How to maximize your dollar spent

——-

Simpletons have been telling me for years that “there’s no money in blogging“.

Recently I published an article called How to Start a Blog That Makes Money Forever.

In the comments section of that article a simpleton wrote in and said:

“Guys, don’t listen to this stuff. There’s no money in blogging! Love the blog, Vic”.

Joke’s on him. In the month I published that article I made $35,804.47 from a blog.

What is a blog, anyway?

It’s just content.

Like a newspaper or a magazine. But it has 3 big advantages over printed media:

  1. Low overhead - it costs nothing to start a blog.
  2. Worldwide readership - People from USA, Germany, Singapore, India, UK and South Korea love Bold and Determined.
  3. No one reads printed media - Everyone has a computer, a laptop, a tablet or a smartphone.

Common sense and a pair of eyes would lead one to believe that digital media is the future of media.

Digital media? You know, that thing that “doesn’t make money” even though people from all over the world read it daily.

If you aren’t smart enough to realize the value of internet content then I’ll show you a little game to play.

Go outside and tell me how many people are reading newspapers or magazines vs how many people are browsing the web via smartphones or laptops.

If you can’t make money from your digital content here’s why….

A) Your content isn’t good or your presentation isn’t good.

B) You’re concentrating on things that don’t matter and you aren’t concentrating on things that matter. You aren’t going from A to B in a straight line, you are going from A back to A in a circle.

C) You’re a defeatist that thinks that even though billions of people read online content daily there is no money to be made.

What matters and what doesn’t matter?

What matters…

Great content, great presentation.

What doesn’t matter…

Everything else.

Here’s the secret recipe, nothing else required…

Look great

+

write great

+

be great

=

a staggering income

How I did it

I get asked the same circular questions all the time.

Questions like how did you network, how did you advertise, how did you mathematically grow such a large readership, what’s the easiest way for me to make money now?

Average Joey wants to do all this extra nonsense work and none of the work that matters.

Average Jack wants the easy way to riches but he’s doing unnecessary, time-wasting work that gets him all the way from A to A in a circle.

How many times do I have to say it?

The smallest habits make the biggest difference.

It just takes a little extra.

All I did, and read carefully, was look great, write great and be great.

How I started

When I started Bold and Determined my expenses were nothing. I paid $10 a month for hosting and that was it. I lived on less than $800 per month.

Years ago I sold everything I had. What didn’t sell I tossed into a dumpster.

I let go of any emotional attachment to my “stuff”.

That detachment allowed me to live on a tiny amount of money while I built Bold and Determined.

Doing that, getting rid of everything, freed my mind to concentrate on what was important…

Building Bold and Determined. Doing the work required to turn a hobby into a money printer.

During the first year and a half of Bold and Determined I had no bills, no debt, no house full of junk to worry about, no nagging wife or screaming kids, no nothing.

All I had was a single, intense focus on Bold and Determined - The Website for Winners.

Was it easy?

That’s a question for losers.

Was it worth it?

That’s a better question to ask.

Answer?

Now I have everything I want - so how could it possibly not be worth it?

What could possibly be better?

I lived like no one would, now you can bet I live like no one can.

So Minimalism is the answer?

I’m not a minimalist. What I am is a Maximalist.

I want maximum value for every dollar spent.

That doesn’t mean I don’t spend money. I spend thousands upon thousands every month but it’s all for a purpose.

I take that philosophy to business as well.

What businesses extract maximum value from minimum dollar?

Blogs, websites and e-commerce stores.

How I live now - Maximalism in practice

I am a maximalist.

I want MAXIMUM value from the money I spend.

I only own a few things, but what I do own is the best - best phone, best computer, best clothing, best underwear, best desk, best everything. No junk allowed.

All the important things I own can fit into a suitcase and a backpack. The rest I could just get rid of and buy again later.

I have all the money in the world that I need, but I also have one very important thing - discipline.

The discipline to not waste my money on things that don’t matter but also the discipline to spend as much money as necessary to accomplish my goal(s).

The amount of money spent is not the issue, the result of that money spent is the issue.

Last month I spent $12,705.88. You know what that 12 grand bought me? It bought me a lot more money, a lot more freedom and a lot more happiness.

It didn’t buy me much stuff. I invested that money in people, in business and in travel.

The income gap is the Maximalist’s best friend

I want to see an enormous gap between expenses and income. That’s what makes me smile - a big green column and small red column.

IncomeGap

I don’t like expenses but what I hate is a wasted expense. As long as my income is growing faster than my expenses then everything is going well.

My expenses are high, especially for a blog, so to make up for big expenses I MAXIMIZE my income.

That’s why I write a blog…

A blog has the biggest income to expense gap in the history of business.

Your base yearly expense could be as low as $40 when you run through BADNET.

What other business in the world can you run for such little expenses? Lemonade stands cost more to start than blogs.

A good blog is the best kept money making open-secret in the world. It costs nothing to start, the upside is limitless and there’s no barrier to entry.

From scarcity to abundance

I’ll be the first to admit that I used to have a scarcity mindset. I wouldn’t buy anything at all because I didn’t want to waste money.

That’s not the way to succeed. You have to spend money to succeed, you just have to spend it wisely.

You don’t need to spend so much money upfront, but as you grow, your expenses must grow to keep your income growing.

You gotta invest money into your business to keep it growing. You gotta make it rain money or that tree is going to wither.

You gotta make that shift from scarcity mindset to abundance mindset.

I made the switch. I attest under oath that I make a lot more money since making the switch.

I don’t worry about the expense of an item or investment, I worry about what the investment will bring me.

Amount of money spent is irrelevant. The return on that investment is what is relevant.

If the value doesn’t exceed the money spent, I don’t buy it.

If the value exceeds the money spend, I buy it.

Whether it’s two dollars or twenty grand, if it brings me value I invest in it.

If it doesn’t increase that pretty green line then I don’t buy it.

Simple as that.

Until next time.

Your man,

-Victor Pride

First one to comment here two question I want to ask you

1.Testerone replacement therapy work but Is there another testerone I could use like testerone booster or spartagen xt
2.if you make a articles about what you could do in life

  2. I think the same way about the stuff I buy. I don’t want a lot of stuff, but the stuff I do have is high quality.

I noticed the Spartan Entrepreneur site is back. Any sneak peeks on what to expect?

    • That’s the big secret to succeeding in life.

      Maximum value/quality for minimum price
      Maximum results for minimum efforts
Maximum return on investment with minimum risk

Find the most effective and efficient way to run all the aspects of your life and you’ll soar past everyone else.

  3. Another great article! Keep them coming.

  4. Whats your opinion of running a blog using blogger. I already have a blog theough blogspot, would you recommend sticking with it or using something else and if so which one you recommend?

    • Victor Pride says:

I’ve covered this 1,001 times. Own your own domain.

    • Noel,

Victor is right, owning your own domain looks A LOT more professional.

What if instead of https://boldanddeterminedarchive.com, Victor used something free that looked like this:

      http://www.boldanddetermined.blogspot.com

      Do you see the difference?

There’s more letters, periods, and time spent typing.

The free option is way too long and increases chances of typos.

It makes it difficult for readers to log into your website and they will look elsewhere for information.

      It also doesn’t look professional…

People can instantly tell that your website is ran through some free blog service and will not perceive you as an authority.

Having your own domain will run you about $8 a month, and it’s worth it’s weight in gold!

I strongly recommend you read Victor’s articles on blogging, they helped me get my blog up and running.

      Good luck.

      • I got a little confused..when u say having your own blog..I suppose you mean having a website..isn’t blog and websites a different thing?

        • A website can be any number of things. A blog (web log) is a type of website, or a section on a website. Usually it comes in two flavours: Personal journal, or articles made for people that need or want them.

Victor creates and promotes the latter.

One of the biggest commandments of business (ala millionaire fastlane) is control. You want to keep as much control over your business as possible, so sculptingsexyladies.blogspot.com doesn’t get taken down when someone gets offended, or when blogspot gets made an example of for piracy, or your country is suddenly blocked from the service.
Plus, it just looks good to have your own domain…
If you don’t, the moment someone smells that you’re starting to get popular, they’ll register your name and either steal your visitors or sell it back to you for ten grand.

  5. When you save money you buy freedom. Say you get a cheap place to live (rent 300$) and you eat steak andeggs (200$) and random expenses (100$). You only need 600$ to live. Cover these expenses with a part time job and you’ll have plenty of time to pursue your goals and be a maximalist!

  6. Victor have you met your goal of becoming filthy rich or are you Just financially independent?

    • Victor Pride says:

      My goal doesn’t end.

      • Great answer. By the way any reason you don’t use disqus?

        • Victor Pride says:

Any reason why I should use disqus..

          • Not a huge difference now that I see it auto populates my name and email but I think it’s an easier way for people to interact since most won’t have to login. But I get it, you want to store all your comments and not on an outside server. And there’s features like up and down voting which I think is cool because it goes right to the good comments. Worth a look.

          • Blech, stay away from disqus. An enormous pain in the ass. As long as people are subscribed to your blog on their personal computer, it already auto populates the users info. I abhor Disqus for the same reason I abhor multiple pages for online checkouts. The more you make people click, the less likely they are to follow through with a transaction or comment.

          • Victor Pride says:

I have no intentions of moving to disqus.

  7. Priceless post man! The moment i stepped on this blog,is the moment my inner spartan mindset finally totally woke up. I always had discipline, but not to such extend. Now,i have increased my discipline even more - and this has only brought up positives. I am more happy with myself,i have increased my muscle mass even more, and i tolerate less and less bullshit. Thing is though, the moment you start to change,is the moment (some) people will start to either admire you as a person,or hate you and say you are nuts.

    • one last thing - when you know you have discipline, you get happy with yourself. And this,is the most important thing in the whole world if you wanna become an accomplished.

To be like someone like vic,or any other succesful person, you need to be happy with yourself. You need to trust yourself like yourself is another person. Need an example ?
Many people tell me i “deadlift way to much ” or that “i will hurt my back doing 2 rep deadlifts,3 rep deadlifts etc.” However,i trust my gut,i trust myself that NOTHING will go wrong - and that what i am doing works - funny enough, that what i am doing actually does work, and i can deadlift more kgs in my gym than many people.
When people see you are accomplishing shit, they WILL try to bring you down, and if you do let them, you will end up in their position. Their word, like vic says, should be like they speak a foreign language .

      • Fuck yeah. I do love the deadlifts.

      • I went crazy on the lifting too, then i got injured.i think 6-8 reps is better to prevent injuries and you can stil go just as hard. 1 rep max pushes your muscles to the limits and unless you are in power lifting it’s probably a bad idea

        • i am into powerlifting - weightlifting. I noticed my muscles actually grew a lot bigger when doing powerlifting than bodybuilding. Tbh,i never was clearly into bodybuilding - i always got bored at some point and always just wanted to lift some heavy ass weight, instead of weights that would make me lift for 10-12 reps. Dont get me wrong,i still do that kind of training(i cant ALWAYS lift very heavy weight, thats a green light to get into the hospital),however, most of my gym work is circled around my 3 basic lifts. This actually gives me more motivation that bodybuilding, which i never really had a huge motivation to speak of.

        • As an amatuer muay thai fighter and boxer, I always lift heavy and stay in the 1-3 range. Not trying to move up in weight class. To each their own I suppose though.

  8. “A good blog is the best kept money making open-secret in the world”.

This is a great way to phrase the profitability and scaling potential of a blog. Hmm and I wonder how it is “kept”.

This was a very relevant post for me as I recently started a blog of my own. Thanks to your positive and motivational writing I am finding it continuously easier to believe in my work through every step of the process.

Keep up the great content, Victor. Your success is inspiring.

    • The secret is kept by doubt. “It’s just a bunch of words on a website. Words don’t make money.”
But there’s a formula… Which isn’t all that special. Create content your visitors want and benefit from, then sell things to them.
      In that order.

Some people will try to never sell… But that’s just annoying and cowardly, as it results in them either begging for donations, or hoping that clicks from distracting ads will get them rich.

Some people have the opposite problem and are only there to sell. If your ‘blog’ is nothing but affiliate links, no one will bother with you. You aren’t providing any value.

Of course, you’ll want to stand behind any product you promote 100%. Going ‘Phone cases are popular, and we all need them. So uhh, here’s an (affiliate) link to a site that sells a bunch!’ is bullshit.
Instead you want to go ‘Yeah, I got this specific case, because I’m sick of my phone breaking from a three inch drop. Here’s a video of me throwing my phone against the ground in it. I use this, I love this, here’s a chance to get your own.
Bonus points if you can make the deal more valuable to your visitors.

  9. Starting a business has always been considered more difficult than people realise. Now, there’s the digital world where it’s so simple to get something going that literally anyone can do it. People are still looking for reasons not to just jump in and get started.

Blogging is so cheap and simple it blows my mind that everyone isn’t doing it just for the sake of it. Literally one affiliate post about a product you honestly love is probably going to make the whole cost of the operation back. Then you’re just getting your opinion out there for everything else. Even if you’ve got no intention of making money online you should have a blog because it’s like a CV plus a personal advert on steroids: If you’re into something, you are immediately a published writer on the subject. If you have a bizarre niche interest, people will be able to find you easily.

Great post, because blogging is the future for a whole range of applications, and making money is obviously a bonus everyone wants.

  10. Hey Guys,

Long time reader here. So after months of non-stop work I finally launched my first website and my second entrepreneurial venture, it’s called SellRadar. I’m not asking anyone to sign up but if anyone could give me a brutally honest opinion I’d really appreciate it.

    Here’s a link

    http://www.sellradar.com

    • Too much text on hompage, too much scrolling required. Your added value is not clear. Too much color. Add simplicity.

    • 3 things you can easily fix but that must be fixed:

      1. Write a better 2 sentence description of your business. I was so confused after reading it, i didnt know what your business even does. All good though. Spend 15 minutes writing a clear kick-ass replacement.

      2. Have a unique offer to make someone sign up. Not just sign up. Make it like, for instance “sign up below to get a 4 page report on the 10 most profitable imported goods” or something. That one i wrote was crap. Have an offer to make them sign up that makes them itching to sign up and see how you can provide value.

      3. Less scrolling, more compact. But maybe have more text focusing on consumer benefits as you scroll down. Remember, text is not bad if people are reading it, they are interested and want to read more, IF it is about how u can help the reader.

    • My opinion from a design point of view. Some of your banners are pixelated. The “4 great reasons to sign up” banner was the best one. It’s very clean. The others should be fixed. Even the circles with with Global, Contact, and Reliability in them. Also the 1st three colored circles have flat sides on their top, left, bottom, and right. It’s almost like they have a an invisible square closing in on them. And from a readers point of view there is way to much scrolling that has to be done. I definitely agree with #3 in Chris’s points. I’ll try to tie this in with Chris’s #3, but I think they look so pixelated is because they are so large. Shrink them. They’ll help with making the site more compact, reduce scrolling, and your banners will look way better.

  11. Great post like always. Keep the good work :)

  12. Nice post

Everything can make money unless the skill/industry is truly obsolete.

Being a homeless man that is really good at asking for money will make money.
Being a homeless man that sucks at asking for money won’t make money.

The industries that do exceptionally well simply have a higher demand.

  13. Victor,

I do not understand how anyone could want anything other than the maximum out of life. Two years ago, my life changed drastically. I went through a divorce, and saw the life I had spent years building crumble before my eyes. In the aftermath, I was in debt up to my eyeballs, with a mortgage, car note, divorce debt, etc. I was having to manage a debt load with one income that used to take two. I was out of shape and overweight. It was the lowest time of my life. But it did not defeat me. I found your blog, and found my focus and drive again. I focused all of my effort and energy into reinventing the person I was for the better. I hit the gym and got back in shape (I’m in the best shape of my life, even better than when I was in college and high school), I focused intensely on my work, and within 6 months was promoted and almost doubled my income. I created a secondary income by renting out two spare rooms in my house, and turned a liability that used to cost me money into an asset that paid for itself (and paid all my housing expenses as well). In short, I trimmed the fat from my life. A few months ago, I reached a point where I realized I had reached the maximum limits that I can possibly achieve at my job, and that I had very little room to learn anymore or grow. My personal life, while good, is also not what I would like it to be, due to living in a very small town in an environment I’m not crazy about.
So what did I do? I turned in my notice. I leave my job at the end of this year, and I’m moving to a big city with a much better business culture, and many money making opportunities for someone ambitious and with an entrepreneurial mindset. As you have always said, if you create value you make money, and I have learned how to create value.
If I could share one thing with your readers, it would be that the only time you are defeated in life, is when you tell yourself you are defeated. There is always another way, another road to take. And if there are no roads, then blaze a damn trail.
Thanks for what you do and the message you share.

    • TheGreyWolf says:

Josh, I feel your pain, and I admire what you have done.

Your story is an inspiration to every one of us single dads who’ve been shit on, fucked over, used, and abused by the ex-wife and her new boyfriend; the court system.

The shit I went through is enough to make me consider being a divorce attorney for fathers only.

      May I ask two questions?

How old are you and how many kids do you have?

My divorce was 5 years ago with 4 children, I am 52, and I have not done as well as you!

Again, thank you for the inspiration.

  14. look great+ write great+ be great = making money
look great+dress great + social freedom = getting laid
They both have same thing in common.
    Putting effort to be great!!!

  15. The maximalist concept is spot on.

  16. Vic,
Your success with this blog inspires me every day.
The idea of look good + Good content is something I apply not only to my website, but to everything in life. I dress like a winner, I act like a winner, I am a winner.
It will just be a short amount of time until I am monetizing my website thanks to Vic

  17. Victor I used to be a bitch.

I was the guy who talked all the shit and let narcissism get the best of me.

After 3 years of working toward financial freedom via my own blog, I can see nothing but respect for the art that people create.

After 3 years of improving myself, honing my art, and refining my message, I have enormous respect for the empire you have created.

Is it perfect? Are you perfect? Will anything ever be perfect?

    No.

Let this be a message to all the people out there who want to pick someone apart because it makes them feel better.

You’re a little, squirrelly prick and no one likes you…

…I know. I speak from experience.

So quit bitching and get out there and create something HALF as good as Mr. Pride and you’ll realize that you’re not as “awesome” as you thought.

Thanks, Vic, for everything you’ve done for me and for all the tons of aspiring winners that have been united by the B&D brand.

You rock. Your art is beautiful. And your message is pure.

Thank you again. I really appreciate what you’ve done.

    • TheGreyWolf says:

“Let this be a message to all the people out there who want to pick someone apart because it makes them feel better.

You’re a little, squirrelly prick and no one likes you…

…I know. I speak from experience.”

      That was fuckin’ awesome!

  18. Victor Pride says:

You missed the countless times I have said that 18 year olds have no business starting a blog. You have nothing to offer anyone at 18. Get life experience first before you start a blog.

  19. Terminator says:

  20. Jake Wright says:

    Hey Vic,

You ever read the book “Rich Dad ~ Poor Dad. What the Rich Teach Their Kids That the Poor and the Middle Class Do Not!”

I just finished it today, I noticed so many similarities between you and the what the author had to write about. It’s like you wrote the book because your concepts and ideas are literally the same to the book.

I got so much info from this book, one of the most important is buy assets and avoid liabilities. The other thing I got from this book is knowledge is power. The last thing I got from this book is make money work for you and not you work for the money.

I just picked up another great book called “The 48 Laws of Power” and it’s awesome thus far.

I know what I need to do.

    • Victor Pride says:

Yeah, I read Rich Dad many years ago. Very good book. I did not like 48 Laws, I found it dry and academic.

  21. Victor, apart from Bold and determined,do you do any other business?

    • Victor Pride says:

Domaining and just a little gambling. Everything else revolves around B&D, everything in the works revolves around B&D.

      • Victor, what exactly do you do with domaining? I bought a bunch of expired domains earlier this year and tried to set them up with parking services. The results were dismal though. I listed some of the domains for sale and I sold one for $200 through Godaddy.

        • Victor Pride says:

Buy domains, hold them, sell them. There’s not much more to it than that. Good domains are bought privately, you won’t get a million dollar domain cheaply. You have to negotiate with the buyers privately or with their representatives (afternic, domainnamesales) or places like sedo will let you bid back and forth with the owner. I prefer the old fashioned route and just finding a domain I want, contacting the owner and getting a deal done. I hate dealing with most of the domain broker companies and I really don’t like escrow.com either (most domain sales will go through them).

It’s work. All the first domains I bought were garbage. Now my portfolio looks pretty good but it took about 3 years to build.

          • Nice. Have you had much success with selling domains for a profit after you bought them?

          • Victor Pride says:

I’m not particularly interested in selling them just like I wouldn’t buy gold today to try and sell it tomorrow. The best domains, the ones that are good today, are going to be even better when dot coms are even more scarce.

          • I’ve bought a few over the past year through GoDaddy. Personally I don’t like GD. Are there other alternatives to them you might recommend.

          • Victor Pride says:

            I use internet.bs solely. I hate GD.

          • Thanks for that tip..ill begin using them vs GD

  22. Vic, love the new project.

Let’s say we do have great content and we did put the work in, the question remains: where do my readers come from? I know a lot of people writing amazing stuff…that no one reads. What are your top three ways to get (the right) people to your site, when you’re ready?

  23. victor,

whats your opinion on making a decent income with a current job while working on starting on online business? i’m making enough to fund my project but i’m not selling/throwing away everything i have (which isnt much). my current job is in sales, so its very similar to having my own business. i use the motivation to be my own boss for good as fuel to do well with my current job.

    • Victor Pride says:

Yeah, no problem. You need money. Everyone needs money, so work a part time job while you build your real business.

  24. Victor….EPIC PIECE!
I’m going to link to this article for years coming!

I threw away 17 years of ‘STUFF’ when I was downsizing from a 4100 square foot house in Summerlin LV to a 425 studio apartment in LA-forced upon me when I was FALSELY CHARGED of Kidnapping and Domestic Violence (even though my ex had kidnapped my children and moved across the country preventing me from seeing my baby daughters for close to 18 months). Now after 3 long years-my daughters are back with me FULL TIME and all charges have been dropped and expunged from my record.

Material Possessions MEAN JACK SHIT. What matters is acceptance, love and removing your ego from everything. Everybody deserves a shot and everybody wants to be loved. Until somebody wrongs you, tolerate and accept humanity for any potential gifts they may bestow in guidance-wisdom or just the experience they provide in the short time they come into your life.

  25. Sam Fisher says:

Sweet crib Victor. What’s it called?

  26. Thomas Enstrom says:

You’re right about 18 year olds not having the experience to start a blog, so would real estate investing be profitable in Southeast Asia or should I stay in the States? And is flipping houses a good short-term strategy and buy & hold a good long-term strategy?

  27. Was it easy?
    That’s a question for losers.

A complete life philosophy, right here.

  28. “Be great”,

True, you need life experience before you’re able to add value to other peoples life. I like the way you’ve designed yours man. You’re a machine - some nice inspiration.

How does an ordinary day for you look like atm?

    Take care Vic,

      • Simplicity is awesome man,

Doing shit you care about is powerful, especially if you’re able to help others with it. I can imagine how that feels Vic

Becoming increasingly competent at worthwhile work is the most powerful motivator IMO

        Take care,

  29. $36K last month? Jesus, that’s awesome. Vic, mark my words, if you keep going at the rate you’re going, in 5 years time, B&D will be more than a blog or a website, it’ll be an empire.

So, just to clarify, you have 3 new Spartan Entrepreneur books you’ll be releasing?

  30. I’m glad to see expansion on YouTube! All the best.

  31. It’s not V.P.’s blog that needs to change it’s your mindset.

“I’m now on the Fastlane forum pursuing real business opportunities and providing real value.”
    - Yes but are you profiting from that? or are you just pretending and wasting time.

    Think.

  32. hey Vic,

do you need LLC just to flip domains?

  33. Hey Victor, how do you burn chest fat? how much do you have to eat?

    • Victor Pride says:

If you have titties there’s not a lot of food to eat that will help. Try to stop eating so much but the damage is done if you’re a male with breasts. Go see a doctor and see if they can cut those cans off.

  34. Victor I read somewhere that you got the name B&D from the song “mouth of war”

How did it come to be(established)?

Can you describe that moment when you were like AHA! that’s gonna be my domain name.

  35. Dressing for success is important. It improves ones mood and draws opportunity towards you. I never used to think it was a big deal but since putting an emphasis on it their have been positive results. If you don’t groom and you dress like a bum, you get bum results.

  36. Vic, since you already have a post on 18 things every 18 year old should know, you should consider making a post on things every 18 year old/young adult should do. Not necessarily anything specific or set in stone since the path of one’s life must be forged by the individual, but perhaps tips young men would benefit from knowing and social/real world experiences all men should seek to experience in their late teens/early 20s. Things that would strengthen them as men and help them develop a skin of resilience during times of adversity and the courage to stop giving a fuck, to start kicking ass, and become more authoritative and charismatic.
    Just a thought.
Anyways, fantastic article. I read it first thing this morning in class and it was just the swift kick in the ass I needed to make it through another day at the fucking circus.
Can’t wait for Spartan Entrepreneur. Best of luck and take care.

Here’s the short version: I don’t like the idea of guys under 25 using modafinil or steroids. You shouldn’t start a blog until you’ve lived life and have something of value to offer. Other rules? Break them.

  37. Great post yet again Vic.

With an LLC does anyone know the equivalent to that in Australia? As I’ve tried looking it up but I get nothing but legal jargon and I’m quite interested in the idea.

looking forward to your next post Vic, take it easy.

  38. >You gotta invest money into your business to keep it growing. You gotta make it rain money or that tree is going to wither.
    >You gotta make that shift from scarcity mindset to abundance mindset.
    >I made the switch. I attest under oath that I make a lot more money since making the switch.

I think this is the biggest difficulty i find Vic, I find it really hard to spend money on anything, out of fear of it being a waste.
I’ve been sitting on buying a straightforward video programming course (that would help me develop apps, but gives about a years access from the date of point) because, i guess spending money is a commitment to starting immediately.

Do you think its possible to move from a scarcity to abundance mindset by mental will alone, or is it more of a kind of ‘actually be abundant rather than trying to fake it’ thing?

    • also vic, the order of the comments has gone all confused

    • Victor Pride says:

“Do you think its possible to move from a scarcity to abundance mindset by mental will alone, or is it more of a kind of ‘actually be abundant rather than trying to fake it’ thing?”

It’s all mental. Everything is mental.

    • Set aside an hour a day each day for a month to program. If you can’t manage that, forget it, it’s not for you.
If you do manage it, you have a choice to make. Learn on your own, or buy into a course? If you decide to buy a course, make sure it’s because the course is worth it. A piece of paper means fuck all in this field.

  39. what are the stuff in your suitcase and backpack? the things you considered essentials?

  40. Hi Vic,

When it comes to nutrition, what is your opinion about the cheese.

Is it cheese ok, if your diet is low carbs, meaning some rice, almost no bread and absolutely no processed foods, like noodles, sugars…

    • cheese is fat and protein, so yeah.

    • Victor Pride says:

Cheese is ok, assuming you aren’t eating the processed sliced cheese. I personally eat blue cheese, feta cheese or goat cheese 2-3 times per day.

    • Ha, that’s great news, thank you guys :)

I am a cheese addict haha, tried to get off it several times (not really). Could give up all other food but cheese.

Never figured out, how come I never got fat, though I trained hardcore sports whole my life. Until I found out about ketogenic diet. So I guess, my body is in this stage most of the time, burning fat.

And no, no sliced cheese, it’s disgusting, feels like you eat plastic or something. I mean full fat cheese, blue cheese, cottage cheese, goat cheese, ementaler… I found out that cheeses are great sources of vitamins and proteins. Dam, just got hungry :)

      • Victor Pride says:

        Hey, I love cheese too.

        • Yeah, well, it always made me laugh when some fat bodies, bad posture and other out of shape ppl commented that I consume too much cheese, meat and milk. That I should eat some “healthy foods” instead. Usually these people are the same who constantly eat whatever they can get their hands on, get sick often and lack mental strength.

I am in my 30s, constantly maintain 10-14% body fat, with eating what I like, am strong, vital and except for some cold once in a year or two, haven’t been sick for 20 years and full of energy.

Since I live in China, I order 95% of my food online (import) since prices in shop for imported quality food is 50% more expensive, especially cheese. I hear comments from other foreigners on daily basis, why I so much money on the food, why I don’t join them for some “good noodles” (yeah right, noodles swimming in gutter oil).

My answer is always the same: “Body is the only thing I really own and I would rather spend all my money on quality food, instead of save money eating junk. Junk is for trash bin, not for human body.”

  41. Finding value in everything is the best way to save money, or make the most out of your money. I often find start ups offering their services for free to find great value

  42. Hi Vic,

    I got two questions.

    1. Are you the author of music from “A Morning in the Life of Victor Pride” - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ulINwWz4XSQ ? Sounds great!

    2. Is one of the podcast you have mentioned you’re wearing only high quality t-shirts. Before BAD store was introduced where did you got yours (plain ones) from? Did you purchase them directly in the US or they can be bought on-line somewhere?

    • Victor Pride says:

      1) No. That’s a piece of stock music I spent hours to find.
      2) UNIQLO. A Japanese brand that I buy at Central World in Bangkok for 190 baht each. No idea about availability in the US and have not seen the particular ones I wear for sale online.

  43. I have to say I really like this site Victor. Recently found out about it from GLL

I have tons of great articles written and some “pickup” style videos ready to roll. I’m wondering though, do you think it’s necessary to spend money on pics early on for a blog?

I have a few in mind that would give the articles that extra punch. Just not sure if it’s worth paying for someone to draw them up for me?

    • Victor Pride says:

No, it’s not necessary to spend money on pics. Just make sure to use good pics that are royalty free or that you have the rights to (like take pics yourself). Most of my pics now come right off of my iPhone.

      • Yeah, I kind of figured it wasn’t essential to have the pics up.

I know the content is good and the videos are good too. They’re not lame ass “samurai master” seduction videos. Just trying to show guys how easy it really is to meet women.

I know you recommend your own domain name, but is it necessary to upgrade wordpress for the 100$?

I admit I’m a bit lost on the web design part but…..that’s no excuse for me. I’ll figure it out.

  44. Vic, quick question for you.

Why do you not sell your ebooks on the kindle store through Amazon? Is it purely not having control over them and having to pay a large commision? Just seems to me you are missing a chance to increase your income significantly through people who do not know about B&D. I’d like to know your thinking there.

    • I was actually curious about this too, as I was considering kindle. It does seem like a good way to increase audience.

    • Victor Pride says:

“Is it purely not having control over them and having to pay a large commision?”

      Yes.

“Just seems to me you are missing a chance to increase your income significantly through people who do not know about B&D.”

In my eyes you should know about B&D before you buy the books. You should know about me and what I stand for before you buy the books. The books are an extension of B&D - they complete the experience.

When I release my next book titled ______________ you can bet it will be on amazon and in your local book store as well.

      • I would love to buy the book once it’s released to the public. I know you are big on privacy but I wouldn’t mind reading and it would actually be interesting to read about your past life and your thoughts on various of life events. I think it would sell well. You already seem to have massive following. I”m sure there are many readers who wouldn’t mind reading about your biography in depth.

  45. ITALIAN G says:

Vic - I’m curious. Maybe you have stated it. Do you have or do a daily journal that tracks your progress & you outline where you are going?

  46. Doubletap says:

  47. Good post

  48. Victor what are your goals when it comes to bodybuilding or fitness? You don’t write articles no more on the topic. Are you happy with the way that you look write now?

  49. The amount of money is actually all relative, but people get psychological blocks to different amount of money. Like Victor Pride said, the amount of money doesn’t really matter.

Maybe when they were children their parents would get angry when you spent “1000 fucking dollars!” and since then you have had this idea telling you that 1000 dollars is actually lots of money. No matter how much money you could make with one grand, you are hesitant to spend it.

One really needs to fix all their psychological blocks on money and personal finance to make more of it. Negative beliefs about millionaires, rich people or how to make money in general are psychological blocks as well.

  50. After starting to read B&D in august, my life has changed. Victor Pride has made me a man again and has inspired me to work on a business.

  51. Show us more pics of your pad!

  52. Vic, I just checked your Instagram http://instagram.com/p/t-WAdFvjVV/ . Man, most recent picture. Why are you so lean on face? Are you again trying to get in the best shape of your life?

  53. If I were to assume that Chris from GLL is/was the outgoing, witty, “party guy” type of person, is it a correct assumption also to assume that you were more of a serious, reserved, less brash/quiet type of killer and driller?

  54. Just motivated me to go hard on my site. thx bro.

  55. I hate to shower you with more compliments Vic but you are THE BEST blogger on the web son. I thought blogs were for hippies writing about tasting foreign food before B & D (most still are). People told me it’s impossible to start a clothing company too, but I done did it anyway. I’m building a brand and never looking back. Thanks V PRIDE! http://inebriatedapparel.com/

    • Victor Pride says:

That reminds of a fat slob hippie I saw in a restaurant in Vietnam stuffing her fat face with 3 dinners and taking notes. She was alone, of course.

  56. zeeshan raza says:

    I love your blog.

  57. Hey Victor do you still promote eating 1 to 2 times a day even if you want to get big and jacked?

  58. How important is a logo for a website? I keep hearing I need a logo. Is it even necessary?

    • Victor Pride says:

Yes, it’s important, everything is important. Every bit of style is important.

      • Thanks.

I’m actually happy that a guy I went to high school will do a couple pics for some articles I’ve written and a logo. He’s into graphic design and is charging a FRACTION of the price of others.

There;s only 3 unique pictures I want done for some of the articles I’ve already finished. The rest I’ve found on sites that allow you to use the images for free.

This site is amazing though. Wish I had found it before. Awesome articles!

      • Victor,

What site do you recommend for logo design and business card design?

        • Victor Pride says:

I don’t. Never had luck with any of those design sites.

          • I just started a marketing firm with my partner, still working on the site.

I do all sorts of print marketing materials (business cards included) and design.

Let me know if anyone needs those things, you too Vic. I’ve been reading these blog posts non-stop for the past 2 hours. Thank you for reminding me I’m a motherfucking conqueror.

          • Victor,

The business card from your video/instagram looks very good. Who designed that?

          • Victor Pride says:

            My designer.

  59. Hey, I asked about this a while ago, and while I don’t like beating a dead horse, I do have some last advice that would be nice to obtain. Originally, I had though that my testosterone levels were low, as I had all of the symptoms (low energy, low sex drive, hard to gain muscle or lose fat etc). I ended up getting tested a few times, and it seems as though my total test is ok (about 600 ng/dL), however, my free test is 1.2 ng/dL. For those that don’t know, males my age (18) have around 6-20 free t, while girls my age have around .3-1.9. So… some girls my age have more free t than I do! I plan on reprimanding this and going on testosterone while under supervision from a doctor. However, I refuse to be on injections for the rest of my life. Can I cycle this on/off for a total time of 6 months to a year and hope that it will “jump start” me and I can go off of it with normal levels? Can I do anything else to fix the issue without being on injections for an indefinite period of time?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can give input, it is very much appreciated.

    • Proviron increases free T.

    • TheGreyWolf says:

LowT, here is my untrained medical opinion based on what I’ve learned researching this topic in depth for myself.

“and it seems as though my total test is ok (about 600 ng/dL), however, my free test is 1.2 ng/dL. For those that don’t know, males my age (18)…”

Because you are young(18) your total T is normal.

      Your free testosterone is low.

My best guess is that you are at least 20% body fat, and your diet/exercise habits are low average to poor.

Free testosterone can be changed in just a matter of hours by diet and exercise. Because they can go up so quickly, they can also come down quickly. Some studies have shown that attitude and posture can also affect free testosterone levels quickly.

When I google ‘how to raise testosterone naturally’, I get 41,000,000 hits.

There are foods and exercises that will increase your free T naturally. But since these levels rise and fall quickly, we are talking about some lifestyle changes here.

On this site, type ‘testosterone’ into B&D’s search engine. Lots of great information and a great place to start.

Your body is not 100% developed yet.

If I were you, I wouldn’t put one single chemical into it unless you fully know the long term effects, good and bad. 18 is too early to start fucking around with your hormone levels, other than naturally.

Make a list of the top 5-6 testosterone boosting foods that you can eat every day.

Work testosterone boosting exercises into your daily exercise routine.

      Read Victor’s posts about testosterone.

Find your baseline, strengthen your physical foundation.

This is what I am doing at 52 and it is working for me.

      • Thanks for the reply. It crossed my mind that my lifestyle could be the cause a while ago, yet after changing it for a year I’m still at the same place. I hit my macros and eat a very healthy diet, and have been working out with a trainer for a year, starting at 5 days a week, but now 3 because my energy levels are low. After living a healthy lifestyle, my levels are still low (prior to my change, my total t was 292, I don’t know what my free t was). Currently, I am about 15% body fat and weigh 155 lbs at just shy of 5′ 10. I feel as though I have done everything I can do naturally, and even doctors are telling me that they treat older guys with 1.2, and since I’m so young it could really hinder my development. They have also confirmed that I have gynecomastia, although that may be a separate issue.

After a year of eating right and working out well. although my strength has gone up, I don’t really look any different. At this point, I am almost positive that I will need to start something, but I want to make sure it is a temporary cycle rather than some prolonged, or even lifetime, treatment.

        • TheGreyWolf says:

Well cowboy, you definitely have a problem.

          That’s the bad news.

The good news is that I can tell from your writing that you are not an idiot and are capable of cogent thought as well as able to identify problems and solutions. That may not sound like much, but it puts you ahead of 90% of your peers.

That being said, while it may not be your fault, it is YOUR responsibility ALONE to fix it.

          Use the internet for research.

          Blood tests are clues.

          Doctors are tools.

But never forget, it is YOUR FUCKING BODY!!

And long after the doctor has retired, you will still be living in YOUR body.

So educate yourself, and take full responsibility for finding the solution as well as implementing it.

I’d start with a blood test. Not one of those standard workups where the doctor checks 5 boxes on the sheet at the office.

I’m talking one of those comprehensive motherfuckers that take 3 weeks to get the results, cost $500, and generates a 15 page report that tells you shit you didn’t know about yourself.

I know they exist. I had one after my second pulmonary embolism with no identifiable reason.

          • Thanks for your advice GreyWolf. I am scheduled for an intensive blood test and once the results come back, will have to make a definitive plan and take a course of action; I’m tired of being subjugated to the ineptitude of my doctors.

            -T

        • Have you tried to do sprints sessions, like 3x week. it raises dht as fuck, which will give you more free test. A high carb low protein (just enough) is better to produce more dht too. Eat a lot of cholesterol, its the building block of test. if you tried that and stiil no results you can jump on trt. you can come off trt any time you want, its not for life, if you want to go back to your mediocre hormone levels you are free to do it. and a lot of people did steroids at young age and they are not dead. I’d inject 125-150 mg of test every week if I were you.

  60. Victor can you give me any names of offshore companies where I can get liability insurance for my e-business here in the states? I can’t find any info…thanks

  61. Thanks for the article Vic,

    You’re truly an inspiration.
I’ve constantly gone on and off internet marketing over the past year, trying methods, and giving up almost instantly.
I found your blog about a week ago, and i’ve basically lived on it.. Every spare moment, even when at work, I’m reading and learning.

You’ve inspired me to start my own blog and stick to it, going through BADNET.

So thank you and if you can, let me know what you think about my site?

  62. Hey Victor, you write about the importance of being tall, since to be true alpha male, one must literally stand taller than other males.

The thing is, I’m on the shorter side, and I feel like no matter how much I work out in the gym or work to become an alpha male, my height is limiting my potential to be a real alpha male. I’m not TOO short, but, I’m a tad bit shorter than average. Just a bit.

Do you think that I shouldn’t be too worried about this? Or do you recommend any ways to get taller? Like do you advocate wearing height-increasing insoles, or even more extreme measures like height-increasing surgery if it’s an option? I would love to be taller than I am right now, but I’m wondering whether or not being tall is really THAT important.

    • Victor Pride says:

“Hey Victor, you write about the importance of being tall, since to be true alpha male, one must literally stand taller than other males.”

If you make up things I say why don’t you just make up the answer as well.

      • I apologize for misquoting you. I was just reading your article “how to be attractive to women” and #1 on the list was: Be Tall - “Women want to look up to a man, literally and figuratively.”

I AM taller than the average woman by a couple inches, but I’m wondering if it matters just HOW MUCH taller I am than them, or if it doesn’t matter as long as I’m taller than them.

        • Victor Pride says:

Bud this isn’t cosmo for men and I’m not gonna give you tips, tricks and hacks to make yourself taller. What you need to do is make your confidence taller than the tallest skyscraper. Then it doesn’t matter. Then nothing matters.

  63. It still amazes me how many people don’t get it. With this stuff. To them it’s either overnight success or nothing. I just got my first check from my book and website since it’s launch. You know how much I made? $4.80. It’s barely anything but you start from somewhere. I don’t expect to see a substantial income for another year from my art, but I know it will come. It takes time to build an empire. Nice work on your’s Vic.

  64. There’s actually some loser out there devoting time and energy to running a blog discrediting Chris from Good Looking Loser (xxxxxx). Hes apparently of the theory the Chris, Vic and Mike of D&P are all secretly in cahoots to monopolize on the blogosphere so they can reap all the rewards for themselves.

    • Victor Pride says:

What a pathetic homo. Everyone who ever went to PUTHate dot com is a pathetic homo. They were the world’s biggest losers. Chris tried to go over there and talk to them like they are people, but they aren’t. They’re lowly dogs. I told Chris to ignore them.

This homo’s #2 grip is “Where is Chris?”. I have personally been to Chris’s house.

“Chris was recently in Vegas with Mike and the idea that these guys don’t discuss business is ridiculous.”

      Hahaha! What a moron.

  65. zeeshan raza says:

As you said 18 is not a right age for
    Blogging .
What would you best recommend to earn a decent online income at age of 18?

  66. Great post victor. Your ideas are refreshing in a world obsessed with materialism. Seems most people work 40+ hours a week to buy shit they don’t need only on order to impress other misguided people. I stopped hanging around with those people years ago. Competing in a world of posers is soul destroying. You see it on social media all the time ‘look what I’ve bought!!’ …….. Yer, but what have you done? What will be your legacy? I enjoy and make the most of the simple things in life and it turns out most of those things don’t even cost a penny. Your blog changed my life around and continuing to read your blog will take me from zero to hero. Keep up the good work my man.

  67. Victor how can I improve the total number of pull-ups ? I would like to do 27 perfect pull-ups like you someday. Currently, I can only do 15 max. Any tips?

  68. Hey Vic, great post.

A small question out of context: Do you still take Kratom regulary?

    Keep up the great work!

  69. Elliott Diaz says:

What subscriber plug-in do you use? It is just perfect.

  70. Craig de la Rey says:

    Good Day Victor,

    I agree totally.
For a person starting out is CREDIBILITY not a big issue?
For instance I can not have a blog telling people how to be a great rocket scientist if I am not one.
Id lose my credibility as soon as a person learns that and they will exit my page and never come back.

You yourself can tell people how to be successful because we can all clearly see you are successful therefore you have credibility

Correct me if im wrong but shouldnt it be one of the big things that matter?

    I Love B&D!

    Best Regards

  71. http://incident.zakon.kz/4660837-sidja-za-reshetkojj-kazakhstanskijj.html
The story narrates of a man in Kazakhstan who, while being locked in a jail, has organised a business outside the prison. The business is illegal, drugs, but still this is a good example that things can be successfully done even in very tough conditions, with one’s hands tied, and one’s body chained. It’s a pity a criminal is given as an example though.

    • The man’s business was discovered and more years were added to his current ‘tenure’. So, as advised by Victor, do whatever you seek to do in a legal manner.

  72. I am already running a side eCommerce business I just started. It will be my “Big goal” while going through the 30 days of discipline program, my plan is to ramp it up big time over the next month.

I signed up for your future ebook on that topic and look forward to reading it.

  73. R. Sreyas says:

    Hey Victor,

I found your blog a few weeks ago and after reading most of the popular articles, I just wanted to reach out to say that its one of the most inspiring websites I’ve been to.

I’m looking to start a blog and I’m on Bluehost. However, I saw that the BADnet hosting rates are cheaper and Bluehost service sucks (contrary to what some people say). Any way I can switch?

Also, would appreciate if you could tell me what I think of my blog idea. I want to create a website on making better choices. I have always wanted to be a writer but I didnt pursue the dream because I took the “standard route” and I was always scared, until now!!

    • Victor Pride says:

Yeah, you can switch. Follow the BADNET sign-up instructions and we’ll get you set up.

      • R. Sreyas says:

Like I mentioned above, I’d appreciate if you could let me know what you think of my blog idea: making a website targeting young people on how to make better choices. Should I keep it broad or make the target audience smaller?

  74. Yep. This is why I love coming to this site. Victor is a young man still and has it ALL. When you are feeling defeated or there is no way out, come to this site. Look what he did. He got disciplined, dropped the unimportant nonsense, FOCUSED laser like on what he wanted no matter who was scoffing. IT all means nothing, Scoffers mean less than used up toilet paper.Getting rid of the side distractions is huge or where you “should” be in life. I know I will be dead relatively soon even if that relatively soon is in 30 or 40 years. I did a LOT of things I did not want to do for a paycheck. Bored to tears, stressed, pissed, apathetic, you name it in pursuit of a buck. One has to be willing to die for the life you want or to literally drop the rest. If your buds are long married off with kids and all and you are not and you WANT the TRUE life, then go for it!

The Net is the best thing there is. Look at the insane amount of money Victor is making and EVERY DAY is good for him- not just the weekends. GOD wants people to love every single day and not just a Friday or Saturday Night haze..Victor once said a person can even make 70 or 80 k on the net and live a darn good life. Exactly. That means no more commuting and less taxes given over to the gov’t, less stress and owning your own life!

He put the time in studied what he wanted, did NOT do frivolous things like others do or stare at ballgames all day for escapism. He worked on his site day in and day out and took chances going to foreign lands while many fear leaving their own neighborhood. Not to say one MUST leave their native country but it is to make a point. But he is thinking worldly and converting American dollars to whatever the current country would be.

I look at what experts do and how they got there. I do think successful people enjoy others getting success as well. I don’t disrespect successful people in an industry. I try to learn from them. Blogging IS a money maker and learning the business inside out. Drop learning the statistics of various football and baseball players and learn the stats of making money on the net! I have never felt better in years since going for MY goals in a REAL way! Great post!

  75. I always enjoy any shots you show of the area you live or just the whole general South East Asian vibe. I am wondering how the food and culture in those nations compare to each other and to the USA’s Asian communities? It seems you like Thailand the best of those nations next to each other over there. It would be cool if you could do an article one day showing general lifestyle, food and culture from those places one day comparing it to the USA. I remember one time you said it’s safer there compared to many US cities.. No shock!

  76. Thanks for the inspiration, Victor. I’m on the same path you started on, and one day I’ll be on your level too.

  77. Hey Vic, is Thailand still a decent place to live? I see that you moved (out of Bangkok I assume), but you’re still in Thailand or no?
I was planning on moving there in a few years but if it’s not the best place to live anymore I’ll reconsider.

  78. lots of why, a bit light on how…

  79. Great site, great article. Your mentality is spot on, its similar to Napoleon Hill’s principle about burning the bridges.

  80. Victor,

This is interesting take on maximalism (I heard this word for first time though).
Great post as well, enjoyed it mate !

I am praying for the day that one, just one, internet big shot comes up to my face to tell me what they don’t like. I’d give almost anything for that.

  82. Terminator says:

So Curious what you would do

  83. Well, MJ Demarco once told you he likes your site and thanked you to talk about his book.

  84. ITALIAN G says:

LOL….. It will NEVER HAPPEN! It’s the same phenomenon you get when you cold call for new sales. People LOVE to talk tough on the phone, but when you get face to face… They turn very nice and show respect. Same with the internet. They want to judge you because they fear their own short comings. Hell, I’m happy for your success. I think it’s great. What do they do that is so positive? Watch sitcoms and dream about success…. Or…. “One-day I will show them”!

  85. Victor Pride says:

You may as well ask me what I would do if I found a million dollars on the street. It’s extremely unlikely and I will consider myself blessed if it ever happens. Not the money, the other thing.

  86. Ho, what “they DON’T like” my bad…
