Subj: Gambling for fun and profit
Pictured: UFC fighter Conor McGregor on the left, a picture I took in Vietnam on the right
————-
I get asked how I make money all the time even though I’ve explained it a dozen times. Here’s the answer: I make money as a blog artist.
Then I use that money to make more money.
I make extra money as entertainment for myself.
What does all of this have to do with UFC fighter Conor McGregor?
Conor was an accomplice in one of my plans.
See, I enjoy fighting, winning, traveling and making money.
There’s no reason not to put all of those things together, so I did.
Let’s start at the beginning…
I had to go to Vietnam for six days to take care of some business.
My Vietnam trip coincided with a UFC event (UFC 178).
UFC 178 was an event I planned to watch because the fight card was exciting and I especially wanted to see the fight between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier.
I had a sneaking suspicion that Conor McGregor was going to beat his opponent and win the fight.
It seemed like easy money to me, so I decided to put my money where my mouth is.
I decided that I was going to bet on the fight and let UFC fighter Conor McGregor pay for my Vietnam vacation.
Expenses
My total expenses (before food and fun) for my Vietnam trip were $882.15. That’s…
- $327.55 for three roundtrip airplane tickets from Bangkok to Ho Chi Minh City
- $494 for five nights in a private three bedroom high-rise condo in the Binh Thanh district of Ho Chi Minh City
- $60.60 for two pre-approved visa on arrivals + rush service for two Americans (the visa lines in Vietnam take forever so I pay extra to skip the queue)
Betting
When you bet on mixed martial arts fights you bet on odds. You never bet $100 to make $100.
If you bet on the favorite you may only make a fraction of what you bet. In this fight I’d have to bet $2.75 to win $1.
To make $882.15 I had to bet $2,425.91 for Conor McGregor to win.
That means I had to risk $2,425.91 of my hard-earned money to make my Vietnam Vacation money back.

If Conor lost the fight I could be out 2 and a half grand. That’s a pretty steep bet just to make $800.
Was that a “safe” bet?
Here’s a picture of the fighters one month before the fight took place…
Pictured: Dustin Poirier on the left, Conor McGregor on the right
Can you look at this picture and guess who would win the fight?
Take a closer look.
Look at the eyes because the eyes don’t tell lies.
The lesson in dominance is as clear as day and the fight was won before the fighters stepped into the octagon.
When I bet on fights I don’t bet on whims I bet on dominance.
The eyes don’t lie so I bet my money on Conor.
No need for second guessing or hemming and hawing.
So how did it turn out?
Look at the eyes. The eyes don’t tell lies.

Conor McGregor won the fight in a little over a minute and I got paid a nice, little $882.15 which took care of all of my travel expenses (minus food and fun).
My Vietnam pad was paid for, my airline tickets were paid for and my visa rush service was paid for.
And it was all paid for doing something I would have done either way - watching a fight.
All in a day’s work at Chateau Pride.
I’m not a professional gambler, I’m not advising you to gamble and this isn’t a ‘how to gamble’ article.
What I’ve done is turn a casual hobby (watching fights) into a side business.
My betting strategy is the simplest in the world: I bet on winners.
I don’t bet on talent and skill, I bet on will.
Who has the will to win? That’s who I put my money on.
Like Mike Tyson’s mentor said, “Will, not skill“.
You can always make money on a guy who has a champion mindset, you can never be 100% on a guy who doesn’t have a champion mindset.
The only thing that separates a champion from a journeyman is will. Journeymen have a fear of success, champions don’t.
Mindset is more important than skill.
Want to know a secret?
You don’t have to be a fighter to have the will to win.
You can be a Billy Badass and do whatever you want or you can be Billy Broken, the boy who does what he’s told.
If you want money you can beg your boss for a raise, or you figure out a way to make money and then take it.
All it is is a motherfucking mindset.
The choice to excel or the choice to stagnate is always yours.
Oh, and when you have that mindset you can recognize it in others in a split second.
I have it, Conor McGregor has it…
Who else has it?
Until next time.
Your man,
-
Victor Pride

Perfect timing for me. Im still slaving away hours for minimum pay while Im building my own business. Ill be saying goodbye to everyone here VERY soon:) Iron will paves the road to freedom.
btw -diggin the shirts, Im gonna get one soon
I’m surprised by this article. I wouldn’t peg you as a betting man Victor.
If you’re unable to put money on something then you aren’t sure. I’m sure.
You took a big chance betting on McGregor…Poirier was his toughest challenge in a top ten opponent and he trains at American Top Team.
I was already a big fan of your blog… And now that I know you follow the UFC, I am a bigger fan.
Respect,
Ken
Poirier has the skills, he didn’t have the will. I watched every piece of footage on earth of Poirier and McGregor, it was clear as day who would win. McGregor wanted the win, he wanted the gold, Poirier’s goal was to take down the cocky McGregor a peg or two. McGregor wanted to rise up, Poirier wanted to bring another man down. Easy bet.
Maybe, but Macgregor has beat everyone he’s every fought. Poirer can’t say the same.
I’m not going to lie. I don’t watch too much mma simply because I don’t have cable nor the time to sit down and watch too much tv. But just looking at that picture, and not knowing who was who, you knew who would win that fight. Connor not only had the eyes of a wolf but he’s looking over the other guy like he was ready to tear him apart right then and there. The other guy looks wimpy in comparison.
I don’t have cable either. I paid $54 to watch this fight on PPV. I also planned this article weeks in advance, otherwise I would have bet more to cover all the money I withdrew from ATMs.
Well done Vic, nice gamble.
I am a huge believer in body language. It’s said there are very few people in the world who can detect even the most subtle of facial expressions that reveal a ton about someone in an instant.
I actively train myself in this art - I don’t go to bars to drink, I go to bars to read minds.
Indeed. I’m often shocked when other people can’t comprehend body language or small gestures. They say more than words ever will.
You are so right Brother Vic. Its all how you carry yourself. Body language is everything. Unfortunately, for some it cannot be learned. You have to have a look and a walk that says to others that they will have a really bad day if they decide to mess with you.
Just a few weeks ago I was the subject of mistaken identity.
This guy puffed his chest, balled his fists and started screaming he was going to kick my ass.
I took a step towards him, looked him right in the eye, and as menacingly as possible said, “You have the wrong man.”
He almost immediately looked away, then walked away.
About 10 minutes later my heart rate returned to normal.
Excellent Grey Wolf!! He will think twice if there is a next time.
You don’t strike me as a betting man but
as you saw the ‘win’ in his eyes I’m guessing it’s not really gambling.
There have been several fights in my life in the ring where I ‘knew’ I had won the fight before I had even thrown a shot.
The moment I saw fear in my opponents eyes just before we touched gloves was the moment I had already won the fight. Was just a matter of which round he was going down.
Nice post Vic. I remember Tyson saying in interviews that D’Amato spent a ton of time teaching him skullduggery and psychological warfare and I think of all fighters Tyson had the strongest visible killer instinct I’ve seen. Tyson kept his eyes on his opponent from the minute he stepped in the ring until he heard the bell. He said that 80% of guys had broken before the fight even started, even if it was just a slight flinch he knew they were done.
The picture you put up says it all, McGregor is ready to kill with concentrated aggression and Poirier is imitating a blank stare to hide his fear. The only fighter with a legitimate blank stare was Fedor but he was operating in a different dimension.
Great assessment. Very astute.
I think it was either Bass Rutten, or someone (don’t hold my word on this), who gave really good comment about Fedor stare. He said:
1. Silva for example have a killer stare, you go with him in the ring and his opponent get to think “this is gonna hurt”
2. But Fedor will not stare down, he will avoid eye contact, until the very beginning of fight. But when fight begins, he won’t just look you in the eyes, he will look through your eyes and his opponent get to think “shit, I will die”.
Victor, since I started reading your blog, I came to realize the importance of mindset.
Winner’s mindset is backed up by physical strength and determined will.
How do you keep it, physically and mentally? How do you maintain the all-out mindset?
You can condition yourself to do anything. You can condition your mind and your body. How do you maintain an all out mindset? Will it.
Got it. Thanks.
What fighting styles do you use or practice Vic?
I don’t anymore. I’ve studied BJJ, MMA and Muay Thai. “I just don’t have time” anymore.
You Just train Bodybuilding now right Vic??
Correct.
I was was looking for this fight for a long time ! Conor is a great fighter I love watching him, he has flow in his movement and he is perfectly in the moment. He is definition of a person doing what he loves to do and pursuing his dreams agresivelly. I also love his interviews, very inspirational person in all aspects. Congratulations on the win to you too !
His flow is great, his stance is great - like a horse. I actually don’t think he’s supremely talented, I think he gives off a vibe and the other guys knock themselves out.
The dynamic between them seems decided ion that moment.
Indeed.
Victor, will boldanddetermined.ru be developed in future? Do you have any plans in spreading you BAD empire on the Russian audience?
Yeah, if I can find a Russian partner who’s in it to win it.
Victor, please read my message at XXXX. I have an offer for you.
That’s not my email, that’s the email of my BADMIN. Word will get to me though.
And you just gave email account for world spammers to see. There is a reason why you never post live email accounts.
Whoa, surprise article outta nowhere!
That pic of the two staring at each other gave me a good laugh, Conor was telepathically telling him “I am going to erase you from the surface of this planet”. Still laughing now, the eyes convey much more than words. No wonder they say eyes are the windows of the soul.
He’s’from dublin… It seems like irish men are hard tough motherfuckers
Yep, you got that right.
We’ve a warrior culture that goes back thousands of years, fighting everyone from ourselves to the Brits..and playing sports like this..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rv9FGy9MqOY
damn lacrosse looks fun to play
Its called “Hurling” not Lacrosse.
Interesting…
Got me thinking.
Does the body language — mentality relationship work the other way around?
As someone who feels fear often, I’m always trying to develop my certainty so I can dominate my own niche, life questing.
Nobody in the world is doing this like me, and I fear that the concept is too revolutionary for the current, feeble minds that occupy the planet.
Cheers,
D/C Russ
You mean visualization and seeing the person you want to be in your “mind’s eye”?
Is that the secret to certainty?
Whenever you feel fear, you just visualize?
Makes sense.
I was just asking if that was what you’re talking about.
From what I’ve seen, visualization and self-projection are some of the most important things in self-dev. After them comes hard work, of course.
Well in the event that your mentality isn’t certain, can you physically adjust your body language or actions to help make you certain?
In other words, what if you aren’t certain of your goal but you still take all the physical steps to get there?
Will you eventually become certain? Or will you just spin your wheels over and over again no matter how hard you try, until you adjust your mindset to certainty?
How does one become certain if they’re not 100% certain already?
Do you just latch on to small wins along the journey to help you build certainty?
Is certainty like an on/off thing…or is it more of a skill that you develop with time?
Everybody feels fear. You move forward in spite of fear. You know the difference between a hero and a coward? They both feel fear. The coward runs away, he cowers. The hero moves forward in spite of fear.
So obvious. So simple.
It’s good to have some outside confirmation, even though I already knew that.
I was just worried that there was something more to it than persistence.
It’s just so dang hard to believe that people can actually give up…how is that even possible?
What the heck do they do after giving up? I feel like misery would eat me alive every second until I got back on the horse.
It’s nauseating to me to think that all unsuccessful people are unsuccessful simply because they gave up and let their fears win.
What the hell kind of world do we live in!?
I need to work on my hatred of humanity…it’s bleeding into my art.
Today , that is just what I needed to hear - thank you!
Great post Victor!
I always knew you could tell a winner by their eyes.
Wow body languages do have power. All this time I overlooked on body languages and thought it wasn’t good to judge others on body languages. These articles just prove me wrong after time after time. I just had to go back and read one of your old articles on halo effect. The more I read about these and actually see other people’s body languages, the more it makes sense to me. I can’t believe I had not paid attention to small details like these. Another great article by Vic.
‘Victorious warriors win first and then go to war, while defeated warriors go to war first and then seek to win’ - Sun Tzu.
That first picture said everything.
Great quote.
Been a long time following you Vic! This is my first time posting a comment!
Thankyou for everything…you are a big part of my success…finally quit my job and making some money online, will be travelling soon to Asia (will start with Thailand), would be great to meet you!
Wanted to ask you, on which site do you bet?
Bovada.
You should of made an affiliate deal with Bovada before you published this article. I’m about to make an account right now :)
Well you saw a fight AND managed to win money with it. I am sure you smiled like a lion when you saw the knock-out in the first round!
Vic, What do you make of Womens UFC?
I think it’s repulsive. UFC are making a big mistake promoting the hell out of it - mirroring the way American football is going down the crapper due to the Feminist agenda. Total turn off for Men.
dude, watching a winner like Ronda Rousey is not repulsive.

I prefer feminine women, not this.
The only time I have enjoyed watching women fight is when it was over…. ME!
I don’t purposely watch it but when I do I’m actually I’m quite surprised at how nasty those girls fight. It makes for good entertainment but I don’t want it in the sport.
Cool article Victor.
I sure wish the Atlanta Falcons would have won yesterday haha. I take it you’re not encouraging gambling.
Once you have a blog in place can you work anywhere in the world without a visa? I’m Canadian and want to move to the US but have no green card or visa
The article is not about gambling and no you can’t live anywhere without a visa.
I think I wrote that out poorly.
What I meant was this, since I am Canadian I allowed to live in the US 6 months out of the year. That does no entitle me to work though. I was wondering if you can still work on a blog in the US while down there for 6 months? Or is that considered working?
I LOVE Florida and the cost of living there is so low compared to where I live.
I have no idea. Perhaps someone else reading knows.
Yeah, it’s something I need to look into to.
The cost of living in Orlando/Tampa is literally half where I live. It’s not an impossible goal to be living down there permanently within 2 years. There’s ways to get residency. I LOVE the hot weather and all the hot black women down there.
I really believe in my idea for the site. I have a ton of articles and footage shot, now it’s time to figure out wordpress
Cool site though. You really speak the truth.
Hey great way to make maney, you have iron balls
Something tells me that you won more money than that lol,
do you have to pay taxes or they deduct it?
You have to pay taxes on everything. No, it isn’t deducted automatically. I don’t receive paychecks thoughtfully reduced by the government.
The guy with the eye of the tiger loses here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LK42zojlLXw
Yeah, right.
You have to be being sarcastic , or you just can`t read eyes. The guy that got knocked out eye`s presented a False Overconfidence. His eyes said ” Look at me , i`m the big bad wolf ” , While on the inside he was not sure at all. The guy who knocked him out eyes said ” Who are you looking at punk “. The Winner was not Sweating the Loser one bit.
Hi Victor,
I love MMA and am starting a Blog about MMA/Workout/Fitness I would like to incorporate some sort of gambling or affiliate to but living in Canada that might not work out regarding payments/gambling laws ect. Any suggestions and ideas you might have would be greatly appreciated regarding my idea would be great. Plans in the future are to get the website a nice look incorporate social media and start writing and get a decent following. The area has a bit of competition but the industry is huge and I am very passionate about it in the future I can see myself reporting on UFC events and possibly doing a some training and travelling this is my goal for the Blog/Site. Always love reading your articles and BTW good pick on Conor McGregor great exciting new fighter!!!
Thanks
Simon
MMA is huge, there is without a doubt room for someone with perspective to come in and make some green.
Thanks for the feedback Vic I believe so also lots of opportunity for affiliate products given the right amount of traffic and as for the gambling it would get a bit complex, maybe just advice or predictions for now…later who know’s.
Thanks
Vic
Keep pumping out KICK ASS content!!!
Gambling is a tricky thing to promote. Bovada, for example, only works with US customers which is a real turnoff. If your predictions are good you could charge for a weekly newsletter where you give your predictions. Build up your name and rep first, of course, but that would be something I’d be into - someone with great insight giving me good tips.
I will get on that Vic firstly my goal is to give an unbiased opinion of MMA and offer some fitness advice then looking to monetize in the future but the tips for sure bud you offer great advice so naturally I would give it in return. Firm believer in helping those who help you in any way I believe in working with like minding driven people no need for flaky salesmen too many of those already!!!
Thanks again Brother.
I never thought about gambling as a business venture, but as I read more of this blog it changes how I see the world. Anything involving the exchange in money there is a chance to make money.
Victor next time instead of paying for the fight watch it for free online. Go to firstrowsport.eu and save yourself that money….
Nah, I don’t play with that pirating shit. If I want something I’ll buy it.
You see that is a MAN of words right there. Another notch of respect. He sells eBooks himself. He does NOT like when other people pirate his books. Therefore he does NOT pirate other people’s books. He is an honest businessman. He practices what he preaches.
Good on you.
By the way, this reminds me of a very rich guy in America called Alex Pod - a guy who made his millions playing poker and also taking big money risks on sports betting. instagram.com/mralexpod
Floyd Mayweather is also famously a rich guy who makes extra cash sports betting.
it can be done!
Just checked out his page, livin’ the dream.
Off-topic but important information for those who have money in popular financial centers like Switzerland or Hong Kong http://www.smh.com.au/business/oecd-declares-end-to-bank-secrecy-20140922-10k67b.html No more banking secrecy.
Those of us with money in those locations know that secrecy is gone.
Conor Mcgregor is a mover!
Mcgregor’s a future champ. Victor, in one of your posts you say something along the lines that the poor believe you need to suffer and sacrifice to achieve success while the rich know they can have everything. Same principle applies here. If you watch the UFC 178 vblogs, you can see Porier is all tense and he’s making himself miserable and angry which deems to be the only way to win. Meanwhile, Mcgregor is working hard on his game but he’s still having a ball of a time. Living it up in a presidential suite, having a laugh with his girlfriend etc. It doesn’t take a genius to see Mcgregor’s a winner.
I placed the bet before the embedded series began. I watched all of them and they solidified what I already knew to be true.
“It doesn’t take a genius to see Mcgregor’s a winner.”
You are 100% correct, it doesn’t take a genius. It just takes a pair of eyeballs.
Victor,
On GoodLookingLoser’s web I’ve read about importance of HCG for sexual functioning while taking or after getting off TRT. Did you ever use it? Do you think it’s important or even necessary thing while on TRT?
I used it once while on. I felt nothing, but it was from a Thai pharm and certainly could have been bunk.
Victor,
I am going OT for a sec. I was reading an old post about razors(*). I use a Mach 3 Turbo-Whatever to shave my head bald, up to the point I look like a bowling ball. However, if I wait more than two or three days of regrowth, it takes FOREVER and requires two-hundred passes. I also noticed that I go through razor heads quite fast (still cheaper than a barber shop). Are safety razors good for head shaving? How often do you replace the blades?
Thanks!
(*) https://boldanddeterminedarchive.com/2011/01/01/live-like-a-spartan-stop-using-disposable-razors/
Yeah. I’de use a new blade each time I shaved my head (never shaved my head with a razor before). My face can only take realistically two shaves before I have to replace blades.
Not a good article. I’ve seen fighters put the bravado on and get killed. Sometimes relaxed is more dangerous. It was a gamble and you came off OK but you are projecting the wrong message by using gambling as the metaphor. Penny pinching and gambling is an oxymoron. Keep up the good work. I’m still a fan but this article doesn’t cut it for me because gambling isn’t a calculated risk. Its a guess and you got lucky.
Penny pincher? Wrong blog fella.
Reminded me of Tyson totally. Guys would freak out way before the fight even started. Some guys he was much smaller than but the mental war of being dominated and fear were already established in the loser. It totally matters. I remember seeing some legendary baseball pitchers on the mound like Tom Seaver or Nolan Ryan and hitters are just like “Oh man, this is going to be a long day.” You can just see the defeat on some swings of the bat..No different here. While it is true some guys have “lulled” other guys to sleep with a casual attitude in the fight game, I saw dead eyes in Poirier. That is a big difference.
“Reminded me of Tyson totally. Guys would freak out way before the fight even started.”
You are 100% correct. Dustin Poirier knocked himself out in this fight, he barely got cracked on the head and went down like a sack of potatoes.
“In every battle the eyes are the first to be conquered…”
- Tacitus, Germania
Germans lost two world wars…
I reply to myself: I am an idiot. I read German… didn’t even think about Tacitus. My apologies, my classical studies teacher would punish me.
This post straight away reminded me of Rocky III when Rocky gets into the ring the first time with Clubber Lang. Clubber stares Rocky down like he is about to shiv him and Rocky can’t meet his eyes.
Watch from the two minute mark: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7F_bsE9B1LM
This movie was not as good as the preceding two movies but there is a strong lesson. Rocky, having became the biggest name boxer in the world gets soft and is destroyed by Lang who is hungry for the title.
Well Victor even professional athletes are following what you have been saying all along. Read this http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-big-league-stew/derek-jeter-announces-new-website-140420777.html. I think that you will find it very interesting.
Blogging is publishing. Just like magazines and newspapers. Money is to be made. Look around you next time you go outside and tell me if you see anyone reading a magazine or a newspaper. It’s all digital now.
Stop Press; Conor McGregor is fighting Diego Sanchez on Nov 15th in Mexico.
from his Twitter:
“I am fighting @DiegoSanchezUFC in Mexico, November 15th. He spoke a big game. Now he will pay with his career. VIVA LA EIRE!!!”
https://twitter.com/TheNotoriousMMA/status/517552590754947072
Vic, Will you be betting on McGregor?
“Vic, Will you be betting on McGregor?”
If that fight happens, yeah. I can’t see Diego winning, he already lost his killer instinct. He’s on his way out, he’s emotional and he’s reckless. Conor is on his way to the top, he’s cold and calculating. Diego can take a beating though, it will be interesting to see if Conor can finish him. If it goes the distance Diego won’t win on points.
Right here and now I would put money on McGregor but I ALWAYS want to see the fighters in the days and weeks before the bout so anything can change.
BTW - I’m putting my money on Gunni to win this weekend. If it were financially worth it I’d put money on Rory MacDonald as well but he’s something like a 5-1 favorite, barely a payout.
With diego it is interesting matchup. Diego wont be intimidated and he will fight to the bitter end even with head swollen like a potato (he managed to knockdown melendez in last round after taking two rounds of beating). With small gloves anything can happen, even though he is on decline for a long time now. Brawl the technician, technically fight the brawler. I would personally like to see conor in bloody 25 minutes war. But you are correct , chances will reveal themselves closer to the fight and if it goeas to distance conor will likely be a winner.
Edit; Fight has not been officially confirmed yet.
Round one in the mind war I think.
I was skeptical of McGregor before the fight, but he really impressed me. He does have a lot of intelligent things to say with regards to the majority of high level fights just maintaining and training hard, rather than actually improving their skill and movement patters.
Hey,
i know this isn’t relavent to this blog post, but I didn’t want to post it on an ancient post.
Please let me know. Do you use your real name online? si Victor Pride your actual (cool as fuck) real name or a name that you chose to present yourself and your rpide for privacy concerns etc?
This post has actually made me want to check out MMA. I’ve never looked into it before so thanks
Privacy. Not everyone on earth deserves to know everything about you unless you want the fame.
Vic
Love the blog. Silly bet though. With odds like that, you would have to be able to win 80% of the time to come out ahead. If you win 7x and lose just 3x, you are a net loser. Do you have the skill to pick winners that consistently? Because if you do then there is no reason to bother with a blog. I like your work…I hate to say it but in this instance you sound like some amateur trader bragging about his winning trade while failing to mention he is actually losing money overall.
This was the easiest bet in the world to make. Best case I get new readership from MMA guys who don’t know B&D. Worst case I lose money. Big deal, I have tons of that and instead of trading that same money for advertising that doesn’t convert I’ll make a worthwhile story to attract my target audience. Trader? I’m not a trader you rookie, I’m a publisher. I do what it takes to make B&D succeed. That means stories to tell. Stories that attract like minds. I do what it takes to make my content great. Even, gasp, taking chances.
I know it is a bit off-topic, but I am surprised you and this community in general does not take a greater interest in trading.

It will probably be by far the hardest thing you have ever done in your life, but this book (vol 1 in a 3 vol series) will give you the tools to trade profitably.

I wanna see Conor kick Aldo’s ass for seeing things personally
Jose Aldo: It’s ‘disrespectful’ that Conor McGregor’s name keeps coming up
Mcgregor says is like it is At the end of the day business is just business.
I want to see Aldo vs Mendes 2. That’s a very interesting fight.
All us around here in hillsboro il knew Matt Hughes would be a world champion. He was an underdog in four of his first title defenses. The guy had won the title three times easily and they still made him underdog. Those around here that knew him made huge profits betting on him in the early years.
Where can I watch these MMA fights?
ufc.com to buy the pay per views, youtube for some ‘best of’ and some free fights, ufc fight pass to watch the entire library of fights.
http://mmanews.sescoops.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/conor-mcgregor-vs-dennis-siver.jpg
McGregor is looking like easy money yet again, even easier than the Poirier fight.
Are you betting on McGregor in this fight (obviously you probably are)?
But mainly, I’m curious to know your take on McGregor vs Aldo, if/when that fight happens.
As you said in one of your comments earlier, McGregor isn’t the best “fighter” in terms of skill, but his will is nearly unbreakable.
Aldo, on the other hand, has the will AND the skill. He may not talk as much or as well as Conor, but no one can deny his ruthless, authoritarian style reign over the featherweight division.
Is that a fight you’re comfortable betting on, and if you do, who would you choose?
Either way, that (potential) match up has me beyond intrigued.
And on a side note, who do you have picked on Jones vs Cormier?
Keep up the great blog!
Yeah, I’ll bet on McGregor over Siver. I’d bet on McGregor over Aldo as well because McGregor would be an underdog, Aldo has never faced anyone like him, McGregor is bigger, McGregor wants it more and Aldo is in his twilight. Aldo is great, I bet on him over Mendes, but all champions fall at some point and he has already beaten every other fighter of note in the division.
Jones vs DC I will take Jones. Jones is a ruthless killer. DC is great, I think he will be the toughest fight Jones has ever had and I think this will resemble the Jones Gustaffson fight in terms of controversy but I have to go with Jones. He wants it more. <-We’ll see more when the UFC embedded is released. Those episodes are the gamblers best friend because you get to hear the words the fighters say. I just bet on Werdum over Hunt because Werdum said “I am going to be the UFC champion” and Mark Hunt said “I’m going to fight for the title”. They’re all skilled at that level, but who can mentally handle it? That’s who wins.
It’s interesting that you would write an article about McGregor.
Watching interviews with him, watching him talk to the media and at press conferences, etc, he says a lot of things write about on this blog. He seems to be the personification of your philosophy.
Here’s an interview with him as a young kid before he turned pro: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3VHkNxmbvR8
He is determined to be in the UFC. He doesn’t “think” he will be in the UFC, he KNOWS he will be in the UFC.
I know from experience that MMA is one of the most volatile sports to gamble on as anything can happen in a sport of its nature. Not hating just do not believe that someone can turn MMA betting into a profitable side business
I use to bet under the glory days of pride fc.
I took 14 right out of 15. The last best was lost becouse I diden’t pay close attention.
I never bet after that again, exepct on my self.
I am a seasoned gambler and have made many large sums of money betting on a range of sports and financial markets. One thing l can say, is that MMA is the most volatile sport l have ever come across.
“Look at the eyes because the eyes don’t tell lies.”- bullshit.
