I know this has nothing to do with the topic of this cast but you mentioned you used to do real estate investing before you started B&D. How was that? Was it more trouble than it was worth or did you find building the site more fulfilling?
Sup Victor,
You’re starting to sound like the legends in all those books you recommend.
Any advice on finding a good drop shipping and fulfillment center? You’ve got one for t-shirts - understandably secret. I’ve been trying to find one for photography, but all these guys offer pretty shitty commissions. They get 90% just to print and ship? While I had to hike out and brave snowstorms to fire the shutter? No thanks. So far all I’ve come up with is operating my own printing out of my own garage - but as you know that’s more work.
Thank you!
It’s something I’ve had trouble with too. Victor, what sort of overhead does your dropship/fulfillment place charge you for it? Knowing what a good % looks like will be loads of help for those of us whacking our way through the ecommerce jungle.
Though short, this was a really useful post. Thanks!
nice intro :D
I’ve been interested in creating a T-shirt business too once I start gaining traffic for my site but just like you I didn’t want to do it physically and wanted it all automated. Once I figured out about drop shipping it changed everything. Also another “good drop shipping/fulfilled by order” type product to look into if you or the other Victornots like myself are interested in are physical books (although eBooks are more preferred). https://www.lulu.com is where you’re able to do the exact same thing that you talk about in the podcast but instead of shirts it makes books. You can self publish your own physical book and have the entire process automated.
Still corny though. Seems like some weird soundtrack from a movie trailer.
Really? I tried to make it as serious as possible. Moron.
I apologise for my lack of something constructive in my criticism. I will try another way; I honestly don’t think you even need an intro. If you look at other podcast which are successful, I.E Danger and Play and Christian MCqueen’s podcast there really is not a lot of focus on the intro music/sounds etc. Usually “Hey, it’s Mike from dangerandplay.com” is enough. Your perfectionism might fuck with your podcasts a bit because the introduction makes you come off as a try hard, in my opinion at least. You obviously are not a musician/or a good one, your talent is somewhere else and that has obviously worked out GREAT for you. I can not give you constructive criticism on your content, that is some ass-kicking, motivating shit! It has DEFINETLY improved my life, but when your content is already awesome, your presentation is awesome (As in your voice don’t tremble, you speak clearly, loudly and professionally), then you don’t need to sprinkle some amateur tier cheesy intro music on top.
Have a nice day.
I’m a little shocked that I have to explain that the new intro was a joke. That’s why I called you a moron.
the gorilla spartan t is really cool
Damn Victor you just gave me a golden nugget, I’m about to start doing research on drop shippping and fulfillment!
Love your grey spartan tee. Bought a medium a few months ago and just bought a large. Going on two years with BOA.
I Started an ecomm store November 2014. Made a goal to make to make $50 a day by end of year - I was making $100 a day. For 2015 I want to make $300 a day by June - I’m already making $250 a day.
My “friends” mocked me when I started reading your work, and books like How to Get Rich by Felix Dennis. I ignored.
Now they see my work, my vision come to fruition. And they say “Wow, your dreams are coming true.” To them I respond “No, I’m making my dreams reality.”
Had it not been for your words Vic, I would still be smoking weed and drinking beers with a bunch of sexless losers.
Thank You
Danny, what method of attracting customers worked best for you? Or did you already have a built in audience somewhere? Thanks!
I started with little money, free advertising was the only way - forums, reddit, etc. I also gave my customers incentives to sign up for my newsletter, incentives for sharing on facebook/twitter, and incentives for reffering their friends.
If you have stellar products, and go above and beyond for your customers - your customers will work for you. Word goes around quick.
Once I started making money, I used adwords and facebook ads - that’s when real traffic comes in.
Learn your product, know your customers, and get into their heads. From there attracting them is easy.
Danny,
Thanks for the reply. Great advice. I’ve used Facebook ads before for something else and it really worked well, I’ll give it a shot here too.
Point us to your store, Danny! Always great to see success in action, and to buy stuff to give it props!
When I get to the top of the mountain, I’ll gladly share it.
Nice intro Vic, way less corny.
huh? is the intro supposed to be not corny? because to me it seemed even more corny, like a cheap b serie movie, I don’t really understand why you would do that and claim to be a serious individual, you seem a little delusional to me. I also take everything literally and don’t get the concept of ”humor” I know a lot of people are fond of this but I don’t get it. Have a nice day.
