Contrast that realty non-business with the business of B&D;
If one were to purchase B&D; today (not for sale) he would have immediate income tomorrow and next week and next month.
Money always come in, no matter what else happens, because I put systems in place to make sure money comes in.
Even if I died tomorrow, B&D; would still make money. The systems are already in place. The work is already done.
Example: I recently broke my hand in two places.
It was broken so bad that I had to have surgery to put pins in my hand. After the surgery I had to wear a cast for four weeks.
In total, my hand was useless for eight weeks.
I couldn't go to the gym, I couldn't type, I couldn't ride my motorbike, I couldn't do much of anything that I enjoy doing.
Since I didn't write I must have lost income right?
Wrong.
The two months I was out of commission were the fiscally best months B&D; has ever had.
Why is that? How did the business make money when I didn't appear to do any work?
The magic of residual income
I don't like the term passive income - I never made money passively - the term residual income fits much better.
You do the work once, then you get paid for it residually - as long as the work is good.
Like a songwriter who writes a hit song or an author who writes a hit book.
They do the actual work one time, then they get paid for it for however long people want to buy it.
There's nothing passive about creating
The songwriter and book author didn't make that money passively, they actively wrote the song or book, then they got paid residually.
And that's how I got paid while I didn't appear to work.
Speaking of not appearing to work…
The myth of struggle
A lot of people have asked me about my struggles to make a nothing into a something.
I don't particularly enjoy reading or writing about struggle, so I don't.
The reality is that I haven't struggled at all. For me, in fact, it was easy to make Bold and Determined a success.
That's what I keep saying over and over and over again…
It's not hard to do what I do!
It's much harder to work some job you hate for a paycheck that leaves you scraping by.
My life is phenomenally easy compared to any Average Joe working his average job.
I often romanticize the fact that I didn't make money for over a year.
It's true, I didn't make a dime for over a year. But let me tell you two things…
- That year wasn't hard at all. It was one of the best years of my life.
- I didn't try to make money for a year. I knew it would come eventually so I just concentrated on building an audience. A year later, when I tried to make money, I did make money.
I know it will hurt some feelings to hear that it was super-easy for me, but I've never been bothered by hurting feelings.
It's much worse to hear successful people lie about “the struggle”
When you hear the lies about struggling your mind is tricked into thinking that since you're struggling you're on the right path.
Wrong.
When you're on the right path it will be easy. It's only when you're on the wrong path that it's hard.
Whatever you were meant do, IF you were meant to do anything, will be easy. That's the cold, hard reality.
If you live a pathetic life you don't have the right to complain about struggle because you and you alone have the ability to change your life.
If you don't change it, that's your fault. If you're struggling it's your own fault.
You, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you.
Not me, not him, not her, not that corporation, not the government…
If your life is a struggle, you are the problem.
It might just be that you aren't smart enough or talented enough to make it
..or it might be that you aren't trying.
Whichever it is, you get what you deserve.
It's very easy for me to make money, it's not hard at all.
People HATE to hear that but I don't care.
Haters can hate all they want but if life is a struggle, it's your duty to fix it.
Most people won't fix it and I don't care in the slightest.
If you don't want to fix it I won't offer a helping hand.
It's an inevitablity of success that the lower classes first worship you then turn on you.
Which brings me to…
Making Money Hurts People's Feelings
YouTube has become extremely successful by giving a voice to the voiceless.
The comments section on youtube gives anyone who has internet access a chance to voice their opinion.
That sounds great in theory but the reality is that most people are small, petty and silly and we don't need to hear their silly opinions.
YouTube commenters are probably a perfect representation of normal people and I see two trends among YouTube commenters/normal people.
The first trend is this…
- Anyone who makes money is greedy and a piece of shit.
- Anyone who is poor should be given money.
Huh?
That's right. Making money is evil and you should give poor people money (even though it's evil).
The 2nd trend I see among YouTube commenters is this…
They have poor english skills, poor writing abilities, and poor comprehension.
The average comment length is one to three sentences but they're often impossible to read.
People who can't even take the time to use capitalization and punctuation certainly don't have the attention span (or the will) to master a money-making skill.
Commenters with readable english often have different ideas about money…
But listen boys, here's the facts of life…
If poor people wanted to make money they would.
Poor and stupid can be used interchangeably.
But even stupid people can make money.
To find those YouTube comments I typed “Floyd Mayweather Money” in the search bar and clicked on two videos.
Floyd Mayweather Jr. is a rich and famous boxer who inspires jealously, hatred and envy in ordinary people. It only took a few moments to find some jealous comments on his YouTube videos.
The funny thing?
Floyd Mayweather can barely read but he's rich and famous.
If someone who can't even read can make money, what does that mean for smart people who are broke…
Anyone who wants to make money, makes money
If making money is a priority to you, you will make it.
If you don't make money it's because you don't want to.
In reality, losers don't want to make money, they want to be given money.
I know that hurts to hear, but that's what tough love is.
You can hear lies to feel better, or you can hear the truth to get better.
Only a loser is mad at the truth of the world.
A winner can hear the truth, accept the truth, internalize the truth, and then they can become something.
It is what it is - so make it work for you
I keep telling you, I'm not so special that only I can make a living being me.
You can do it too, if you want to.
I know people will tell you it's impossible, but what are you looking for from them?
Permission?
You have my express permission to not require permission. OK?
But if you actually need permission you don't belong in the big leagues and you don't deserve success and freedom.
So stop pretending.

No, no. Modafinil does not exist in Vietnam.
Here’s the idea:
You always recommend lifting weights to your readers. But that is not the only way to build strength and muscle. Many guys are really into gymnastics, calisthenics and freerunning. These are actually more in accordance with spartan lifestyle because they don’t require any equipment or gym memberships. So, I think you can create a whole new section under fitness category and post things about calisthenics. Or you can hire me to write posts about that as I’m really passionate about it. In those posts we can review various calisthenics programs and earn the commissions.
Let me take that one step further: Adrafinil
In a nutshell, adrafinil metabolizes in modafinil after you swallow it. The effect is exactly the same, it just takes an extra few minutes to achieve.
However, legally speaking:
- Modafinil is currently classified as a Schedule IV controlled substance under United States federal law; it is illegal to import by anyone other than a DEA-registered importer without a prescription.
- In the United States, adrafinil is currently unregulated. Unlike modafinil, it is not a controlled substance even though the medical effects are essentially the same.
I’ve bought modafinil from India before, but if B&D is looking for a completely legal alternative then Adrafinil might be the way to go
Not to be a dick but relabeling a drug is highly illegal. Like federal offense illegal. Ran a supplement company for a while and you have to be up front on exactly what is in the bottle because people are ingesting it and if someone gets sick, you are screwed big time.
To get more subscribers have an incentive program for current subscribers to get their buddies to subscribe to Bold and Determined. An example: 3 subscribers recruited under their name gives access to elite articles, 6 gives access to special podcasts, music, etc. Hell, maybe a t shirt for 100 subscribers brought in to get them really pumping. You should run a T-Shirt design or slogan contest. The best slogan, or image, or artist design wins.
The stipulation, you must either be an artist that can do the work yourself, or a blogger that has a respectable site, or jacked for slogans.
You pick the winner.
The winner gets 50% of the net with you. You get exclusive rights to market that product for the 18 months or whatever you think is a good exclusive window.
Bonus item: Do mugs with these designs you have. I could see myself using a spartan mug as I start my day.

Phenomenal post. Incredibly inspiring as always.
I have two ideas:
1) Translate Bold & Determined into other languages. Tap into new marketplaces. Men are hungry for this writing in Japan, Spain, Germany, Russia, everywhere in fact. When a book does well in English, what is the next logical step for publishers? It’s always translating it and making it a global success.
2) Run a marketing competition whereby you issue the challenge of making the best video or article review of either of your books. The one that brings in the most profit, wins an extra reward on top of the affiliate money (this could be anything from an internship to compiling the website into a hardcopy and so on).
I will keep thinking about this but I think implementing both of those ideas would have a very positive effect for Bold & Determined.

And for you, Victor: What about a professionally conceptualized and designed “market survey” concerning business, weights & nutrition and how it relates to B&D?
Working in pharma marketing, where you adress doctors by means which are different from “normal customers”, I can tell you that surveys offer some great benefits:
1) You get a lot of information from the market segment, which is most relevant to you, by asking very specific questions. And you can use this info in turn for new business ideas.
2) People remember you and your messages much more when the info exchange is bi-directional: When people only read, they quickly forget. When the read, think and write about things, the info sticks in their head much longer. (E.g. when we ask doctors to rank the specified advantages of a given product, we know firstly, which messages to use for communication and secondly, and much more important, just by thinking about the various advantages of a product, the doctors internalize them)
3) It’s a very good trap for newcomers. People taking the survey will hang around as long as the survey takes and this also increases the possibility of them staying longer after finishing the survey, reading your other content.
4) People LOVE to learn stuff about themselves, so a combination of gathering information about them and telling them somethin about themselves in return is a satisfying experience.
Victor, if you want to make your blog more profitable, simply charge more for the product you provide.
This idea isn’t going to win.

It’s not my idea, but in terms of improving opt-ins and conversion rates, having a dedicated home landing page has worked well for a number of already successful people to improve their conversions.
This is something you could implement within 24 hours that would have a testable and possibly significant positive impact on your revenues.

I haven’t used this yet personally as I don’t think it will become important till my site is significantly bigger - I’m not well known enough to take advantage of it. But you are.
That doesn’t work for B&D. The blog is where the business comes from, the newsletter is not the main focus. It isn’t a bad idea, it just doesn’t work in this situation.
An app exclusively for B&D members. They can read your blog through the app and get updates about new posts. And they can purchase Spartan merchandise. T-shirts, mugs, shoes, caps, Spartan gym equipment (gloves, dumbbells, etc.), and so on.
Have an app already, waiting for the iTunes developer application to go through.
Is there an Android version in the works?

Hi Victor, I have been following you for a long time (since the beginning actually) and this is my first post, because who in his right mind would pass on this challenge? Anyway, here is my idea : I think you should do an online course on discipline. It’s a one time payment and it’s residual income. I’m building my website and this is what I will offer. Thanks for the inspiration, every post is a gold mine.

Have an accountability app for 30DOD built for smartphones. It would be easier to use and more accessible than the spreadsheet you have now. You could outsource the work if you don’t want to build it and charge for the app or build in some sort of fee structure. Most people have their phones on them constantly and updating an excel spreadsheet is more cumbersome. You could also build in workouts from Body of a Spartan. I personally have purchased both of these and love the content, but simple phone access would make it that much better.

You’ve got a great network of products, you create trust and sell with your authenticity, and you seem to have the backend system that automates everything perfectly.
I could give you more ideas for things to sell, but I’d like to share more of a technical tip and something I’ve recently just implemented to my own eCommerce site that could help you sell what you already have a little more:
Have your web guys switch B&D, BOAS, BADNET, 30DOD and whatever else you do to HTTPS
(I notice your checkout pages are already HTTPS, which is great, but I think you could benefit from having it sitewide too)
In short, it’s a security thing:
…but I think the true benefits of this come from how it better helps people perceive your website at first glance:
Most sites aren’t HTTPS, so it’s a professional way to stand out further from amateurs.
When I go to BADNET in my browser, I would clearly trust you to build me a website when I see this in my URL bar. Mobile users see a “lock” icon.
Ever try visiting a site over coffee shop or shaky wifi? This should help you avoid this kind of nasty error message.
And as a bonus: Google even says this helps improve search rankings.
Like I said, I just implemented SSL/HTTPS to my own site so I have no “data” for you on how it could actually improve your sales. But as far as setting up a professional website and creating a more secure eCommerce environment, having an SSL certificate / HTTPS are absolute musts.

Someone beat me to it but I agree that providing the bold and determined content in more languages would be a very effective way of making the site more profitable. It was the first thing that popped into my mind. Translating all of your work would only take a one time investment from you and has the possibility of easy residual income. I’ve noticed from the comments on other posts that you have a lot of fans from Europe I would definitely start there. If I get a Better idea I’ll come back and post it.
I know from your blog that you’re a fan of affiliate marketing- but only if you actually use the product (which is respectable). You mention movies that you like (The Godfather, Rocky, Predator)- why not have links to purchase these fine films as DVD’s or downloads? It seems Netflix, Amazon, or the like would see the mutual benefits of such an arrangement.
Option 2: Offer cheap orchiectomies for all your readers who fantasize about being an alpha wolf but don’t actually follow your advice. They’ve already stopped using their balls- might as well remove them.

“Solar System.” It is literally the first thing you see when you click on boldanddetermined.com, and at that page, whatever “planet” you click on takes you to its respective webpage. Not exactly an idea to increase profit directly, but thereby making the site more immediately visually appealing.
It can be done in animation form, and at the hover of the mouse over each planet can have some sort of a description about each site.
For example: Hover over 30 Days of Discipline:
“Go here to learn how to be a man.”
Body of a Spartan: “Go here to get ripped.”
Etc., etc.
The idea is just a visually pleasing landing page that catches the visitor’s attention instantly, rather than to see just the text of the latest blog post, because B&D is now more than just a single piece.

BADnet has a target demographic - young men, generally those in the audience known as the manosphere today. This demographic determines the size and scope of audience, and all that entails. However, much of the information is of value to people far beyond this target demographic. Consider “Think and Grow Rich”, a set of wisdom for all people to follow as an example.
The suggestion is a multi-branding approach of existing content, with each brand universe targeting a different demographic. This could lead to a franchising of the business - say a BADnet rebranding targeting professional women in business as the base foundation, with vetted female writers providing further content towards that demographic.
This turns BADnet into an institution, and is among the most successful business approaches online for content publishers. It scales in multiple dimensions.
Much more can be said here, but there’s only so much space for the idea. If this interests you, would love to discuss further as to how to make this happen.

You recommend people to buy various supplements, medicines and workout equipment. Why not import medicine from country where they are cheap and resell them at higher prices. For example you can import Modafinil at very cheap prices from India, Also various supplements can brought at cheap in China. So you can sell your own imported product rather than affiliate marketing for which you receive a very small percentage of profit. If you import it yourself and sell it on your website you can reap the entire profit.
You need a pharmacy license to do this. You don’t just buy medicine and resell it.
This would work if you found someone with a pharmacy license? If the idea interests you of course…

As far as I am aware, you don’t send exclusive posts to your subscribers. Start doing this. I am not suggesting you ‘write more’; it would actually be of benefit to you if you employ this strategy sparingly. Nevertheless, encourage readers to subscribe using more subtle suggestions.
Life is about balance and so is this blog; it can be taken to the next level by employing certain strategies regarding balance. You are already familiar with the yang aspect but in regards to your yin side, i would suggest you display it some more. When you do make new videos, show a more personal or intimate side. I’m convinced you still have somewhat of a shield around you and are not completely ‘naked’, metaphorically speaking. One of your friends, I would rather not give his name, is somewhat more naked and i dont even know if your blog is doing better than his or vice versa, however, for you, showing the more ‘vulnerable’ side of Victor Pride will add to your success.
I know that you play guitar, work this into your presentations somehow. I’m not sure what other skills you have, but i know you’re an artistic human being and you can do more than lift weights and write great stuff. So show it.

It is rather easy and I myself am setting up such a site which allows my customer to buy a domain from an affiliate link and choose their WordPress theme(which they buy and I obviously get a cut for each sale), they enter all the required information and certain script setup the WordPress Blog accordingly. Have someone else take the risk and put in the effort of running the store(s) and you collect a royalty for having your business name plastered on the front. Naturally, all franchise owners would have to be respectable and credible people in order to keep them from tarnishing your name.

My idea would be the re-purpose some of your existing content into a free email course and then try to distribute it into an area where you think you could be stronger, but are not at the moment (e.g. PUA community, business community, etc). Maybe you’d do some small edits to package it up nicely.
This could be something like a 7-day course or a 12-part course, where you slowly but surely introduce the new signup/reader to your content. That way the lead is already warmed up and knows about you and your content.
At the end you’d provide him with a strong call to action to one of your programs. The important part here is that the program closes the bridge to a solution you mentioned in the course but didn’t entirely solve or only talked about on the surface.

I took 15 podcast episodes and turned it into a course about learning how to podcast with successful podcasters.

I basically did something sneaky. I completed my courses and then shared free coupons all over the black hat forums full of course leechers, this creates a huge perception that my courses are popular to others who find my courses through Udemy ads and promotions or by just browsing the site.
Some of my courses even get hits from Google, last month one course got almost 1500 visitors in total with none of my own promotion.
Now I have 5 courses each with 1500-2500 members, tons of positive reviews etc.. I’ve earned over $2000 without doing any promotion besides sharing my courses on my FB wall and doing that coupon sharing on 1 forum.
Most courses I also created in 1-2 days, I took an idea and sat down on a Sunday and recorded the whole course in a day.

If your content isn’t on the sites with the most traffic in the world, why would Google give you any weight?
I paid a tremendous amount of money for tutoring from men that make 2 million per year by harnessing the power of search. One of these men took the time to study the Google patents. With this knowledge, the world belongs to him.
And it can be yours too.

1.) I love listening to Eric Thomas and other motivational speakers because it keeps me going in moments when I’m down(no mental masturbating) and since you have this killer way of motivating people and this deep voice I bet you could make a kick ass mp3 file and put it up on B&D like a motivational speech. You could make like four 10 minute part series for 10$ or maybe even more advanced you could make a story out of it. For example from zero to one or something which would be a package with videos for someone just starting out. Like for instance if you gave this video package to some timid bum it would boost his confidence to believe in himself and give him some pointers to a better life(blog->bednet->money, better body->BOAS->money, etc.) I don’t know I made this up while writing.
2.) I love B&D because it helped me so much but I haven’t told any of my friends in like 3 years about it. I don’t know why but I guess more people are like me. And also I know a lot of guys on the fastlane forum that would love your stuff as well as guys in poker community but I just don’t tell them even though it would be so easy. Hey, check out B&D, it helped me a lot and since we have similar goals and thinking processes it might help you. That’s it. Now I might have a solution for you to encourage cowards like me to tell more friends about it. Sounds complicated and I haven’t think it through since I’ve just come up with it but you could share a link that we could send our friends to view your site and as we brought more and more traffic we could get some points or something in B&D store. Create a series of very short weekly autoresponders to BAD email subscribers with links to 200-400 word blog posts on VictorPride.com.
In these blog posts you discuss your most important thoughts on a topic, for example, making money through blogging and then put a link to BADNET in the bottom.
Alternatively, you can discuss fitness thoughts and link to BOAS.
For an example of a short post, click on the link on my handle “Oskar @ SkinnyFatTransformation.com”
These posts work because they are so short that busy people will have the time to skim through them, get intrigued and then there’s a call to action in the bottom that doesn’t look like your typical email marketer scam link.

Here is my way to increase your traffic and therefore your revenue. I am not speaking about increasing it a little bit. If you can do what I tell you, and you do it, you will at least duplicate them.
The concept is very easy: find someone on youtube with a ton of subscribers, someone with whom you would associate. Looking at your content Elliott Hulse would be a good guess. You have good traffic and excellent content, if you play it good he could accept to make a video with you. But Elliott is not easy to get in contact with. Successful people do not associate with whoever, but you are not an average Joe: I think you should at least try and maybe found someone else. There are a lot of easier youtubers to get in contact with, many with a lot of subscribers within the fitness/strenght training/bodybuilding category.
I saw you got in contact with some minor youtuber like Mike and the owner of goodlokinglooser, but it is not even remotely the same thing.
Another idea that came to me is this (I do not think you have tried it yet): sell your two ebooks in a bundle for about 15$; if usually people buy only one of them it should work. I bought “30 days of discipline”, but I will not buy “Body of a spartan”. If I could have bought both for 15$, I surely would have!

8. BADwear range for wives or girlfriends of BADreaders. This is a no brainer, Guys like seeing their princesses dress up in cute vests/ tees/cutoffs. Plus you get to have cute chicks (be selective) wearing your clothing range, that’s promotional merchandise right there.
Risk: Low to None. As i said, its a no brainer.
11. BADstarter. Essentially kickstarter or indiegogo for Bold and determined readers. People come up with an idea, put it up. Men vote with their wallets, and if it gets the necessary funding and traction, they get a business out of it. You take a 10-20% cut for hosting their gig on your site. Make it better than indiegogo which allows people to keep the money even if they fail their target. You want to discourage the scam artists and encourage the idea men who don’t have enough capital to raise on their own.
Risk: Medium to High. You have to be careful about scam artists, using your site as an opportunity to make fast money and cut and run. Unfortunately their reputation would translate back to the site as well. Good people, Good Rep, Good site = more profits. And vice versa.
BADSTARTER is a very interesting idea. That’s something I would not have thought of, ever.

Have people get votes/likes on your website just to make the contest, Have them submit updates and have people vote on the updates / process
A few simple widgets on the pages will lead to lots of new followers of the blog and sales of the products the people are using. This strategy is a proven winner for very similar markets.
You can set this up in minutes… or at least hire someone to set it up for you in minutes.
Basically all it will cost you is whatever you want to give away
A transformation contest is something I have been meddling with since November 2012. Eventually I’ll get around to it.

1/ You make your blog translated in other languages.
2/ If you don’t already, hire a marketing agent to get him/her find ways to get mass media talk about your blog (positively). Your agent will seek even more affiliates, try to make B&D become partner with other good blogs/forums about bodybuilding, extreme sport, motivation … so that they will hear about you.The same with social media, and why not eventually become a sponsor -sport competitions for instance…
3/ Having someone to write a (very good and truthful) FREE ebook about motivation, success and even seduction (see GLL : no bullshit concrete advice) which will be spread into many many forums about bodybuilding, motivation of all kinds and others about pua shit -there are a lot of this.
Of course in the ebook the person will sing the praise of B&D, how helpful this is, its affiliates, modafinil, kratom etc…
That’ll bring people here.
4/ Give money to one big or several assocations/groups (medical fundraiser, sport competitions etc.) that will eventually say “thanks to B&D for its help (…) check the website…”
And yeah, let other do the work for you by making contests.

If I was in your place, I would be bored to write blog posts on the same subject during years and years. From one side I would feel happy to have helped so many people, but I would also feel “empty” as well: I imagine it is hard to find inspiration now…
I would hire a guy somewhere in the world and I would let him write the next posts in order to keep this site alive and keep the gains.
I will take an holiday and then I will start a brand new project (not necessarily a blog) from scratch. I will do a crowfunding page or search for venture capitalist, using boldanddetermined as a good leadership example.
I know I am not replying to your challenge, but I am not that good with new ideas, I am good with strategies and implementation.

I think there’s a market for men’s care products (shaving cream, cologne, etc.) that are promoted as enhancing or at least not damaging testosterone levels. I know I’ve been slowly replacing all my skin care with natural products, to avoid the hit to my endocrine system. But I haven’t seen anyone really _marketing_ the products this way. With your B&D media platform you are perfectly positioned to market this. The products need to be top quality (I currently use mostly Kiehl’s & Art of Shaving). AXE seems amateurish and not really health-oriented.
How about Bold and Determined chapters/groups around the world. Like a band of brothers, meet regularly to be bold and determined in the community, to encourage one another to take action, do 30DD or Body of a spartan. It could culminate in a B&D conference or gathering of some sort to share success , get the latest from Victor or other people at the top of their game in their respective field of expertise.

Sell gym memberships on commissions. Work something out with big gyms that have A reach everywhere. I’m pretty sure it can be done.You have audience. you can sign them all up at once to impress big gym.
This is only half. You can start something big with this, but I’ll keep that to myself.
You can also have page of things everyone needs for the gym. Don’t crowd the page, It’s for people to discover something they didn’t know. Needs pictures. Explain when they clicked already. Curiosity helps.

B & D Conference
Plenty of people we know already do this very effectively. The 21 Convention (who I work for) has been doing this for the last 9 years and has built up a massive business because of it.
You can bring in Mike from D & P and Chris from GLL as speakers. Each of you can do a two-hour talk (90 minutes for the speech and 30 minutes for Q & A).
It can be a one-day event with a ticket price of $299.
A large majority of your audience is young men who can find $299 for something like this and you’ll profit on selling a large number of tickets.
From my experience, you can get at least 200 guys to come to your conference.
If you do it in SE Asia, you can also save massively on typical conference costs like the event room.
This idea has the potential to bring you upwards of $40k, if not more.
We worked this out on a beach in Nha Trang. Los Angeles, Vegas, Chicago, Dallas, New York. We’ll see.

I notice that you are using YouTube for your videos. Something better than YouTube is to use your own video service. What I recommended for Mike, was to use Wistia.
I did a quick search for one of your YouTube videos “A Quick Tip to Beat Procrastination Forever” and it ranks #1 in google. However, all the other results are no-name websites. In addition, there isn’t any info linking back to “B&D” once the person finds your video page.
When I type in “Success Rebel” into google, your YouTube video comes up first as #1.
If you were to use Wistia, you would avoid this problem. Your blog should be #1 for this and not the YouTube page which doesn’t link back to your blog.
You may think that simply embeding YouTube videos into yoru blog post will solve this problem, but what your actually doing is giving the YouTube video page credit.
Wisita videos also look more professional and you can customize it, un-like the crap YouTube player.
You can also capture e-mails after the video is done playing. Lot’s of people use it for their sales pages, yours could benefit by using it.
Finally, I noticed your site doesn’t use Cloudflare (free), I would look into using it, to filter out spam, and to secure your site more.
Stickers. People love stickers. Stickers for autos, laptops, water bottles, you name it, are all mobile advertisements. They are very affordable to produce. They put your name out there in the general public every where they go. As far as the auto stickers go, bumper stickers are one thing, but modern day you see big windshield stickers plastered across the top in the tinted area.

Great post here, I enjoyed the comparison of your blog and website properties vs. an entirely different business model. Being an entrepreneur allowed you to continue to drive revenue even while you were out of commission for a couple of months, awesome stuff!
I really enjoyed the 30 days of discipline program. As you know I even made a podcast and an entire blog dedicated to the program. I laugh a little inside because if I put the effort into a program like you did instead of blogging about yours I probably could have made a pretty kickass program myself and made more money that way!
Well anyway here is my idea:
I would come up with another program similar to this, the difference being that it would focus more on sacrifice vs. being mostly disciplined. Call it the “30 days of sacrifice” or maybe 60 / 90 days instead. The tagline could include something along the lines of achieving more success and becoming an entrepreneur.
Some ideas:
-Make the program geared towards specific goals for people to start achieving success with a blog, easily tied into BADNET. Your new eBook covers a lot of this but it’s a long read with tons of ideas to take action with. I find that content like that is harder to take action when you don’t have a plan in place. I’d want it laid out with action steps of what to do each day or week, month etc.
-Include sacrifices like video games and alcohol, partying etc. I added these to the 30 days of discipline and I think if I didn’t I would have failed miserably.
-Think of other things people do on a daily basis that is basically a waste of time, things that don’t lead people to success. Another example of sacrifice would be no TV during the program, I know that’s huge for a lot of people.
-During the program they must follow a specific set of steps to improve their life while sacrificing those things that hinder them and hold them back from success. Maybe it’s as simple as consuming lots of water, taking a multi-vitamin, going for a brisk 15 minute jog daily etc.
-Involve eating healthy and other home gym workouts in some way shape or form, it does not need to be extreme like body of a spartan but perhaps ways they can integrate more of an even balance for long term results. Mix it up more vs the 3 exercises x100.
-Make a big part of the program dedicated to focus, in 30 days you just mentioned setting goals and it was very broad with no real ideas. Give people an idea of what they can work towards, even if they don’t make X amount of dollars after X days of a program I can see a lot of people having an overall better sense of life and their future if they stay on this path of doing positive things daily to strive towards success, convert people into full blown entrepreneurs.
-Create a system, or website where people can communicate about progress (Forum of sorts), sacrifices they have made and maybe a tracker that is online (not a simple PDF check list) but a full blown community/tracking system to guide people through progress. People can watch each others progress, encourage others etc.
-Involve the community more, maybe people can invent their own ideas for the program, make it a pole or vote. Hit up your current email list of 30 days of discipline buyers and get a vote for what should be part of the program.
-Feature members who achieve success with the program on B&D (Or new community site), award recognition, prizes, etc.
-Ditch e-Junkie, I felt like a prick emailing you about commission payouts because I had no clue how your payouts worked (Thank you for the payment finally!). Switch to something like Jvzoo, offer the 75% or whatever and just let that platform handle it all with Paypal instantly. I’ve done over 20k in sales with the platform and wouldn’t touch another system, it’s ease of use and ability to work with systems like Wishlist member, GetResponse etc. make it a no brainer. You could also offer prizes to your best affiliates encouraging program growth overall.
Well hopefully you like my idea, I have built several membership sites and would be glad to help where needed if you decide to take me up on my idea.
I mention focus because I started up an SEO business for insurance companies and it’s been picking up for me, got a partner on board and everything. I’d love to build a blog like B&D on the side but if I jump into all these different things I won’t get anywhere, I think this program should really help people understand that. I have spent years trying to do tons of different things, most projects only work when I really sink tons of time into them, nothing will be an overnight success story and that’s why I’m sticking with this business I got going. Great article ( as usual ) but here’s a small point. I used to make these kinds of assumptions/generalizations about stranger’s comments: “People who can’t even take the time to use capitalization and punctuation certainly don’t have the attention span (or the will) to master a money-making skill.” Then one day I met a Kung Fu master who frequently wrote without capitalization or punctuation. I have no idea why he chose to write that way ( and I still dont ), but he certainly had plenty of will and a rock solid attention span. While I absolutely see what you’re getting at, the truth is we never know who someone is on the internet, what their background is or what skills they may possess. Not everyone does things the same way ( or follows the writing ‘rules’ ) and to make an leap or an assumption about someone’s character based on their writing style can backfire on us. If there are a lot people are interested in living like you, then there are also a lot of people interested in living where you live as well. The process of relocating to a different country might be a confusing process though, “What’s the best way to find a place to live? Where are the best places to eat, buy clothing or do banking? If I wanted to research or find places to live in Thailand for example, I would find value in a website/service that helps me do exactly that.
The idea is a directory, your revenue model could either be charging monthly subscriptions to business listed on the site, charging users a small monthly fee for browsing, (you could implement a system like loopnet uses, where a user can only see one page of listings), or you could charge the businesses a fee per lead. Growing a directory can be hard since it’s a two sided market but you have a couple advantages. Depending on where you are living now, you probably have convenient access to the local businesses, real estate brokers, services etc.. You also have a pretty big mailing list of an audience that more than likely would find value in the site.
It’s scalable, saleable and can be a source of residual income. A site like this could easily be built on wordpress as well.
Your brand is already built, it is carved out of stone just like your ideologies. The purpose behind shirts, mugs and all other items is advertisement. So what is the next step in spreading the BaD brand?
My idea is sponsorship. BaD should sponsor someone who represents the brand to the fullest. Sponsoring a MMA fighter would not only represent your brand, but also expand the awareness of the brand. With one event your brand could be viewed by thousands of people. Huge margins for ROI.
I have been looking for an MMA fighter to sponsor for a while actually.
I have a few, some of them I’m going to implement myself when I start my own site.
1. There is various text to speech software available, what I’m going to be doing rather than occasional podcasts is; I’m going to be running every blog post through a text to speech program so I will have audio for every blog post on my site.
Pro: People can download and take an audio copy of the blog with them wherever they wish.
Con: It isn’t your personal voice in the audio.
2. You could turn 30DOD and Body of a Spartan into video courses and put them on udemy.com
I’m not sure how many people would want a video series on the books, but I wouldn’t mind betting there will be a few.
Pro: A new revenue stream, may also tap more people who do not like reading (like the audio book idea above) but you could do it in different ways, you could either do powerpoint type videos, or personally record yourself giving the course, or just use your voiceover on some cool inspirational videos.
Con: Udemy quite often gives courses away for free via coupons, coupons are sometimes used to give out discounts too. I haven’t looked into what controls publishers have over this yet though. I’m putting together a course to sell on there myself.
3. Put together a book about day to day living in Vietnam (or any foreign country for that matter), I want to know more about moving to and living in Asia and there isn’t really that much out there that gives you all the gritty details in one book. How much is food? “cheap” isn’t a numerical number, where to rent? etc. etc. All the stuff people don’t think about.
I read too many blogs by people who go travelling that do nothing but say things like; “check out this and that place, the food is cheap, the weather is great and you can rent a place for $500 per month”, great! but! What ways are there to make money? Where do you go shopping? Ever had the shits after eating something from the street vendors? How much is a taxi ride? What banks are there?…. and all those little things most travel bloggers seem to completely forget about.
If I have any more, I’ll be sure to add them.

Not to say that your writing style or mode of expression is bad (I enjoy it), but you could reach a broader range of people. The same idea can be expressed in many different ways. Some people can’t interpret ideas correctly if they are expressed in a certain way.
Having someone who understands your mindset and is on the same page as you, but who expresses themselves about those ideas in a different way than you do could be beneficial to expanding your audience (while still maintaining the integrity of the readership).
You’d still provide the ideas and write the articles, but the editor would come up with new ways of expressing or clarifying those core ideas. And re-reading your own ideas from a different perspective might give you new incites that you could further synthesize into your posts. It would help your creativity too.

I don’t have a great business idea but I do want to give you some feedback on the clothing line. And I couldn’t agree with you more, criticism is great! Sometimes the truth hurts but it only leads to growth.
Like several other vloggers (e.g. strengthcamp, hodge twins, brosciencelife etc.) you’ve got your “brand” going and a T-shirt/clothing line is common sense to bring in an extra few bucks. But yours suck.. Actually all of the aforementioned suck. Hodge twins are the closest to making clothing I’d actually wear.
Your shirts look like some bullshit I could pick up at a gas station 2 for 15. Or maybe in the San Diego zoo gift shop. They look cheap and the design is terrible. You have a great brand and overall attitude but pictures of lions and shit just don’t portray it well. Not an accurate expression at all.
A couple things, get the higher quality, slim fit shirts that fit younger men like myself would be proud to wear out on the town as well as to the gym. Quicksilver started using bullshit, cheap, ill-fitting shirts and I’m fuckin done with them.
Next, step up the design. The font, the colors, the font size and location. Maybe some small print on sleeve or ribs of the shirts. Yours look like you bought some stencils at Walmart and spraypainted them on.
Honestly, I want to buy a shirt(s) from your store. I really do. But there’s not a god damn thing I would wear. You already have a solid fan base and following but you could be capitalizing much more in the tsgirt/clothing dept if you’d just step it up a little. The current design is not an accurate portrayal of your brand. Just bullshit slogans like “Hero Fuckin Stallion” I think would sell.. Or “All-American Powerhouse”. Well, granted they were written in the correct font, size, and location on the shirts. And had better graphic choices on a good quality shirt. I’d play the premium for a shirt that I’d actually wear.
Hoodies too. Who doesn’t want a bad ass hoodie?

My idea stems from the same concept of Kahn Academy. Kahn Academy covers every school subject from elementary to post grad levels. I visit their site frequently and while they do cover “school subjects”, I don’t see why you can’t do the same with your vast knowledge of fitness, lifestyle, business, etc. I believe people are more visual learners and thinkers anyway. I would personally learn better the “Kahn” way than from blogs but that’s just me.
Like any other business, Kahn started small by posting one video/presentation/lesson at a time and has now grown into a go-to source for that kind of information. It is obvious that your blog covers such a wide range of topics too (than Kahn never covers) that I feel that this type of concept can work.
If I’m not mistaken you have 4 websites that are under the “Bold and Determined” umbrella. By slowly transitioning to an “Academy” concept, I feel that this would allow you to have everything under one roof.
Now Kahn receives donations to fund their site (from Google and Bill Gates no less) so I’m not sure if you are willing to go that route, but Kahn is such a huge and popular site that I’m sure they are not too worried about funds.
This idea maybe be too big of an undertaking for you because I honestly don’t know what it takes to set something up like that. All I know is when I visit Kahn Academy I wish there was a site with that exact same format but for topics I care about like fitness, health, business, and lifestyle.

I used to work 10 and 12 hour days on construction sites. The worst part was that I only got paid for it once. The job took everything from me and I had to start at ZERO every single day.
Since starting my blog I don’t feel like I’m working at all. I can spend 10 hours in front of the computer and I actually feel guilty at the end of the day. After 15 years of working for others I’ve learned to associate misery with work.
Blogging isn’t taxing in any way. The hardest part is getting used to not feeling like complete shit after a days work.

Great post, great blog. Great marketing ploy as well. This is my first comment here since I don’t usually do the commenting thing, but your bonus was too tasty not to bite.
So here goes.
From what I know you’ve got a couple of high quality products that all have a common denominator, namely they fit right into the Bold & Determined lifestyle/mindset.
On the other hand, these products lack visibility and a cohesive marketing story. On top of that, you are not using a leadmagnet to entice newcomers to subscribe to your website.
Yes, your blog is seriously good there’s a good chance people will subscribe eventually. However there’s no point in ignoring proven marketing tactics that improve your conversion rate drasticly. There just isn’t. Psychology works for everyone as you know well enough.
There is a great streamlining opportunity here.
I would suggest a couple of changes in your website structure that will have significant impact on your subscribers and sales conversion.
1. Create an About page where most of your current “New? Start Here” content will be transferred to. You could even go into even more depth about B&D and your personal story which creates more rapport with your readers. Young men love inspiration. You’ve got the authenticity and life experience to provide them with it.
2. That said, the first step is mainly to make way for the second. I would design a new “Start Here” page where you create a landing page that explains what B&D is and why it is a must-have resource for the up and coming wolves. Pitch your entire brand, including yourself as the leader-by-example using proper copy. However there is no need for excruciating detail as this is covered in the About page which you can refer to. Keep it simple and powerful. Also keep in mind the visual aspect of your text. Internet users love headlines and scannability. I have to say the scannability of your current “Start Here” page is a mess.
3. At the bottom and(/or) in the middle of the page, add a 2 step opt-in (check out LeadBoxes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AHYqoI9uX-k) where you offer them an exclusive post (that you will obviously launch to your old subscribers as well) named something along the lines of “The Ultimate Guide to walking the Bold & Determined path”. This is the gift that they will receive upon subscribing.
Creating this post will take some effort, but it would basicly be an in-depth guide to utilizing your own products and top posts to make the most out of what you and your brand has to offer, especially if you are just discovering the website. Break it down so that people can read this post and have a lasting framework to dig deeper into your content and products.
Not only is this a great way to get more subscribers, you can also pitch your products properly and give them the attention they deserve. For instance, I currently have a relatively hard time finding out BADwear even exists. Make it easier and more appealing this way. (Of course general tweaks can never hurt either.)
You could even break this ‘post’ up in several mails to prevent your readers from being bombared with too much information all at once. Breaking things up will also allow you to let your readers focus on your products at exactly the right time, without feeling overwhelmed.
This is the core of how I would improve and streamline your current content and brand. There are several other small tweaks (such as custom Opt-in boxes specified for certain posts, 2 step Opt-ins in general, a more straightforward approach to pitching and offering products, etc) which are going to help your business, but I think the idea above is the one that will have the largest direct impact and is worth implementing first.

Very simple way to make more is to have more connection between the different B&D “networks.”
A quick way to do this could be a “package deal” of sorts. Different B&D products packaged together at a discount.
Example: New Man Package. 30DD, blog artists handbook, BADNET subscription, and SPARTAN t shirt.
Total Badass Package: Body of A Spartan, Wolf logo t shirt, bonus supplements from an affiliate.
The actual packages would be different because I don’t know the costs behind each, but having a “package deal” offers increased sales with minimal work. It would also be a good way to get “committed fans” who are heavily involved with the B&D network instead of just one product. These packages could be advertised as an upgrade at checkout, so that no additional marketing has to be done.
Minimal work on your part. Increased profits.

Solicit videos of B&D community members wearing B&D gear while doing their favorite BOS exercise, use on YouTube to link back to B&D/BOS sales page. Sell a dri-fit type, polyester workout shirt(s). Personally I don’t workout in cotton shirts.
An expanded version of this would be a collaboration with D&P for best Fit Juice/BOS results. The triumverate/triathalon would be B&D/GLL/D&P collaboration on the biggest/ most dramatic changes guys make with body/girls/making $. All three sites promote the challenge.

You have multiple products to inspire people to improve themselves. You also have multiple products that instruct or otherwise prepare people for improving themselves. But, it seems to me that you offer very little to support the person while he is doing the act of improving himself.
I remember you mentioning before that you play guitar and I know that I have enjoyed the few spoken word videos that you have put on the blog. A collection of inspirational audio tracks for sale on iTunes or Amazon might just be the thing to fill the gap in your product lineup. Your fans could listen to them while lifting, writing, or building businesses and then be inspired to kick more ass.

Open a competition to all B&D users to submit to you a full and detailed business plan of their idea/venture. The plan would need contain certain criteria you set out and be backed up by market research, financial figures etc
The winner (your choice of course) gets an investment from you and if it’s an online business (which it would probably need to be for geographical reasons) the help and support to set up the new site and get it going.
They do 80-90% of the work, with you there as a mentor and for guidance.
50 / 50 partners in the new company.
You already have a made audience you could market the new product / service to.

This one would be tough to pull off, but perhaps you could do a one-time podcast (not a recurring one, as I know you stated this wouldn’t fly) with Joe Rogan. I mention him specifically as I know you’ve mentioned him in one of your Pridecast’s before, and he’s probably the one mainstream figure who’s ideas and beliefs are similar and in-line with yours. He’s a celebrity Vic, so I really think that exposure to his audience would be the turning point that could grow your already large following exponentially.
Like I said, it’d be hard, but I don’t think it’s impossible. If you found a way to get into contact with him, you’ve got a unique angle you could sell him on and your niche (male self-improvement) would be right up his alley.
This idea is built around BOS and in a sense BD as well.
Make BOS into a workout regime. Promote it as a physical exercise philosophy, perhaps with potential of turning it into a competitive sport.
Sell licenses to gyms worldwide to teach the Body of a Spartan workout method.
You already have all the know-how. The exercises, diets and the BD philosophy - maximum efficiency with zero bs ;)
You would probably need to create a single gym running a strict Body of Spartan workout method - just to prove the concept, but you could partner with an already existing gym on this.
From then on the systems which you would have in place would take care of the rest - passing the know-how to new business owners.
Im thinking of a concept similar to crossfit. There are something like 11,000 gyms around the world all of which have to pay an annual fee to crossfit Inc.
Second potential idea:
Once again built around BOS.
Clean, GMO free, healthy, fair-trade /whichever/ food sold under the BOS brand. I’m thinking of white label products. Marks daily apple has started selling mayonnaise(!!!) this way.

Your business is basically self-development. You cater adult males which make up 50 percent of the adult population.
You may set up another page that is not related to BOD and cater the female population as well using the same fundamental principles you used to make your business profitable. You can tell them about discipline and about ways for working out properly.
However that requires new content and a lot of research as well. It is also much harder to establish credibility and it there are potential conflicts with your view of woman in general. Anyway it would increase your potential market dramatically.
First off, hell of a good sketch of the Victor Pride solar system. The status of these assets may be in need of a meteoroid bang of change. I see a couple directions. With the money we all question you gross, “Badwear” sits as a dry Mars. T-shirts and online shopping will continue to take markets.
“Badwear” is a dry potential for what could be an ocean filled with success. Change the name of border into something great and meaningful, unlike a description for someone. The outlook is not in shirts or hoodies, but other products like workout equipment, sunglasses, do I have to continue?
One bold move leads to greater thing. I believe altering the face of badwear through design change and business collaborations will lead to a larger potential for success.
I also think the entire population of the world should be reading your articles. Advertisements, business collaborations, and other unfamiliar business expenditures — international takeovers, could possibly work. Anyone with wifi could connect to Badnet…woah, even… your own Victor Pride “Badnet” internet explorer. But back too the real picture. Expansion to larger groups of socities can help Bold and Determined spread its wings once again. The odd ellipses of the Pride solar system planets must be more balanced and invested in better environments.

VP, I suggest creating another website dedicated to online educational video presentations (specifically related to the topics you discuss). You will organize the topics into short, 3-5 minute videos, so users can quickly find the information they need and be on their way. For example, your 30 Days content would be on one page but each individual video will be hyperlinked. Website first, then mobile app if you want (mobile video is a great platform). Think of it as the central hub for your educational content but delivered video format. Record once, residual income based on subscriptions. I work for a company that does this. I can’t help you do it and don’t want any money but I can give you all the details on how we do it and why it works. We were recently acquired for $1.5B. I have a few other ideas related to this that I can discuss with you.
Don’t give the $500 away. Invest it. Buy shares of a company. Be smart as to what company you invest in. Keep making trades to keep making profits.
I didn’t read the other comments, so this may have already been suggested (and it is a very obvious idea), but:
You should allow featured/sponsored content. Obviously, it would have to be a quality article that fits into your own vision, and you would need to guarantee yourself full editorial control so that you don’t water down your content with garbage, but this would give hungry guys a chance to advertise their own stuff on your site, and you could collect a cool $1500-2000 once a month for allowing a guest post. I’m sure there are guys who would pay at least that for one 1,000 word post on your platform. Charge $2 per word so that it reinforces the need for brevity and to cut out the bullshit.
You’ve done the hard work of building the platform. Allow at most one per month so that it remains a valuable commodity. Your only labor would be reading a post and editing it — oh, and collecting someone’s billing information.
I would recommend a survey funnel.
It’s all about automation and maximizing the revenue on your current product offerings with specifically-tailored product/service recommendations.
No need to create new products or do any sort of launching or additional work after the survey is set up.
I have a few friends using them, one of whom is currently doing over 40% of his revenue through the survey automation sequence itself (it’s a $40k/month blog business with 4 product offerings) and over 100 optins daily from it.
It helps you (the product owner) serve your customer with tailored advice and recommendations, but also gives you the added benefit of scalability and a hands-free system.
I’m happy to share specific examples if this is something you’re interested in doing.
How about catering towards the audience that hasn’t quite hit adulthood yet? You somewhat left them advice in the article titled “18 Things Every 18 Year Old Should Know” at the end, telling them to bust their time and build their bodies, but they must be able to do more than that.
It would be a great idea to offer a contest of which a start up company of your choice receives investing or some form of sponsorship from you. You would receive profits from revenue of the company if you invested.
My idea for BAD is a “manliness” e-course that is set up on a secure login system. This would be a pay for service, and can include information from you and others. It would take work to set up, but over time it would continue to build income over time. The first ‘x’ number of sign ups get a discount, and an exclusive prize like limited edition shirt, mug, poster, etc. The class could contain WODs, manners, other manliness lessons. You can also include exclusive discounts to vendors that members only can use. Members can also have merchandise that is exclusive to them.
You could start analyzing the success of music/sports/movie stars. Just covering metal musicians alone would get you on MetalSucks, Metal Injection, Blabbermouth etc. exposing you to a new audience that could definitely use the info you’re providing.
Encourage readers to click through to affiliate sites via the approved resources section every time they visit the affiliate site. Add a feature on the front page that makes it visible and easy to do.
Develop that section more and add links for international sites as well as US ones if needed.
Use a call to action in a post or email to explain what you want them to do. B&D is a great resource for readers and it’s an easy, free way to give a bit back. It only takes a couple of seconds and costs nothing.
30 Days of discipline app, with completion check marks and the ability to share via facebook/twiiter. Pretty basic stuff, but makes it easier to accomplish in the thirty days and lets your friends know you’re on track. Additionally, provide a quote of the day on the app from one of your articles to give an extra nudge of motivation.
You know I’ve always wanted something like posters of you guys. Bold and Determined, Good looking loser, all of those should have posters. I just feel like it would motivate me when I wake up in the morning. Work out, get bigger, make money, succeed. I think the posters would sell really well. I feel like you would make a good amount of money and you would get some more recognition.

I have a couple of suggestions.
1. Shift the ‘SPEAK YOUR MIND’ section, so that it immediately follows your posts. Maybe I’m nitpicking, but some people might think you’ve disabled the ability to leave comments without thinking to skip past all the previous comments to the bottom of the page.
2. Start writing articles aimed at a female audience. Focus on what it is to be feminine, what real men look for in a women, why being fat isn’t just something you should accept etc. This doesn’t necessarily have to be part of B&D, but more like a little sister to B&D. You could call it Demure & Affection. D&B, the opposite of B&D, or something ha. It could be like Cosmopolitan - Victor style. I’m sure your girl could help you out.
Might be a lost cause, but even if you don’t generate a lot of female traffic, I’d image a lot of current subscribers to B&D would be interested. Maybe a stupid idea, but just a thought.

Utilizing your entire B&D audience of aspiring entrepreneurs as an idea tank for less than $800. There’s a lot of good ideas in here too, which supports what you were saying about how many people are going to have the smarts to be successful but aren’t trying hard enough.
The real value behind this blog, for me at least, has been to watch the way in which it has evolved; in how your business model has sort of adapted over the past year or two, in terms of the type of value you are providing. I know that’s been really insightful for me to take note of and remember the importance of building a business that can flex and adapt over time to allow for expansion in different directions.
Anyway, seeing where your business has come from and where it seems to be going, I’d say that now would be a good time for you begin distancing yourself from the equation. While your business generates money regardless of whether or not you are around, a large part of it is content driven, and being the sole author and artist of B&D, it can’t “expand” (in content) without you. What I would likely do if I were in your shoes is this:
(a) Create an exclusive Bold&Determined “Club” / collective. Many of your readers are now aspiring to follow in your path, but are making the mistake of trying to “copycat” from you, as well as advertising their sites to one another, as opposed to acquiring new readers from the 7 billion other people in the world who don’t currently subscribe to any blogs. This BADCLUB/BADPACK/etc. would grant select individuals membership to a private group (hidden Facebook group, private forum, etc.) where they could network with one another, promote each others sites, bounce ideas and suggestions off of each other, etc. Honest feedback from one another would help them to create their own unique voice and business, rather than having a bunch of B&D “same same but differents.” You could offer it as an optional, but recommended component of BADNET and charge a monthly or annual subscription fee, which would benefit subscribers in the long run, but serve as straight passive income for yourself. Furthermore, tying your readers together in this way would help them to succeed in their entrepreneurial goals, lending further positive testimony to the effectiveness of BADNET. People would subscribe to this, and it would be easy, straight profit for you, month after month.
(b) In addition to/rather than this, you could create a satellite site of guest posts only. This should be a different site, so that there is no risk of losing your audience because of it. You could compile a list of all BADNET-affiliated sites, read the posts over lunch, and choose one per week to feature on the new blog. Most of your readers will likely immediately hop onto and subscribe to that blog as well, so you wouldn’t have to go through all the legwork of building another list from scratch. It would be up to your discretion if anyone’s posts are eligible for being included on this site, or if you only chose from those in the BADCLUB previously mentioned. Traffic and publicity for BADNET customers / BADCLUB subscribers; lack of pressure to generate content on your own. To take advantage of the current viral nature of social media, you could promote the concept of sharing one another’s work from this blog on Facebook/Twitter etc., because the end result would be massive influxes of new readers who had never previously heard of B&D or any of the blogs/businesses by guys on here.
Less work for Victor Pride, more money for everyone.

If the answer is yes, wich I believe it is, because all your written content is directed to give form to this prototypical guy, then I would recommend that you make a reestructuration of the B&D website, because right now the first approach is the blog, the written articles, the speech that gives one the reception to the B&D universe. This makes that all other products be left apart as sub-products, objects that could or not be part of this first impression of what is actually B&D. A reestructuration in the form of a more universal entry to a new B&D interface, in wich all content are equally regarded, so that you could not take them as different things, but only as part of this “designed lifestyle” that comes as an ALL. The tools that will give form to this, from then forward, B&D forged guy.

You then need to get this piece to go viral.
You want their loyalists (seething with socialism/feminism/liberalism) to attack the piece, and by extension, your site. This will draw more traffic than the most expensive ad campaign you could buy on Madison Ave.
But the trick is that your piece will have to undeniably speak the truth. This is why it will make them so mad. They will be unable to refute it. And this is why they will keep commenting on it - all the while motivating more people to come to your site.

And I’m not talking about the sidebar you already have, but a subscription model for back end access to the info you have available. Sources for any studies you come across, access to all books you’ve written and will write, info on the sites you visit regularl.
You could also include a more free form private blog that’d be more of a thought stream than planned articles. Access to your daily “supplement” plan, what you eat on the average day, if your workout routine has changed, what is it now?
Your business is built around you as well, why not give people a better access to what you actually do?
You talk about residual income, yet your products so far are all one time sales. Why not have a subscription model where you could make 20, 30, 50 dollars every single month from 10, 5, or even just 1% of the people who’ve ever bought any one of your books?

Great article, i’m not a native speaker but i’ll give my best, like you do with your articles:
This Idea isn’t new but it is the only one making enough sence to me after reading all of your articles. You put out great value and there are thousands of people who read your content regularly. I would bring them together in a mastermind-group where the members can learn from each other and feel encouraged by likeminded people. You could name the monthly fee which only serious spartans would want to afford and/or some other form of qualification Who behaves inapropiate gets kicked out. There could also be a monthly conference where the members could talk to each other and hold everyone accountable (its easy to set up there could be one talk for each timezone, moderators could be someone from your team or later a proven group member). It would make it also easier for you to answer questions and you would know your answer would actually be received by the right men. Since people are already more online than they should be, they could spend this time reading and communicating good stuff instead of wasting it.
More win-win is not possible, everyone learns and push each other and for you there is more money coming in every month.

A business idea that I thought could benefit your entire solar system would be to offer coupons/ discounts for BADWEAR or BADNET in return for your readers to recommend a certain amount of friends to your site. This will haul in more new faces which in turn will lead to your business becoming a lot more profitable. If the new faces like it they will stay, if they don’t your loss isn’t too extreme depending on the size of the discount you are offering. This shouldn’t occupy any of your time, if it is operated through an automation system.

Or carry this idea over to other items, etc b&d bundles of things you think member would be interested in, such as supps, books b&d merch and anything else that’s worth having.

You hit a nerve with me on the charity issue.
Up until 2 years ago, I had a retail point of sale software company, which netted me over $20K per month, whether I worked or not.
I avoided giving to charity because I knew 95% goes to the management and only 5% to the actual cause.
I was chastised and called a cheap bastard.
Next, family, friends, and leeches kept coming to me with their problems and stupid me kept funding them.
For 2 years straight, I funded over 30 family issues, costing me over $200K.
Next, my business slowed down due to my stupidity in letting these losers distract my focus on growing the business. By Agust of 2014, I lost my house, my business, and all ,my money.
Now, I had to ask family for money to pay my car to avoid repossession. That maxde me want to vomit because I helped other family members pay their car to avoid the repo man. For the last 20 years, I was always there for the beggars, but when my turn came to ask for money, there was none for me. They were all too busy traveling on vacation, buying bigger homes, paying for their kids college, etc. I was at the bottom of their priority list.
They even came to me asking for money, knowing tyhey already cleaned me out! They assumed that I would just make more and give it to them.
When I said no, they virtually dis-owned me. That was when I said, “No More Charity under any circumstance”. Now that I stopped helping others, my new business is growing 10% each week and expect to be netting $30K per month by end of July 2015. I still get asked for money, but I keep saying that I have none. I tell them I just paid for my first vacation in 3 years and have to put the money aside for my new home. I told them that when I accumulate over $10 Million in my bank account, I will let them know and may even help them. Of course, that will never happen because I will invest it in income producing real estate and other investments before I accumulate $10 Million in cash.
So, the bottom line is that charity is like a boat; a hole in your wallet.

My idea is to simply get the endorsement of either celebrities or ‘normal’ readers and users of your material. Perhaps you might see it as ‘selling out’ to get celebs to endorse/promote your material but if not it might bring some sudden massive traffic to your site. Or alternatively you could do some video interviews with users that have gained a lot from your products and get them to tell you how they have grown or improved on their life as a direct result of your materials. Either option would add gravitas, an added sense of connectedness and I would guess a lot more traffic to your site.

You could hire on a woman for B&D who writes specifically towards the female audience. This would increase your demographic as well as your ability to create, sell, or promote different products.
More investment in the BADWORLD brand. For example as a complement to body of a spartan, you could offer B&D gym gear. I would definitely buy that.
I also love the ideas that have been posted about growing the B&D community. I would love to connect with some of the readers. Have you thought about some sort of social media app focused on men who want to get shit done ie B&D readers?
Great article Vic. Haters gonna hate. I read your latest post on your personal blog about how living in Vietnam made you realise how important money was. I live in Colombia where I see extreme poverty everyday and now money is my number one priority. Money + Mindset = Freedom. Funny hearing people from home complaining about being “poor”.
It would be cool to see B&D start their own strongman contest challenge. Get group of serious guys who are local and/or willing to travel. Then they can meet up and do some strong man lifting challenges (kegs, tires, iron, sleds, barrels) and other hardcore workouts. This will develop niche for serious weight lifters and from there you gain followers and potential interests. Also you can start selling some recommended products that you use for strength training, etc…
This of course would be implemented when your hands are all healed.

Not really a long thought out idea to improve revenues, but a useful suggestion to a problem you may not know you have that could be ruining your user experience for the last week or more.
I just discovered your blog two weeks ago for the first time. Since, I’ve been devouring different sections each day in my spare time in the evenings. Your site has been throwing db errors intermittently and doesn’t load for a few minutes at a time every so often. I’m not on the site very much, but if it’s happened to me multiple times, it might be much more frequent which could be affecting traffic and sales.

I’d imagine the server is getting hit pretty hard at times, or the database isn’t optimized, cached, and missing indexes if db is large. I’m not sure if you’re aware that Hostgator was bought by EIG, but normally hosting companies decline after that acquisition. (no idea if that’s the issue or not, I just saw you mentioned you’re on an HG dedi in another post somewhere. I ditched a lot of my hostgator accounts after they went to shit in the past)
Steps to fix this:
1) Open a support ticket and ask host to optimize db and user account.
2) Fix wordpress cache - Fastest cache is currently 1.2 second load time on Genesis framework? Should be faster with a dedi
3) Add a cdn - cloudflare or cloudfront for extended uptime and load times around the world
4) Setup an uptime monitor with https://uptimerobot.com or http://pingdom.com to be aware if the problem persists and take the next preventative steps (don’t use a service that pings the server every few seconds, that’ll just add to the problem and waste resources. You just need an ongoing overview of what’s happening, and some sort of third party notification when the site becomes unavailable.)
Pitfalls: host might say you have too much traffic and you need to upgrade yada yada. (they’re notorious for this, instead of fixing the problem… throwing resources at it only works for so long, especially if you truly are already on a dedicated server. It would be the equivalent of a kid saying nothing in his life changed after completing 30DOD… but the bitch only woke up at 5am once.) They might be right about upgrading, but I doubt it… couldn’t say for sure without knowing server specs and daily connections.
You could switch to “wordpress hosting” like synthesis, wp engine, or pagely that everyone says is “the fastest” if Hostgator can’t help you. Personally I think most of those are horse shit in the long run.
If you do end up needing to switch hosting companies, check out http://unixy.net and get a server with Varnish… it’ll cache everything at the server level. Plus Joe the owner is amazeballs when it comes to complex hosting solutions and crippling servers. He’s helped me out of a bind when my storm servers at liquidweb went to shit on more than one occasion.

Or hire a freelance artist to make a color comics hero based on the brand to tell your stories. It could be a 3 page monthly comic. Based on the style it could present B&D very differently.
2. In-site user account login. I think this could be a better way to examine the userbase. Users can be rated with levels or stars. This way even new guys know the old wolves and the benefits of commitment here. It could open new possibilities of contests and rating stories.

Obviously a great idea to get ideas from other people. I’d suggest doing a personal consulting business to add to your current content. This is not going to be residual income but charging cash to do one-on-one coaching for readers over Skype, or offering packages where individuals can meet with you in person for a hefty fee seems like the logical next step.
A higher quality brand of shirt and screenprinter would garner more repeat buyers on badwear.
I bought the “lift some weights…” shirt in october 2014 so I can only reference the quality of shirt produced at that time. I have submitted it to essentially identical treatment (workouts and wash routine) as some other white screenprinted t shirts on various brands (gildan, jerzees). The badwear shirt has shrunk the most and has the most faded ink of all by far.
I would like to see more longevity from my purchases. Cotton/polyester blends are comfortable, help the fabric last longer, and are less likely to wrinkle. Next Level shirts a great product.

First: It would be a good idea to make it so that the “comments” box is at the top. I had to scroll through like 50,000 comments just to get here. A small tweak like this would make commenting far easier, thus engaging the community more.
My Idea: Make more things to sell. And no I don’t mean books. I’m talking about things that you can churn out a design for in under a minute, and pay someone else to manufacture for you. For example:
-A mug that says something like “Don’t be a pussy,” or some other quote from one of your articles.
-Pens
-Canteens/thermoses
-Put your ebooks in hardcover form
-A B&D gym bag
-B&D deadlift wraps
-B&D hat
-B&D shaker bottle/blender bottle
-B&D bandana
-B&D towel
Once you find a manufacturer and set it up so that they make however many orders you need per month, you’ll generate massive residual income.
Also, create a sort of “VIP” list where someone has to pay maybe $10/month to get in it and you’ll send them a special weekly article that only they can get access to. Yeah, this would be more work, but if you got just 1000 subscribers to it, that’s an extra $10,000 a month for maybe spending 2 hrs/week writing a special article for them.
Just my thoughts; hope you consider them if you already haven’t.

Who is Victor Pride? I would suggest writing an autobiographical post (or book if you really want to) telling the world who you really are: where you came from, what your childhood was like growing up, how your relationships were/are with your parents, what you liked/like to do for fun, what obstacles you faced as a child/teenager/adult and how you overcame them (going from broke to rich is very limited in scope), your strengths, your weaknesses, your biggest fear(s), who your role models were/are, what your dating/social life was/is like, and so on. You obviously don’t need to disclose personal information; trivial facts like what your real name is don’t matter. But you should show everyone who you really are and how you grew up to be the wise old man you are today. Be 100% open and real with us.
In each article I write I give away more and more.

To get to the point, what would really help you put B&D into better shape would be to automate it’s surrounding processes. Ones strategy you undoubtedly have heard of is kaizen, where you improve incrementally many small aspects which would then add up to a whole change in the architecture. For example, instead of paying you electricity bills, invest in solar panels; take advantage of the open source movement, resell custom made ardino microchips with the B&D logo; instead of using store bought Windows or Mac use Ubuntu.
*When it comes to automating your business the thing most businesses lack is trust. Somewhere in this monolithic archive of yours I read a post about someone you took in as a protoge I think it was (I hope this is not a false memory), even though it sounds similar to”consulting”, far from it, I suggest you take people you can trust and include life improvement in their paycheck, they work for you doing things which automate your business like learning to code and gaining necessary skills, while you do what you do best whip them into shape and into the best they can be, of course doing this to groups of people so that they fill positions you need. Kind of like Tyler did in Fight Club but without the cynic tone and destructive habits.
I hope someone didn’t already right this and if I do win (haha ,right, hope so) I would want the 500 minus the money for a spartan shirt.
In the end even though you might not like my idea, all I can say is, if someone tomorrow offered me a job to work for a guy who I would want to be my mentor I would gladly take less pay for a chance to be whipped into shape.

I’d say just about everyone who’s used BADNET and is trying to follow in your footsteps is concerned about a single thing:traffic. I don’t really need the money(but the t-shirt would be cool) but if you could come up with some solution for SERIOUS people who work hard to provide value, with your reputation you could make a lot of money indeed.
I really don’t trust the bulk of the internet when it comes to ANYTHING. IT’s all just scams and :salesmanship.” So anyways, create another satalite site, and all you have to do is list the best sites in every “category” that were started on Badnet. Now you have yourself a “panel of experts” that you can collaborate with down the road, creating a shit ton of value for the BnD world while helping serious and dedicated bloggers do their thing. Two thing’s that have to be in place here though: you have to be very selective on who you get behind, and you have to make sure that the categories are far enough apart. This is a long term strategy but could prove to be extremely profitable if you find the right people.
I know you’re a musician, and you’ve set your articles to music. I also know a lot of people (including myself) listen to music when they work out, so what if you created a series of music pieces that contained your words of inspiration? Perhaps you could design the rhythms of different pieces specifically to sync with certain types of exercise. You’d have your background music to give you energy and motivating words to keep you driven. Sort of like subliminal messaging, except the purpose is to help men better themselves rather than buy useless junk.

Set a task aligned to B&D’s principles each week or month for readers on one of your affiliate partners sites.
For example find the best smart casual outfit on amazon with a budget of $50 or the top 20 books every winner should read on Kindle.
For strongsupplements you could ask readers to come up with the best bulking stack.
It would drive a lot of traffic to your partners, and because it’s not to view a single product they will be actively searching through the site, increasing the probability of sales.
Readers reporting back what their opinion is and the ensuing debate will engage people and bring them back to B&D more often than normal. A lot of readers may only check B&D when there is a new post and this would be the hook that gets them back more frequently.
The mayweather vs pacquiao fight is going to be big .Why don’t you make inspiritional type videos like what you do with your posts and podcasts but instead it’s you talking and the video showing pacquiao or mayweather training on youtube or on bold and determined.Try to use keywords that are easily searchable and I bet alot of people will find this site and be inspired to buy your book.Do this the week of the fight These videos will have a link to your website and you could definitely promote body of a spartan that way .Both of these guys are inspirational people as well as athletes.
Acquire a few writers that can write a weekly article for you in return for exposure. Since Bold & Determined is a lifestyle, these writers need to write about a variety of topics. Create new sections on the website, these sections can be similar to this list: Headline news, Business, Politics, Sports, Lifestyle, Opinion and Humor. Or whatever you want, just add some variety to the site that reflects the Bold & Determined mentality. Post at least one new article in each section every week. (Ideally at least one new article a day on Bold & Determined) New content equals more repeat and unique page views. You already have copy cat websites that look the same, cover the same 3 topics ( weights, money, and success) and need to differentiate from these sites. These sits post with much more regularity than yours. You have left a lot of money on the table since 2012.
I can tell you this, when I first discovered your website I visited it daily until I read every word your wrote. Once I read everything, it seemed that I had to wait longer and longer for new articles. I would forget about the site completely. Its easy to forget a website when new content is posted sporadically at long intervals.
This one’s going to come slightly out of left field, but hear me out.
One of the things you’ve stressed before in your writing is that you deliberately write your posts on B&D in such a way that they are timeless, and I would agree. I have several of your posts from a couple years back bookmarked on my phone, so I can pull them up at any time and feel amped to go build something.
One of the unfortunate things about the info-marketing space however is the lack of timelessness about a lot of the content. Membership sites and courses have a tendency to become digital junk in the course of 6-24 months.
I recommend that you buck this trend by going in the other direction with a niche comic book.
Here’s why:
You have an aspirational information brand and you’re quite a character. A sort of modern Charles Atlas if you will. Only that you also live in South East Asia and have many business interests as well as psychological and social insights you dispense regularly. That’s the making of a badass comic if I’ve ever seen one.
Picture something like Johnny Bunko by Daniel Pink, and then crank up the testosterone 10x.
I would love to have something like this sitting on my bookshelf in hardback form and would easily pay $100-$300 for something that niche, but would also settle for something digital and less expensive on my iPad if I had to (would be far more amped for something physical from you though as I only have ebooks so far). I would even buy extra copies to give to my nephews as a gift.
Best part is you don’t have to do any of the writing. You can hire a writer and illustrator to do the work, and just provide them with your articles as a reference guide for creating a story arc before green lighting it.
Pay them to do a one-pager as a sample. Then, launch a pre-sale campaign via kickstarter or something else to ensure the venture is risk-free before shelling out the cash for the whole project.
I’m not even a comic book lover per se, but I would love to have something this niche, unique, and timeless sitting on my bookshelf. It would be more than just information and advice. It would transform your blog art into a physical piece of art that I would never want to throw away.

It would be a good project for you at this time: it builds on your current publishing/writing strengths yet working with an illustrator (and all the fun details of wrangling a printed book) would stretch your skill set to new places. Progressive overload, right?

All your products are segregated into their own little portals. Sure, it’s great for people who are interested in one specific thing (eg. working out - BOAS). But what if you congregated your products into one package?
You could offer different packages that have different combinations of your products (at a slightly lower price than if you were to buy each separately). For those people who are on the fence about a certain product, offering a package could make the sale.
Btw - Chris Guillebeau just announced the $100 startup being published in manga form as another example. Although, I would recommend a more Frank Miller-esque style for yours if you ever decided to do one.

Make the world a better place, and make a website for women on how to live a life like a women should. 1.) Selling physical products just seems like the way to go to make money in a short amount of time. Since your ebooks are already a proven product, why not produce physical copies for the people who want them. Take a pre-order from the guys on here so that the books will be paid for without initial capital from your pockets. Plus your brands spread further with physical items coming into contact with more people. This could be done 3x over for each of your books.
2.) More physical products. I saw a guy mention a mug earlier. I believe he was on the right track. Mugs, cell phone cases, lighters, sticker sets, etc all emblazoned with the B&D logo. All of this is easy to push since the enormous amount of work you put into building such a reputable brand. You could have your interns handle the shipping or pass the inventory off to a dropshipper. Maybe one time runs of each item would be more profitable so they’ll be seen as exclusive. That way you just deal with shipping a 1 large run, each item.
3.) Marketing idea. B&D girls. High profile photoshoot with hot girls wearing some B&D gear. Photos will have a link back to the online shop. Push through social media outlets like Tumblr, Instagram and Twitter. Just drives traffic and sales of merch.
4.) I know that you’re a huge music fan and a musician as well. This is a stretch, but what about B&D Records. Put some capital behind a young artist that YOU LOVE. Get him a professional photoshoot. Cut a 3 song EP of all brilliant songs. Shoot 1 or 2 amazing videos. Release it here to your large audience.

I’ve seen a lot of posts by men here offering ideas and only a handful of females input. But here’s something that would help make B&D successful that is needed in this world, that I’ve not yet seen anywhere!
What I’d like to see is a Body of an Amazon Warrior. In this respect I’m referring to female disabled Veterans who have been honorably discharged but are injured after they get out of the military. I for one, am a U.S. Army Veteran who was injured while on Active Duty (I broke three bones and tore the TFCC ligament in my right wrist). My injuries have healed for the most part, but I’m limited in working out due to my injuries, and if there were some type of instruction available for injured Veterans, we’d be able to get stronger without making the injury worse.
In addition to the female Veteran, one could also be done for male Veterans, since while we were on Active Duty, PT was a daily part of life, and to not be able to continue it after we get out is challenging, but not impossible.
Another idea is to have an affiliate program for Modafinil too. In addition to being a disabled Veteran, I’m also a full time student taking Modafinil to be successful in school and in life, looking forward to going into business for myself. Having an affiliate program would make B&D a lot of money, as well as those who sign on to be affiliates. You can bet I’ll be first in line!
So there it is. I’m not sure if anyone else has come up with this, but this idea is original and my own. Have an epic Monday afternoon and I look forward ton your input.
The injured vet idea is very good.
Instead of affiliate linking liver tabs, why not create your own brand of liver tabs? Since they’re not trash like most supplements.

My idea is that you make some wristbands (you know the rubber ones?) with your own quotes on them. For example something along the lines of ‘Only YOU can make it happen’. When people are wearing them, it doesn’t matter where they are because when they look at them, they will be motivated to do something good for themselves. You could even make motivational posters.

Your recent e-book “The Blog Artist’s Handbook” touches upon affiliate marketing, but only as it relates to BAD products and becoming an affiliate marketer for products they like anyway.
Nothing wrong with those things, but I want other people to market my products—which is something you’ve done successfully.
Given that you have this experience plus experience creating BADnet, which gives tools to empower bloggers/entrepreneurs, my idea for you to create a simple affiliate system (could be called BADbuy or BADcart) that gives likeminded guys out there a way to incentive others to review/promote their product.
From what I can tell, creating an affiliate program has a big learning curve and many programs expect certain sales volumes going in..Using your skill-set, you could create a simple, streamlined solution that would make the technical stuff a breeze, allowing content/product creators to focus on what they do best: create.
Implemented successfully, BADbuy could spread the BAD name more than any individual product ever could. Because all of a sudden, you’d have hundreds of products under the BAD banner, even if it’s in a subtle way.
It’s the perfect evolution. You’ve sold your products through affiliates. You’ve created tools to help bloggers/thinkers/creators. Next, create tools to help them sell products through affiliates.

Two Ideas:
First Idea:
All the guys who arrive here, most likely arrive with two things in mind:
1) Get ripped
2) Get motivated
The guys who buy your books, do the work and are successful with the advice you give share a common bond - sort of like a brotherhood. Sometimes we forget that we are King Lion or that we need to keep those answers to a Yes or No , etc. I think it would be Bad Ass if you could offer a type of pendant for sale to customers who have already purchased your material (which implies that they’ve at least read your material, probably put some things into practice). A pendant that we could wear around our neck to bind us all in the Bad Ass Brotherhood. To remind us how Bad Ass we are, so that we can stay focused on being successful. It would feel great to recognize a fellow Bad Ass in the gym just by seeing his Bad Ass pendant. I think you get the idea. It could be a Spartan crest, or something else that keeps the design Simple, Bold and Bad Ass (but I like anything Spartan).
Second Idea:
Make the “Bad Ass Brotherhood” another one of your “trademarks”, similar to Bad Net. I think this idea is better than my first idea since there is no product to sell. Just slap that name onto anything that would bind us all into a common community - maybe a forum.

Men across America are increasingly wearing higher-quality, better-looking athletic shorts at the gym. There’s a good opportunity for a niche business to sneak into the market.
Your business resembles a solar system: Different size products orbiting around B&D like planets. I’ll skip the part where I compared Badnet to Jupiter and Badwear to Mars and so on.
If you want to keep sitting on your ass* while bragging about “Residual Income” levels, then any of the ideas in the comments would attach a moon to any of your products and make more money (or less, everything in life comes with risk, right?).
I say go for a new planet. Go and fucking build something bigger than what you already have orbiting around B&D. Go into the shop and start crafting a new race that will land on your new planet, a new atmosphere and enough with the metaphors.
Want to make more money? Like some guys said in a comment, raise the price of a book by $1 and you’re done.
But I think you’re already bored and looking for a new challenge. My idea is for you take a look in the mirror, a long hard look to that “successful persona” you are starting to believe really exists and know that you have fears and anxiety inside. Yes you do, like all of us.

Another idea: Copyright some of the more popular one liners that you’ve coined. For example ” eat some steaks lift some weights ” or ” don’t be broke as a joke” and turn them into magnets or bumper stickers. You then sell them in your e- store.
Idea 1: Joint venture with Mike Chang from Six Pack Shortcuts and leverage his audience to sell your products. 50/50 split - minimum effort.
Idea 2: Drop Facebook retargeting pixels on links throughout your sites. You can build specific, custom audiences on FB and have someone set up some ad campaigns selling your stuff. Some people will interact / buy more on FB as it’s what they may be used to and they’ll feel most comfortable there. Not using FB (you may already be doing so) = leaving money on the table.
Idea 3: Set up a back - end offer for your Body of a Spartan book. Maybe fix a deal with your supplements company to give your customers serious value on a ‘special bundle’. You could write a free bonus to go with it offering advice on when are the best times to consume each supplement.
Idea 4 (most profitable): Hire me as a freelancer for B&D to help come up with commercial strategy for your business.

Check out a site called teespring.com It allows you to design, sell and ship t-shirts to customers. Put some of your slogans like “eat steaks, lift weights” on Tee-shirts and your B&D fans will go nuts for them. All you have to do is design them which you could easily outsource on Fiverr; set up the FB campaigns and sell them through your FB page.

I think that one of the absolute best things you could do to increase profitability on your site is to focus on creating more ebooks, workouts and other products. I would take that a step farther and say that you could also include Udemy courses or other video courses in the B&D repertoire. Based off of your content some courses I would personally love to see would be
1) Becoming Billy Badass: A Man’s Guide to Taking Control of his life (or some other title. Basically a course that delves into the mindsets and core philosophies that you hold which span all areas of health wealth and relationships.This could be in the form of an ebook or video series)
2) Business of a Spartan: The No Frills Guide to Building a Lucrative Online Business Like One of the 300. (basically the financial equivalent of BOS, this would be a similar guide to setting up, launching and maintaining an internet business based off of your experiences)
3) Life of a Spartan: (a very similar title to #1 but different in the sense that it focuses on the culmination of practical and actionable information vs mindset…e.g. geoarbitrage, minimalism etx)
My second idea is to build a B&D mastermind where we have monthly hangouts and members get access to premium content that regular users don’t. You could do an up front payment or a recurring monthly payment, works either way.

Good idea on the mastermind.
Basically udemy is like an online “school” of sorts. People can create video courses on any topic and then sell it to the public. For example the courses I currently have are Podcast Blueprint (which covers a-z podcasting) a writing course and a link building course. So there’s a lot of variety in what you can do and based off of what my mentors have said its fairly lucrative
Create a fitness video regime similar to P90X or BodyBeast that you can pay and stream through your site. Make it badass (B&D style, of course) Something I can stream through my phone so I can do the badass workouts anywhere. At home or at the gym! Just got done doing a P90X workout so I thought it’d be a good idea to see something similar with Victor Pride as host rather than Tony Horton’s corny ass.
Vic I was looking at the site,,maybe I wasn’t looking hard enough or looked over it,,, but what do you have in place for the older adult (elderly) who wants to be bad ass built? There are alot of the elderly who definitely want that but the routine is too much initially.

Had this idea a couple weeks ago. I saw your new ad on thefastlaneforum, which was a great move, but there’s a couple things you can do to get more readers and more sales from this advertisement.
Right now, people click on the ad and come to your homepage. This is okay, and visitors still could turn into loyal readers because your site is so great, but there’s a couple ways you could increase the chances of a visitor turning into loyal, long-term readers who will eventually purchase your products and make you more money.
The demographic/interest fit with the fastlane forum is perfect for your blog (I found your site through the forum 2-3 years ago).
First, you could send them to the “New? Start here” page so they understand exactly who you are and what your site is about, and you could point them directly to your most popular pages from there. This is better than sending them to the home page because you’re now sending visitors to the information and pages they will connect with and like most, as opposed to letting them find it themselves from the home page.
Second option is you could send them directly to 1 single post that would be very popular with them. The first post I saw when I was referred from the fastlane forum 2-3 years ago was “The 21 rules of the rich”. I was sent to a specific page and eventually became a loyal reader. If I just stumbled upon your home page, I’m not so sure I would read as much or stuck around.
Third option is you could send the visitors directly to your 30DOD page and sell them that. I know personally from seeing the large number of clueless posts on there that many of them need 30DOD. I know it’s not something you do with your products, but you could even offer a special discount for the fastlane forum (10-15% off?) from this ad.
And it goes without saying that you’d need to adjust your creative to be more specific for the page you’re sending them to. Either way, the demographic and interest is definitely a great fit with this ad, but I believe you could get more loyal readers and more sales from the forum by being more specific.
IDEA #2 (My favorite)
BAD Academy™ (a permanent coworking space in Saigon)
There’s several coworking spaces in places like Saigon, but none like this. Many of your readers would love to move to Vietnam and do nothing but work on a business of their own 24/7.
So here’s the idea.
Either use your own place, or rent/buy another place to rent out to aspiring BAD Academy™ students for a monthly fee as a permanent coworking space - somewhere they can eat, sleep, and work on their businesses 24/7, and do it with a group of other BAD Academy™ students who want nothing but the same things as them: freedom, money, building a BADass body at the gym every morning, and a business of their own.
Imagine this.
Imagine a group of 5-10 people (you could take applications or something and pick only the real winners) who are all living 30DOD, taking Modafinil, and killing it every motherfucking day.
All you would have to do is organize the whole thing, collect the monthly payments, and maybe stop in once every week or two or whenever you wanted to help some of them out if you wanted. BAD Academy™ and Professor Pride with whole Army of BAD soldiers working together to get shit done.
If anyone is slacking, he either gets it together or he’s out. Gone. Doesn’t matter if it’s a blog, an ecommerce business or what. As long as he’s working his ass off, and getting shit done.
You would give the students a productive environment like no other on Earth, and build a whole new network yourself. This would be truly taking your empire to the next level.
THE NUMBERS
Say you rented out a separate place to use: I’m not too sure of prices there but say you got a 6 bedroom place around $2000 a month.
You rented it with 2 people/ bedroom at $1000 per month. That would be 12 people and $10,000 per month profit.
You could always go with a bigger place or more people and make more money, or you could get creative and be a “Shark” like Mark Cuban, offering a lower rent in exchange for equity in the businesses started there. You would eventually have a little bit of equity in a large number of businesses and be bigger than you ever imagined.
Or you could take a certain % of their profits for the first year or two of the business. (See appacademy.io)
The profit potential for this could be huge, but it would be about so much more than the money. You would make your empire bigger than ever and leave a huge, lasting impact on the world.

Spartan smart watch: If you want to really get your fingers “dirty” with money, then there is a HUGE market for those things right now. You don’t have to fit all sorts of neato things in there, just a waterproof smart watch that can kick the person’s ass if they’re falling behind in their goals…some people think that it’s worth the ‘investment’ but if that ain’t your cup of tea then oh well…
You can stylize your BAD nation and give them a reason to live like a Spartan.

1) When a person is committing to your 30 days of discipline routine they would want something complementary to go along with it. This could be something that nudges them in the right direction when they’re off track, the way they do that is by presetting their goals and ideal achievement(s) or milestones they would like to see in a certain period of time.
2) A “smart” watch really is just a monitor for someone to keep themselves in check. Of course not everyone can or will follow 100% of the time with their ‘set’ goals, but it would give them plenty of “motivation” (since money is a big motivator) because they have now invested in their self-improvement.
3) Smart (Spartan) Watch will tell you the time, heart rate, your schedule for the day, and possibly a few extra tidbits like answering calls or sending text messages for you. That means people will be less likely inclined to keep looking at their bulky cellphones and would appreciate the convenience of a readily available smart monitor that does more than just electrucute them when they’re not sitting straight.

I know that this is intended to young men (millennials) like me, but I believe your content can be GREAT for our future generations. Just like your SPARTAN ideology, people must be taught these principals as YOUNG so they can grow to be GREAT LEADERS and not to surrender to others. Many people do NOT like your content, but the ones that stay around love it and live it. I do not know if you have family plans in the future, but I will love to teach your principals into my kids. It would be a different audience, but it would give you more market and ultimate, better chances to increase the BAD generation in the future. This may not be a great idea, but I just wanted you to have this small thought in mind.

What I think you should do is create some sort of place on your site, almost like a chat room, that people can go and leave a question or idea. Then people from everywhere can help them or answer their question.

Charge for an entire year early by credit card, so your readers will pay for the all year and you will make money faster.
A simple idea is to train coaches to do in person what you do on paper. Then send them out under the B&D brand to train guys that want intensive ass kicking and charge money for it. You pay the coaches a percentage and keep the rest.

I would suggest you to start e-Magazine. Why? Let me give you the detailed analysis. For explanation purposes, let me call this Bold and Determined as Business and its viewers / Subscribers as Customers.
Creating a premium content (As suggested by Vernon - other fellow commenter) and charging for it specially makes this blog seem not friendly to new Customers. Because, think about it, We know the worth of your content, but not new viewers. (To explain this simply, new viewers don’t buy your books immediately after knowing about your blog. They will later on, after reading your content and realizing that what you’re preaching is THE reality. Then only they are convinced to buy your Books.)
And it not usual for a blog to make it a paid subscription blog, whether it may be written blog or a Video blog in YouTube. These are items expected to be free.
But, by launching a magazine you could do the same. I.e. Write exclusive content and get paid for it. You can charge for it and people won’t perceive it as the same thing. Because, its another product of BAD World. Just like other things people already pay for I.e. your eBooks, BADWEAR and BADNET.
And by launching the magazine you will have different opportunities like publishing Ads for your own products. You can publish new designs arrived at BADWEAR. You can promote this magazine by providing discounts for your other products to magazine subscribers only. Thus promoting the sales of both the magazine and your other products. And you can sell your magazine in many places like iTunes App Store Newsstand and Google Play Newsstand. You can consider selling your books in Google PlayStore and iTunes Appstore. As you said you are making an App, you can add this as a feature of Paid Version of the App. (Yeah, create app with free and paid versions if you want to.) Take your pick, there are many opportunities.
( For ads, you can provide hyperlinks just like you do in this blog, for your eBooks, other posts etc. Because, its an eMagazine. If you are thinking about an opening for advertising outside content, you could do that too. As you don’t do that in this blog.)
As for the content of the blog, you can write about suggestions for aspiring bloggers. What do you do when you have a writers block, write about your journey to achieving this stage instead of doing it in podcasts. Why? Because people want to hear your story. Here I just gave my suggestions, you pick your content. You’re the content writer.

Pk (The same guy who suggested Spartan Mug) suggested you to conduct competitions for printing on T-shirts (Slogans or Image, etc.) I would recommend the Idea of asking for T-shirt Designs. But not as a competition. Just ask people to send designs. If you choose to print them, pay them. This will encourage people to send more designs.
And I know you are already thinking about Spartan Mug. So, to add to that, do consider different products like Gym Gloves, Knee Wraps etc.
P.S: I’m from India. I don’t use a Paypal account. The point is, Whether you pay or not if I win this, doesn’t concern me much. Because I did this as my contribution to B&D for the motivation and knowledge I received from it. ( But I’m not going to lie, $500 converted in Indian Currency is always welcome. Haha.)

1. Sell Adrafinil.
While Modafinil is FDA regulated and needs a prescription here in the US, Adrafinil does not require either. You could package it under your own brand-name and then resell it.
- Why? I didn’t know about Modafinil until you wrote about it. As a consumer I would rather buy these exotic supplements from a brand who has vetted the source, the quality and the ingredients. So while I (and many other consumers) feel comfortable buying generic aspirin, I do not want to buy generic modafinil/adrafinil. We’d rather have pay a trusted source to vet it and sell it.
- You could develop the product even further by adding B-vitamins, caffeine, etc. and turn it into your own branded, pre-workout product, general-awakeness product for entrepreneurs, and more.
2. Sell branded kettlebells.
I’ve seen the popularity of kettlebells rise and their retail prices seem to leave a plenty profit margin. Everyone can own one of these things at their home. These would be perfect for your target demographic because they are compact and fit in any guy’s dorm-room, apartment or condo. - At the least, I’m sure you could find the manufacturer of this kettlebell and customize the shape, color, branding etc. This would save you from having to develop your own factory cast. Or instead of red paint, you could go with a red vinyl grip.

I design(well, offshore designers actually make my designs)/sell t-shirts online for a living at the moment (better than a “real” job), and with your mailing list and loyal following, you could bring in $10K+ in a week if you:
1. Hire a skilled designer to make a new B&D shirt, a kick-ass design (you can find one via oDesk or do something like 99designs)
2. Upload the design via http://teespring.com/invites/uymhyq (that’s my referral link meaning I’d get $1 per shirt you sell, FYI, but you can otherwise just go to teespring.com and set up a free account)
3. Email your list and make a blog post about the new design (I would recommend offering a discount code for email subscribers).
4. Make $10-$20 per shirt (hoodies and other styles also offered) for the campaign, depending on your price points, relaunch it a couple times, then just add the new design to your B&D store.
Whenever I see a popular website with a passionate group of followers, I see money wasted when they don’t continuously offer shirts via a site like teespring.
Have your articles converted to into audio recordings by a professional voice actor, and upload them to iTunes as a podcast so readers can listen to your articles on the go.
For your most popular articles, add some decent music behind them and create a “lyric video” like bands do with the voiceover (eg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RGGYtMy6oAs).

My business recommendation is that you re-purpose your content so that you get MORE out of what you’ve already got.
One blog article can be made into a visually arresting infographic. One blog article can be spun into 10 visually arresting picture quotes.
My guess is that you have 250 articles.
That could become 250 infographics, 2500 picture quotes.
Share these on the internet (I recommend Pinterest) and all of a sudden you have 2750 extra salesmen working 24/7 directing people back to your website. That’s a shit load of extra traffic being sent your way all day every day. More traffic more sales.
These salesmen will then be duplicated every time someone re-shares or re-pins your graphics.

You have talked about diet (food), living abroad for cheap (shelter), choosing the right wife (relationships), self-defense (security), friendship and collaboration with Mike and Chris (friendship, obviously), things that a father should teach his son (family and manliness) and money (which covers pretty much all of these needs). Hell, you have even covered self-actualization many times.
Yet, you are losing tons of potential readers (and revenue generated by said readers…) by omitting to make more posts dedicated to the innate desire to stick one’s penis into a vagina.
I know that you have made an article about harnessing your sexual energy and you have talked about picking the right partner, but these articles don’t actually talk about intercourse per se.
Thousands of young males see you as an authority, and I can guarantee you that articles talking about intercourse on Bold and Determined will increase the reader’s attention towards your blog.

You can sell your shirts there, charge membership fees. Shoot, like someone said sponsor an MMA fighter, why not create one? You can probably even hold special “Body of a Spartan” classes that cost a little extra. And if you want to keep going with the gym, build a restaurant inside with nothing but steak and eggs.
Also another thing you can do is keep doing what you’re doing right now.
Pay someone $500 to come up with an idea for your business. There’s always someone looking for quick cash (like me), plus some people are really sharp, especially when money is the reward. They come up with a great profitable business idea, you pay them for their thinking, implement that idea, and increase your profits some more.
Just my opinion Vic, Bold and determined stickers (different sizes) that can be place in Gyms, Cars, Laptops etc.It’s great to spread the philosophy or messages of B&D in different places.

Monthly/quarterly webinars could be a very good way to connect with all of us who sign up for your updates. In these webinars you could provide us more information about simple stuff: I know a lot of people within their early 20’s don’t know simple shit when it comes to managing finances, taxes, going over different financial plans and even to the basics of how to save and penny pinch in any sort of way possible. It seems like you target this demographic very well and by speaking to us about achieving the goal of financial independence could be a hit for B&D viewers.
Also have you ever considered creating brand reps? I know someone mentioned people who embody the B&D lifestyle that could write for the site under different sections, which is cool but lets take it a step further. Not only would you hand select these people via application or on your travels, but after selecting the people you want repping your brand (which could be on an international scale) you give them different things from badwear that they can rep. Not only do they get the benefit of some badass gear, they also get to learn more tools of the trade that you could provide to them through a brand rep portal or listserv. Heck one of those people if they go above and beyond the call of duty and exceed to your standard could work for you one day. But if you want to grow B&D even more you need people who not only embody B&D but who want to grow your blog into a lifestyle.
I have an 2 ideas victor pride
Create a section in your website that is for exclusive members that pay a single fee of 20 dollars and give them a section where members can discuss 30 days of discpline and body of a spartan plus future releases. Members recieve a free ebook about bodybuilding and buisness or something else. Point is that you have to put in something that make members feel good and different from “free come and go” guys.
Also one idea i had since the dawn of time and it is that you must put a forum where readers can ask questions and discuss it between themselves but you must ban feminazis for it to work. It gives you a edge in many ways.
P.S: Put more videos on youtube and more podcasts because many people like me listen to it while we are moving from one place to another.

I think you should write a book that does two things.
1. condenses your philosophy into a streamlined and comprehensive manifesto-. “The Pride Manifesto” (i.e. life, lifting, talking to women, making money etc.)
2. Creates daily challenges in each of these areas and helps the reader evaluate which areas they are strong or weak in.
You could create a contest with these challenges in mind to get people actively involved and form a community around the progress people are making.

The best thing you could do, hands down, is to hire me to proofread your posts. As inspirational and powerful as they are, there are a frightening amount of punctuation/spelling/grammar errors. I don’t think it really detracts from your message. Your writing is strong. I do think it would be stronger, though, with my help. That’s the only weak point in your entire operation.
Dude doesn’t want to spend money where not really necessary. What’s the point in paying to take something from 99% right to 100%? PS. I already offered to do this for him.
Offer a two week boot camp in the summer with total immersion in the B + D philosophy, mental and physical discipline you could straighten out a lot of people and make a lot of money doing it.

The blog is great, but the thing that you are really selling to people is a lifestyle. The blog is just the distribution channel.
So why not add another more personal distribution channel, by starting B&DCon?
I like to think of the idea as of Ted Talks, Victor Pride, and ComicCon all meeting and having a baby. You host a conference, on your local turf or back in the states. You and other red pill guys you know can gives talks about the various topics that you blog about. You bring in some guys that you respect to give some classes on weightlifting, marketing, riding motorcycles, or whatever else. Limited VIP tickets that let you get to go out on the town with the speakers. It is a great time.
How it makes money: Charge for the tickets, charge some companies to have booths/marketing/sponsorship.
How it scales: You can scale a conference up easily, and it is possible to start small.
Why it is fun: You can do what you like (spread your lifestyle) and you can hire other people to do the dirty work.
How it adds value: The same reason people pay to go to any conference. They get to learn, be entertained, and get personal exposure to people they want to emulate.
I will let your interns run the numbers to see if they think it is viable from a financial perspective.

Spartan Life Coach…you could also train others on your staff to offer Spartan advice and the coaching fee would range depending on the coach. Your fee would be the most expensive, but others on your team could charge a fee to coach. More residual income for you.
I’ve been an avid reader of your website for some time now. You’ve definitely opened up my eyes to having a strong mind-set and being self disciplined. Thanks to you I see the world differently now. I have a couple ideas about things that I’d like to learn more about but just don’t know where to get more information.
My idea is, Eat Like A Spartan. I’ve been trying to eat healthy since age 20 and I’ve tried several different diets to build muscle and stay lean. I’ve tried eating raw, vegetarian and sticking to a paleo diet. Each diet has its benefits and drawbacks and I eventually found something that works for me. I’m definitely not as big as you but I get a lot of compliments on my physique. My point is, I’d be interested in learning more about how and what you eat. A lot of your readers trust you and I’d bet they’re interested in learning about your eating habits. Eat Like A Spartan would teach the readers about staying away from junk food that has no nutritional value, as well as foods that are packed with chemicals/hormones. This book would break it down on a straight forward and less wordy manner than a lot of books on sale. The book would also feature some of your go-to meals.
Real testimonials sell.
Offer something like a t-shirt that says “Im bold and determined” on the back when someone completes and sends before and after pics from 30dod / body of a spartan. This is similar to the insanity program or p90x.
People love to see results. There is something inspiring about someone changing there life.

On day 3 of 30 Days of Discipline. Been following Body of a Spartan (only lifting 2-3 days a week so far unfortunately, upping it soon though) since the end of march. In the past few months I have gained 20 lbs of muscle. I’m glad I don’t have any embarrassing pictures of my emaciated 140lbs skeleton self, but I’ll use the very beginning of DOD as my “befores” and you’ll see the “afters.” Here’s to gaining 20 more lbs of muscle.
Do a reality tv show. Most reality tv shows are shit, and everyone on them becomes famous for providing nothing of value to society. So why not make one that breaks the mold? One where you get to reveal yourself to your audience on your terms. The ideas are endless: it could have travel, right and wrong ways to work out, humorous interactions with haters, demonstrations of your philosophy on life, all within the context of the show. You could also mentor people on the show, or evaluate business ideas people bring you and choose whether or not you want to invest.
Or you could sell WWVPD bracelets…
Actually, we had a reality tv show planned where we would mentor 10 interns. We came to our senses and didn’t do it.
Easy. With each of your articles leave us one thing readers can do, right away, to implement the lessons of that article.

Great article Victor. I’m never annoyed by getting your email notifications on valuable resources. Here’s my idea(s):
1) If you have not already, stop requiring customers to make an account to buy badwear merchandise. Guest accounts should work fine. This will create more conversions, cause less people to be annoyed, or both.
2) For badwear: Have specials/discounts on your merchandise more often (once every month or two, or whatever). This will attract more buyer’s and sales will go up.
3) Use an autoresponder for newsletter subscribers. This systematically sends out pre-written content to the subscriber over time which will get them hooked and cause them to want to buy something from you eventually. This acts like an introduction to your brand and ideas without them having to check your blog constantly. It’s a one and done operation pretty much.
Hey Victor, first off I would just like to say thanks for the endless amounts of motivation and inspiration that you have supplied to me and all your other followers. I’ve started my own blog with your guidance and I’m enjoying it quite a bit.
Here’s my idea: A while back you wrote a post titled “The Gentlemen’s Guide to Modern American Dating” that read sort of like a short story. At the end it said “To be continued” but I have not seen any continuation of this. Perhaps I missed it. Anyway, the post was really cool and in it you demonstrated the ability to tell a rather interesting story that would most likely appeal to men. Why not extend this post into a short book. You have spoken about how easy it is to publish your own book these days.
I admit, this idea would require quite a bit of work on your part, but it may open doors that you previously did not know you could open as a writer.

To the community; Shit y’all. So many fan-fucking-tastic ideas. I may even steal a few for myself. Each one of you inspires me to be better.
But how to make such a great thing better? God knows I ain’t in the best place to extrapolate, but I’ll take a stab.
#1 It seems to me, and I sure as hell did it this way, that 30DOD and BOAS go together. 30DOD certainly made BOAS easier for me, and kept me on track. During those days, I got out a calendar and wrote down, on every day what I was doing fro 30DOD and what workout I had from BOAS. My suggestion then, would be to make a print out calendar for 30DOD that includes the workouts for BOAS, and an inspirational BAD quote (i.e. “Eat some steaks, lift some weights”) or quote from successful, strong men (Thomas Jefferson, Dale Carnegie, Arnold Schwarzenegger, etc). This alone may not increase profit. I’d argue, however, it would make for a better, more actionable product. I love e-books, and I did print yours out. But it became cumbersome after a time and I switched to my own calendar. This would also open up (assuming success) the avenue for a whole BAD yearly calendar, or notebook (like a moleskin).
Further, your community is one of your biggest strengths. Have them help you market the new calendar. Every day, take a picture of your progress, tag BAD, #bodyofaspartan or some such, and use the best successes/ transformations for further marketing. This increases social media exposure, garners views from some of the fringe audiences you don’t have time/money to reach (but would buy your product), and increase the strength of the growing BadAss community.
Minimal time and money investment, potentially big return.
#2 Completely different idea. Among my favorite articles of yours, is the one you wrote about playing music. It’s fun, powerful, and insightful. Blogging is now your art. But I bet (judging by the pics of guitars I’ve seen on the site) that you never gave up music. The suggestion? Do like Dr. Dre. Start up a more creatively-driven part of BADWorld (BADArts?) and produce music, art, and video. User content (or your own) expands upon what BADNet does by providing web templates, demo videos, music, etc. There are tons of different ways to go about this particular project. None of them obvious or easy probably. The initial investment would be pretty grand. But the final payout could be mind-blowing. You obviously inspire people to create. This is obviously not a super-thought out idea. But I think there lies some potential here… Maybe a few dragons to slay.

You should place consideration into creating a plethora of several new merchandise into your store. Some of these examples could be a printed copy of your “Body of a Spartan” book, coffee mugs, posters, stickers, phone cases, and etc. You could get companies to let you to voice an advertisement on your podcast (Audibles does this by giving users free 30 day trials buy entering a promo code) Last and not least, you can apply for an amazon link that allows your readers to purchase, you’ll get a small percentage from their purchases, just by linking it on your website.
Talk about all the supplements you take and put up some affiliate links. Just heard you mention a few in a podcast ( Dandelion oil I think? ) and I’m sure your readers/listeners wouldn’t mind giving you a bit of commission and having the items conveniently located on your site.

I’m not sure if you still do, but I know you’ve read Smart Passive Income before. I don’t have the link to the article but one of his articles shows that by upgrading to the “Pay Pal Pro version” or whatever it is so that you can directly accept credit cards increases your sales by a drastic amount.

You know, I’ve been a long time reader of your site and I know you’re probably going to pass on most of these BS ideas because well they’re just not profitable enough. Give me a second, and I might just change your life.
Once upon a time I saw this guy Armando Montelongo who hosts real estate conventions to people who want to make money in real estate. These people are your everyday run of the mill people going to this mans “idea seminar,” because they believe they will get rich. Tons and tons of people go to his conventions and buy his product, but why? Because word of mouth travels, and if you can get people to tell their friends about a “great way to make money,” they’ll follow like sheep because they will trust their friends before some shady guy on an infomercial.
Just look at companies like “Herbalife,” they’re MLM’s and there most definitely frauds but yet they hear from there friends they can make money and they follow like sheep. Because they trust them, and without trust there is no sale.
Remember, “A fool is born every minute.”
The most hilarious part of this story is the fact that his verified income statements show he’s only made 180K doing what he preaches will make people rich overnight. Mr.Montelongo actually made closer to $200 million off of his infomercials & conventions etc. Selling informational products that are ineffective at best. He’s not good at real estate, but he’s smart at business and that’s why he’s got millions.

So here’s the plan to get rich…
Are you ready?
Step 1): formulate “get rich quick scheme,” doesn’t matter if you’re good or not. Can be anything like stocks, real estate, really anything just imagine it and people will eat it up. They’re sheep, remember?
Step 2): Create product. Whether it’s an ebook, dvd’s, personal coaching whatever. My personal idea would be to build it up to a touring empire with conventions & DvD’s etc. the whole nine yards.
Step 3): You’ve already got the following to start the product, so give out prizes online or wherever to make people interested. Just spread the word, but make sure they believe you! Be very enthusiastic lol
MOST IMPORTANT STEP:
Step 4): Make people pass the word of mouth that you’re teaching them to get rich. And, you can change their lives if they just take a minute and listen. But, since everyone thinks everyone is a scammer
make an incentivized program that if the person gets X number of friends to sign up they’ll get a $500 gift card or whatever you can give them.
(People love money lol)
This is really the golden egg part of the plan, because if they trust their friends they will automatically trust you. (Rapport is already built)
Step 5: Once large enough, and able to purchase ads then do it immediately!
Television commercials/Google Adwords/radio are very effective at reaching the target audience.(the average joe)
Invest in those venues of advertising to increase your capital(ROI), and get that message out like spam.
Step 6): Congratulations, you’re now a multi-millionaire.
Step 7): Rinse, repeat & grow larger and larger.
Extra tip: Invest in a PR clean up company for your product and name, because people will most likely Google search for things like “your product scam,” “your product reviews,” before they decide to buy so make damn sure there’s no loose ends.
This plan has been followed by many successful men, and it works.
But why? Because people are sheep meant to be led.
Oh & to follow up my last post, since I forgot the most important thing.
Once you’ve built up you’re empire enough, just hire employees to handle all of the work.
Simple residual income for life.
Have a contest where you get to read lots of ideas with people properly motivated. If 1% or less of them are good you are already winning. And for 500 only. Brilliant.

I have a few ideas which could be very successful.
Idea 1: Offer B & D seminars to people. People pay a fee to come and attend a seminar with you as the host. The seminars will offer information on:
-Purpose
-Business
-Success
-Training and health
The seminars will run over two days in a chosen city. B & D provides a venue (Function hall in a hotel for example) for the two days where the majority of the seminar takes place. A portion of the seminar could take place in the gym, showing persons effective ways to train. Attendees are responsible for accommodation, food and other expenses.
Cost per person of the seminar could easily be upwards of $800 US D. Effective rates could be worked out with attendance estimates.
Seminar could be designed to accommodate 20 - 30 people to provide a personal, hands on experience. B & D would invite guest speakers as well (Mike C and Chris from GLL) to share insights with attendees.
Seminars have the potential to bring in huge revenue. Seminars require little effort once the content has been created.
Idea 2: Continue to provide opportunities like you have in this article to B & D readers.

I haven’t read all the comments but if I would be in your position right now this is what I would do:
IDEA 1
Create a video series about the 30 Days of Discipline and sell it on Udemy. In addition, it could be a nice upsell for your existing product and Im sure people are willing to pay for it.
You’d be surprised how much money people spend on Udemy. I’ve seen ‘confidence’ courses with thousands of buyers that cost at least $200,- and are essentially nothing more than a couple of videos.
PRO’S: not too much diversification, extension of existing product, residual income, new target group, more sales, more money $$
CON’S: will require some upfront work (obviously:)
IDEA 2
Have a contest where people can be your apprentice. Then you would basically document the entire process (either via the blog or videos) of them going from being a nobody to a somebody with your guidance. After all, if you are really so confident about your ability to start an insanely profitable blog then you should also be able to teach your methods to a nobody and make them a success. It would give you more credibility than ever and would be great marketing wise.
Im the first to volunteer for this. I’d move to south-east asia in july asap.

I recently set up a blog through BADNET; super simple and it’s been going well. Thanks for offering that service.
As for my idea, here goes: A network of B&D coaches, for all areas of life: business, fitness, blogging, whatever areas you feel are most applicable to B&D. The main work would come in vetting the coaches, but that could be a one time process, aside from the coaches providing you with sales reports and the like. Of course, even then, there could be a manager in place to oversee that side of it. The coaches would be hired and accessed through B&D, but they would be responsible for marketing themselves outside of simply being listed on the main site. You could also have an offshoot site, similar to BADwear or BADNET. The coaches would be able to work remotely, through video or telephone conferences and e-mail, and they would manage their own clients. After the hiring process and setting it all up on the site, the work from you is done as far as I can see. That’s all I’ve got for right now, it will be interesting to see what you have to say about this.

1. A Google Chrome Home Page theme. I currently use one that has random quotes on it. Id much rather open my internet , see the Bold Wolf logo and have a motivational quote. You can simply use one of your employees to update this daily.
2.Much like the theme, a daily motivation quote email ( could be the same as the tab) would place Bold in everyones mind daily.
3. I used to get motivational texts daily from a supplement company. I fucking loved having those in my inbox when Id wake up.I also bought a shit ton of supplements from them.
None of these would bring direct cash flow , but IMO I tend to forget about your site for months at a time, this would solve all of those issues.
You may need 30 mins to an hour a week , to auto set up all of this for the week.
The best business idea for B&D would probably be to crowdsource business ideas from active readers in the form of a contest.
The people who comment are more likely to provide better ideas on how to improve B&D, since they’re your target audience, and essentially, future customers. The type of reader you attract is probably going to put in a little more work, otherwise why would they be visiting? Even if you don’t get any worthwhile ideas, it’s a way to get specific feedback to improve your business anyway. Either way, everyone benefits.
Offer a decent prize — enticing enough to elicit quality responses, but at the same time, just a drop in the bucket compared to the returns you’ll receive. Even the ideas that don’t win overall will still offer value: directly, by giving you something actionable and immediately profitable; or indirectly, by helping you develop new ideas in a more focused direction. You’re a business owner, you can outsource/get counsel for stuff like this and use your time/resources for something else.

Reflecting on it this morning I came to the conclusion that if I was in your shoes and had the platform that you had - the logical next step for achieving the highest leverage would be to franchise.
Maybe someone in the comment section has already mentioned this idea but regardless, here goes:
Out of what you have created the easiest and most logical part that you could franchise is Body Of A Spartan.
You can do this two ways:
You create a gym with programs in place that follow the principles/regiments found in BOS. You set they gym up exactly the way you want a gym to be - down to set up, training protocols,merchandise carried etc… You then clone it via franchises. Initially in the process you could even partner with a bank and have a source of financing available to assist those without capital to get started. Once its throwing off the cash you could ditch the bank and create a separate arm to Bad Enterprises - ( Bad Financial) whereby you finance the start up franchises. Simultaneously these gyms have the potential to be powerhouse marketing arms for both your B&D blog and merchandise. At that point you will have a system in place that has the potential to make you a billionaire.
The other less bold option is to create a BOS template that you sell to existing gyms. In turn you provide the initial training support for them to implement a BOS program at their gym. Sort of like some of the Cross Fit programs you see today here in the States. This is the easiest option but one with less control over the outcome and a not quite as high a financial return.
Either option, in my opinion will generate extremely high returns from what you currently have in place.
If implemented properly they have the potential to be Millionaire Fastlane type enterprises.

I am from Africa. I bought BOAS last year, but more than anything it is your blog and words of inspiration that have helped me become a better version of myself. I’m still trying to improve. This continent has a vast economic potential for your enterprise. The internet has become a vital blood link to all its nations. We are a fresh untapped market. However, the requirement on your end would mean a customisation of your BOAS. A new kind of workout and health fitness regime that is made for those of us on this continent who don’t have access to a gym or good food. It would mean you going back to basics, doing workouts with what the surrounding environment provides with little to no equipment and eating off the land. This would bring you to our level of existence, it would perhaps light a fire in your belly to see if you can inspire us to follow in your footsteps, it would show us that it doesn’t matter if we live in the 3rd world or the 1st, have a gym or not, have food or not, what matters is the heart and courage to transform and make a CHANGE.
You should expand Badwear’s offerings to include stationary. Things like pens, notebooks and maybe even calendars, all with the appropriate logos on. Or a boldanddetermined wall calendar with an inspirational picture & quote from your site for each month.
You could do some shameless cross selling too. For example 30DOD says you need a notebook, so here’s a chance to link to that product. Of course you should use your boldanddetermined branded pen to fill it in…
Given that I think there are companies which will add your branding to their stationary and ship it for you, this should be easy to set up, with virtually no risk at all.

My idea is just a simple one. Your site doesn’t *ask* for my email address or give me any incentive to add it into the sidebar.
The ‘SumoMe’ plugin from Appsumo.com allows you to set this up very quickly and start to build your list by popping up to offer visitors a download in return for their email address. This can be something as simple as a workout plan, or a mini e-book put together by expanding on one of your posts. Hardcore browsers love PDFs as it means we can save it on the desktop for reading later, rather than bookmarking yet another site.

2/3 Would be women. - Duplicate your current content and tailor it for visionary women.
3/3 would be the children of the visionary men and women. - This will build a future of customers that trust your company. Eventually B&D will outgrow you.
If the men a women that currently value your content begin to teach your methods to their children, you have longevity.
Think of B&D as your Apple II.

She picked a logo and slogan and ran with for years so that any new product under the brand umbrella was trusted.

1. Continue to capture large portions of small markets by tailoring similar content for women and eventually their children. Don’t make it so drastically different that the men here wouldn’t want to read it too.
What you do now is working. Just double down on it for different types of people.

3. Find out where the transition chasm from visionary men and women to the mainstream early adopters is located and prepare.

I’m sure a lot of your readers want the same types of websites. A personal blog, a blog where they can sell an info product, a small business website, etc.
Go through all of the websites that people who have used your service in the past have used and figure out what they are using their blogs for.
Then create 3-5 template sites that serve that purpose.
Create the templates on subdomains, like whineyblogger.badnet.com wannabeeinternetmarketer.badnet.com, megalomaniacdiary.badnet.com, etc, so that people can see exactly what they get.
Use themes that come with a developers license of Studiopress and set them up on subdomains. Tweak them a little so that they work better for the purposes that your past clients have used them for.

This idea will take maybe a week to set up. If you charge $249 for this service and 1 in 4 people buy it then you’ll effectively double your revenue.

Your interns are probably spending 5 minutes with each wordpress setup you do on Badnet to get the plugins installed when they could be spending 1 with this plugin.

I read a lot of ideas above and would like to suggest you some :
1) You should allow guest posts on your site. Later you can choose and allow the posts you think are good. This will enable those people to speak up their mind who don’t have a website of their own. In this way your site will contain many new loaded articles.
2) You should start a magazine or something like that (in hard copy) and publish them. You can publish your kickass posts and you should publish your eBook also.
One thing that I missed is domain authority score. Go to (https://moz.com/researchtools) and have a look at your domain authority score. It is 41. You can improve this score and Google will rank you up in search results.

Here’s exactly how you do it:
1. Upload e-book on amazon.com
2. Optionally: upload e-book onto createspace.com and publish it as print paperback book (Createspace is an Amazon company, producing books via print-on-demand. A book is printed only when it’s ordered on Amazon and Createspace/Amazon takes care of shipping. No costs for the author/publisher.)

Source the digital photo frames from a manufacturer in China. Compile a list of 100 of your favorite quotes. Hire a graphic designer to put those quotes to some nice background images. Then load those 100 images into the picture frame and sell it as a “Motivational Digital Picture Frame” Get BoldandDetermined.com printed on the frame as well for branding.
While you may not make a ton of money on the original product, you could make a killing on the back-end.
After a customer purchases the photo frame, you could have them automatically subscribe to monthly updates. ou have a lot of great products already. However, I assume most readers don’t buy or use all of them.
By organising all of B&D’s products, as well as those of your affiliates and friends such as Mike C and Chris at GLL, into a long term self improvement project for men you can maximise the amount of products each reader buys. Think of it as a large scale version of 30DOD.
Give it a name, Project Badass. A one or two year plan for men to become the best they can. Many guys see you as a role model and want to emulate your success. This will be a path to get them a lot of the way there.
Another poster mentioned taking your free posts and turning them into a free webinar. This would be the starting point for Project Badass. It would explain the B&D mindset, introduce them to diets, Spartan living, lifting, entrepreneurship etc. This could be on the New here page.
At the end of the webinar, they are motivated and interested. The next part of the program is 30DOD. At the end of 30DOD they are now disciplined, motivated and have invested serious effort in the program. They can see the potential.
The next step would split into three streams; bodybuilding, business and mindset.

Contemplating ideas that would be both profitable and require as little work as possible, I returned to your blog posts for inspiration. The written/typed word holds power. Reading powerful words inspires; like an affirmation.
The process of repetition helps us learn. What I have found useful in the past and in the present is to repeat certain phrases, quotes, or ideas to learn their premise and apply them. Your writings, as evidenced by your many followers, have inspired a great deal and offer an ideology, rather than a blueprint to success.
What you do may not be work for someone else. Success should be tailored to the individual and their own strengths and capabilities. The best way to find success is to look within yourself for the answers, opposed to something external.
To the point now. Sift through your many blog posts and find the best-of-the-best quotes. These will be the ones that emphasize your points and lessons the best. Compile them into one or all of the following products:
1) A 12 month calendar with a quote and a picture above the days/weeks page.
2) A series of customized plaques with B&D designs and logos with your trademark quotes. They can be hung on peoples walls, in their home gym; kitchen; bathroom; etc., as a focusing tool ……

You could also create a book (e-book or pocket book) of rebuttals. Essentially, words/phrases to say in various circumstances. Remember the movie Boiler Room? One of the supporting cast referenced someone he knew (a stockbroker) who had a book of rebuttals he used for the best answers to people’s “fuck-off rebuttals”.
Admittedly, the third idea takes more work and thought. I believe the the first two are solid, though, and wouldn’t require much effort to launch.

I have been a regular visitor of B&D for quite some time and, frankly I have seen it come full circle. The basics have been taught, the ultimate real hard truths of success and the elite have been made clear, all people have to do is search the archives and they will get the truths of the way the world works.
However the problem nowdays is that people are flooded with information, too much information is like having none at all, you don’t learn anything useful because the truths are in the same category as the trash. However after surfing the net for some time I found B&D and It got my attention, I finally started looking at it and understanding it in depth, It was like the world lost most of its wisdom but now it has been found again. Truths have been laid bare for all to see.
What it did to me it can do to others, what is missing is the recognition. More people need to know of it, so my idea of improving B&D is this:
Since all succesful brands in this world follow a certain philosophy, for example Mercedes benz gives you the feel no other car gets, the company has this philosophy of reliability, safety and pleasure of driving no other car brand quite gets, and this philosophy is manifested in the car the company creates. All successful companies have this rare trait, and that is what makes them so successful. So what I feel B&D is missing? The product. It’s philosophy is perfect but I feel You need to channel all that B&D represents in a global products, be them digital or bricks and mortar, so people can have and enjoy them.
Surely the T shirts, mugs and all that is nice but you need to step it up a notch. I belive ideas like Bold and Determined gyms the use you’re ideas as a set of rules for guidance but its people can develop their own styles would certainly improve you’re income. Normaly people can use this on their own but it doesn’t make enough noise on the world to have people seeing and following you’re products, so no publicity. Instead this kind of gyms would have these specific instructions on workout or diets as well as equipment that you yourself follow and thus it would become a gym subculture that will no doubt attract media and a lot of attention to bad net as well as income from this chain of gyms. So this is why I believe setting up your own gym chain that lf course follows you’re methods ans teachings be a good idea.
Second, a hard paperback book depicting all B&D represents, workouts, diets and its philosophy (aside from your 2 ebooks, im talking about your experiences and somewhat viewpoints additionally). I believe that a hard paperback book as well as an e- version of it will attract people from all over when they see and read your book. No doubt it will spark some controversy between feminist or groups like that but I believe it would have the same effect that “kick dirt in the face of a feminist’ article had, people with brains( the majority) will agree and it will become popular.
Another idea I have is finding a way of making your work more like a trend to get a broader audience, I don’t excatly know how because I just read this article but maybe by giving it more publicity, like having young successful entrepreneurs that followed B&D advertise your website, among other ways. Maybe having it go viral though I am a supporter of more honorable ways.
Thats all I can think of now Vic, the bottom line is develop a more real product like books and gyms, or at least polish you’re merchandise more as well as dont forget about the publicity. Also I am not a big fan of sharing on social media or going viral because let’s be honest, B&D readers don’t waste time writing BS on the internet, idiots do and they do ot a lot, you see Justin Beiber and cat videos go viral but not important issues. I mean both entrepreneur and bodybuilding successes, will certainly give facts to support you’re philosophy, and you don’t have to be the only example. So this idea is to show the world B&D works for everyone not just a certain group of people, it works for everyone that has the will to succeed.

Basic idea: More A/V. I’ve seen your videos and I like them, more wouldn’t be a bad thing. I really like the podcast/text combo, a clip with every one of them would be fire. Images only go so far. They obviously work, but I think you have the ability to really make some cool videos, especially given your location. People need to see it alive to really understand.
Indepth idea: Mini-documentaries of the men who became something because of B&D. Maybe just more videos, period. You don’t need to show people who you are all the time, but not only is your voice unique and your presence great, it only magnifies what all this is, you.
At the same time, some readers may benefit from not only seeing how you benefit (from watching the videos), but to see how other people that aren’t you, yet who were able to reach great heights while exploring personal boundaries and fears that had to be overcome, really get people emotionally invested and connected. Something simple under five minutes yet show how high this rocket can fly.
Possibly another winner came to mind. Create a test. This test is used to profile a consumer. It would be to used identify weaknesses in an individual. It is a test taken online and charged as a one-time only fee.
It can be used as a precursor to navigating your site. Perhaps, rather, a tool to point out things that are not so obvious to the reader. After all, no one can live the life of a wolf, thinking like a sheep.
The test itself would essentially be a personality assessment. Based on the answers, one would be given a customized assessment of their strengths and weaknesses, according to B&D standards. You could call it the Wolf Test, or whatever clever name you can think of.
The first thing you would do is create 20-50+ questions (the more questions asked, the more accurate the assessment). You set-up the answering format as multiple choice, or a number system that indicates how strongly someone feels about a statement or answer to a question (eg. 1-very strong, 2-strong, 3-somewhat, 4-not very strong, 5-not strong at all).
You can organize the questions into sections based on traits (eg. initiative, work ethic, practicality, etc.), but not reveal to the test taker why they are being asked certain questions (obviously). It is important to make the test specific to Bold & Determined. Otherwise, someone can simply go anywhere to get a personality assessment. This test should be created specifically to identify the wolves from the sheep and to point out to the sheep how to be wolves. This is done by linking people to specific products you sell (all of them!), or to affiliates that offer you commision for sending business their way.
The answers would be tallied using percentages. Each section scored using percents. Low percentages (below 70%) indicate traits that need to be strengthened, high percentages (70%+) indicate traits that are strong, but could be improved.
Just a thought. I always enjoyed personality tests. The accurate and reputable ones, that is. Many people do not, because tests tell you how it is, not how you would like it to be. Just as you do, Victor.

Searching in Google for the articles on boldanddetermined.com I can see that all the descriptions of your articles since two years start with “From the desk of Victor Pride. Subj: ” and they contain a line “————”.
This is because you haven’t set a meta-description tag in the html of your articles, so Google takes the content of your article and uses it as the default meta-description.
The problem is that there are two rows that Google displays as a “teaser” to any link, and the two tokens above waste about 35% of that space, so anybody that is searching online for some information could be taken aback from clicking because it could not be so clear that there is quality content here.
The solution is a little work but it could mean some more clicking (not indexing, meta description tags don’t influence it). Use a SEO module to convert the content of your articles in the meta-description tag REMOVING the tokens above, so you can have all quality content on your Google results.
Help those of us who have got a little lazy or busy or whatever excuse we can find to NOT of started burning of the fat crap around our guts and get training hard again…
A simple, 6 week / 6 photo-updated, “before and after” style competition that will serve the DUAL purpose of trying to win your competition by the most impressive physical change/improvement/weight-loss or whatever similar goals achieved… but at the SAME time, the SPIRIT of what B&D stands for or encourages & that is the “just get off your backside and work hard on yourself and just MAKE IT BLOODY HAPPEN !” …

It is simple. It is strong… and it puts out there a message so loud and clear that words are hardly required. I imagine that with such a high level of traffic you do well with front end sales and affiliate sales to the products you recommend and have created.
Having said that I think a lucrative profit stream for B&D is to have a subscription based part of your website.
I think it would be very lucrative for you to charge anywhere from $5-$50/month to have access to articles you write that are more in depth or “how to” on specific subjects and topics as well as answering more in depth, specific questions.
I’m sure it would be a worthy investment for us, your readers to pay for such knowledge as well as “a look behind the curtain” of what goes on with you and B&D.
I would do a special charter member pricing that is open only to your email list for the first 2,000 members. I would write a blog post about it and tease the launch of your inner circle area which would prompt many readers to subscribe to your email list that aren’t already.
The initial launch I can see generating a very significant revenue increase that is a recurring income rather than one off purchases.

An automated membership site in which you set up a training regime for people to follow which teaches them how to improve their lives. They pay for access to the academy and each day/week you give them specific tasks/exercises to do. I would propose a ‘Bold and Determined Apprentice Scheme’; every few months or so a handful of hopefuls from a range of backgrounds arrive with little more than the clothes they wear and a willingness to improve and learn. Maybe they are weak. Maybe they are lazy. The only thing they must have is a driving mindset that they need to improve.
They go through a ‘Fight Club’ esque bootcamp about what it means to truly kick ass. They learn the skills to survive in the modern world that everybody else tries so hard to hide from them. They read, they work out, they learn how to cook and sew and clean their clothes. They learn business skills and computer based skills. A sort of ‘French Foreign Leigon’ for the modern, non-militatarised guy.
It would benefit you, Victor, as you never know what talent you will find out there. I guarantee you will change a few lives in the process too.

What I find the most difficult is coming up with an attractive status or 140 character preamble to get people to click. So my idea is to get a “Bold and Determined” official hashtag. That way people who have visited your site recognize the hashtag and the great content associated with it, and if people don’t recognize the hashtag, they will be inclined to click. Other large sites have an official hashtag of some kind, so I thought this site would be cool to have one.

A lot of these ideas are great, but most of them require significant labor overhead from you. So here’s an idea that would require very little time from you once it’s up and running…
BAD Insider - I’m guessing you already have a sharp eye on business numbers with plenty of financial data at your fingertips. I’m also guessing that a good portion of your audience would salivate at the idea of seeing those numbers.
You could set up a paid monthly subscription where you let Insiders see numbers, trends, graphs, etc. from each income stream. You could provide insights into these numbers at your discretion, and give a short recap into what’s going on in the business. It would almost be a like a newsletter from a company to the shareholders (without all the corporate BS of course).
Since you probably already track these things, the main effort would be putting this in a nice, clean package (perhaps an HTML email or a PDF). You could pay someone to create an automated system that pulls various metrics (income, expenses, traffic, sales, etc.) into a sharp looking report, or you could simply hire someone to do this each month. Either way, YOUR only input would be directing this effort and providing business context (which is something you probably do anyway).
A lot of your readership has business mentality. Numbers help us make better business decisions, like predicting costs and seeing the most lucrative aspects of your business at any given time. Access to numbers from a big name in the game are invaluable.
This is a low risk venture with the potential for decent upside.
I think you could easily get 2-3% of your subscribers to pay $3/month for a subscription to BAD Insider. If you got just 1%, that’s 1900 x $3 x 12 = $6840/year for something that you can almost entirely automate. The main expenses would be initial development (or a few hours/month from a developer if you didn’t automate), and a few hours/month from you to oversee and provide high level insight.
In terms of traffic, you would attract a whole new demographic in addition to your normal readership.
Suppose I don’t want to read a blog, but I’m a blogger myself and I want data to make better business decisions. I see that you’re a very successful blogger, so I become a paying subscriber without even reading one article just so I can see those numbers.
A lot of bloggers do this, but they half ass it. Smartpassiveincome.com does “Monthly Income Reports” for free and it attracts many readers. However, to me, the way he presents numbers is messy and not that helpful. In a giant block of text, it displays profits and expenses month over month, which doesn’t give you the big picture view. He also rambles about non-business matters in there too, which gets annoying. You would stand out big time if you made a better version of this.
I’d personally pay $10/mo for a professional report that shows rich detail, trends, and presents data cleanly with valuable insights so I can skim it and make sense of it. I’m confident that getting under the hood of the BAD empire would be a game changer, especially for newer bloggers.

Those reviews can be the most helpful, which will bring you more traffic and even a special BADCOM code for Amazon shoppers.

They want original content that’s different and compelling - that’s you! But what shall it be called?
“30 DOD”? No BOAS.
“BOAS”? No 30DOD.
“Body of Discipline”? What does that even mean?
“30 Days to Spartan”? Too cheezy.
“Discipline of a Spartan”? YES.
But you are not the host of the show. You want to start taking steps toward increasing your freedom to sell the business, if and when.
Documentary-style footage of you and each contestant, who you are, where you came from, what you’ve been through. Interviews of you and each contestant, footage of you teaching and encouraging.
Five contestants, but they are not competing against each other; each one is competing against himself, his own weakness. (There could be female contestants. Maybe season 2?) They are learning/demonstrating discipline, its manifold effects, both physically and financially. This could certainly include entrepreneurs, but not necessarily only them.
This will have you reaching many potential customers who would otherwise probably never know you exist. That’s the whole purpose of the show, to drive traffic to your site(s).
IMO, the best bet at residual income is to piggyback on the hard work and ingenuity of your readership.
I consult for a company that, among other things, does the following:
1. You have a paid “business plan” workshop, where people bring their ideas, but preferably existing small businesses to you and you essentially guide them through a very fundamental business plan. They do all the work and research on their own.
2. During the workshop, you will often find 1 or 2 people that have an exceptional idea or existing business that either needs a little polish or capital. You can then offer to help them raise capital, in exchange for a pre-paid engagement fee of course.
3. You can invest yourself or find investors, and take a couple points off the top of whatever comes through. In the blogging business, it might look a little different. For you, monetary investment might not even be necessary. You could offer time or promotion on B&D in exchange for some kind of residual.
Basically, you get paid to do the workshop, which could be in the form of an online forum, etc, but the real value is that you’re in the position to get first crack at serious people with good ideas. You can be the guy making a few points for life on the on the hard work and ingenuity of a dozen other people.
You’ve got thousands of loyal readers, which means there have to be at least a dozen future millionaires in the lot. Why not get a monthly check from a few of them till you’re 80?
Give money away monthly — by doing a lottery. You keep a portion — and the rest goes to a monthly winner.

Some other examples of lessers:
1. Beta chumps hate players, you can see deep black envy in their eyes, when player gets a girl in front of them.
2. They hate their successful working colleagues, trying to stab them in the back, instead of improving their own skills.
3. They hate people earning more money than they do, not realizing that while they watch their football hypnotized in front of tv, other people work their ass off on side gig.
4. They complain on news site, how much people rich people steal and how is “not fair” that they don’t have money and how they should have what rich people have.
5. But, comes time for new smart phone, they will be first in line to wait hours to buy it, with their social welfare money (which is provided by rich).
You never hear successful people complain about other successful people, players about other players…
When I see or meet someone who’s game is more tight, has more money or some other success, not only I don’t get jealous, I get excited that I am in present of such person.
I have a friend who was one of best players I have ever met (too bad he got married now). Can’t count how many nights he would get girl in less than an hour, while I went home empty hands. But I was learning. Each time we would go out, I learned about his social skills, his approaches…, until “suddenly” I got to the point when I outnumbered him on many occasions.
Some goes for when I met people who had better body, more money or other success. I turned into one big eye and ear and LEARN.
But it seems so many people just don’t get it. It’s much easier to go sit at home on your sofa, turn on TV and watch sports (instead of doing it), put negative comments about successful people and generally hate the world.
That will make you better.
How about a “mastermind” video or podcast series? You record your focused discussion about a business related or other topic that fits B&D with at least one other person (the guest) who you knows more about that topic then you do. Broadcast it live and record it for playback later. Allow paid tier 1 subscribers to your site to participate live in that conversation. Format is similar to talk radio, but you are encouraging paid subscriptions this way, and adding a danger factor with the live broadcast that could be irresistible to many. As the show is being broadcast, any registered member can post comments and questions, which you may incorporate into the show. You will need the video broadcast tech to be top-shelf, a person who can be the “call screener” and producer to assist you to make this work, otherwise it could be a train wreck. If you get good quality discussions, you will be providing example of master mind principle in action though! And you will generate some nice content to keep people coming back to your site.
I thought of 2 ideas
1. Monthly webinars where you teach people how to run a business, workout or how to be an alpha. Have these webinars be to select people and charge a fee $20-$50 per person per webinar. Teach people how to succeed in life
2. B&D Supplement line- start with 1 or 2 labeled products that you whole heartedly believe in. Brand them as B&D and sell direct to your followers

I give you a few ideas. I’m a young guy (age 23) of a well rounded background in countless aspects of entrepreneurship. Call me a serial entrepreneur.. (I have created massive multi-player real time browser strategy games, 2 different profitable forums , opened a private school, an ambulance company, adult day care center, import/export business, marketing firm, construction company, manufacturing company in Europe, buy/sell hotels/motels, restaurant owner, buy/renovate/sell homes/office complexes/apartment buildings/yachts, created nutritional supplements, cigar manufacturing, affiliate marketing my own products, I write books that sell well too…) the list goes on, but that is what I enjoy doing more. Some of the above I do not even raise a finger to have running as they are- it is easy to employ someone to take your spot.. Some, I spend some time on weekly…but all passive for the great part of it. I can disappear today and tomorrow I’ll still have made money. I can disappear for 2.5 months (my usual vacation time during the summer) and I’ll still have deposits made into my bank account, connected to a visa debit card I can use anywhere in the world, EVEN South Africa!

What you need? A membership site! What is a membership site? A. You create content for the members. B. You offer exclusive things only to these paying members. Members who pay MONTHLY to get “info.” C. You can drip feed this using wordpress! You can create what you have in your ebooks, into a “TEACHING” into an “online course”…. a course that is paid for monthly…a course where ALL members can discuss the different steps they are on. A place where all members can collaborate and encourage one another. This membership site, that people pay monthly for, creates a SENSE OF COMMUNITY.
Community! That is what brings repeat customers, that is what creates loyalty, THAT is what creates VALUE. VALUE IS WEALTH. OFFER value, and you can have wealth! Why is a membership site-form of a online-private school a good idea?
YOU create the articles/the steps/the lessons ONCE, and then your members can follow them, and do them at their own pace, and do them with others and share with one another etc.
A membership site can charge from 1.99$ a week like a newspaper to as much as 19.99$ a month or if you offer PUA advice, as per Neil Strauss’s pricing 99.99$ a month! Aim for 20$ a month, and no one will think it too expensive to join. Membership sites thrive only because of the sense of community it can create (So make sure you CREATE THAT feeling)…(look into wealthaffiliate, as the community there is SUPERB, IT IS an ICON! and the LEADER in community creating) What the owners do there is impeccably smart.
I have no doubt about it, that if you offer a membership site teaching something, offering exclusives/offering STEP by STEP info…NO REASON you can’t charge 20$ a month… at 100 people to sign up the first day = 2000$ a month….. At 1,000 people by the end of the month… 20,000$ a MONTH. With hard work, and planning, and a month or 2 to make it happen/create it, before you “open” it to the public, I know for a fact that you can make it a success…

Do you speak? Do you do any public speaking? Your words are motivating, they are direct, strong, impactful and well thought out.
Public speaking- Offer free speeches to your local highschool, get some on your little “resume” (KILL IT, WHEN YOU DO IT, DO IT RIGHT, DO IT WELL! Or don’t do it at all!). Then move onto colleges. Why FREE? Well first you have no history for speaking publicly, heck maybe you suck at it- but the reason is EXPOSURE. You want…. No…. You NEED, EXPOSURE. And the exposure you get is young minds. You get exposure to minds that are growing/easily mending/ambitious/they have the time and can dedicate themselves to an idea, a movement.
Plenty of men, women and children, people of all shapes, sizes,ages, ALL LACK CONFIDENCE. THEY ALL LACK …. fill in the blank- … FIRST, create your membership site- NEXT, speak publicly for FREE, get that DIRECT contact with people… promote your membership site/your confidence course, your working out course, your fill in the blank here..
The above idea will likely take more work, you will also likely NOT go with it…and THAT IS UNDERSTANDABLE and OKAY.

I don’t know if you have the money to spend- BUT after you implement Idea 1- Which I know you will :) as it will in my mind, be the best idea given on here.
Next- Take $10,000 minimum and go to a college near you- during the summer or as the semester is done towards the end after exams etc… You want to offer a “bold and determined” day- make it a day where there are different stations outside of campus with different people leading those stations, and they compete against one another to see who is stronger, wiser, active etc. You want it to be a “field day” kind of thing kids do in elementary all the way to highschool- where people are in groups and compete through different events or obstacles to “win” a prize 1st place, 2nd place and 3rd place… Why 10k$? Some to donate to the school to allow you to do this, some to pay for water balloons, and renting out a tug of war rope, and etc… Make it a GREAT DAY. All the while- there is a “theme” to which I am sure you know what you can use as the events theme…. to which everything/the event REALLY promotes YOUR SITE/Bold and Determined/Spartan body workout etc… you understand the point.
How will this help you? Colleges have 5-10k MINIMUM in students in NJ I would say. Not sure where you are, BUT, NO ONE ELSE IS DOING THIS. No one is having bike races, tugs of war, frisbae challenges, water balloon fights or whatever else they are (if you want to know what this kind of even is, go to a local field day at a middle school and ask to be there or to be told more about it etc… impeccably fun. You can give out/ or sell bold and determined shirts, spartan shirts, sell henna tattoos, ANYTHING….
Why though? Why do all this? Its called publicity. When you do it, a few days before it starts, “anonymously as a student” tip off the local media making believe you are a student saying xyz is doing 123 at zzz school, donating money to the school, making it a field day, the public is allowed to join the college students if they wish for a fee etc… fee pays for event/rest given to the school…
Outcome, speaking from personal experience… made $ 1.00 on tie dye shirts and sold 5751 of them or 5750 something like that. All shirts had the site on the back of it… I received over 10000 DIRECT visits to a membership site of one of my clients who hired me to increase their business. I made his site get a little over 4,200 signups the first week at 9.99$ with the price going to 19.99 for the rest of the months. Not all of them stayed for the next month and he was left with around 1k residual for the next, then I was done/moved onto the next project, I dont know what else happened but that was that… 5750$+(9.99*4200=41958)+ (1000*19.99=19,990.00$)= 67,698$ USD. Minus the 10k$ I used to make it happen at the school… is left with $ 57,698$….. FROM ONE DAY worth of “real work” and a few weeks of planning, for a few hours a week/meeting with the schools dean/etc.) Did I mention we got close to 200 people from the town stop by because of the newspaper article?
I took $ 10k as my fee. I know for a fact he is making a lot of money. You NEED TO CREATE a community, that following, you NEED to create that “pezz” that everyone talks about. The newspaper part, by creating “fake” press/hints by impersonating a student and calling the newspaper and telling them a story is possible at xyz school DID the trick.
You want to make more money, a way to increase profits etc… you need to take BOLD action.

Tour the world giving motivational speeches and lectures. You can charge X amount of dollars for anyone who want to attend your seminars. You can also offer your ideas on mindset to the NFL, NBA, small/ larger organizations to help them win more games or become more profitable. Shit you can even be on TedTalks and do your thing. I loved the emphasis on Business vs Self-Employment. Far too many people are afraid to let go and delegate.
I have a comment about Badwear’s presentation. It’s far too busy a page the way it is now. My first impression seeing all the clothing all over is “clutter”.
Because I know you are a disciplined, organized man, I know you have sales metrics for every product listed there. Use the Pareto principle (called the 80/20 rule by the uneducated) and put each category leader down as a header image that you can click through to get at the underachievers in the same category.
This will have the following advantages:
1) You will be able to free up and allocate vastly more page space on the landing page (the only page most clickthroughs will ever see) to clothes that are already doing well. This should result in an immediate increase in sales.
2) Your staff will be able to create a much cleaner, leaner overall look for the site. This is manly wear, so you don’t want it to resemble a collection of geeky crap like this: http://www.cafepress.com/+lollipop-guild+gifts

Done by an intern/outsourced (Leverage your money):
-Sattelite blogs with watered down content, to gain steam and transform a mild but once unteachable demographic into a possibly Bold and Determined one. This site you say you write for winners. Make another one that shows losers there is another way. With popularity, begin subtly linking to B&D.
-Amplify 30dod brand: Have 30 videos made, each speaking wisdom from an important topic, put it in the package. $10 for the book, $50(or more) for the book and 30 videos (5, 10 minute videos to inform, reiterate, reaffirm the wisdom and knowledge).
-Same for Body of Spartan, have an intern/outsource videos, YouTube channel, etc.
Infiltrate other communities, forums, reddits: Have interns/outsourcers slowly but surely getting into communities, finding niche problems, make a killer content for the select public, redirect to B&D, offer 30dod, BoS.
Become Famous: You know it. Victor Pride deserves fame. Superfluous as fame may seem, it’s fucking badass. You want people to envy and admire you. Have a look at Dan Bilzerian’s and similars instagram. They’ve got MILLIONS of followers just anxious to have his life. Full of girls, famous people, expensive shit.

Manipulate and get on top of mediocre fuckfaces and make your name bigger. Network with the right intelligent people and leverage the fame into this site. Another idea: The blog-reading demographic is one kind. Some people just look at YouTube videos. You can pay someone, actor/model/fitness person with an already huge following to preach some truth and redirect to your site. Money talks.
And you know man, you say you can sell this site to anyone and it will keep making money. It’s true. But it will die down after some time, because there is only one Victor Pride. I come to this site to read what YOU have to say, not any other guy. SO… This seems like another opportunity, get another ass-kicker to the B&D enterprise. I know it’s your site, your empire. But surely showing it works for other people, get others on board, like a Video part with a guy that’s good with video and kicks ass. Another podcast part with another guy. It’s a new venture, sure, it can be complex, sure, but if you make it work, introduce them properly, get people to admire them just as they do admire you, it will be great.

I have an idea a few people have touched on in bits and pieces. The content would be evolving, much like your blog, but here’s how I would attack it.
A 30 day educational-transformational class/training. This can be in-person, streamed online or both.
30 Spartan Training
Here’s a sample agenda:
Day 1 The Plan & Mindset
Day 7 Health
Day 14 Business
Day 21 Relationships
Last Day - Wrap-up and Post-training action
This can be done once or twice a year and would grow from the previous class/training.
From wikipedia: Both boys and girls were brought up by the city women until the age of seven, when boys (paidia) were taken from their mothers and grouped together in “packs” (agelai).
Each graduated “pack” could also compete with each, mastermind, etc. Prizes and awards could be given at the end of the year or at the next training. Since the materials would already be created, the graduated “pack” could also help with the next training incoming “pack”.
Revenue would be from:
- live in-person attendance
- discounted live-streaming attendance
- individual products can be created from each weeks content recordings & materials or all sold in one package.
- post-class mastermind and membership
- competition pools and contents
- pack specific merchandise with BAD ranks or BAD Gear

The things that you put out to the world are some of the ideals that I’ve been spreading offline for the past dozen or so years. You can set up a monthly contest/show called “Not A BAD Idea” where entrepreneurs send in video pitches of their product, service, or business. Have the community vote on their favorite 5 or 10. This will serve as an incentive to share the video ,growing network traffic, as well as cut down the amount of work finding the quality. From there you can assemble your team(maybe the crew from the canceled reality tv show you spoke about) and set up a skype video chat, invite the entrepreneur, and ask why you should invest in them, how much they are looking for, overall business plan, etc. If it’s “Not A BAD Idea”, then you could help the individual out for a trade of equity, royalty, etc. This can be released as a video as is or be turned into an animation.
Or you can do “Not A BAD Idea” full out Shark Tank/Dragon’s Den style and tape from a physical location with your team and the entrepreneurs. If we go by the numbers presented here http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2015/04/18/abc-dominates-friday-with-the-top-three-shows-for-the-second-straight-week/391277/. Shark Tank was watched by 6.5 million viewers and appeals to a similar demographic as your brand. There are only a few spin offs of the show and I have yet to see an internet version of it. “Not A Bad Idea” can be uploaded to YouTube as another way to monetize and draw traffic.

First, price it the minimum price $0.99
Then publish it for free in smashwords which will distribute your ebook to barnes & nobles and other sites. Later inform Amazon that your book is free on those sites, they will match the price and your book will be permafree.
Kindle Amazon is a huge source of traffic: B&D would get more exposure and you would sell the BAD.net website setup service. You could easily get 1000 downloads of your book daily.
