The other night I realized that I have an addiction to sugar. I always thought sugar addiction was fake but it must be real and I’ll tell you why.
This night I was in a bit of a foul mood, not feeling super great, and around 9pm we went to the local cafe to grab a mixed berry yogurt smoothie and I instantly felt better when I started drinking it. As I was drinking it, and my sour mood was vanishing, the very fact occurred to me that “I am clearly addicted to this sugar.”
Now I know what you’re thinking “But Victor, maybe the cool drink just made you feel better because it gave you some calories” but that cannot be true because I had eaten well that day. I’d had 4 meals of fish/rice/vegetables and some other combos. I'd even enjoyed steak at one of my meals and all of the meals were eaten to fullness. I was not in need of calories, but I craved the sugar wildly, evidenced by my sour mood without it.
Addictions make you feel sour until you get your fix and can be lifted up again. It doesn’t matter what you’re addicted to, they all act the exact same way. Addiction only happens with products that you don’t actually need. You cannot be addicted to water you can just be thirsty. But sugar (and things like alcohol and tobacco etc) does nothing positive for you. These products do nothing but create the problems that they then “fix”.
The only thing sugar will do for you is put fat on your belly. Why would you NEED something that does not produce positive benefits for you? You don’t. I don’t need sugar but I sure felt like I needed sugar this night and that’s when I realized it is a full-on addiction (and I barely even consume sugar. It is certainly a very strong substance).
When I stay away from sugar I don’t require it but when I go 2, 3 or 4 days consuming sugar soon I will “need” and crave it every day. Just like when they start to smoke their bongs, watch their porn, drink their alcohol or smoke their cigarettes. They don’t need it and when it’s gone they are so much better, but when they do it once or twice soon they start needing to do it every day.
It’s best just to stay away and remember that the “pleasure” you get from it is directly caused by the misery it also causes. You don’t need the stuff but once you’re hooked on it you’re body will start to make you feel like heck until you get your fix.
The only thing you can do to stop feeling like heck is to realize the truth: the product you think you need creates the desire by also creating the sour mood you feel without it. It “fixes” the exact problems it creates. That is why they call satisfying your addiction “getting a fix”. When I became aware of this, I was able to break my sugar addiction in an instant.
Addiction of any kind is very easy to break. It takes simple awareness of why you are craving the product. When you understand why, it is very easy to just say no. It is just like flipping on a light switch and seeing the problem clearly for the first time. See the light, know the truth, and you will not need the fix anymore.
Speaking of needing a fix, I have been voraciously reading old books. For the last 12-18 months I have spent a considerable amount of time reading very old books. I have realized that many old books speak of the same things we speak of today just in a different way, though the very old books can be seemingly hard to find.
It can really seem like there are precious few ancient books available to us. They say the burning of the library at Alexandria, a library which held 500,000 volumes of ancient knowledge, was a huge blow to the knowledge of the world. It can feel like we have almost no information about our past and why we're here. But…
We don't need to read 500,000 books to learn the truth of the world. The truth can be found in one book in one paragraph in one sentence (I can tell you the truth in only 3 words). That's all it takes for us to learn because learning is actually just confirming what we already know inside.
The knowledge we have inside of us is called gnosis and of the few ancient treasures we have available to us to read are often known as gnostic works. You may not have heard of a gnostic but you have probably heard of the opposite which is an agnostic. An agnostic is a person who believes nothing can be known, a gnostic is a person whose knowledge comes from within through revelation.
Speaking of gnostics, have you ever read this fellow William Walker Atkinson? He’s a fascinating case. He’s a guy who was a lawyer back in the late 1800s and then decided to delve into the world of the mystical and he wrote over 100 books before he died. He'd had a mental breakdown due to the stress of his work as a lawyer and he credited finding what was called the “New Thought” movement for completely invigorating his spirit and turning him into a productivity machine.
The New Thought movement was basically the beginning of the self-help movement. The New Thought movement’s principle belief was simple: BELIEF CREATES REALITY. Later on, a book called Think and Grow Rich emerged from this New Thought movement and became a huge hit and turned on the light for me personally.
People so often want to make success sound so hard and cry about hard work but the reality is if you are in the dark it only takes a light switch being turned on go be able to see. Work as hard as you want, if the light is off nothing will happen.
If the light is on, everything will happen even if you seemingly do nothing. When the light-switch is on, everything is visible. Nothing hides from you in the light, only in the dark.
You could call the philosophy of the New Thought movement “new” but that wouldn’t really be true. See, there is but one truth in the world and it has been known for 10,000 years or more.
Through much of history knowledge has been in the hands of only a privileged few. It has been hidden from the common man but with the advent of the printing press and freedom of speech, the truth of our world can come out, often in the form of seemingly “woo-woo” self-help books.
Remember the main premise of the New Thought movement? It is that thought creates reality. Is this a radical new theory? Not really. If you look deep into the history of spirituality, religion, alchemy and mysticism you find but one truth: BELIEF CREATES REALITY.
If you study your scriptures you will find that a fellow named Jesus taught the same reality, but his teachings are hidden deep in allegory. If you read your holy bible you’ll know that the most important principle is to have complete faith (i.e. belief). Hidden in the parables and allegories of the New Testament is this fundamental truth: FAITH CREATES REALITY.
To not believe, to not have faith, is the biggest sin (please understand that a sin is not a crime against humanity but a true crime against yourself. You'll not be punished for your sins, you'll be punished by your sins. In other religions it is called karma).
You know the old self help cliche? If you can believe it you can achieve it! This is a cliche for a reason, it is true. It is the basis for all religions the world has ever known. Heaven and hell are real but they exist in your mind, they are not in some far away place.
Believe in greatness, the light as they call it, and you will live in heaven and you will achieve perfection. Do not believe in the light and you will live in hell. Belief is the basis of all religion because belief is the basis of our world. That’s why they call it FAITH.
It really has nothing to do with religion, Christianity, Judaism, or any other religion as religions often hide the truth, or they don't even know in the first place, or they pervert the teachings of truth for their own worldly gain. Many religions of the world are maintained by perverted souls who want you to worship them. Don't you find it a little strange that they want you to get on your knees in front of them?
Be awed by the light, friend, but do not get on your knees for man because it is very pathetic. You are the source of your own light, no one else, there is no such place as heaven or hell but inside your own mind. If they tell you anything other than this they have perverted the truth to scare you into coming to their church and giving them money and power.
You cannot buy salvation any more than you can buy sunlight. It is there already and it is free. The truth of the matter is that you have a divine light in you, because there is a divine light in every organism on this earth. The light in plants is called chlorophyll, the light in man is called soul. Whether or not you use the light to see, well, that is a matter of self-help.
The first self-help book came out in 1859 (by Samuel Smiles, it was titled simply Self Help) but self-help has existed for millennia in the form of the scriptures and other writings from teachers like Hermes Trismegistus and other people that existed many years before Jesus and the Buddha. I have something to share with you about Jesus and the Buddha but I want to talk a little about self-help first.
A lot of people like to poo-poo on self-help but have you ever noticed the people who poo-poo on self-help are always quite nasty? They have a real nasty attitude and demeanor. Of course self-help doesn’t work for them because nasty attitudes will never allow anything other than darkness. In religious fanaticism, these kinds of nasty people are called demons.
Self-help works, this is a guarantee. There is only one person in this world who will help you and that person is staring at you in the mirror. The one thing you do have to have is the knowledge of HOW to help yourself. But where do you get this knowledge?
Before I read Think and Grow Rich I lived in the dark. I wanted out, I wanted to create greatness, I wanted to see more, believe more and achieve more but I had absolutely no idea how. I was stuck in a rut working these dirty jobs with animals in human skin but I had no idea what to do.
Not until I read Think and Grow Rich and realized the power of the entire world is in my own mind. You have the power to change, you have the power to create and all it takes to do it is a steadfast BELIEF that you will.
I always believed Bold & Determined was a product of destiny. I never advertised, I never looked for readers, I never did anything other than work for perfection because I believed fully that the work was the good work of the light. And this belief I had became true in a big way. I made a huge amount of money. I don’t want to brag about it as I never worked for money in my life, but the money was a manifestation of doing the good work of perfection.
For years all I wanted was the perfect words in the perfect order and for one goal only - to show you the light that I had found. I was there in the dark before, I was a ghost, I was living life in black and white instead of living life in Full Color. I knew there was light in my soul but I didn’t know how to let it out and now I do know how.
This is why I do the work I do, to show you the way to your light-switch. I am here to bring the light, I don't care about fame or status, my purpose on this earth is to show you the light of belief. I don’t care what work you do, you can be a gardener, a painter, a barber or a barista, it doesn’t matter. It only matters that it is your calling and that you believe in what you do and that you seek perfection in it.
If you don’t seek perfection you don’t get perfection and remember friendo, in this world you always get what you seek. Too many of us seek destruction and bad karma and we get it.
Speaking of bad karma, the other day someone asked me why I admire Donald Trump. I had to ignore the question as it was too silly for me to answer. I don’t admire anybody. I learn from all people but I don’t admire anybody living, if I do admire people it is the people who have stood the test of time, the real test of time - eternity.
If you want to know why I admire someone, ask me why I admire someone like Christ or Buddha and I’ll tell you. It is because they are some of the greatest teachers the world has ever seen. Forget about the religions and frauds committed in their name, their teachings are pure.
They are the true original source teachings of self-help and they were some of the best to ever spread the message of belief and faith. Buddha said What you think, you become. In the Book of Proverbs it is said For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. Speaking of Jesus and the Buddha…
Jesus Christ is the most powerful name in the entire world but his name was not actually Jesus Christ. His first name was Yeshua and Christ is not a surname but a title for the enlightened one, the light bringer (he was the sun of God surely but there is a twist I will share with you later). The same for the Buddha. Buddha was not his name, Gautama was his name. Buddha is a title that means enlightened. He was Gautama the enlightened one. I still don't admire them, though I do learn from them. These two enlightened fellows teach you to believe and not to hide from the light in you.
Belief will not only save you, belief will create you. I've said it a thousand times, you create yourself as you wish to be, but you must do it. Nobody will create yourself for you. The light of another can show you the path but you will have to turn on your own light to truly be able to see this simple reality: belief is the light of life, so just believe and then achieve.
Belief is the real world my friendly friends and if you believe in a great world you will live in a great world and if you believe in a bad world you will live in a bad world.
Heaven and hell are in the mind. They always were and you always knew it, you just didn’t have the knowledge to put the pieces together.
Thanks to some of the great teachers of the ages and a little help from Uncle Victor you can go out into this world and you can be the light of this life.
Pretty please, for all the work I’ve done for you and would have done for free, do these 3 favors for me….
SEE THE LIGHT, BELIEVE THE LIGHT, ACHIEVE THE LIGHT.
When you see and believe this knowledge, your life will change in an instant. The light-switch is there, you just have to find your way to it in the darkness.
When you find the light-switch and turn it on *poof* the metamorphosis happens in an instant. From dark to light in the blink of an eye.
That is the power of the light my friendly friends. It will show you everything you ever wanted to see and that is my great guarantee.
In the light, the knowledge cannot be hidden from you. They'll freely tell you that Jesus was the sun of God, and this much is true. But what they do not tell you is this: so are you.
You don't need to get on your knees and bow to a priest to find the light. The light of God is in your soul, friend, but more than that the light of God is your soul.
If you just turn it on it will shine bright right through your eyes. Go to your mirror right now to check and see.
They say seeing is believing so just turn it on to see, man.
Turn on the light and you will see.
“Thou will see the light of God staring back at thee.” -Victor 3:16
Until next time.
Your man,
-Victor Pride

“Buddha was born a Prince, and died a beggar.
Mohammed was born a beggar, and died a Prince.
Christ remained obscure until many years after his death.
Elaborate lives of each have been written by devotees, and there is one thing common to all three—an omission. We hear nothing of Christ between the ages of twelve and thirty. Mohammed disappeared into a cave. Buddha left his palace, and went for a long while into the desert.
Each of them, perfectly silent up to the time of the disappearance, came back and immediately began to preach a new law.”
Great writing. I really love the chapter on Faith in Think and Grow Rich also.
Some point you come to realize that light in you is your partner, your Inner Warrior, your Holy Guardian Angel. It’s constantly plotting your destiny. All essential guidance is within you, in the inmost centre of your heart where your light resides. To depend upon anything else is to insult your Angel who is with you to instruct and guide you.
I totally agree that this is a truth on which all religions are based on.
Thank you HexSho.
Victor, you are spot on about sugar addiction. In fact, researches state that sugar affects our brain similar to the drugs. What makes sugar more dangerous is the fact that it is legal, while drugs are not.
Only if you belive it to be
Damn right! and they blamed Fats for the epidemic of chronic illnesses when cheap sugar was the one to blame.
This is by far your greatest work.
My thoughts exactly!
Agreed
Thank you Chris.
You’re welcome.
This is in my opinion the culmination and pinnacle of all your great works, combined into one fantastic epiphany to all who would be attracted to this website.
A basic Law of the Universe states that “What continuously pursues Accumulation, will continue for all of Eternity to Accumulate more and more.”
From here on out, I predict that there will be an unmistakable air of Spiritually, Healing and Love throughout every article you publish.
Thank you Nick.

Thank you Tommy.
Thank You for writing this.
It was my great pleasure.
Eye opening perspective.
One would think that with all the religious experiences incurred, that a connection would have been made - Sun of God - and ‘click’, it made sense.
Thank you for the read Vic - I’ll be in touch.
SFMF,
Sgt EC
Thanks Evan.
Know Thy Self
What an inspired post. Victor if you are interested in a more modern work of Gnosis that speaks to this new and ancient story, my friend Nick Reed just published his first book earlier this year called ‘Return To Gnosis’. It can be found on Amazon. But the truth is as you say, no one *needs* any book to turn the light on, for it has to be you that actually turns the light on, not the book. Other’s words can only point to the light or give a glimpse of it, like a finger pointing to the moon.
I also wonder if you’ve ever come across the work of Krishnamurti? If not, check out the short piece ‘Truth Is A Pathless Land’. It’s what gave me my very first glimpse.
Thank you Michael.
“I also wonder if you’ve ever come across the work of Krishnamurti? If not, check out the short piece ‘Truth Is A Pathless Land’. It’s what gave me my very first glimpse.”
Never, though I did just now read his piece on truth. I don’t disagree.
One of your best I’ve read thus far.
Religious organizations are selling something they can’t offer - everlasting life and true enlightenment. You are the light, open up your eyes and see.
W
Thank you Will.
Exactly!
Been saying it for a while now, religions are twisted manifestations of the truth. Christ and Buddha were insanely intelligent men who gave others power over themselves. Weak men saw this power and created religions to control the people for their own gain. People know these truths deep inside, thank you Victor for your courage.
Thanks Tom.
“learning is actually just confirming what we already know inside”
From addiction to God. This whole post confirmed what I already knew.
Powerful Vic. Absolutely powerful.
Thanks Rich.
This article is the truth.
Thanks Blayde.
Khalil Gibran - Say not ‘I have found the truth’ but rather ‘I have found a truth.’
I think with this article you have really touched and I mean touched and changed the lives of whoever is reading or has read this article , nothing more can be added ,its by the far the best and most life changing article you have written , I have read all your articles, but this one has hit home right into the soul,
Thank you for the terrific comment, Louis.
I love your message. I attracted this information before and reading it now confirms that my source is reaching out to me. It’s difficult to remain plugged in because I’m surrounded by Christians who have different views regarding New Thought. Reading this material brings me joy and resonates well with me. Thank you for sharing and motivating me to continue this spiritual journey. I look forward to future messages like this.
Thanks Tony.
Powerful stuff Victor! Your words articulate what many of us strive to inform others of. We are all created in the image of God; this means that when God ‘looks’ in a mirror, the image He sees is us … we are little gods, and we possess the attributes of God.
Thanks Kayode.
“The measure of faith is the measure of success.” - Mind Reality
“It takes no merit to succeed in times of light, for anyone can take 1 million and make it 2. But it takes incredible power and strength to shine your light when circumstances are bleak and life seems hopeless. Real faith comes forth when you are owing 9 billion dollars and the chips are down.”
But it’s all about faith!
This article was serendipitously published at a time where I have seriously pondered the value of faith; I have noticed that doubt is the enemy, and that the mentality of the best is not like the rest.
With thanks,
Angus
Thanks Angus.
This is really well written. Your content has really evolved over the years, and it’s always improving.
Keep it up, your perspective is appreciated and works as a great reminder of just how capable people are on their own.
Thank you Oliver.
Victor, awesome article.
Once again well done. The article metamorphosed from sugar addiction to new thought, I like how you did that. Cheers!
Thank you Alex.
Victor,
The article is almost on point. The reason? You’re absolutely right that belief creates reality. However, there is a supreme being (call it the almighty, God, supersoul, or whatever else) that exists at the root of all creation. If you read through the work of Buddha, the Bible, or any other writing by a master, you will see that this one truth is eternal.
Apart from that, in the world, the mind creates reality.
A wonderful example from America just a few days ago: US tennis player Tennys Sandgren, a 26 year old who only won two matches in his entire career, has now made a miraculous run into the quarterfinals of the Australian Open, one of the most prestigious tennis tournaments. He’s pocketed $350,000 for his efforts.
What changed? His words, not mine, from yesterday’s interview: “Sandgren also said something new and interesting about why he’s suddenly been able to play at a higher level: He stopped worrying about the abstract idea of whether he “belonged” in these events or not. “I used to put more of emphasis on that,” he said. “Are you good enough? Are you not good enough? Now I don’t really care. It’s just like you do some good things, and you do some things well.”
It’s amazing. Mindpower by John Kehoe is also a nice book that deals with this topic. I’ve known people who beat cancer by envisioning health.
Have a blessed day,
Markos
I think this article fits with something I once heard.
“I hate quotes because they’re general and can relate to anything”
This is one of those articles, General, yet, unlike the author of the quote above, specific at the same time.
To talk about something so obscure, so hidden from our everyday life, so un-talked about and ignored, I think that it’s wonderful you have the ability to talk about BELIEF just like Dale Carnegie.
It’s truly something that needs to be repeated over and over because it is an idea, and idea’s don’t come with instructions.
Thanks Daud.
“I hate quotes because they’re general and can relate to anything”
The precise power of quotes is that they are general and the reader can apply them to anything in their own life. This is power.
Outstanding post.
Thank you Al.
This article is a culmination of so many of your teachings. I’m blessed to have read it. One of the only articles I would ever read more than once.
Great work. Perhaps your best work.
Thank you D/C Russ.
This has been one of the most powerful articles I have read anywhere in a very long time! Every phrase said in this Masterpiece is filled with truth!
As I read these words I felt them inside. Being a man who has searched from a very young age for the real truth in the outside world until one day it hit me. The truth is in me! I’m the one who can change the way I perceive the world and once I did that the world became and open oyster!
No longer did I see obstacles in my way. No longer does fear play a big factor in my life. No longer do I hold grudges and allow negativity in my life. Like a slow Bull Dozer I push slow and hard!
Jesus and the Buddha to me were the first who practice those laws of Self. We just have to pull aside all that religious stuff that covers both Men and get to the core. When you are enlightened you feel in control of everything around and yet feel as part of the whole that is this beautiful planet! The sun will always shine in your life.
Belief! Is a powerful word! The most powerful weapon to have! A man with belief can push mountains, conquer oceans and even yourself. When you are enlightened you no longer care to be involved in the negativity of the world instead you will work to make a world more positive!
If I were you I would listen to Guru Vic and follow. I can attest the road to enlightenment is worth while. But in order to start you and only you can take the first step down the path that many of us had went down.
You are a God! But like a God you must achieve and conquer yourself first. There is no way around it. The more people awaken from their slumber the more the light within all of us can burn as bright as the sun!
Thank Guru Vic for this article!
Thank you for the great comment, Jose.
The comments above are correct when they say that this is your best article.
When I first started reading you, I never would have thought you would be discussing topics such as Tesla and various esoteric works/concepts.
Keep on walking the Way, my friendly friend.
Thank you Justin.
Yeah sugar is certainly the devil.
I used to think old books were outdated since newer books would surely have built upon the old ones and improved them. This is usually not the case! Like you said there is some incredibly old and ancient wisdom out there that has been forgotten by the masses.
I’m pleasantly surprised to see you writing about Gnosticism. Early on in Christianity there were Gnostics (hidden knowledge) and Catholics (universal church). Anyone could be a Catholic, but not anyone could be a Gnostic. The Gnostics were the true Christians whereas the Catholic Church grew for its own power. Eventually they got rid of the Gnostics since they outnumbered them and didn’t want competition. They also didn’t believe in giving the common people the deeper real knowledge. They (the church) wanted to be the only conduit of knowledge and they gave out only a little bit of it.
I like that you seem to be finding the true nature of spirituality. Large organized religions have put a bad taste in people’s mouths. They’ve clouded the simple true messages; many of which you mention above.
There were many Gospels of the Bible circulating from the time of Jesus up until around the year 500 when a small group of people in Rome decided what the Bible should be.
The real Bible used to teach reincarnation and that it wasn’t necessary to go to church. Church is within, much like you say in this great article.
I think this may have been the missing piece you’ve been missing. True spirituality…. Not phony baloney religion, but true spirituality.
It’s interesting. I recently scheduled a post on my site about being a Beacon of Light for others. I wrote it literally two days ago. The content is pretty different, but at the core the message is the same.
Thanks as usual for your writing.
All the best,
D
Thank you Derek. Very interesting comment.
“Church is within, much like you say in this great article.”
Your body is your temple as they say.
Great post! Check out Orison Swett Marden, his books are very powerful like “victorious attitude” or “iron will”
Thanks Pete. I carried Orison’s “Iron Will” with me for the first year of B&D. It is a great treasure of a book.
Jesus Christ and Buddha are great, but most discussions about them stinks.
Wise men keep them unsaid.
Better to write stuff that are practical and first-handed than to write about something that we’re not 100% sure of or something that cannot be proven/seen.
Love your powerful writing style though.
Keep up the good work.
I.need.more.articles.
What a powerful one! For next time longer please, let me continue to see the light, Uncle Vic.
Ask and ye shall receive. And for anybody interested, this article came in at just over 2900 words.
This was a great article. Belief is what shapes our destiny for sure.
Sugar is power uncle Vic. It’s simply a nutrient. I had 500 grams a day in my bottle during Asean bike tour. I didn’t feel any lows afterwards.
Durianrider often has 200 to 300 grams a day and gets a lot done :)
I don’t expect you to agree with me that sugar is fuel for life but at least consider it.
Cheers
Thanks Paul. Sugar is power, of this there is no doubt, but power works both ways. Sugar is concentrated energy and concentration is the key to achievement as I mentioned in the Tesla article. If you ride your bicycle up and down a mountain, the concentrated energy that sugar provides is a great good. If you do not use the concentrated energy of the sugar as fuel it turns to fat on your belly, making it “bad”. As I said, power works both ways.
Your words touched my soul Victor. I’m starting to see the light.
Thank you Konrad. I am glad.
Amazing. Victor, what you’ve written here is fantastic.
I think it is no coincidence I have been reading your blog for over 5 years. Everytime I read one of your written pieces it feels as if it was written especially for me.
I read B&D everyday. It feels nothing else can compare to your work.
I’ll be checking out William Walter Atkinson. I’ve always knew there was more to life than science, consumption, and getting wasted on the weekends.
I love you man. Keep it up!
Sebastian from Holland
Thank you Sebastian.
This is by far your best, most insightful, and universal-smashing post, Vic. Gnosticism is something I’ve been studying and applying since I turned 20, and I turned 30 this past Sunday. VERY few people write about this shit effectively, but you’re tying it in to business and success which is the “panacea” switch people are looking for IMHO. 90% of people will not apply this, nor understand “the light”. To those that do, it’s almost unfair. Hone that intuition and brighten that light daily, brother!
Thanks Jason.
Each time I finally understand something, I come here and it reaffirms that belief.
People go off to monasteries seeking the light.
All the while it was in the mirror all along.
Indeed.
GREAT ARTICLE!
Here’s another perspective on addiction:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=wZvLLrhUMiQ
Thanks Nyde. Very interesting video.
Awesome article.
Tons to dissect here, but I’ll simply congratulate you on being a “seeker” as the world isn’t full of those.
Belief creates reality. Indeed, I would add it can create false realities, as well as true realities (difference being one is empirical, ovjectifiable, and lays nicely on the map of cognitive understanding about reality.)
Great work.
Thanks Josh.
This is awesome!
Thanks Ayodele.
As someone who contemplates these things regularly, I must agree with you. We create our own heavens and hells, however, all religions and perspectives are differents and our sins do punish us. Out of curiosity and intriguement, what would you classify as true sins against yourself? In the states where I live is known as the bible belt. In this area there are many “silly teachings and ego imposed rules” on the people here. So aside from the sins of humanity, (rape, murder, ect…) what sins can one commit against themselves that will stop them from turning on thier switch? Could be another great article.
Keep em coming man. Been a following you for years.
“Out of curiosity and intriguement, what would you classify as true sins against yourself?”
The 7 deadly sins do a very good job of covering the sins that hurt yourself. Here is the wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seven_deadly_sins
a first class post for first class men. the americans always rebuild the world, they never read books, they use their natural mental power to get enlighten since the dawn of time.
anyway, to become a lion or a god you need a ton of protein and 130g of carbhohydrate(per day) and the workout. but remember no salt or sugar.
or unless otherwise you may die in misery with the stoicism of cow standing in the rain.
just kidding …….
Speaking of addiction I’m addicted to truth. ;) It cleanses my mind.
Thank you for this article Victor.
It relates to me on many levels. Every time I made a great achievement, I felt a sense of self belief in myself or in “God” before doing it or during the act. Sports events, weight lifting, training or my career, it’s almost as if I gave up responsibility of the burden of success to “God” or whatever, and through that I performed my best.
I would ironically, even sarcastically yell during grueling team training sessions “Don’t give up, if you are too weak to continue, let God lend you His strength. I am too weak, but with God’s grace I can persevere!” My teammates would laugh but it worked for me, genuinely believing this gave me the extra 5% at the end to power through.
Even though I said these things ironically, in the toughest moments of competition, say finishing a track race in the last 50m, I didn’t believe I could continue alone, but I believed that “God” would + could, and I promise you I actually broke PR’s and qualified for high levels of competition through this belief.
On the flip side, when I gave into addictions I used to say “it is the Devil inside me”.
Not in a way to absolve responsibility, but I truly believed that it was the Devil influencing me to act in these ways. I never really truly believed it consciously, but upon reading your article it all starts to make sense. My subconscious believed it, and it was true.
It’s because man is capable of both Good and Evil, and that Heaven and Hell are both inside us.
Thanks for writing this Vic.
Thanks Jesse. And great story.
Hi Victor,
Are you going to post on youtube or are you done with it????
Hi Jackson. To answer your question… Perhaps.
Wow powerfully written. My favorite post so far.
Thanks Stevan.
That was an awesome read. Vic is a guy who gets it, especially the part about admiring people.
I agree with many of the commenters here. This has to be one of Vic’s best pieces ever. Is it really true that B&D got to where it was with no advertising or anything? Its insane that it grew so much. Here’s hoping my blog can succeed in the same way.
Thanks Joelsuf. What will you need advertising for when people can just see the light and come to it? You cannot have a sign that says “Here is a light, come to it” because the actual light will be brighter than any sign.
That makes sense. It feels like I’m wasting all kinds of time pumping out content and getting nothing in return, but I suppose I just need to trust in my own light.
I’ll admit to not trusting myself enough. Its what has caused me to make some really stupid and bad decisions. Sugar addiction would be the least of my problems. Try sleeping pills and other downers. Ugh. Glad I came out of that in one piece.
”the product you think you need creates the desire by also creating the sour mood you feel without it. It “fixes” the exact problems it creates. That is why they call satisfying your addiction “getting a fix”
Curious, that’s exactly what coffee’s been doing to me lately. Im quitting for good…
Hey Victor great article
I realised a had a bad sugar addiction about 3months ago , im very healthy and strong but i would always have a sugar in my coffee and have 5 or so cups a day and at night i would eat 2 or 3 chocolate bars after the gym.
I would get a strong craving at night , i worked out the numbers and realised i was probably having 500-700grams of sugar a week !
I went cold turkey and stopped having sugar , it took me 3 weeks to get out of the addiction , i felt like a zombie bad headaches irritation , felt tired my body was fully out of wack …my patience was almost at a zero…
Really felt like a junkie ..it took 3 weeks ….to kick the habit …definitely not easy to do
Buy now im clear and feal really good …lost 3kgs of fat around my midsection
Self Mastery see the light
Thanks Rok. Perfect story illustrating sugar addiction.
Sugar > cocaine.
salt+sugar > crackcocaine.
CRAZY TIMES.
To victor pride,
This was a great read and i thoroughly enjoyed it. So much truth and enlightenment in such a small space, you do have a gift for writing my brother. Actually the name Yeshua is not even the full name of Jesus. I was speaking with a guy inknow who taught himself hebrew and he said the Yeshua is a shortened version of Jesus’s real name. His real name has all the letters in the hebrew language but was shortened over time to make it easier for people to say it. Anyway great article as always. Rock on. Tim…
Thanks Tim.
Victor. This shit is…just yes, my man. Pure fire. What do you think of this as a series framed posters?
Thank you Austin.
“What do you think of this as a series framed posters?”
I never thought about it, I have been wondering in the desert with no walls. It is a very interesting idea, we will see if there is true demand.
Looking forward to their release then, haha. Much love, Uncle Vic.
Over the past two and a half years, I’ve read maybe every article you’ve written and have used Body of a Spartan as my training regimen. I’ve closely watched the evolution of yourself through your content, and it’s been a wonderful journey.
This article is unquestionably your greatest work. It doesn’t just tell the reader to become confident, to power through difficulties, to be a man. It gives the reader the choice to change themselves in the most profound fashion and then supplies the reasoning behind it. And you top it off with a touch of emotional support from yourself.
I’ve never posted anything on an internet message board in my entire life. But this? This deserves it. Thank you Victor for allowing us to change our lives.
Thank you for the wonderful comment, Thomas.
Fantastic, pure article.
A great reminder of why this is the main blog I actually read consistently. Thank you for all your work Vic.
Although you always convey simple, much-needed truth and straight-talk, this article is one of your most distilled. This insight is all people really need start flipping on their own light switch!
Belief Creates Reality.
E
Thank you Evan.
Boom! You’ve finally released the light.
I saw this post coming a few posts ago. Your writing shifted to more abstract ideals months ago. Every post got just a little bit closer to this piece. I don’t know if you had an awakening lately or if you have always known this but were to afraid to post about it? Either way I like the New Vic.
Most likely you have already read the Bhagavad Gita. At least it sounds like you have. Either way if there was ever a self help manual out there this is it. Hope you read it but stay away from the Bhagvad Gita As It from ISKCON because it’s very biased towards devotional service. Not that is a bad thing but it skews the message of the Gita. Get yourself a copy in plain old English without any commentary.
Thank you Kelvin. I have not read the Bhagavad Gita. It will find its way to me when the time is right.
Reading your article reminded me an exercise from the Think and Grow Rich, where you do a 30 min visualization of a person you want to be. As Jim Rohn said, to achieve attracting things become a attractive person.
As Alan Watts pointed out: Jesus said “I am A son of god”. It was lost in translation. Everybody is A son of god. THAT is the gospel!
Bro, you were hammering home those shakes with 30 bananas! No wonder.
Vic,
What kind of bullshit jobs did you do before you started blogging?
Keep up the good work.
Think of something that doesn’t require talent or brainpower, I did it.
Victor, you have been my inspiration since the past 1 year. I have read all your articles and because of that i have seen the reality of the world. Your books, Your voice has been a inspiration for all of us. You inspired me to start a website named blackmortal.com. I will always stay updated with your articles. Thanks
Rushay Parikh,
C.E.O and Founder of blackmortal.com
Thanks Rushay.
The truth is always simple if it is not it may be a truth but not the truth. People need to stop learning and start remembering.
Hi vic, do you admire prophet Muhammad???? He’s a very influential person.
Of course.
“Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” Life is a Divine mystery and extraordinary paradox. One of your best, Victor!
Thank you KG.
“…remember that the ‘pleasure’ you get from it is directly caused by the misery it also causes.”
THIS is the mental process I used to quit smoking for good, 5 years ago. Having been a smoker (1.5 packs a day) for 12 years.
The book “Easyway to Quit Smoking” is the best thing for smokers who want to quit.
Thanks Victor for your work.
Oh, I forgot… What a powerful thing you’ve written! This is a great achievement, even by your standards.
Thanks Matias.
What an article, Victor. So deep, so profound, I think it’s your best yet. Why will I knee in front of a priest when I am the light, I am what makes everything possible in my Life. Why would I pay them, to give me what? Fear? No thanks.
Thank you for your inspiration.
Belief Creates Reality.
Thank you.

whats good brooo
love the article, especially the addiction part “addiction only happens with products you dont actually need”
Listen-
for those of u that know me and used to watch/read my vlog (now defunct) u know, i dont need to go into detail
for those that dont know me, stay tuned for the future down the road maybe ill have something coming back online…
victor and i are close friends, we lived together for a while in hollywood in a mansion, “heaven house” as we nicknamed it (haha good times bro) and where viewers saw some vids of me and vic in them on my youtube channel and twitter (dont go searching, again- old vlog is now defunct)
highly suggest re-reading this article since most of u read posts only once, re-reading it def gives you 2 perspectives
1) learning
2) learning + chance u might act on it (afterall reading by itself isnt learning… need to read an article then take action in order to consider it learning)
- mike chagares (official)
vic can verify that i am the real mike chagares, since i havent posted any comments on any blog in a year or two
miss u bro see u soon my man
ps- vic’s paperback books on amazon force u to not have multiple tabs open on ur computer or phone while at work, taking a shit, at home, etc., part of (all of) accomplishing anything at all required u to get off the computer and go out and take action-
- so having a physical book adds 70% chance (my experience) that u’ll actually learn, then learn + take action on what u learned
(i have no affiliation w vic’s books/read to promote, this is just my insight to actually help u bros out. plus vic actually knows what the fuck he’s talking about haha trust me)
my most productive time period when i accomplished the most was when i left the internet for a year had a basic flip phone and only worked on my #1 goals, i worked on my goals when i had a smartphone afterwards too but just fyi bros (;
btw, reading blogs and trying to create ur own blog without years (~ 5-7 years) of real life experience in any particular topic is an addiction in itself (how many times have u read an article and then got motivated and wanted to start a blog only to realize u have nothing to say after the “honeymoon” phase wears off…)
my actionable advice: re-read this article twice and put it into action, if u dont know how to put it into action then u didnt actually READ it, you just surfed through it. if u find urself not being able to not check blog posts every single day then buy paperback version, whether its vic’s books or another blog’s but regardless action is everything
this post is filled with actionable advice, if youre really reading it closely (my fav post from
vic)
take this comment has actual actionable advice bc i kno what the fuck im talkin about, not just another random poster haha-
-victor can attest to that, he’s seen me (lived together) while i had my vlog, and sees that i walk the walk not just talk the talk
get off ur screen and go break ur ______ addiction (or buy paperback version of boldanddetermined books/any other book u want from another blog or wherever, then get off ur screen haha and take action)
u dont need any motivation or desire or meditation - u just need to:
take action + stay consistent = get results (fun fact: i said this line once or twice in almost all of my hundreds of every video that i posted)
just give urself a chance to succeed my man
- mike chagares

Yo Mike where u livn and what u din nowadays for cash?
havent heard from a in a while!
east coast my man
might hear from me sooon bro
- mike chagares
Good to hear from you Mike. We never talked much but I respect your story. I’m in Charleston, South Carolina if you’re ever in the area.
As for the fellow NWR re-read this article. Like Mike said you will learn more by reading it 2+ times. I myself have read it 5 times and walked away with more notes each time.
I’ll see y’all in the game.
-Dylan Madden-
thanks my man+
- mike chagares
Great article VP
Victor, what can I say man… This was one true great post! Not that the rest are not but I think you went a level beyond with this one.
It’s funny how we all end up to the conclusion that BELIEF CREATES REALITY. I mean, from many different paths.
I’ve seen it from Og Mandino, Eben Pagan with Wyat Woodsmall, Napoleon Hill and many other modern and ancient teachers and books. Either they call it light, vision, matrix, truth or whatever. The conclusion is always the same. See it in your mind and THEN you can see it in reality.
An example shared by E. Pagan was the concept of a building. The architect sees the building in his mind and THEN starts working on it and builds it in reality. Every building we see, was once a belief in someone’s mind (Of course action is required but if there is no belief, action is like an arrow in the dark).
Thank you for taking the time to share your insights.
Yo Victor. When are you going to be doing podcasts again? What happened with Full Color Godcast?
Hey Uncle Vic.
Curious as to what your take is on health insurance?
Thanks!
Victor,
This is just what I needed right now.
Thanks for reminding me what I already know.
-PG
Haha Victor 3:16
Nice.
Got my website started thanks to you Victor!
You’ll not be punished for your sins, you’ll be punished by your sins.
^^^^
THIS!!!!
Wow very good article. I had to re-read this multiple times. You have the ability to write in simple but effective form without having to use complex, fancy words.
Probably as deep an article as I have ever read from you. Awesome read. You might have been asked this before so apologies if you have but will there ever be a B&D app?
Thanks Chris. No, there will not be a B&D app.
How have you harnessed the power of Hate?
My previous week was tough mentally.
You gave me hope, stay blessed Victor Pride.
-Logan
Well I was the one who asked about Trump and I have to say. I’m considerably younger than you Victor. It is possible for me to not see the big picture all the time although I know I’m doing better than most of my peers anyway order of words, amount of knowledge and insight you poured into this writing was perfect that’s why I keep coming to this blog because I always like a good read and you have it my friend…
I love everything you said about religion. I like the direction you are coming into Vic, I have watched your writings become more and more mature through the years - now I see that you are delving into religious and philosophical works - which is exemplary! I suggest reading “Guide for the Perplexed” by the great Moises Maimonides (you can also read it for free on wikipedia, being a public domain book. That book is where I saw light on religious heresays and clarified the true nature of existence and God.
As a medical professional I have to comment on the sugar issue though. I don’t believe a person can be addicted to sugar (unless he’s a sweet tooth) - but knowing you, you might have been in a physically exhausted state quite constantly through exercise. This raises the body’s requirements for simple glucose (which you get in the form of sugar) - and frankly speaking the human glycome is real and people do need a little glycogen to keep our cellular structure intact. But I have to add that consistent consumption of simple refined sugar was what brought the whole epidemic of chronic illnesses and not fat - and scientifically speaking its dangerous (o the way modern man consumes it) but its not actually “bad” so to speak as the body needs its CHO.
I also believe that the smoothies are just too good. I challenge you to just eat a two spoons of white sugar the next time you feel grumpy and see if that will work the same way the smoothies did.
Cheers Vic! And thank you for all the articles you wrote all these years.
My son spoke of you one day and said “Mom you should read the blogs”. I’ve been reading for a couple years now, always looking forward to the next one.
Unfortunately, his addiction has left him in the dark and I pray daily that he finds that light switch. He is an extremely intelligent man. I’m hoping he still reads your articles, in particular, this one.
This was a truly powerful and very inspiring.
Thank you Victor.
Thank You.
Really enjoyed this. Thank you
Another epic piece of writing.
Your article about 10 reasons to quit social media was so brilliant that I had to do a voice over. I gave all the credit to you so I’m sure more people are going to find your blog. Thanks for all the great content you post.
https://youtu.be/KKCcTnFVVW4
Is the addiction explanation the reason you quit kratom man?
Yo Victor, I want to share something very interesting.
I am Indian-Christian and I am Indian born. As you know Buddha, Krishna, Yoga, Bhagwat Gita, etc. are all Indian. But there is a twist. The place where buddha got enlightenment was bodhgaya and you know almost 5% practice buddhism. And overall there are 0.03% buddhist in my country. Very few Hindu keep Bhagwat Gita in house and almost no one reads it. And there is a plague spreading known as Yoga. I will tell you truth. In my country no one I repeat no one does yoga. It’s like some government organization declared 21st June as International Yoga Day to promote Yoga in country. Still no one does here.
I am amazed to see you all foreign guys take interest in Buddha, Yoga and all stuff.
Also there are deities like Krishna, Ganesha, Parvati, etc. And a book named Ramayana. I will that truth too. In reality there is no krishna or ganesha or any deity. And all books like ramayana and bhagwat gita are written by a Human with examples using deities to serve humans an example. Deities were actually imagination.
People took it wrong, they make idols and worship them and ignoring real Almighty God. I see people bowing in front of stone decorated with flower. How cheap they are.
The Holy Bible is the truth of God. You might have read Bible then you came across one sentence in Chapter Psalm :
“No one one has the right to be worshiped except Almighty Lord”.
“You will never see me, but I can always see you above the 7 layers of sky.”
All the believers in one Lord. Read two Books “The Holy Qur’an” and “The Holy Bible”.
Those two books are words of God. Really.
If you read Qur’an you will find vast information about Jesus and Moses and other prophets. And you will find in Qur’an that Allah(God) has declared Mary (Mother of Jesus) as greatest of all Women. In my experience, Bible is Introduction of God and Qur’an is Detail and Conclusion of Allah(God).
Don’t sell your soul into stone-made God. Do GOOD DEEDS and BELIEVE IN GOD and always have FAITH IN ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
**THIS IS WHAT GOD WANTS FROM YOU**
We are not gods but made in the image of the one true God. He is the triune God of the Bible. Jesus his son, and the holy spirit, testify to his greatness. We all know Jesus Christ existed, so it’s up to you on whether or not he is the son of the true God. PS - There is a heaven and a hell. Check out a little story in scripture about a man in hell who begged for just a DROP of water. Sounds pretty miserable to me. All you need to do is trust in Christ alone and you are saved from that miserable place.
Hey Uncle Vic. I was an avid reader since 2012. I just want to tell you, you’re one of the first self-help blogger that gave me solid advice in many areas of my life. More power to this blog.
You’re like a light to the disenfranchised men like me who didn’t grew up with a father figure. There are so many times I thought about committing suicide but little by little by applying everything you said about women, fitness, society along with other manosphere blogs such as wallstreetplayboys, I turned my life around.
Now, I’m running a successful photography and video business. Making six figures in Philippine Peso. Not too big in your country’s money, but this gave me freedom to live my life to the fullest. No God damn boss to answer too. I feel like a real man now. Can’t fucking explain the feeling. Just 5 years ago I planned this venture, and now its a reality like a cheesy chic flick movie shit.
Anyways, I’m not a good writer. Again more power!!!
Hi Victor, I remember reading your blog back in 2011, the stuff you wrote then influenced me in a powerful way. Reading the stuff you write today, it is incredible how far you have come. You cut through the haze of complexities and nonsense to lay the truth at our feet. Thank you Victor, keep on killing it.
Religion and self-help don’t fit together and the reason is simple: Religion demands to surrender your self (your ego) under the will of a God and quenching your own will totally.
Self-help is exercising your will to improving your ego.
It took me four months since this article was published before the light finally passed through me, but I just saw a small spark that will ignite my own light.
Thanks Victor. I must say that I have been following your website for four years now and I can tell that I personally have much to learn but I can honestly say that in those four years you have shown me the light and even though we’ve never met I would like to thank you for this. I’d like to come to the next Bold and Determined BBQ.
Thanks friend, and take care. I will be out to start my own Ronin adventure today.
Thank you for this Victor,
it is simply, beautiful
Amazing.
Your best article!
