How Do You Know When You Are Jacked?

3 Flares 3 Flares ×

jacked-dsJacked is when you take your shirt off and your girlfriend or some random hussy’s eyes pop out wide and she says “whoa!“.

Jacked is when every guy stares at you in the locker room when you have your shirt off.

Jacked is when you finish your set of deadlifts and the fellas in the gym come to compliment you.

Jacked is when people ask you to take your shirt off.

Jacked is when strangers call you “big man”.

Jacked is when people say “Do you workout 5 times a day??

Jacked is when girlies touch your abs with confused eyes, thinking “how can abs feel this hard?

Jacked is when you start off at a weakling 130 lbs or a fatso 300 lbs and mold yourself into granite.

Can you become jacked if you don’t touch steroids? The answer is yes and no. You can’t look like the magazines but you absolutely, positively can develop your body to become the most jacked nature will allow. To become the best you can possibly be. To have the body of a Spartan warrior, drugs are not needed. The body of a Spartan can be achieved with 3 things:

  1. Food
  2. Training
  3. Commitment

If you can eat the right food, train 4-6 times per week and be committed then you can achieve a state of jacked-ness.

The lean and mean Spartan almost looks like a normal guy with clothes on. Almost. But his face is lean. You can see that there is little to no tummy fat. He looks like an athlete. He looks like he can swim across the lake with no problems. He looks like he can do 100 pushups no problem. He looks like he can run around the block and not break a sweat.

The beauty of training like a Spartan is that anyone can have a Spartans body. A Spartan body is not dependent on drugs.

The secret to becoming lean and mean like a Spartan is training like a warrior, not training like a bodybuilder. You need to hit the weights, and hit them hard, but you don’t want to follow the baloney 1 body part per day workout plans you see in the magazines. You don’t want to play with triceps kickbacks, you want to work the exercises that give you the most bang for your buck. Your whole body needs to become strong, you need to be whole. Your body is connected, it is not just biceps, triceps, lats and quads. Your muscles are connected and you want to train all of those muscles, not just the ones with a cool name.

Is it easy?

It’s easier than you think it is. If you’re doing the right exercises and not the bullshit you read about in the magazines then it becomes a hell of a lot easier. But it isn’t easy. If it were easy everyone would look great instead of looking like poop. That’s one of the great things about looking great - you don’t have too much competition. Especially when you aren’t in the gym. Most people are skinny twigs or they are fatsos. You will catch the skinny twigs staring at your arms, chest and shoulders. You will catch the fatsos staring at your flat stomach. And you will catch all the smiles from the pretty girls.

Does being jacked actually help you get girls?

It’s incomprehensible that some guys will actually ask this question and not know or understand that the answer is a big, fat yes. If you could change your skinny twig body or your fatso body for a Spartan body for a single, solitary day and see all the smiles you get from the girlies you would be in the gym every day after that to achieve your Spartan jacked-ness.

Do you lift just to get girls?

Just like every straight man on the planet you will start lifting for all the hot cooz. Over time your lifting takes on a meaning of its own and you start developing goals just for yourself. No broad is ever going to ask you if you deadlifted 500 lbs that day. No girly in some bar somewhere is going to ask you if you bench with 100 lb dumbbells. It doesn’t matter, these are goals that you set for yourself. This is you making the decision to push it to the limit and lift what you could only dream about lifting before. It’s about setting goals, achieving those goals and then setting more goals and crushing them. It’s about not being satisfied with average or good, it’s about becoming stronger and better than you were the day before.

Jacked, fit, lean, spartan…whatever you want to call it. Becoming it is imperative to your betterment. Just because you are a skinny twig now or a fatty now does not mean you can’t become jacked. No one starts out jacked, it takes work to get there. But the beautiful thing is that anyone who wants it, truly wants it, will become it.

You may have been living your whole life making fun of the meat-heads and the gym-rats and the little dicked juice-monkeys but they know something you don’t know - strength. Pride of accomplishment of the body. Perseverance. Pushing through pain barriers. Accomplishment that you can see with your own eyes.

From the skinniest twigs to the fattest fatsos, all who have become jacked will say the same thing…….

Lifting, becoming strong, and developing the mental discipline to do it, is the best thing I have ever done in my entire life.

-Victor Pride

PS - I used to be extremely skinny. I am now a completely different person. I have changed my body 100% in a better direction. All the baloney about “poor genetics” is loser talk. If I can do it any motherfucker alive can do it. Go shit out your excuses in the toilet and flush them away. Mindset of a Warrior.

    SHIT JUST GOT REAL….CANT WAIT!!!

I knew there was a reason I went to a College with our mascot being a SPARTAN!

  2. Victor,
I just found your site a few days ago. I’ve been poring over the archives getting fired up. This is another kickass blog!
I know you espouse a steak and egg diet. I was wondering, do you eat steak and eggs together like one meal….or eat them separately in different meals? I just ate steak and eggs for dinner and it feels as if I got pumped just from eating them together.

  3. Victor, you should do a workout routined ala 30 days pdf for skinny guys like me.

  4. Real talk right here. I’m pretty ripped (wouldn’t quite call myself “jacked”) and there’s definitely a difference between going through the motions and ACTUALLY lifting.

  5. baha and just today i was out with my friend who’s jacked and some random guy goes ‘alright big lad’

  6. victor, some feedback your site in my book is number #1 in usefull information you can used now i have put to used your posts and your 30 day program besides Matt true tried book and inoveryourhead.net i dont now better sites than your site and the other 2 i mention.

    Great post Mr. Pride.

Getting jacked should be part of a man’s lifestyle. It makes you feel on top of the world. All kinds of people become attracted to you. Panties are wet, men admire and envy you. It’s great for business too. Successful people like to give their money to other successful people. And being jacked up is a testament of success.

    Lift on, gentlemen.

Great post Vic!!! A few things I’d like to add if you dont mind? #1- You cant tone muscle that isnt there, if your 150 lbs and wish to be shredded then your going to need to build up to a solid 180 lbs first. #2-At average height, say 5’8-6′ your pinnacle training naturally is on average 190-200lbs lean. Anything beyond that takes steroids unless you genetics are that of a man who had Angels come down from heaven and touch him. #3-Many guys suffer from “Food phobia” and because of this just wont grow. A naturally lean/thin guy needs calories first, be those from fat, carbs, whatever. Nothing wrong with a cheat meal everyday to get those cals up. #4- every decade your going to find your caloric needs/training style will need to change to further progress, and to progress injury free. The way I ate 10 yrs ago was about 2x the daily calories I eat now. 6-8000 cals/day wasnt uncommon for me, now I respond to 3-4,000/day, weigh the same thing but leaner, totally different physique. What works for Dexter Jackson at 45 yrs old, probably wont work for Billy weekend warrior at 20 yrs old. Just thought to share my experiences w/ the past 16 yrs of bodybuilding, not trying to hijack your post

  9. Victor, you forgot to mention the benefit of combat sports in developing a proper body. I’m taking a breather from weights and doing BJJ 5x a week. And so far its leaning me out with out burning muscle. I’m down to

    • To 268, of course I spent 2.5 years weight taking before so I’m cutting down to reveal a statue. Is 240 a reasonable steroid free lean weight for a 6’4″ guy?

      • Victor Pride says:

        John,

Mirror is the decider, not height + weight. At your height you could be 180, 200, 220, 240, 260, 280 and look good. It depends on mirror and how you want to look. If you are satisfied that is what matters. 240 + 6’4 is very reasonable, especially if you have a naturally big build.

  10. Hey there, this was some much needed motivation for me. Thanks for the reminder.

  11. I love finding posts like this, when you reference the way our ancestors used to train really gets me jacked up! What would you recommend for someone wanting the Viking/Barbarian build/physique.

    • Victor Pride says:

I assume you mean big and brawny? I know that Vikings typically ate two meals per day, usually seafood or any meat they could get, and whatever veggies they could get. If you want to get big start eating more.

  12. Hi Victor,I’ve been reading your blog for quite a long time now and I have a question.
I’m the skinny type of guy,16 y.o. and have been lifting more seriously since the beginning of summer. However,I lift only 3 times a week and I feel comfortable with this routine.Does 3 days mean I can’t get big?
    My split- back-biceps, chest-triceps and legs-shoulders

    • Victor Pride says:

      Bence,

EAT MORE! Do this in increments: eat more, when your weight gain stagnates add one more day of lifting, rinse and repeat.

  13. Daywalker says:

Re reading your articles always pumps me up. Especially this one. Everything written here is inspiring. Thinking back 5 years, I was a fat ass. Now I’m as lean and jacked as I can be naturally and it’s all because I wanted it. My will was strong and now my body is stronger. Dammit being a Spartan feels great!

  14. Damn, I need to lose 30 lbs! Got to hit the gym now!

  15. Jim Smith says:

what more do we want than this?

I’ve never seen the point in being huge or freaky looking? You want women to kind of drool not be repulsed.

  16. Jim Smith says:

So here you say you are natural….but then you say you switched to drugs? So…one hell of a contradiction there.

Why did you do that if you can have the body of a Sparten naturally?

    • Victor Pride says:

      I don’t think you understand what a contradiction is. “You were natural…now you’re not…hmmm, doesn’t add up”.

  17. Thank you so much Victor, for showing me how to be an asshole again. I’ve been slacking to my emotional side for 2 weeks. Now I remember why I loved being a fucking asshole. I’m done with that pussy foot shit and I’m all about me now bruh. Keep making great content like this dude.

  18. I finish the post, and I get the shivers. Truly motivational. I came from the gym not 15 minutes ago, and I want to hit it again. Just for the record I am 6’3 and weigh around 160 lbs (83 kg whatsoever). But I wasn’t always that way. When I started lifting seriously, 1 year ago, I was 20 lbs less… and although I have not yet reached my desired, ideal weight… I cannot say I haven’t seen changes. In how I perceive myself, what it does to my confidence, and how people react to me if they haven’t seen me for a while. But now I am focusing on other things.
    1. Persistence and consistency (5 days a week, Mon-Fri with occasional Deadlift Days on the weekends)
    2. Goals (3 plates bench sounds awesome, and then I don’t know, triple my weight deadlift maybe)
    3. Massive legs (I have muscular, but long and slim legs and getting huge in torso only is too mainstream)

All I’m saying is just people need exactly to flush their excuses in the toilet, and once and for all, workout for themselves. Treat your body right while doing the exercises and eating, get enough rest and increase those gains. Only then you can focus on getting even more huge or jacked. It’s exactly that, easier than you think, but not easy at all.

    Stay lean & mean!

  19. Hey Victor,

Do you eat potatoes or something to get your carbs in? I’m trying to bulk and I’m looking for a great carbohydrate source to add with my steak and eggs diet. I can gain weight but I have to eat a lot and I noticed I get my best results when I eat high carb foods stacked with protein.

Just wanted to get your opinion?
