You’ve had the dream of owning your own business, being free, seeing the world, and making lots of money.
But you eventually wake up from what you think is a pipe dream. You think it isn’t really real reality.
That’s when the doubt sets in.
How could you ever survive without a job you ask yourself.
You start to think you aren’t clever enough, resourceful enough, or determined enough to start your own business. You start to think your skills aren’t worth much money.
Or maybe you just think you aren’t good enough to be the boss and start your own business.
I have some truly good news.
Anyone who has a job, a real job - not a ‘make-work’ government job - has the ability to make money, a lot of it, on their own.
If somebody pays you money to do what you do then you have the ability to start your own business and make money without an employer holding your leash, uh, I mean hand for you.
How?
Listen, this is how business works:
Your employer pays you less money than the amount of money you are generating for the company.
That means you are already making money for your company - more money than they are paying you. You have a verifiable money making strategy. But what you’re doing is giving money away!
You’re selling your services at less than the going rate.
If you are employed in a real job you have a money-making skill and you’re selling that skill at a reduced price.
But not only are you selling your services at a discount, you are selling your most precious asset you will ever have (your time).
Oh, and you’re selling your most precious asset at a discount.
“Today we’re having a sale on Johnny Worker Bees soul - 50% off!“
Get it?
But aren’t you safe if you have a job?
That’s a funny joke. You aren’t safe at all working a job and you never will be.
Your boss can fire you tomorrow. Your company can go under. Your company can move your department to India.
You’re giving away your skills and time at a discount and you’re doing it in a very risky, unsafe way that is also a highly ineffective way to get rich. (Why would you ever work just to make ends meet when you can work to get rich?)
If you believe that your job is somehow different and safe please ask yourself these two questions:
- Can your boss fire you?
- Can you fire yourself?
I’ve had a lot of jobs and I’ve been fired a lot of times. I got fired from banking, I got fired from selling insurance, I got fired from selling furniture, I got fired from being the assistant manager at a video store, I got fired from working the graveyard shift at a hotel, I even got fired from a job mopping floors at a liquor store.
But…
I never got fired from real estate investing and I never got fired from blogging. Why not? Because I created those jobs.
And guess what, today I’m going to tell you the easiest way to start your own business and increase your income.
How do you leave the “safety” of your job and go into business for yourself?
If you’re already gainfully employed you can turn the tables, you can create a job and you can end up exactly where your employer is right now. You can become the employer with an army of worker bees working to make you rich.
You do the exact same thing you do right now, with a few minor changes.
- 1st change - You quit your job.
- 2nd change - You start calling yourself a consultant rather than an employee (or some feel-good title like VP).
- 3rd change - You bust your butt to get clients and you do the best damn job that anyone in your field does. You build up a large client list.
- 4th change - You hire qualified people to work for you. You pay them less money than the amount of money they generate for you. You give them “feel-good” titles like vice president of marketing so they feel good about earning less money and sacrificing for the company.
- 5th change - Now you have an army or worker bees working to make you rich. You make a whole lot more money than you ever did working your safe and secure job.
“Is it going to be easy?“
That’s a question that losers ask, and if you ask that question then entrepreneurship is not for you.
A better question to ask is “is it going to be worth it?“.
Of course it’s going to be worth it and the reality is that it’s not really hard but it does take a lot of time and effort.
Do you know what doesn’t take time and effort? Being a loser.
The Magic B Word
Build. Building. Builder.
Building something is what makes a man stand tall, proud and triumphant. Building requires time and effort but it’s what gives your life meaning and purpose.
Without something to build, without something to work towards, without a goal what are you? Nothing. A ghost, neither here nor there. Invisible. The invisible man quietly making money for his betters.
At a job you aren’t building anything, you’re wasting the days away while your soul erodes because you have no purpose in life.
When you go into business, when you build a business, your life starts to have purpose and meaning. You start to have a reason to wake up in the morning and not hit the snooze button over and over. You start to live.
Look at those zombies in the office next to you and see if they look like they have purpose in life. I saw it before with my own eyes and I’ll tell you without fib that they have no purpose in life. They’re dead in the eyes and dead in the soul because they aren’t builders.
But think about this: Those lifeless zombies still generate money for the company. If they can generate money imagine what a determined man, a man with a soul, can do if he puts his mind to it.
Imagine what you could do if you had your soul back.
Until next time.
Your man,
-Victor Pride

Well-thought and well-delivered post Vic-Needless to say, the audio was very enjoyable to listen to (What was the background music? Definitely had an oriental effect, so I was wondering if it was Thai. For motivational articles in the future you could consider more intense background music/stuff that pumps you up as well).
Here’s a small question. I’m a young guy and an honest, no-bullshit man now, but two years ago, I spread some nasty rumors (mostly founded on truth) about some others in my field (who had advanced by schmoozing and networking) due to lack of confidence. Worse, I posted this to someone on FB, where it can be viewed for the rest of eternity. I have crippled myself ruminating over the mistake for years until last week, when something finally clicked and I decided I was just wasting my time caring about others. I had worried they would spread more shit about me, and that they would be the first to enjoy a satisfying laugh if my efforts in my field failed.
So my two questions are: 1) Am I doing the right thing by fully forgetting about this and just focusing my efforts on the future, now that I know what to do? and 2) I want the whole f***ing world to recognize me for the no-bullshit man I am now but I am afraid the past will haunt me-Is this rationally possible, and how can I make it happen (I’m 20, btw).
I just wanted to bring these two points up because I feel so many people have emotional baggage from various areas in their lives that they just don’t throw away, and it affects their self-confidence when they do the important things in life (like starting their own business). For all B&D readers-Don’t give a shit about your past. Just march forward and think about the present and give to your 110 % and the chips will fall EXACTLY where you want them to, not “where they may” as the old adage suggests.
“So my two questions are: 1) Am I doing the right thing by fully forgetting about this and just focusing my efforts on the future, now that I know what to do? and 2) I want the whole f***ing world to recognize me for the no-bullshit man I am now but I am afraid the past will haunt me-Is this rationally possible, and how can I make it happen (I’m 20, btw).”
1) Yes, sounds like you’ve carried it long enough.
2) You’re too young, your past won’t matter. I guarantee it.
It’s often funny what can seem important when you’re 20. You haven’t even got a felony record yet, and even that wouldn’t stop you from going into business for yourself. In America you can get elected President after publicly burning an American flag. Don’t sweat Facebook.
Great point Abgrund.
I just got finished reading:
Nothing to Lose, Everything to Gain: How I Went from Gang Member to Multimillionaire Entrepreneur by a guy named Ryan Blair. It is a fantastic biography which shows you even a felon can turn his life around with the right influences and mindset. A few bad posts aren’t going to ruin you. What you do TODAY matters far more than what you did YESTERDAY.
Today, make it happen.
I just bought that book, got a ton of flying to do soon so I’m stocking up.
Im reading this I am taking a 15 minute break from an insane shift making 8 dollars an hour, post like these keep me focused on my ultimate goal: building businesses. Im avput to start a dropshippin bizz and I hqve a site.
Vic, if you have a minute, Id really like to know what you think of my site : manofvigor.com.
Keep the fire alive
One thing I would do is change the # of posts per page. Right now you have only 4 posts per page, so every 4 posts we have to click next page. I’d make it easier and give a few more posts per page.
I actually was thinking of changing that - thanks I appreciate your input. Keep up being an inspirator.
Why are all you guys trying to copy Victor’s site? Sorry, but that’s what it looks like. Are you really passionate about the topic or are you just writing about it because it feels good to write motivational posts? By the way, your site title is showing up twice, so the first thing should be to sort that out.
@Kush This is such a stupid comment i don’t know where to start.
1) everyone has to start somewhere, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. when people start something creative for a while they’ll stumble and fall, but then they’ll develop their own voice and style. we tend to emulate those who inspire us at first, before becoming confident to talk and act without a crutch.
2) What B&D talks about is not a unique thing. there are thousands of blogs dedicated to health, women, money, living, philosophy and so on. The difference is, that he has lived it, he speaks it directly, without apology or deference and people can take it or leave it. That took time to do.
That straight talk though not impossible to fake by others is certainly hard to do so, and truth overtime shows itself night and day from falsehood, which is why his site is popular. Real shit beats fake shit over a long enough time frame.
3) What are you doing you lazy so and so?
Atleast Derek is out there busting his hump to make something of himself, and you tear him down like the keyboard jockey that you are. go back to your hole and AMOG your left hand you pathetic snivelling toad.
Imitation doesn’t have to be a complete copy. Most of the sites put up here for review look like a poor version of B’nD, even theme wise. Their content doesn’t add any value too. You look like the kind of guy who can’t take criticism, and that’s the first step towards failure, especially in the online world.
I have about a dozen affiliate marketing websites of my own. The reason you don’t see me linking my name with my website is because none of my websites are in BnD’s niche, and obtaining a backlink from an irrelevant site does more harm to the website than good. I make around $250 dollars per month of passive income from these websites, and it’s only increasing as I’m learning and implementing more. It’s nothing to write home about, but I do believe it’s enough to give me a right to point a mistake made by a complete beginner.
Uncle Vic,
phenomenal job, got goosebumbs all over my arms.
Could you please put a download link for this mp3 file so i can put it on my music player?
Keep this stuff coming man.
I was one of those who requested you to make a podcast but did not expect it neither this way nor that good.
But that’s how Vic rolls, underpromises and overdelivers haha
if you remember me I am the kid who burned the bridges and moved to another country after realising how senseless my life would be if I had given it away to slave away on a bee job in the military for the next 20 years.
Last month i received my first paycheck ever. It was a mere 1.300 bucks earned by bouncing friday nights and spending the weekend inside of a cargo hold hoisting baggage.
Holy shit man, I’ve never had that rush, that phenomenal high ever before. It’s exactly as you said. All i want to do is get that feeling back. Not just at the end of the month but every day. Every day I look into my bank account there has to be MORE money added.
During summer I will have 12 weeks of vacation and I am going to spend this time on a trip to Thailand checking out the entrepreneural landscape there.
Do you have any suggestions where to go if I want to meet other aspiring entrepreneurs?
All the best
If you are able to play, you are able to see the link:

But please man, cut the “goosebumbs all over my arms” thing, we are at B&D.
Friend, english is the third language I learned.
Never knew that “goosebumbs” is a girly term, but thanks for reminding me.
Friends, goosebumps is not a girly word. It’s the only word in the english language to describe…well….goosebumps.
have you thought of going to alaska and work on the oil slopes, do the two weeks on, two weeks off. If I had 12 weeks off, that’s what I do. Tons of $$$.
Haha funny you mention that I’m on the slope right now.
Great Man. I know what you’re doing here. You want us to programme our minds à la Brave New World style.
You now have to learn some Spanish to narrate it on El Machismo.
Amigo, ¿por qué no lo habla de usted mismo? Puede leer inglés y hablar español, ¿no?
WUT?
Sorry I think I fucked that up. What I meant to say was, why don’t you speak (voice record) them yourself?
Great talk man,
I loved it. Giving a talk in this article opens new opportunity’s and doors for bold and determined. Phone users would be very happy.
There is something in building and being a leader/consultant or whatever you can name it. That gives you great sense of worth. Reading this gave me little glimpse of my child hood. Good example would be Lego. Who didn’t like to play with it and build castle, planes or whatever. Just having an idea of what you want to build and actually building it there is a great feeling of joy there. And now imagine other kids around you that help you building it. THAT MAKES YOU A KING ! I believe our core is our childhood somehow. Because that was a time of doing, exploring and building. NOT analyzing and thinking.
One question:
I’m building my blog at the moment and I get obsessed with it I know what I want and why but sometimes I just crash and lose it. When that happens the question “Is this hard work going to be worth it?” pops in to my head. And that’s that’s the moment when I can’t find an answer for… Someone has any experience with it ?
I have an answer for you.
Yes, it’s worth it.
Think about why you started it in the first place. I think that’s the key. Why did you start your blog, what made you create something out of nothing? But most importantly: Why are you obsessed with it?
That was, is, and will be your drive. Trust it, trust your guts.

Thanks a lot for your reply man. Definitely helpful recently i found out how my brain works while doing uncomfortable stuff. And that was during cold showers. I asked myself why am i doing this. Thoughts about me and what i want came up. Then after that i had flashbacks about my past… that is where i got my drive back. Got angry and just used that energy to do it. There something very strong in anger. Read it in Alan Currie’s book (Mode One)
If you want results now, or tomorrow, it’s not going to be worth. If you’re in it long term, if you’re in it to win it, then forget that nagging doubt as soon as it pops into your brain.
Definitely long run this lifestyle suits me better. I’m doing it.
Thanks for your reply man.
Robert,
Legos are excellent tools from a young age that we sometimes forget as adults. The mere act of creativity is accomplished through doing. As a young boy, you don’t draw out elaborate plans on which bricks go where, what colors to use and so forth. Rather, you take a bit of this, and a bit of that, and let your imagination take you along the way.
The same rule applies to writing. I pick a general subject to make into a theme for a post. No matter how basic the outline, I just start writing. Sometimes it is a quote from a book. Sometimes it is a link to another site. I have only published three articles so far on my blog but have countless more draft outlines that will eventually get fleshed out. Victor has mentioned that he follows the same technique. It is critical not to get hung up on the “perfect article”. Instead, focus on getting the core message across and the details will take care of themselves.
Last but not least, one question I always ask myself is this: If I was a man visiting my site for the first time, would I want to read this article? Is it relevant to my needs in life? Does it address what my challenges are? Are there inspirational and/or actionable steps to help that man reach that goal?
Remember your audience, and you will have one that grows.
AGREE! Inspiration of building a blog was already in my head B&D is the blog that made me take action providing me with awesome tools to use as well.
Recently i met a writer a very cool dude. He is very happy to help me out when i need some help.
These are great set of questions man thank you and good luck with your blog!
I have been building my blog for a few months. You’ve got to realize that Rome wasn’t built in a day. But if you continue building, eventually, with hard work and smarts, you will have built yourself a passive income empire. No joke.
It didn’t take too long before I made my first bucks online. When I did, something clicked, I realized, all I needed to do is scale up on how I made those first dollars and keep trucking.
It’s awesome to see money made while you’ve been sleeping. I figure with another year of hard work and dedication, I’ll have a nice second income from my blog. I know it’s not going to be easy, but what the hell is worthwhile that’s NOT easy?
Yesterday experienced 12 HOURS ! of shit trial day at a sales job. No I didn’t got paid or anything. At the end of the day it was obvious that i didn’t pass. Because I decided after 6 hours that i don’t want to represent a fucking charity. I think 12 hours of work on my blog is easier and more fun than that. This makes me want to sacrifice a lot to get my freedom later.
“A better question to ask is “is it going to be worth it?“.” Too right, Vic. Your posts are always a reminder that the status quo - as a salaried employee - is intolerable. And from that comes the drive to build.
Sidebar: Your post, ‘The Only 3 Pieces of Advice You Will Ever Need to Succeed’ inspired my website name. Probably one of your finest posts. Any would be entrepreneur ought to filter their ambitions through those 3 pieces of advice to make sure they want it bad enough.
Great name M.
Killer article Victor!
“Is it going to be easy?”
That’s a questions that losers ask, and if you ask that question then entrepreneurship is not for you.
A better question to ask is “is it going to be worth it?“.
When I was working as banker, I pulled about 10-12 hours each working day. I was walking dead in the evenings. I couldn`t produce a single sharp thought. I needed all my free time to recover. My life was work and sleep.
Today I pull 14-16 hours each day running my own shop. I feel highly energetic in the evenings. I am sharper than ever. I have no problem working seven days a week.
I am on a mission. I get up early to accomplish my mission. And I stay up late in the night to accomplish my mission. No matter what the costs are, it is worth it.
Having a mission is something, you`ll never experience as an office slave. This alone is worth quitting the 9-5 bullshit.
I used to be a banker, and the walking dead is a perfect way to describe those people.
Cool
I gotta say, the audio was a bit creepy. Maybe next time try to have a some more emotion in your voice so it’s not as zombie robot like. Now I don’t mean emotion like what goes in a tampon but emotion like anger, eagerness, and excitability, etc. You don’t have to go full on coach mode screaming in our ears, but I’ll be honest, I couldn’t listen to the audio in this post it was so dull. Still a fan of Bold and Determined though.
False, the audio was perfect.
Nah, I disagree. His voice is of a made man. He who exudes authority. In control of his thoughts and emotions. Look at his article ABC “Always Be in Control”. Victor has taken control over his life and destiny. He is his destiny! Making and taking shit!
If he was talking like a pencil neck PeeWee you’d doubt if he could back up what he has accomplished. Please learn to listen what he says, absorb it like a sponge and get your ass up to take your business off the ground.
Slowly but surely I’ll disconnect myself from the blue pill life. I already quit my fulltime job. That sucked the soul of my body. I have started strength training again. I am proud to be a man. Not taking orders anymore. I want to be the boss, not a little helpless pup who could be kicked to the curb in a wink of an eye. I am joining the pack of Winner Wolfs, ready to tear shit up, howl to the moon and be free. Never being scared for what life has to offer, but taking it with both hands and creating the conditions I want to live with.
Be strong.
Take care,
Richard Brave
good comment brave n nice name
Noah… Sounds like your throwing a little hate. It was very creative. You can’t please everyone all the time. If that got to you… well, you probably don’t have much going on.
Hello Victor,
I have been following you for a while. When I first came across your website I was awestruck at the amount of self-discipline you have. Truly you have inspired me and still continue to do so. I am basically a kid, but some day I want to be able to fully embrace some of your life changing principles.
Anyway, thank you always.
Cheers,
Andy.
I’m a 17 year old MAN.
I’ve been following B&D since 2012.
I’ve read and studied every article on Bold and Determined.
After I read and knew everything.
I just needed a little motivation to get me to BUILDING!.
Just after studying and reading the last article” Let’s Kick Some Butt in 2014”.
i refreshed the B&D website.
Holy Happy Cow! An new article.
These kind of articles give me the feeling dem’ good ol movies give me.
This shit makes me EXCITED AS HELL!
Reading is good but at some point in time you must do it.
Sign up to get those email alerts about new posts, brotha.
Wow, this posts rocks so much, It just blasted through the bottom of my heart. Badass voice, how do I get this voice?
Come to Bangkok and breathe in the pollution for 18 months!
lmfao
love you
Great post and a great tool to help those chicken shits do something with your life. Victor you are speaking for many of us men who grabbed their balls and built a life worth building. I thank you for the great content and motivation.
THIS WAS EPIC. Loved the Audio voice over. :)
Great article, Vic. It couldn’t have been timelier, as I’ve been thinking about making some big changes.Thanks.
From here in a hospital bed, fears conquered, I congratulate you.
As I’ve told you Victor Pride: Voice is Life.
They said the effects from the car slamming into mine would change everything, but this winner will not remain flat on his back. This grinning winner ignores the pain, because I’ve visualized what’s already been created that affects the whole world. The excitement of multiplying how my Life multiplies LIFE, to the course of human events in all present and future generations. The ones that have a different plan do not count on the winners. They are not a thought, they are weak. Losers have already failed, they will always be fooling themselves as pointless protectors of the mundane. In focused strength, I will exercise freedom from being flat on my back. Doctors said the muscles built saved me. How can one not have life-saving muscles when he is influenced by Victor Pride. And… it’s more than muscles.
I speak, and the culture creation industry shivers. My voice possesses the insecurities they were unaware of, they know suddenly the greatness they could have could become, but they’ve no freedom, they’re slaves to their master in the deals they’ve made long ago. They’ve made their last attempt on the life of this champion. Courage will shun them. Their plans will fail, and we spartans will get the hidden technologies they’ve used to destroy and we carry out the plan that brings life.
The human Voice. The Voice of experience. The Voice of Life. The sincere Voice that’s real. The Voice Connects. Watch the number of dedicated BOLD and DETERMINED WINNERS triple in 33 days.
Glad you now share the gift of Voice. As I’ve told you. It works when each person hears your soul.
That really fired me up ..!!
It was hard to write comment , after hearing it.
But I’ve to pay thnks for it…
Thank you VICTOR ..!
But think about this: Those lifeless zombies still generate money for the company. If they can generate money imagine what a determined man, a man with a soul, can do if he puts his mind to it. .. …
why dont we get these lessons in these universities where they spend billions for so called education
thnx vic
at b&d there should b some more expert advice on starting with different businesses like u wrote abt dumb bodybuilder’s super clever idea, of blue collr business
In india we have so many small business owners who(their team ) cooks food n sell it to public. i want to know in USA why most of the time they go for ready to eat factory food, (u said somewhere a guy was there who could purchase rice for one week but he spent all 20dollars on junk food, so in USA why u have no small restaurnts? who feed 60-70 people in a day n owner is a small businessman.
why they are making rich companies ….super rich?

I wish I had an answer for this. I HATE eating at restaurants in America. Hate it! The food is terrible, unnatural.
Who in fuck told you there are no small restaurants in the U.S.? There are hundreds in every major city and hundreds more scattered across the countryside. Some suck ass but some are great and some have been around for decades.
thn why the fuck u guys eat garbage which is produced in Lab(at homes), and why people who have knowledge of nutrition always says whatever so called restaurnts are selling is garbage. look at the v p’s comment above
“””I HATE eating at restaurants in America. Hate it! The food is terrible, unnatural.”””
If someone wants to buy a fried turd at McTurd’s and take it home for dinner, who am I to stop him? Some people like fried shit.
If I have to eat chain food, I try to eat Subway, their meats are fake but at least the rest of the sandwich is real and nothing is fried. If you’re traveling, you may not have time or information to find a decent place, which is why if I’m traveling I bring my own food and don’t waste time stopping for fried turds.
To whoever cares about their health:
Most people eat like shit because they don’t know any better. It’s very sad, but most people don’t know how to cook even if their life depended on it.
You don’t need much in the kitchen to cook awesome meals. Milk, cornmeal, eggs, flour, fresh fruits and vegetables, peanut butter, beans, organic beef, etc. When choosing your staples, try to stay as natural as possible.
Stay away from processed foods. In general, the more ingredients in a food product the worse it is for you. Our bodies were not designed to consume foods that are high in fats, salts, sugars, preservatives, and chemicals. By the way, it’s ok to eat candy, cookies, potato chips, etc. as long as you do it sparingly.
Don’t have time to cook? Make time. Your health is at stake here and what could be more important than your health?
Sincerely,
Bob
I’ve traveled to 40 out of 50 U.S. states. There are far more healthy options to eat at in California than there are in Mississippi. Sub-cultures and income levels play a large role in the quality of food and the quantity. I can eat a $40 dinner in San Francisco, CA that’s very healthy but smaller in portions than one Biloxi, MS for $15 which is full of garbage. Location matters a lot. That being said, it is best for a man to make his own food and eat healthy through his own choices, or better yet, get his woman to be a great cook.
There are lots of small restaurants that serve greasy fried food, but it isn’t factory food marketed by chains, which is what the original question was about I think. I.E., there are plenty of business opportunities for small restaurateurs. Eating healthy food is a different matter; you can buy crap at restaurants and you can buy it at supermarkets and you can cook it yourself. A lot of what used to be called great home cooking, back in the day when women could cook and were proud of it, was a nutritional train wreck even if it wasn’t laced with industrial chemicals. Sugar, salt, and lard were the three food groups.
If you can find a woman who is willing to cook, able to cook, cooks healthy food and can do it well, and isn’t a manhater, congratulations, you won the lottery. In general a man has to learn to cook for himself if he wants to eat well, at least in America.
Your second paragraph hits the mark squarely. I’ve found the most feminine and happy women love to cook for their man. A woman that’s in touch with her instinctual nature to nurture, are more at peace with themselves and others. If you find such a rare bird in the developed world, you owe it to yourself to put a lock on it and be grateful for what you’ve found.
This post was pure genius. Enough said.
btw congrats on ur frst voice connection. how can i download it????
I’ll make the D/L available soon.
Anything that you upload and post in-line in an article could also be shared to your YouTube channel. I think it would be a great way to expand your audience beyond those already familiar with B&D.com. I’m always traveling for business and would certainly consider loading up a queue of B&D playlists sorted by topic or date uploaded and get pumped up while I’m driving or flying somewhere. Think it over.
Great post vic!
As always you are a hundred percent correct on how working for some one else just kills the soul! I know at my prison I see people in their cubicles with soulless look in their eyes. Waiting for the weekend to come to actually live again!
The problem is that most people do not have the patience to build something from scratch. We live in a “now” society where everything is wanted now and not later. I think people do not want to sacrifice themselves and work to better themselves because it takes time. They all want the success but without the work. In their mind I guess the think that they are entitled to success and that it comes by luck. To me in order to Making money takes time and hard work! Being your own boss is scary to most people who were being told what to do all their lives. This is the majority of the people
Then there are those like yourself and others who push themselves out there and make something of themselves, There is no easy way to success but there is one thing we could all do and that’s to take the first step!
Again great post Vic

Too bad for them, luck never seems to come their way.
Yup so true!
I’m lucky I still have time left to save my soul.
i hate working for others. It’s weird that there are people who love to work under bosses and thinking that their life is secured. From childhood, people are bombarded with the idea that working for others is the way to go and achieve earthly nirvana. You just need to work hard until you lose your soul.
Yo Vic Pride! I’ve been visiting your blog daily and weekly for a few months now. First time I have commented on one of your posts though! First thing I want to make sure you know is the NARRATIVE AUDIO that you added to this post just turned your usual GOLD into PLATINUM GOLD. You’re blog kicks so much ass. Serious dudes all agree. There is no doubt that your audience wants to here MORE audio and see VIDEO of you. Hopefully you’ll add video and audio to your posts on a regular basis from here on because I know your audience loves it as much as I do! Thanks. TIGER
Thanks for commenting Tiger. I will do more.
You sound alot like Trent Reznor!
I made music for years and years and years. Like Reznor I didn’t have a band, I did it all myself, and like Reznor I can’t sing but I made up for it in other ways.
I’m curious, what sort of music did you make? I am a musician as well.
Heavy metal.
Excellent and it seems you’re taking the “reprogramming the subconscious” approach seriously.
Something that bugs me lately, if it’s not too much, can you please detail the additional features you have by hosting with HostGator - things like personal IP, dedicated server, any of those other things they tempt you with when you register with them. Cheers.
Alex, just say NO to all the extra stuff. If you don’t know what it is it isn’t necessary.
I have some semi-IT expertise and learning more, but I’m worried about security mostly. Do you have any problems with their servers, like downtime or anything like hacking attempts, malware, fraud etc.? Thanks for taking the time to reply. And congrats, BND is really going in a pro direction.
No way! They have been phenomenal, their customer service is the best and when I get hacking attempts, fraud attempts they promptly take care of it.
Alex,
I have signed up with Hostgator as well and have been with them since this time last year! I have not had any problems with their service or any down time as of yet! For the price you cannot go wrong with them! I suggest you sign up with them! If its good for Victor Pride then my friend its good for you too!
Looking forward in seeing you out there!
Alex,
I’m using HostGator for my website that B&D inspired me to build http://www.madmenmoney.com. (Purchased through Vic’s referral link, hey, you have to Pay It Forward, because that’s what grateful men do.)
Prior to starting my own site on HostGator, I’ve done web design using different content management systems. (Joomla, WordPress, Salesforce, Drupal, etc.). As someone who has worked in I.T. security for many years, there are some basic steps you ought to take to “lock it down”.
1. Always back up your entire site directory offline. That means you take everything from the most root level folder of your site and download it to your laptop. Keep a copy there. In addition to that backup, occasionally copy that archive to an external hardrive that is stored in a safe location away from your computer in case it is ever stolen or destroyed. You should never have less than three copies of a website (the current live version, the primary backup and the secondary backup). You may also consider cloud backup through a company like Amazon which offers reasonable prices for long-term data storage.
2. Regardless of which system you use (WordPress, Joomla, etc.), KEEP THE PLUG-INS TO A MINIMUM. Many, if not most, security breaches happen because someone exploited poorly written code in some plug-in that hasn’t been updated in three years. Think like a beautiful woman: Look for reasons to reject men, as you can’t date every man who approaches you. Look to reject plugins. Less is certainly more here.
3. Keep your software up to date. Once again, patch your systems daily for both the core components and any add-ons. Also, keep a super strong administrator password. You can even change the default URL for admin logins to help prevent brute force attacks. Also, if available, make sure to lockout the system after a certain number of failed attempts.
4. Read up on security exploits and be aware of the threats that are out there.
5. If you do NOTHING ELSE, do everything I said in step 1. No matter how badly you blow it (or even if you were trying to stay on top of things), if you have regular backups, your business will never be totally destroyed. Good backups are what allows you to sleep well at night.
Thanks, Vincent, this is greatly appreciated.
In regards to no.1, HG also offer cloud backup through a third-party, that’s why I was asking. But from now, I’ll consider backing up on my own through other cloud services.
For the others points, that is great stuff and I’ll put it into practice. Thanks again. Cheers.
GREAT advice!
Great article Vic! I liked the part about “building” the most.
Brilliant audio.
All you really need to do is post those audios on youtube and you should get more traffic.
Great post, “lifeless soulless zombies” is exactly right. I had a colleague in sales who was 37 but looked 45, bags under his eyes, slumped posture, apologized when he asked for anything, had a nagging insane wife who actually called the bar we were at to harass him because he texted her he was going to be an hour late. The managers would ride him hard all year because he wouldn’t stand up for himself and they knew they could. I once asked him why he stayed and he literally answered “stockholm syndrome I guess”.
Stockholm syndrome is the right word. They get infected and then they try to CONVINCE YOU to infect yourself as well.
Fired the fuck up!!!
I love these kind of poetic motivational arse kickers!!
Wow, can you do this audio more often. I love it! lol. Also, your message was well received.
This is fucking badass. I’m going to the gym.
Great job Vic.
Doing something unique like this for a huge audience takes some damn guts.
Unlike 6 months or so ago, Bold and Determined has a face and a voice now.
Let’s get that community (forum) going Vic. I want to share $$$ making ideas with other entrepreneurs.
When can we expect it? I will advertise it and get you plenty of subscribers. Maybe for a commission? (Joking)
On custom shirts: My artist canceled on me, but I found an even better one to help me with the perfect B&D design. I’ll keep you informed for sure.
Audio was SOO GOOD!
Read the article the first time without audio 10/10
Read the article the second time with audio as I read 12/10
“Your employer pays you less money than the amount of money you are generating for the company.”
“A better question to ask is “is it going to be worth it?“.”
Powerful words!
Golden voice. Golden words.
The longer you stay working 9-5 the more you will become a 9-5er. THE SYSTEM IS STRONGER THAN YOU THINK.
That’s why you have to put yourself out there, and start taking risks and face the unknown. Without risk there can be no reward. However, the Sigma pirate is not for everyone.. it is a hard and lonely path with no obvious end in site.
Since I have take the path, i do not think I can come back to work for the corputocracy. If I fail in my mission I will at least die a better death and lay in my death bed for having tried to defeat my inner-beta or at least gnarled my fangs against it.
I have been motivated and inspired by the words on this site. I believe no real man accepts anything for free, not even advice, therefore I am indebted to you. Today I am presented with the opportunity to repay you. Your motivational words deserve a better background score than a 2 bar loop. I am a music composer. As a token of gratitude it would be my pleasure to create a music track for your next audio narration.
Ash, send me an email.
Know what I freakin’ love about you, Vic?
You’re willing to push the boundaries and try out new things. Personally, I prefer to read than listen to audio. But I gotta give you mad props to creating the audio.
Your message is 100% correct. Having a job is risky business. Having total control is your earnings from your own business is the safer option. It won’t be easier, but nothing worth doing is ever easy.
Thanks Vic, It’s 4.30 am and I just had my first coffe in the morning. This is one of my best wake ups ever, it’s better then waking up next to a hot women and have to make her coffe in the morning so she can leave the condo asap.
I’m already in business and it has never felt better.
More coffe, then I’ll hit the gym in order to be ready like a wolf for today.
I’ll buy your books today. That is my gift 2014.
Keep on the good work and God bless you ~
Hello Sir!
I wrote a comment to you some time ago concerning a post that you had made, and I made mention of the number of four letter words in your posts. I would like to thank you for only using one in this post! Otherwise, your posts have awakened in me the man that my Creator intended me to be. I should not be alive. I should never have been born. My mother miscarried four other children, two before and two after me. She was placenta previa with me. I was supposed to have cerebral palsy. I was in a truck and camper accident that should have ended with us at the bottom of a 200+ foot dropoff, exploding like a bomb with gallons of extra gasoline in the bed of the truck and two propane tanks for the fridge. We should have blown through the guardrail, but we stopped six inches shy. Why am I rambling so? Because I never knew what it was to be a real man’s man, until I found you. I have met your type before, (radical Christians at the same time) and I admired such men, yet I did not know the secret of their hidden strength. Now I do. After seven years of providing twenty-four hour care to my mother, who has mononucleosis and a host of other ailments, I am starting my very own corporation. I have worked for my father’s funeral home, as well as my pastor, but always felt that my destiny lie in self employment. Now I am starting out with a men’s clothing business. I spent a long time trying to find dropshippers, but they do not exist for this market. So, I will buy them wholesale and sell them retail online. I will do my own shipping, out of my father’s funeral home. As soon as we are in business, I will post a link for your inspection. By the way, I’m eighteen. Who said an eighteen-year-old cannot be a CEO! They should have their head examined! I am more mature at eighteen than most are at twenty-five! Also, the pride of which you speak so highly is translated into self asteem in my book, and it is far from sin. It is a necessary part of a real man. But I do think you should reconsider whether there be a Deity, or no. For He lives in my heart, and possesses every part of my life. It is He, though your language ring in my ears, yet He keeps my tongue from speaking such things. It is He Who keeps my mind pure, though I be assaulted daily with this vile world. I have never cursed, sworn, drank, smoked, committed fornication or any such thing, and neither shall I so long as He remains Crowned King of all I am and ever shall be. I owe my life to Him, as you can see. I am perfectly sound in mind and body, except for asthma. My Father in Heaven needs more of such men as I am now becoming. Thank you, sir. You have done Him and I, a great service.
“The Kingdom of Heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force” Matthew 11:12

Great post as always.
Watch out if still in Thai.
I am fine, the protests do not concern foreigners. Except when I go to buy eggs and the shelves are empty.
Ah, too funny.
Vic, as many eggs as you eat (I love ‘em too), you need to put a chicken coop out on your patio.
Some people dream about owning sports cars, I dream about owning chickens and goats.
Great article! I think it all comes down to several key points: Be good at something, deliver extremely good work, create a client list and ofcourse: Make sure your profile (website/…) looks like a professional.
Trying this for several months now as a mixing / mastering engineer and I created a small client list and generating around 300 euros a month as a student. Not that bad, but my ultimate goal is to become the best damn mixing engineer on the planet.
Thanks Vic, great post! I’m ready for a kickass monday!
The Hollywood Physique link in “The Real Deal Review of The Hollywood Physique” leads a virus that owned my computer hard… and my laptop when I tried to finish reading it! Fixed them both but does anyone know what the go is with it? Meant to be or something gone wrong?
That’s the first I’ve heard of that. Are you 100% sure it Hollywood Physique?
I will get straight to the point.
You tell people how to improve themselve, how to be a better man etc. and I think you are doing a very good job.
But in all honesty at the end of the day we all just want to make money.
I know a lot of people who do exactly that. Making money by telling people how to make money.
What if you are just telling fairy tails? What if it is not like you are telling like it is?
Because at the end you are the one profiting by people believing you.
Don’t get me wrong I read your blog daily. But there is just some doubt that I am lately having.
Please answer.
For Average Adam it’s a fairy tale. Yes. 100%. For a go-getter it’s reality.
Trust me I am everything except average. Sometimes I wish I could be average. I don’t know but sometimes I am jealous about how some people can live with just being average. But on the other hand I really don’t want to be one of those meaningless bastards.
Back to topic: The reality is cruel. You’ve got your parents and your family financially depending on you. If you block this reality out of your sight they have to starve or even worse die.
Don’t take it the wrong way. I like you. But do you make money somehow else than people telling how to get rich? Do you have other things going for you? Please tell.
I know to many of those people getting rich by selling their ebooks etc. how to get rich.
How do I make money telling people how to get rich?
You are right. You don’t tell people how to get rich. But you tell people how to become the person that becomes rich. Yes this sets you apart from all those people selling their ebooks on how to get rich.
However you do profit by this community you created. Ofcourse you are going to tell everything this community wants to hear…
Buddy, like I said for you it’s a fairy tale and a waste of time to pursue.
Thank you so much!
This is what I wanted to hear. I love you :)
Just kidding. By the way your voice is nice listening to.
Hi Adam,
There is a lot of garbage information out there and I can see how you would be skeptical. However, Victor is the real deal. How do I know this? I have been doing what he suggests for countless years and I tell you man, it works.
I know you are tired of the cliché “You can be whoever you want, as long as you put your mind to it” sounds like bullshit, but it’s true. The world is there for your taking, you just need to grow a set of balls and take action. No one worth his own salt ever got anywhere without taking risks, so step out of your comfort zone and see what you are really made of.
The longer you doubt yourself, the more time you will waste. And that’s time you can never get back.
Sincerely,
Bob
What do you B&D readers think of this website? Seems relatively new but the guy is fairly inspiring in how he talks (not as good as Vic, obviously!) check it out, http://www.leaderofthefree.net/
You’ll want to change that hideous theme. WordPress has taken a real nasty turn lately with their designs, and that theme is the worst of the worst. A good friend of mine started a blog and showed it to me, it had that nasty theme and I made him change it that very instant before I read a single word.
Great Advice. One of my Achilles heel was to start projects off in an amateur way. Your advice to become pro from the get go has been refreshing. I’ve also created a website called Alpha Male Makeover and have joined your affiliate programs. So far no significant views however I know this project will take time. This blog keeps on inspiring me to make content better every time. Great post.
He seems to have followed your advice!
Great. It already looks a thousand times better.
Talking about a company taking profit of you, I work as a real state agent in Brazil. My cut, when I make a sell is 2%, the company gets 3%(I’m only payed when I make a sell). I’m doing it for 6 months, thinking that I would get some ‘privileged learning’ from my coleagues, and from the company too.
I got nothing of it, did all the trades by myself and the company is constantly busting my balls. I’m going pro soon, tired of the crap…I can’t understand how there are people who work for years in this and don’t do it independently.
Bought a company and escrow closes Wednesday. Started building it two months ago when we agreed on price. Hiring salespeople in February. Last day working for the man…tomorrow. Can’t fucking wait.
Congrats fella.
There’s an incredible high in starting your first business or acquiring one. I’ve done it a few times now and the high never gets old. It is something that Johnny Robot Worker Slave will never experience until he gets out of the slave mentality. Rock on.
Victor - you certainly are inspiring. The problem I and Ikknow others have is which biz to start. What if you are in sales but don’t have the products a larger company has.
Sure I’m fired up on throwing away the corporate chains.. but do I actually do?
Fella, I can’t decide that for you. What are you interested in, what are you good at, what do you excel at? If nothing then stay at your job.
Way to go by stepping it up with the audio Vic.
I’m glad to see it was well-received by everyone - me included!
Keep up the great work Vic.
Interesting to finally hear the voice of the man behind B&D - your voice is actually more calming than I had initially anticipated it to be. This definitely had a little bit of an eerie feel to it, as though to say “You will be dead or a ghost if you live your life working for others”.
Thanks!
…“You will be dead or a ghost if you live your life working for others”.
You got it, fella.
Hey victor what do you think about a guy getting a vasectomy in the usa so that he won’t have kids and protect himself from the feminists?
Luis you should definitely get a vasectomy.
Do whatever you want guy. But I wouldn’t get one.
Vic,
Why not bring together those that you know are “in it for the long haul”, like me, Ludvig, Sean, Sam, Chris from GLL, the writer of D&P - not sure his name, and others who I can’t think of off the top of my head that have started either a blog or business and help each other out?
>> Your site is great for beginners starting out and for getting that push to get shit going, but for those that have got it going and want more, a (very small) weekly chat would be cool.
Kind of like a forum, but much smaller than that (not your paid forum idea).
Food for thought boss.
Stay real,
Mr. Veins - Mike C.
MrVeins.com
What would be the purpose of the weekly chat?
Talk with other B&D winners and share ideas and insight about the non 9-5 lifestyle.
Itd’ be like an online version of Meetup.com or blogging conferences, except the dudes “attending” are serious about the online world.
No-bullshit it could be a powerful but small dedicated group of bloggers.
“The Pride Chat”
“The Spartans”
“The Bold Wolves”
Talk soon.
That’s a good idea, but I think it would be a good fit for a forum so people can post on their own time.
A private forum thread would be a good idea.
Interesting idea. I’m definitely down.
I also know some (Internet) entrepreneurs that have experience of different things. It could give a broader view.
The question remains:
“What would be discussed?”
And right now the only thing I can think of is to just share things that have worked. Helpful things we’ve learnt in the past week or so. Maybe great books we’ve read, strategies that have worked well, etc.
Ludvig — share experiences with others (winners only); that’s what would be discussed.
Sebastian — yes, a private forum thread.
No-bullshit would be a good idea.
I would be totally down with this concept.
Why not combine it in a way like the fastlane forum?
General forum (paid or not), but with a closed insider segment for people who already walked the walk…
Fastlane forum already exists, don’t need to clone it.
Good (and done) concept, but difficult because from my experience, entrepreneurs in this field are often very secretive about their methods for success (myself included). It’s an unforgiving career choice and the lessons you learn along the way are invaluable.
I’d share all my methods openly.
The true secret - in my opinion - is not giving up. That’s it. That’s my “method”.
However, I hear what you’re saying Dean but those who’d be open to it would join and those who aren’t open to it wouldn’t join.
Food for thought, gentlemen.

Mr Victor Pride , you have out done yourself again. I love the audio . I have always had problems readying my whole life and audios reach into my Spirit more . Your website it’s truly inspirational and the only email I ever care to see is yours . This audio hit hard and I’ll be listening to it much more. The back ground music Rocks! Working a job it sucks . I see these people all day so unhappy with their lives . I’m taking my steps to better myself but I can see it’s so much easier to be a loser . It’s a Mindset like you say all the time . keep up the great work , Victor . BnD The Greatest Website in the World.
Thank you, Michael.
Hi Victor,
Will you be releasing your ebook on how to make money online anytime soon?
No.
I think you were too serious and this can actually have a depressing effect - even the music created a kind of dark atmosphere. Well maybe the purpose was to actually make us feel how depressing and restraining it is to work for someone else (that’s what I felt), but I was expecting for something that would get me pumped up. Not saying this is bad though, just trying to give you more perspective from a long time reader who has come to always expect the best from you.
Thank you for opening our eyes, and great article as always.
Hello Victor, I’m always reading your articles with excitement.
A little bit of a realistic question. If and when you get worker bees working for you, is it acceptable (or even desirable) that your bees are soul-less bees just working to get fixed amount of money making you rich, or do you want them to be as inspired and motivated as you are? This has been a dilemma for a long time, and I feel that if I keep dealing with it, I would always be being a softy, worrying if I kick that ass too hard that that ass hurts too much. Thanks. I just took a cold shower, no-bullshiting.
Yes, of course. I said it in kind of a rude way, but if you can get a team of people together, excited to work towards the same goal you can make magic happen.
Thanks a lot for your rapid reply! I’m gonna be the best damn English teacher/consultant/motivator in Japan, kicking ass with my NO BS team.
Back when I worked in the corporate world, I was a manager who had 60 people report to me, either directly or indirectly. At first, I was a super strict no-nonsense type boss. It backfired. Nobody wants to work for a hardass. Instead, you can’t “buddy up” to everyone to win them over. You have to give direct orders but say it with excellent energy and enthusiasm. The vast majority of humans crave to be led. You can be a true leader by showing your own love for what you do, and by never criticizing others publicly. If you have to admonish someone, do it in private so they can save face. I finally learned this over the course of my career and it helped me achieve far better results than by being mister tough guy beating everyone into a “slave worker” mentality.
http://www.bakadesuyo.com/2014/01/wasted-effort/
Check out this guy’s blog for lots of research-backed data which shows what the best techniques are for being an effective leader. He’s to the point, and gives you great advice on what works and what doesn’t. Leadership is to be a student at the game of business. Never stop learning.
I wonder why the title of that blog is “bakadesuyo.com” which is Japanese meaning “(someone) is a fool, duh”.
I HIT PLAY TWICE!! I AM A BOSS. I SHATTERED MY OPPRESSORS CHAINS LONG AGO. DO YOU KNOW WHO YOUR OPPRESSOR IS? YOU MOTHER F#CKER! YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE THAT CAN SET YOUR SELF FREE…
Sir you have a talent for getting people fired up and motivated. Keep ‘em coming!
This sounded to me like Alec Baldwin in the movie Glengarry Glen Ross. But more inspiring. You killed it.
You know what? Fuck Alec Baldwin. I just listened to the movie clip on youtube and I think you have more heart. You can be famous Victor! I know that you know it already. Winner Wolfs inspire and lead from the front by example. OW-OW-OWWW!
Winner Wolves? Damn my abominable spelling!
-Sigma out
Thanks fella.
Great advise Vic. Also, you have really nice neck and trap development.
Victor do you think that’s still a good idea to get into real estate here in the states? is it still a good business?
Yes.
Vic,
Another excellent article. Hope all is well.
Also Vic, I loved the pod cast. Cool Stuff Brother.
Gracias, amigo.
Hey Vic,
Random question. Do you have insurance?
Negative.
Told you before your blog contains life changing information but now I have to say it’s a damn art! Images tunes you bind your damn soul into this blog brother that’s why it’s so successful.
Ha, you sound just like how I imagined, Victor.
Since you don’t have insurance, how do you handle or plan for emergencies? What would you do if you got into a severe accident? Do you keep emergency cash for that?
Medical care is not so expensive where I live.
REPLY PLEASE!
I am (20) currently studying computer science. I don’t like it because its to nerdy.
I am thinking about becoming a doctor.
However it will take about 13 years when I am finally a doctor.
Please, please I need your honest opionion.
I am really desperate this is why I am asking you (besides other people/professional ofcourse)
“I am really desperate this is why I am asking you”.
You didn’t ask me anything. When you ask someone a question you use a question mark to indicate it is a question. I can’t understand this mess of a comment, I don’t know what you’re asking me.
Oh I am sorry.
Here is the thing.
I am currently studying computer science. But I hate it. Its too much nerd like. I don’t want to be a nerd.
I am thinking about study medicine. There are several reasons but 1. I like it 2. I like the action you get as a doctor.
I know you are not a professional on this topic but I value your opinion.
I am sorry for being rude. But I am quite depressed right now.
Still no question, but seems obvious what you want to do.
English can’t be your first language…
You stated yourself that you hate computer science and enjoy studying medicine. Sounds like you just solved your own problem, bud.
“I like the action you get as a doctor.”
Sounds like you plan on being an American doctor, that fits 99% of the their reason for going into medicine. Money and Image (or action as you say).
Computer science can be what you make of it. Break the mold son.
Action as a docor, sounds prety fag to me, action should be taken as it comes, change your priorities son, you are a man be proud about it, don be a pussy begging fag.
1. Sorry If it hurts i only wish you good.
2. Sorry for my english im not english speaker
“Pussy-begging fag”? WTF? Fags don’t want pussy, by definition.
That reminds of an old episode of the Simpsons. One of the bullies makes fun of Bart for having a girlfriend, “Bart has a girlfriend! That’s so gay!”.
Dude, not wanting a good major just because it makes you look like a nerd is not a good reason. That just shows that you care about what people’s opinions of who you are, which I’m pretty sure, isn’t what B&D and Victor stand for.
Besides, being a doctor is also nerdy. Trust me, I have a background in medicine. But whoever said that nerds cant be awesome?
Do something because you want it, not because you care too much about titles.
I agree. I am a scientist and I LOVE what I do. If knowledge were a drug, I would be a full-blown drug addict!
Nerdy? Ha! I’m not rich now but I will be. Look at all these so-called nerds (Bill Gates comes to mind) that were probably picked on as a child and were probably treated as social outcasts in their youth for being different or not being popular. Most of these nerds go on to build empires and becoming wealthy beyond their wildest imaginations!
To Dave:
I feel like a broken record, but I’ll say it again.
It is infinitely more important of what you think about yourself than what others think about you. You need a passion for a career, not just a job that gets you by. If you want to become a doctor because you have a burning desire, then go for it. However, if you want to become a doctor for status and wealth (as most do) I almost guarantee you will regret it and be miserable. Happiness is liking what you do, I promise that.
Best of luck to you, sir!
Bob
Great post
Victor, what are your opinions about information technology professionals? you have made fun of that career as a career choice in previous articles? why is that? supposedly that’s a hot and secure field in usa considering the economy and a good choice for career if you started college. Can you clear that point up please? thanks…
1- It’s boring as fuck
2- it’s not safe, you can get fired
3- You waste your money and time on college
4- You’re not your own boss
5- Can’t get rich, because you are making someone else richer
6- 9-5 jive
IT is fine if 1. You like it and 2. You’re satisfied with a career and 3. You’re smart enough to be good at it. You don’t need a degree but it helps getting started. Note I’m talking about real IT work, not tier 1 tech support. And point 1 is most important. If you don’t LIKE sitting in front of a computer screen for hours banging your head against the obstinate reality of abstract logic, you will hate IT and you will suck at it.
An idea for Uncle Vic (if you haven’t thought of it already) - A regular feature on the music you listen to get you pumping and focused at the gym.
I am loving this at the moment:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2PvNEfKy96k
Seamus, it would be a boring page because I listen to the same music and I don’t listen to much, if any, new music. For example this is the last song that got me real fired up and it’s 15 years old. http://youtu.be/NINtj-N1leo
I just listened to that Kings of Leon song, I like it. It sounds like it belongs in an 80’s movie like Roadhouse.
I love that movie Roadhouse! It has been awhile since I have seen it, but do you remember that part where that guy changes the writing on the bathroom stall from “For a good fuck, call….” into “For a good Buick, call…” Ha ha!
So basically, does this mean that the only way to have a purpose and a soul is to have your own business? How about those who are employed, but have reached great heights, are famous, and got very rich because of their huge salaries? Also, does it always have to be about money?
But yeah, a lot of those in the lower levels are like zombies. I guess it is what you make of it.
Thanks for the post Vic, it gave me another push towards what I want to do.
I’m planning to be a freelancer starting this year. I want to do this because I want to have more time to pursue my other interests like travelling, and I want to have my own name in lights out there, not become be in a company’s shadow for eternity. Would you consider freelancing as a form of business, or at least a start of one?
A lot of people frown upon (or laugh at) my decision. They say that freelance work is not real work, and blogging is not really a profession. Also, I graduated from a Health Science Course, but I want to do something in journalism. They say it’s dumb to throw 5 years of education for another career… I say it’s a lot dumber to throw the rest of my life to stick to something that I dont want anymore as a career, just to please others. Besides, I’m still interested in health advocacy and education, but not as a career (probably as a way to give back to the world instead).
I’m not one to conform to the society’s preconceived notions of success anyway. I’m a a man who wants to live in my own terms. If they want a 9-5 job, or if their ideals of triumph means marrying a girl at 23, or getting a loan, they can do that. Nothing wrong there. They should just stop shoving it to other people’s throats though.
“Would you consider freelancing as a form of business, or at least a start of one?”
It’s a way to start, absolutely. But I would never want that to be the end goal, just the beginning. Eventually you should have enough work that you can hire out some of the tasks you don’t want to do and that’s when you’ve got yourself a business.
Right. Exactly. I’m planning to hire an assistant and a publicist and more writers eventually. Thanks man!
Hey Victor
A solid audio post, no doubts but sometimes I feel like you’re re-covering topics that you’ve already gone through. But to comment on the audio alone - it was very catchy and had a clear vocal, good use of emotion and that background music.. Definitely the best part, the damn background music.
I’m not even into podcasts but you definitely should do more of these but may I ask what plugin you use to display it on the post? Thanks in advance.
Walt
That’s the built in wordpress audio player.
It’s not going to be easy. At all.
“You bust your butt to get clients and you do the best damn job that anyone in your field does. You build up a large client list.”
Great post man.
Hello, Victor. The fire inside me is getting even stronger for each article you post. Good job on the voice clip. I hope you do more of those! I am 18 years old now and I am working on my skills to create my own video games business. It’s what I want since I was a kid but I let SO many things stop me from going my own way. But now, I will not let them anymore. I WILL get what I WANT!
Great article, Vic!
By the way - have you ever considered contributing that vid or to “Non-Jobs”?
They have a channel in youtube, Eliot Hulse has a non job too I learned it from his vid.
They basically help people get out of their jobs, anything at all as long as to help people earn without needing to have a job.
You can reach more people and B&D will also get more exposure.
“By the way – have you ever considered contributing that vid or to “Non-Jobs”?”
I have no idea what this means.
“They basically help people get out of their jobs, anything at all as long as to help people earn without needing to have a job.”
I thought I already did that.
http://nonjob.com/
basically.
They need people like you Vic
I was honestly surprised with the approach you took to this. When I read your stuff the Victor Pride in my head sounds more gritty and hardcore, and howls more.
Victor Voorhes.
Your voice and background music reminds me of the Ryan Holiday Trust Me, I’m Lying book trailer. Similar style: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BIzWRTCMk0k
Did you ever read that book? If you haven’t, don’t. That trailer is EXACTLY what the book is like. Every single page of the book is what the trailer says, repeated over and over.
Never read it, but it is on my wishlist… along with about 97 other books. May have to bump it to the bottom now.
The podcast was awesome!
Hey Victor, question: shouldn’t guys who don’t want kids just get a vasectomy? Do you think there are there long term problems involved that we’re not being told? Does it affect our Sex Transmutation abilities?
I’d never personally get one. That’s my answer.
Hey Victor
Love your work
Just curious . do you have children?
Negative.
Hi Vic
Would you mind sharing some stories about how you got fired from all those places, eg futnitute store bank etc. Sounds like you were Bold in those days too by nature but the Determined part I guess developed later on when you started hitting the gym?
Mostly I was laid off (they fired everybody) or I got fired because I was a real asshole. I never cared about being fired, not once, I would never allow myself to ever be happy about having a job so when I was fired it didn’t phase me. It was always my goal to do my own thing, it just time to figure out HOW to do it. Frankly, gym time had nothing to do with any of it. I’ve been this way since I was 18 years old and buying those mail order “work from home” pamphlets trying to figure out how people actually become entrepreneurs or artists.
Derek and Victor, why dont you guys team up and affiliate each other? you’re both producing really good content and would be stronger as a partnership. Just a thought.
Hey Victor,
I’m a university student and most of my classes are in the afternoon and evening so you reckon I can wake up at 7-8am because if I wake up before I might get tired for the evening classes which are at 5.30-8.30pm
Excellent Post Victor. I always read these posts more than once because they add value and purpose to my life. I have taken this advice and so far things are working for me. Keep up the great work with the site. It’s probably worth millions now.
The Freeman is a MAN!
That’s Life … is a Jungle system. Only the winner can take the World!
Nice Post. Respect.
Hi victor. What do you think of living off the grid- or least half way- in America? Just the general pursuit of that lifestyle where you can cut costs of life down as much as possible or to the point a person is content with while pursing your options being your own boss man.
“Just the general pursuit of that lifestyle where you can cut costs of life down as much as possible or to the point a person is content with while pursing your options being your own boss man.”
I’m with you 100% on this one, that’s how I live.
Living “off the grid” I think is just not necessary because a) you can’t hide from the government, so no point in trying and b) you become extremely paranoid just by thinking about being “off the grid” all the time.
It is very true. People live lives of quiet desperation. In some ways, years ago was far superior for true freedom. Now, so many are stuck in crap jobs, huge debt, are depressed and the American Dream is over and out for them. So many are nothing but financial servants who just owe and owe… And all for what? To impress someone else? The truth is one does not need a lot in life to be happy. People are sold a bill of goods by those wanting financial slavery that you “Need” this or that. No. You NEED your freedom as much as possible!
Speaking of off the Grid, this is not off the grid but just a mini version of dumping something. When I finally decided to get off the cable TV crack pipe, it was one of the single greatest things I did.. My bill went from about 120 bucks a month down to 8 bucks a month. I bought the Roku box which gives Netflix and some other things. And 8 BUCKS is the full cost now per month. I feel so much better and free doing it. If one can do that with electric bills and heating with off the grid methods, I feel they are taking a huge step toward freedom.. People are slaves because they choose to or are too lazy to think how to get out of the financial scam that has them like a mouse on the wheel. I know I was. Now I am trying to break out of that vile dependence.
Victor,
It would be cool to see some more in-depth articles from you about spartan living. Even an E-book, perhaps? I know a lot of us aspiring bosses could always use more creative dough-stretching tips.
Here’s to no more slave-income!
i am starting a blog on the building industry exclusively. i am an architect and i am in love with architrcture. have you got any tips to get me started?
thank you, victor…
Can you put this on the soundcloud account also?
I’ve listened to this post more times than I can count.
Victor, you are the fuel to my spark. I’m even tempted to set this as my Alarm.
Thanks for the amazing content.
I purchased 30 days of discipline not to long ago. Will do a review sometime. It opened my eyes more than any other book i’ve read.
Hello Victor. I came across your e-book ’30 Days of Discipline” and your website from GoodLookingLoser. Before I found your website I had no desire to start a business. There was a chain of events that brought me to GLL and then here, and I don’t think it was an accident. Although I’m happy with my job, one of my goals of 2014 was to make better use of my free time. It just now hit me that I could be running my own business. I’ve spent my life so far trying to separate myself from the pack, but two aspects of my life that I have not been successful in are money and freedom. I wanted to thank you for inspiring me to do something I never considered before.
So glad to hear it friend.
Meant to comment on this before but forgot… So I do it now. VERY COOL VICTOR. Do more of these!
Maybe you could do it on the post “be a killer”!?
