There’s a little problem that afflicts a lot of entrepreneurs.

They find success, they make a lot of money, then they become complacent, bored, and they don’t want to work anymore.

It’s happened to me before in the past.

In my previous career I made a lot of money then I became bored to work. Then I didn’t work for a long time. All I did was play with my dogs, go to the gym and eat chicken wings.

I became so bored that I moved to China just to have something to do.

But that was a different time and I was a different man…

Today I admit to you that I’m a simple man and I’ve found happiness in my simplicity.

I like driving too fast, I like loud music, I like pockets full of cash and I make no apologies for it.

Since I like money I’m not going to stop working, even though I have enough money to live for a very long time without earning another penny.

I don’t have to do anything at all but I’m going to continue to build my empire. I’m going to continue because I am going to make 100% certain that I never have money issues again for the rest of my life.

You know why I like money? Because I’m not a moron. I like refrigerators, sunglasses, hotel rooms, air-conditioners, toilets with bidets, sushi and all the other great things money can buy.

Most of you reading this take those items I listed for granted, but I’ve met people who have never used a refrigerator, who have never owned a pair of sunglasses, have never been in an air-conditioned room and have never been in a restaurant.

That’s the reality of the world. Most people alive exist in poverty. They aren’t really alive because you can’t truly live unless you can afford to live.

I can afford to live well and it’s fantastic.

In my day-to-day I see the poorest of the poor. The most desperate of the desperate. So when I hear simple-minded people say “money doesn’t buy happiness” I can’t help but think that these people are naive and, frankly, stupid.

I’ve met people who work 16 hours per day in the hot sun and they live in homemade shacks. A few dollars always puts a smile on their face. I’ve seen first-hand money buying happiness.

So it’s not a debate. It’s not an if/or. It’s not a “yeah, but”. It’s a fact - money buys happiness.

But listen, other things make you happy as well. Things like sunshine, freedom, titties, and dogs.

And I’ll tell you for certain the biggest thing that makes you happy isn’t money, it’s mission. It’s fulfilling your destiny. It’s working the work you were born to work.

That’s what makes you happy. When you do that, follow your mission in life, money often comes to you.

Freedom is also terrific and freedom can make you happy. But I want to share with you an open secret about freedom….

The thing about freedom is that when you have too much you can become bored.

That’s the affliction that afflicts many entrepreneurs. They have enough money to do whatever they want…..so they often end up not doing much of anything.

Imagine:

  1. You can do anything you want every day of your life, what if you don’t want to do anything?
  2. What if you have more than enough money that you don’t have to do anything?

When that big success happens you often get bored because you stop working and, more importantly, you have no mission in life.

I could very easily be in that same spot right now. I don’t need to work, I don’t need to do anything at all and I’ll still make 10X the average American salary.

It’s a done deal already. I already did the work, now I’m reaping the rewards.

But more important than money is mission. Bold and Determined is my mission in life.

It’s my mission to bring you the message that you can do anything you want if you work towards it.

And hell, if you get it and then you get bored it meant that you weren’t following your life mission.

But hey, it’s better to be rich and bored than broke and bored. In my eyes only a loser could be broke and bored. A broke man should be working ’round the clock to make his money.

So how do you deal with a big success and keep moving forward?

It’s a good question because it happens to many entrepreneurs. They make a lot of money then they get bored to work. I’ve been there before.

The answer is destiny and desire. You have to have some fire inside that drives you.

You have to find what you were born to do. I was born for Bold and Determined, so it’s easy for me to never get bored.

What about you? Are you fulfilling your destiny or are you killing time until destiny finds you?

It’s clear that most people aren’t working the work they were born for, they’re just killing time.

So again, what about you? What is your destiny?

Hey, I wish I could tell you what your destiny is. But I only know what mine is.

Like the famous movie says, “you gonna have to figure that out for yourself“.

Until next time.

Your man,

-Victor Pride

  1. This 100% happened to me, both as an entrepreneur, and an employee with a 6 figure job.

To the outside observer, it seems like a quality problem to have….and it is.

BUT - Those I know that HAVE sold businesses for 7+ figures all run into the same problem, that you’ve outlined…BOREDOM.

They get their sense of self worth and accomplishment by building shit. They love the struggle…the climb…the milestones…and the day to day grind.

Once they reach “success,” sure you can drink coconut cocktails on a beach for a week or two…but you get over that pretty quickly. Why do you think so many successful entrepreneurs become investors or immediately start new businesses.

In short: The goal isn’t the pina colada on the beach. It’s FULL engagement that makes people like us feel happy and on purpose.

    BOOM.

  2. Finally!!

  3. It’s amazing the shift that happens, when you have that vision and you dedicate yourself to 12, 13, 16 hour days. The action comes first, then the motivation and passion and eventually the money and FREEDOM.
Thanks for the kick in the ass.

  4. Nice audio Victor.

I have a little thing to know if I’m bored with something or I just don’t care enough.

If I can’t wake up early in the morning for it, then it isn’t worth my time. I only do things that benefit my life and ultimately get me to where I want to be in the future. One of which includes being filthy fucking rich.

  5. That’s why I love B&D so much — the opportunities are endless!

I’ve enjoyed seeing your creative side emerge over the years. It’s been cool to witness. Keep it up

    In regards to boredom:

  6. My destiny is Life Questing.

I will either die or bring this destiny to life.

    There is no other option.

  7. Shit! I absolutely resonate with that, this is happening to me right now….
    Thanks for new article!

  8. Everything that I start to do, I get bored with it very quickly.

  9. Great post as always Vic.

I can relate to this, having previously made money via a couple of ecommerce stores (selling products that albeit were popular, I had no interest in them).
No interest or passion in what I was doing resulted in income, but no fulfilment or desire to expand.

  10. Great Post Vic!

  11. “It’s a fact, money buys happiness… More important than money is mission.” ~Victor Pride

“Friends” from the past that do not understand these truths - They no longer have any influence in my life.

Money buys happiness, and it pays for what can save your life when you’re literally dead or dying. Then, to rebuilt your body, mind and life, it takes having, as Victor Pride says, “desire and destiny” — A Mission!

    I’m on mine right now!

Thanks for another post that’s like rocket fuel

  12. Haven’t read one of your posts in a while, but after being gone so long… I kick my self why I ever stopped.

    Thanks Vic,

    Reader from ’12.

  13. Awakening Alphas on the daily. When you talk about mission I correlate that with the emotion of drive. feeling arrive and aligned towards a goal and to work towards it. Boredom is definitely a problem and the key for us is to keep reinvigorating the fire.

  14. You are literally the only person whose e-mail send outs I bother to read.

    Everything resonates. Keep it up

  15. Yeah, I’m pretty bored with my life, and I have missions but I just dabble in these missions for a bit and then I get bored of them.

  16. Preach it. Vic, have you ever thought of returning to the United States just for the challenge of it?

    • Victor Pride says:

What challenge? The US is the easiest country in the world to live in.

      • The US is the easiest country to live in, especially if you are poor. But if you have money, the government will take more than they deserve from you, to give to those poor that are living so easily. The same poor that will mug you in broad daylight and take even more of your money. But that’s Freedom. It’s not free, somebody has to pay for it. I would see no reason why you would ever want to return to the US.

  17. “A broke man should be working in the clock”

I think this is the issue with most guys, they do a half ass job. You need to work very hard at the beginning and understand that it’ll be a while before you reap any rewards.

In the words of Victor, it takes as long as it takes. Great post Victor!

Guys, check out his podcast also. I usually hear them in my car and get amazing value from them.

  18. “Boredom is a mask frustration wears.”

  19. Always a pleasure to read a new article from you, Vic! It lighted up my morning. I wish you lots of success for the future!

  20. I’ve had money in the past but absolutely hated my life. I worked as an auto mechanic, union sheet metal worker, personal trainer, and hotel auditor but was completely and equally miserable at each job.

I struggled for a long time trying to decide what the perfect career path was for me and I always came to the same conclusion, “I wish I could make money being ME.”

That’s when all the articles on B&D started to make sense. Live an interesting life and write a blog about it. Find out what you can do to help people and make that your mission!

    Great post Vic!

  21. Great post Vic, I always laugh too when retards say money doesn’t buy happiness. Really, then get rid of all your money, be forced to live on the street, survive on slices of bread and ask for handouts while people look down on you in disgust and see how fucking happy you are.

  22. “10X the average American salary”

This is incredible! It is inspiring to hear of the potential of blogging (you are making $500-600 K based on what you said) and you are living proof that it is possible to make a hell of a lot of cash from an online business. I remember some posters saying that you can’t make a significant amount of money from a blog, usually less than 200K / year, etc but clearly not.

Since you’re at this level, I have a question for you about scaling your business. How long did it take you to go from the 200K level to the 500-600K level? I’m stuck at the former stage (although my business is offline, a physical business) and this seems to be a threshold that’s hard to cross.

  23. I just finished reading a book written by a very rich entrepreneur. His advice was to sell businesses that you get bored with. You can’t fake that kind of interest. I agree with that. Find something you give a fuck about.

  24. Vic,I think you’ve really brought out one the things that really kills most successful people in silence. Now in your submission you gave one solution for Boredom and that is to continue working on our mission .Do you have any other ways of killing Boredom other than work?

    http://www.infinitythinkers.com

  25. Money definitely doesn’t buy you happiness on its own, but it’s a means to an end, such as freedom. Those who say you don’t need money to be happy have obviously never experienced poverty or grew up poor. Money is one of the foundational pillars to a happy life, along with other pillars like health, relationships and purpose.

The reason entrepreneurs who reach that level are bored is because they have stopped growing. We can be rich, but as men of action we need projects and growth because it’s in our DNA to strive for more and to kick ass. on a daily basis, not sit idly on a beach in Thailand for weeks.

My only caveat is that there are scientific studies which show people with an income of $80k+ are definitely more happy, but the levels of happiness and returns start to diminish and tail off after $120k. As such, people should work hard to achieve a minimum of at least $100-$120k, depending on where you live and its cost of living. That said, there is no reason not to dream even bigger. Each person has their own vision, goals and unique journey so if they want and will be satisfied with $500k per year income as an entrepreneur then go for it, but understand there are other things in life that also contribute to happiness.

    • You are selling your time and piece of your soul to earn money if you have a job. That is why earning more money does not make you more happier if you lose your freedom

  26. Great post Vic,

For me its also about “meaning”…. success without meaning = failure. Have you ever worked your ass off to reach a goal, and when you get there you’re like “is that all there is to it ?”… I know I have !

If you can do something that juices you, something you are passionate about then it will not seem like “work” even if you work 12 hour days ! People / events will also be attracted to that energy like a magnet. Add value to your business model, enjoy doing it and find a way to monetize it. That is a recipe that has worked for me…

    Peace everyone…

  27. I think yes it´s about destiny. The thing here is that the reasoning is circular. The word destiniy is normally used in a different form. You can´t change destiny. For sthe religios it´s the divine destiny and for the atheists it´s determinism.

That doesn´t mean that motivation does not not work. But I would use other words which may suit better. Mission is a good one actually. It has the element of freedom to follow a goal.

The thing with entrepeneurs is that their brain is full with that particular element. Technically it´s almost not possible to swich to becoming another person with different interests. These have to be prepared and taken care for a long time.

That´s why balance is important. Burn out and boredom happen very fast if one is not more dimensional. Money is not everything. It´s really important but there are more things in life. Money can become the downfall for some. It fills ones greed and makes sometimes impossible to enjoy things.

That´s why not destiny, mission is the key for a happy life but balance and simplicity at least for many people. Ambitious people often lack calmness and can not relax properly but it´s key to learn it.

Money is just one element of the puzzle.

  28. Having a mission is the only thing that matters.

Without a mission my life was terrible. There was confusion, depression, hedonism, regret, and “just getting by.”

I knew this was a shit way to live. I found Bold and Determined. I read “Man’s Search for Meaning.” Now I live well, even when I suffer.

I have moderate to severe crohns. I’ve been through enough pain to drive a weaker man insane. Everyday is hard, but I’m still moving forward, even if I have to crawl. If I didn’t have a mission I would be just like another person I know with it - depressed, alcoholic, house-bound.

It’s not surprising that people are unhappy. The way I see it purposeless intelligent people go seek cheap thrills and novelty while nearly all average people choose a mediocre life of comfort.

Regret, suffering, and some fleeting moments of joy seems to dominate the lives of missionless people.

  29. i had this exact issue on the small scale just last year.

Saved up enough money that i would not have to work for atleast 6 months if i had wanted.

Thought i’d do all kinds of cool shit, shit i was planning while i was working like a dog.

In the end i pissed away most of it within 3, doing not much notable with it.

    Not even travel.

Now i have so little but i’ve finally got my butt in gear and am working on my site, a book, and various other business initiatives. Its a very slow process, i avoid hard work like hell.

It’s a travesty for a man to live a life without a mission. Nothing makes him so weak so fast than that.

  30. Being a person who has traveled to many Third World nations I will agree with Victor that money does buy happiness. I remember giving a 20 dollar bill to the waiter who served us at a restaurant in a resort in the Dominican Republic. The look at the mans face was that of happiness and I was more that happy to give it to him since he served us impeccably and besides I know they pay shit at those resorts so a little extra does help!

He let us in on all the shows and events for free since he knew people on the inside. It was an awesome vacation!

I think that term “Money does not buy happiness.” was invented probably by some guy who was lucky enough to be born to a well-to-do family and probably never had to work for anything. Another invention of Western society to make those who are broke feel better about themselves! Who never really have to go passed their boundaries like a dog on a leash.

I know I’m always looking for money! I work like a dog to get that green to hopefully not have to work as hard in the future. As far as today I have built a little something for myself and it has made me happy. But I still feel that I need to push hard to progress further! I stay up at night writing and looking for ideas to write about! For me its all about being out there and making some money.

It sucks to be “Broke!” Been there and done that! But its still not enough I have to keep going until I cant go no more! Its all about having a MISSION in life! People who are bored have no mission in life which is why I tell my oldest daughter that she needs to find a MISSION in life and stop complaining on how the world is so unfair!

Have a Mission and your life will change for the better! Stop looking at what others are doing and start building for yourself!

As always Victor great post my friend!

    Jose

  31. Great article Victor. I focus on myself first and do not need outside motivation to validate myself. At the same time I do enjoy checking out your podcasts, videos, and posts. They help me remember why I have the fire inside of me to claim power, money, and whatever else I desire of this world. I am only 21 years old, but I have been evolving myself to be a man since I was 17 years old. I do not know all the answers, but I do know what my mission is and will stop at nothing to fulfill it.

I have learned that I am the axis on which my world revolves so it is up to me to make it happen. I no longer seek or ask for permission from any of the zombies around me. Instead I use my brain which is the most powerful tool I have at my beek and call to make all of my decisions. I know that it is up to me to get what I desire, but you are good at showing people how to go about finding the path to get their desires.

    Your friend from America,

  32. That was on point.

  33. I watched Henry Rollins live in 95, perform his spoken word do one of his spoken word gig. It was great. Honestly, I have to say I was thinking about that performance while you talked. I’m not saying you two are homogenous more like equidistant in peremptory delivery and I dig that shit. You don’t need my approbation you know you are bringing it. I can sense it. I liked that one. It’s just like a good movie… You think about it the next day. A bad one… Not a second thought. Obviously, it made an impact. Great work.

    • Victor Pride says:

I dig Rollins. The Liar video is one of the best pieces of visual art I have ever seen. Like me, Rollins can’t sing at all but he’s made a career from his voice. Kudos to him.

  34. Vic, where did you get that t-Shirt?
I dig the Spartan stuff but would also like to know where you get good quality no logo T shirts too
    Thanks in advance

  35. It’s much easier to buy the ticket than to be the show.

  36. Always strive for greatness, I love it.

  37. Just worth adding that the narration was brilliant. Massively improved the experience of reading through it.

  38. if you blog in asia does the U.S goverment tax you if you visit your family or friends?
Can i start a blog here in the U.S and not get taxed??

    • Victor Pride says:

The US govt ytakes a bites of you no matter where you live. No you can’t start a blog in the US and not get taxed.

  39. What is it that draws you to the Asian cultures? Even if one says it like that… lol

You must really like those types of females as well.

I am curious. I think you might be planning to live in America in the next three to four years and bounce between here and there. What city will you move back to? I have lived in La Jolla, Orange County, Seattle and they all suck for various reasons. Seattle sucks the least. What people don’t know is the city is cut in half by lake Washington. There is a huge conservative bunch of us that live(d) on the east-side in the Bellevue/Kirkland area. They and us refer to ourselves as East-siders.

I know Texans are loyal. It appears you like the heat. F@#king detest it in every way. Seattle, does offer an amazing climate. It rains more in New York than Sea-town as we call it. However, it’s gray & overcast 9 months of the year.

You should check out Seattle in the next five years. Everyone should as there is not a skyline in the world that can compare. I saw this article talking about Sydney as number 1. BULLSHIT… I challenge anyone to find a vantage point on Capital Hill or the Space Needle (but it doesn’t open early) and watch the sun come up. It won’t come up over the Cascades as that is in the west. However, there is NOTHING on this planet as beautiful as a sunrise between April and June. I hate that shit. I don’t care about watching sunrises and sunsets. But seeing the contrast, people, between a massive mountain chain, white covered mountains, that merge into the greenest trees you have ever seen, coupled with the ocean is fascinating. Then your eye merges into the will and creation of man that man makes. One thinks for a moment… I am so lucky to have been able to participate in life.

It will rock your shit. The best would be to fly in at night. Then get on top of various tall buildings and watch it. It is an experience every man should take with him before he dies. You will be humbled.

Also, another cool fact(s) about Seattle, is we actually have two beaches. One is huge. Its called Alki. The other is if you drive on 99 headed north in the evening the light refracts off the water from The Sound and 80% of the buildings refract the light. The city takes on a deep and mysterious green. Hence the name the Emerald City…

BUT more importantly there are tons of Asian bitches there, that are Americanized as much as you and I, without the little bitch attitude synonymous with Orange County. The ones on the east side would snatch your ass up so quick Vic it would make your head spin.

There are so many beta male pussies in Seattle that when there is a man like me they flip out. I take whatever I want. See… The women there are tough little bitches, the high concentration of beta male computer chumps has caused an effect where they have taken over the masculine role. They are down to earth. They will test a dudes frame. But, when they see that you really are as hard as you look, and even tougher on the inside… something crazy happens. All my bitches are 9 to 15 years younger than me. Easily the hottest. They all regress into baby talk. Why? Because they need to be submissive. That is when you know you have your bitch on lock. Its simple, they talk baby talk.

Dudes, 50 shades of Grey came out of Seattle. Now, why do you think one of the most libtard highest pop cities in the nation, had a story about a bitch who is dominated by a man? WHY DO ALL THESE BITCHES READ AND WATCH THIS MOVIE!? DUHHHHHHHHH!!!!! I have met that clown several times. There is a circle of “cool” people that exists there. The women are begging for a man that doesn’t carry his things in whole foods bag, carries himself like a twat while hes sipping his little mocha frap with whip. Vic… I don’t dig on Asian ladies. Its just not my thing. However, you might want to investigate.

    A TANGENT THAT IS RELATIVE

Many of you guys will just never get that because you have little balls. Let me give you a story. Three years ago I was on capitol hill (gays domain in Seattle). I was in a hipsters bar. I walk in after work with my suit on & it was like hitler walked in. Worse… like Ronald Reagan. Many of my buddies are obtuse computer guys. They have skills I need. I represent power they want to obtain and a frame that demands respect.

Well, within 10 minutes, this hot little liberal hipster chick starts attacking me verbally. She talks about how, “You think your so cool because your in a suit” (I was just standing there watching the pool table). She then launches several other insults… Why? Because she needs me to f@ck her. She sees that my shit is together & I have power. I just looked at her several times. No smile, no comment… I just glanced at her, hold a stare for 5 seconds and look away… After 4 insults she says, “Arent ya gonna say anything”? I turn slowly to her in a controlled voice (my voice is one of the deepest you have ever heard) I then say to her, I really like the dress your wearing and you have a really nice body”. Then, I give a half smile, raise one eyebrow as she is standing there in consternation, then I walk away. I go to the bar and come back with shots for us and a good drink. I walk over set them on the table and say to her, “Come here”. She comes over and I said, “I bought this for you and since you talk like your a bad ass you better back your shit up”. SMASH CUT - Doggie style in my bed two hours later… HAMMER TIME…. Completely dominating her in the bed as I always do. The difference between guys like Vic and I is that your a scared little boy. You think its about trickery and seduction. That is one way… Another is to BE BOLD & DETERMINED

    • Victor Pride says:

I’m not going to move to Seattle because there are a lot of Asian girls there. I live in Asia. That would be retarded. I can’t stand lib hip-tards and will never live among them. If I live in the States I will live in Vegas.

“BUT more importantly there are tons of Asian bitches there, that are Americanized as much as you and I”

      Sounds awful.

“The best would be to fly in at night.”

I’ve been through SEATAC a bunch of times, the scenery is always fantastic.

    • nice shit

  40. This is definitely important for all men to have a mission in life. A goal and something you really desire and work towards something you really believe in.

Men were and are hardwired to build something and use mind and knowledge to accumulate wealth based on what they built through hard work, sweat, perseverance, and self-improvement. Life should not be over even if the goal was reached. Simply make another new goal and keep on improving and always be working to make oneself rich. With so many bullshit in today’s media and current situation, the best thing a man can do is plugged in the ears, ignore media bullshit, politics, gossip and simply focus on individualism and self improvement. Be rich, be successful, be strong, be smart, be powerful. Then people will quickly move out of your way, try to be nice to you, look up to you. Nothing else matters in this world as long as you have power, money, skill, mission, … simply be untouchable and only hang out with other successful people and immediately remove any negative people in life.

Just like keeping an animal in zoo cage, the animal will be lazy because it will be fed by the zoo keeper accordance to such and such time. The animal will lose its natural instinct to hunt and the animal will have hard time adjusting if released back into the wild although it will just take time to adapt to natural habitat. Similarly men’s natural instinct is to improve and never stagnate. If one is so focused and busy working towards building wealth and mission, it’s hard to feel “boredom”. Boredom is biggest enemy to men’s time.

This is another great post that nails it.

  41. I’ve got a few entrepreneurial projects going on right now and I find that this shit absolutely keeps you alive and gives you a purpose. The only cure for boredom is accomplishment. Unfortunately most people in today’s day and age in Western society derive their false sense of accomplishment and stave off boredom by getting to the next stage of a video game. As you said in an older post, there is no sense of pride and accomplishment like the feeling of building something with your own hands, such as your empire.

  42. I just recently realized how much of a pussy I’v been for the past few years and decided to start working harder than usual. It’s a bit difficult for me because I never really had to work before and I still, technically, don’t have to because I live with my parents. I’m missing the desperation factor because I live with my parents so even if I don’t work, I’ll still be able to survive.

But I feel like I really need to get my shit together and move out, I have a few projects in mind, start with taking my website to the next level, and creating an eBook to sell. Then, pitch as many people as possible as see if they need freelance writing work (that’s what I do) and save up as much as possible before I find my own place.

I’v been in a dark place emotionally for awhile now because my oldest brother committed suicide last year and it’s been quite tough me and my family. It’s hard to find the motivation and drive that I need to work on my progress while going through something like that. I’v been handling it fine, but I’m still quite depressed, it comes in waves. Anyways, awesome article as always, I’v been a fan for almost a year now!

  43. Boom boom man!! Got it!! Suffering the same situation..i have everyhting I want, enough money to get life but no motivation..got your message..firing for some work now..amazing you are..wow I am driving energy man!!

  44. Hello Victor,

I hope you continue to make your make website VIA audio logs. The ability to listen to your website instead of reading it is a great help for those of us who have to drive a lot in order to fulfill their mission.

    Take care,
    Darren Brock

  45. I really like your point of view. You are opening my mind to a countless new opportunities. I really appreciate it man, keep it up with a great job.

  46. Completely unrelated question to you Victor.

If somehow a superior force came to you and made you choose:

“Vic, we’re here to fuck with you. But we’ll be nice to let you choose.
We either shut down Bold and Determined, or your girlfriend dies.
    Choose.”

If you would not like to answer, I don’t blame you.
But it would be appreciated if you do.

And another question, I might go to the US. Why did you say you’d live in Vegas among every other place? I want to see your point of view.

  47. good post, as usual. I am still trying to find the final definition of my mission, but I am getting closer. No boredom yet, just a lot of idiotic routine (which is different than boredom) and crap to swallow.
On the other hand, I am actively working to get to some objectives, last night I was with city councilmen, house representatives, senators etc. (you guessed, government and politics have something to do with what I am doing) as networking is one of the keys to almost everything.

  48. If you’re one of those people complaining about boredom this is required listening: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eozZJl8R0Lg

  49. Bro, I got my comment deleted? I have bought products and have been a loyal read for years. I leave some constructive feedback and it gets deleted. Disappointing.

  50. How do you live in China being an American citizen? I’ve looked into this more and it makes ZERO sense to me how you can pull this off.

You are supposedly not married to a Chinese citizen, you supposedly live off your blog, and you can’t just live in China that long without a visa. How did you get a visa if you don’t technically work in China?

  51. Hey Victor,

You mentioned before that it’s a good idea to get TWO passports. I’ve heard other sources give the same advice.

As a Korean-American, I have the opportunity to acquire a second passport in a country I actually wouldn’t mind living in (South Korea). HOWEVER, is it worth serving two years in the military in order to acquire this citizenship? If I do, I would have the right to visit and work in two countries for the rest of my life, but two years seems like a large amount of opportunity cost.

Thanks, and keep up the great work Uncle Vic.

    • *I forgot to mention that the two years in the military is because South Korea conscripts all Korean males to serve between the ages of 18-37
