Monday morning, friends.

The best day of the week. If I could make everyday Monday I would.

Hell, I spent my weekend shooting an AK-47 at coconuts and throwing grenades into the lake in Cambodia and I’m still ready as hell for Monday.

I like to play around on the weekend like everybody else, but Monday is always business as usual here at the Thunderdome.

A couple little tricks to not hating Monday include:

  1. Not having a job.
  2. Kicking ass on the weekend instead of “lounging” or “chilling”.

Ask Bob in accounting what he did over the weekend.

“Hey Bob, how was the weekend?”

“Oh, hey Tony. Yeah, it was pretty good I guess. The wife and I got caught up on our netflix rentals, then we went to the home improvement store and she spent all my money haha. The weekend sure does go by quick, don’t it!”

I haven’t actually had a conversation like that in years and, uh, personally I’d prefer to die than go back to living the 9-5 office life.

But I don’t have to choose death, see I’m so doggone smart I’ve figured out the secret. Do you want to hear it? Work for yourself instead of working for other people.

Now I’ve exposed the secret to freedom. Stop making someone else rich and do it for yourself.

But! Don’t just do anything. Do the smart thing. I had a conversation with a hotel owner here in Cambodia. We got to talking about profit. The guy makes $1,000-$1,200 per month. I tried to keep a poker face, “uh huh, I see” but I was a little shocked at how measly his investment was paying off. He had put in about $60,000 to remodel the place and now he’s living on peanuts. I didn’t have the heart to tell him that Bold and Determined was less than a $30 investment for me and currently gives me over $6,000 per month in return. And I don’t have to sit in a damn hotel all day, worrying about occupancy rates, worrying about my Cambo employee’s embezzling, worrying about the damn second coming of Pol Pot dragging me down to S-21, worrying about this and that and every little thing.

So much stress for so little reward and I want no part of it.

I’m too modern and enlightened for that. I want minimum risk for maximum reward.

What I want is freedom, and I’ll buy it with money. Sitting in an office all day making your corporate shareholders rich isn’t freedom, being tied to a location isn’t freedom, but making money wherever you go and whatever you do, well, that’s freedom in my humble opinion.

Once you figure out how to get dollars into your bank account without asking your boss for a raise you have a very special piece of knowledge. The knowledge that if you did it once you can do it again and again and again and again and again.

I’ve done it twice in my life in two polar opposite fields. If the heavens start to rain on me and for some reason Bold and Determined let’s me down, hell, I’ll just do it again and again and again and again and again.

It starts over again every single Monday. There’s always another chance to make it right.

  1. Hi Victor,

Amazing post, really appreciating your determination to never use your time and energy to further someone else’s cause other than your own. I share this determination and am starting to change everything in my life to live a life true to myself and accountable to no one. Keep living the dream!

    • I am trying the same! I am just starting and the road is hard right now. I am living on peanuts like the hotel owner. But it is also quite exiting too.

I believe it will pay off. I am not afraid of living in poverty for a moment to live in glory later.

Monday is the Entrepreneur’s Friday. The week is the Entrepreneur’s weekend. Because us Entrepreneurs are in the business of making shit happen.

Keep killing it Victor, your blog is a bible for me.

  3. Vic,

How long have you been in Indochina? I left the country for two months last year (like you I am self employed and didn’t have to get permission from a master) and lived by the sea in Lebanon. It was a good experience, but I just love the good ole US of A too much. No place is better. Do you enjoy travelling that much?

    • Victor Pride says:

      Chris,

My base is in Bangkok and I just travel here and there about once per month. I’m not a permanent traveler, I like routine and I work best from my home office. I don’t enjoy TRAVELLING at all, but I enjoy new places and experiences and I always return with a renewed energy and focus. I’ve been out of the States for two years, I miss a few things here and there but zero plans to move back permanently.

  4. Been working on my project since 6am this beautiful Monday, well doesn’t really feel like a Monday because I was working all weekend. When I had a job I could barely stumble out of bed and go to work.
    Good job,
    -redx1

  5. Good job! I been using G.V.I.M. (GET VIGOROUS ITS MONDAY) for a while now 100% solid and similar attitude towards the issue. http://www.livingthevigorousway.com/2012/02/gvim.html

  6. Great article once again. I hope to reach your level one day. It s hard to make that much money with so little invested. besides blogging what else can I do online that makes that much money with little investment? Any suggestions? I really want to get put of the rat race for good.

  7. Hey Vic,

you make the mentioned 6k only with affiliate marketing and selling your e-books, or are there other sources contributing to this as well?

  8. Hi Victor,

Your posts are like storms thunderraging through my neighborhood. I can’t help but getting carried away by it. I’m manage everyday to take control over my ADHD just a little bit more. Heavy Moodswings included. One question: You have recommend books, readable sources specifically for building a reckless attitude? I think I should look up a bestofPunisher Comic List and read the most brutal straightshooter stories. Time to Punish.

  9. Abgrund says:

I like Mondays, and I work for The Man and have no intention of ever doing otherwise. On Monday I am usually running on four hours of sleep, four cups of coffee, and a weekend’s worth of ideas that I haven’t been able to implement yet.

If you don’t like Monday, you hate your life. If you’re holding a job, that job is occupying most of your life. You become your job and if you hate your job, you’ll soon hate yourself too. The most miserable people I’ve ever known were union fucks who got paid five times their worth and whose only goal in life was to become even more worthless by doing as little as possible lest they be “exploited”.

Those guys really hated Mondays, but they hated all the other days too.

  10. Awesome man. So awesome. Sounds like your really living the dream. Getting paid while on holidays. You would have to be a complete idiot to sign up to a 9-5 after reading this! What other salary based jobs allow you to travel with SO MUCH flexibility and get paid at the same time?

good work man, extremely proud and impressed

  11. Victor,

Are you still using this strategy personally? What about those who bought it last year? Are you still using it?

At $10, I’ll buy it regardless. I’m just curious if people used it short-term to earn a few bucks or as a longer-term strategy.

    • Victor Pride says:

It’s the same as last year, no I don’t use it. I posted my exact money making strategy in the “So You Want to Be a Professional Blogger” series.

  12. Vic,

Wish I could say T.G.IM.!! Spent thw wknd@ the hospital, and was diagnosed with thrombosis on my right leg (hurts like a fucking bitch!) . I Took Tamadol, but that no longer helps. Tried the muscle balm…..with minimal effectI mite give Warafin a go.
What do you make of Vicodin?Iread its kinda har on u. Have you had any experience with it?

Cheers, I’m in Phnom Penh btw

    • Victor Pride says:

Hey bud, I’ve never used Vicodin so I can’t say. And Cambo is way better than I thought it would be, the international food here is the best I’ve had in SE Asia. I’m very surprised with how pleasant Cambodia is.

  13. ps. Cambodia rocks n’rolls man……..

  14. Another great post Victor! I’m a first time poster but I’ve been following Bold and Determined since December, and it’s an excellent resource to find motivation in a world where men are told to be subservient and feminine, and to do everything by the book (go to college, get a dead end job, etc.)

I started by own business last August and have been working my ass off, sometimes going weeks without taking a day off, but there’s nothing better than being in control of your own destiny, and building up something that will provide sustainable income from the ground on up. I’m still living off peanuts, but my business grows more each and every month, and being broke has helped me become more fiscally responsible. In addition, I have been able to become lean and mean from working out (gym membership is one of the only things I’ll pay for) and not wasting all my time and money drinking and partying. The only downside is that now I have absolutely no friends that I can relate to, as most modern men are extremely emasculated and scared to follow through with whatever plans they had. My closest friends would rather work a shit job for $8.50 an hour for beer money rather than take a risk and become entrepreneurs themselves, and it’s a real downer. I don’t let that discourage me though, as the world needs plenty of ditch diggers too!

Keep the posts coming, they help motivate and push the men of this age to greatness!

    • Victor Pride says:

Rick, make new friends who have the same fire as you. Find friends that motivate you and you will be able to achieve more than by being alone.

  15. Adamzis says:

Victor, would a ketogenic diet increase insulin sensitivity over time? And what are others ways to increase insulin sensitivity.

  16. Hey Vic I started doing hammer curls at the end of the day and my forearms look powerful and well-chiseled even though I have the same “arms need special attention” issue. That article was very helpful and all the girlies and fatasses notice the work ethic I’ve made for myself. Most importantly, I’ve noticed and can’t wait until there is more to learn.
    Your friend,
    Sam

  17. Victor, how does Your “diet” look like now if I may ask. Is there any change or it’s still two meals/day, mostly beef and eggs?

    • Victor Pride says:

Right now, at this moment, 3 meals per day and some snacks, but I’m still on holiday. Right now I’m at breakfast, ordered 2 pancakes, 2 eggs, 2 bacon. When training hard to get lean now I eat fish, chicken and rice.

      • u said in both of your books 30 days of discipline and body of spartan that snacking is for fattys. U said snacking makes u fat. U said under the boldanddetermine.com about tab that u eat like a spartan only 1 or 2 meals a day so I m confused because I m trying to emulate your lifestyle which I love what you said about keeping things simple however eating 3 meals and 2 snacks a day sounds like something u find on bodybuilding.com. U mentioned before that all supplements are garbage but in another article u mention that u had a bottle of dynamatize protein bottle that some friend left for u. Can u please clarify because I want to follow your approach. Ty…

        • Ralph, you gotta realize that there are many different approaches you can take to get the same end result. Find what works for you. If splitting your macro-nutrient needs into 3 meals and 2 snacks works for you, then do it. If you work a 9-5 and the only time you can get a proper meal is after work, then 1-2 meals may work better for you.

By nature, you and Victor lead totally differently lives so it would be silly to attempt to emulate an individuals lifestyle 100%. Use what works for you.

And I see where you’re getting at about Victor seemingly contradicting himself, however different solutions work for different situations. The “Iron Guru” Vince Gironda did the same thing. He preached his whole life about how carbs will make you fat, then he writes an article proclaiming carbs as a “bodybuilder’s best friend” and how he believes bodybuilders eat too few carbs.

Take home message: Integrate the knowledge you learn from Victor/other resources into your own life. Find what works. Keep what works, ditch what doesn’t.

        • Victor Pride says:

Phases! Get lean like me and you can eat whatever the fuck you want to eat when you want to eat it BUT! you will get too fat at some point and then you go and cut out the snacks and lean up. You don’t eat snacks every damn day, you do it phases. You can stay lean all year round on 1-2 meals per day, or you can do as I do now and enjoy life a few times per year. Yes, someone did give me a jug of protein approx. 8 months ago. No, I don’t use it. Know why? Because it’s worthless like I said 75 times.

  18. lance castro says:

    hi vic,

the 6k you earned monthly where do u put? do you invest it?

  19. Hey vic!

I was wondering, is there any form of tax involved with your online buisiness?

    • Victor Pride says:

Yes, of course. If you’re American you pay self-employment tax until you open up a business structure, like an LLC, and then you pay the appropriate tax according to your entity, state of residence etc. I take advantage of the foreign earned income exclusion.

  20. Victor. I have quit my dull job in office, and I have moved to Greece to concentrate only on my online bussiness. Iam totally dominant in my niche with my page in slovak language, however it is small market and I want to make more money. Iam thinking about starting page in english to get more traffic. Iam interested in how many people visit your page daily for you to make 6000 /month from the traffic. How many articles would I have to write to get at least to 2000 USD per month. I know it is difficult question because there are articles and ,, articles,,. but what is your opinion ? Is it doable in 1-2 months ? I have no problem with obssesive work :)

    • here random asshole here but try Victors ebook coming on monday and plus maybe do the same site in another language

    • Victor Pride says:

2 grand per month possible in 2 months? Yes, if you know what you are doing and have a plan. I don’t have to write any articles to make 2 grand per month BUT!! I have 2.5 years of archives and a large readership with more coming in every day. Good luck.

  21. Victor do u think that u can mantain that body of yours all year by eating 1 or 2 meals per day and that s it? No snacks or supplements. U look like u have some great size that s why I m asking. I was wondering because I read that the less meals u eat the more your metabolism slows down and your muscles catabolize. I would like to reach your physical transformation by just eating 1 meal a day but I don t want to disappear to skin and bones lol.

  22. Victor in your body of a spartan ebook u mentioned that u can workout the stame muscles several days in a row and it doesn t constitute overtraining. It Arnold s encyclopedia of bodybuilding he mentions giving muscles at least 48 hours to rest so where did u come up with that theory because boy have I been brain washed. Also what exercises do u do for abs? Ty…

    • Victor Pride says:

If you follow a BODYBUILDING routine you need to give each muscle group a rest period but if you aren’t a bodybuilder it is utterly pointless to follow a bodybuilding bodypart split routine. I don’t personally do any ab exercises because I get nasty cramps in my abs when I do.

  23. Victor I just wanted to clear up the whole overtraining concept about never working out the same muscle 2 days in a row because I felt jerked by the misinformation in these magazines especially after buying your ebook. Do u workout out the same muscles several days in a row? Thanks…

  24. adamzis says:

Victor I noticed that your image links now fade when you hover over them. What’s the name of the plugin?

And I’m curious to know why you switched the hostgator/genesis theme affiliate link to modafinil. More conversions and higher commission I’m guessing?

Speaking of modafinil (I know I’m asking a shit load of questions) I tried it once but I had some mild itching similar to an allergic reaction that I got from two different families of antibiotics when I was a week into them. The modafinil itching happened within an hour of taking it and lasted all day long. Have you experienced this? (it wasn’t’ crazy itching but it was annoying and occurred every few minutes at different areas of the body).

  25. Victor what do u think about the stock market and investing in bonds for passive income?

    • Learn to daytrade futures like I did and make ACTIVE income and not have to work again once you learn the craft and get really good. Depending on how much time you are willing to put in, this can be achieved in 1-2 years. My relentless pursuit to learn futures and options trading has been finally paying off. Up over $5k from June 3, which was Monday, and now it is Friday. My “work” is normally done by 10 AM day trading the e-mini s&p 500. Here is the secret to becoming a financial success that most people will not tell you…. ready? HARD WORK and NO EXCUSES
This is for everyone reading this… you must attain the following mantra and live it “Succeed or die trying.” No buts, and’s, or maybie’s

  26. Raymond says:

You getting better by the day brother! really enjoy your writings!

  27. Vic,

I couldn’t find a page to leave a review of your Spartan Entrepreneur eBook, so I decided to do so through this post.

ORIGINALITY [8/10]: Vic’s book is original enough for my taste. The method he uses is well known, but his twist on the specific method is one that is unique and original enough for a rating of eight out of ten.

LAYOUT [7/10]: Although there are pictures here and there, more could be added to help the reader better understand some things. He does link to videos in his eBook which helps me to rate his layout a seven out of ten.

CONTENT [9/10]: Everything one would possibly need to start doing this method is included in one way or another in the eBook. Links, descriptions, etc… Vic clearly put a lot of time into this and his desire to keep his readers out of the dark shows quite well.

    So, does it work?

    Only time will tell.

Personally, I can vouch for Vic’s Spartan Entrepreneur and say that one can reasonably expect to see $100/day using his method if the right amount of work is put in.

A get rich quick scheme? No.

A start to passive income? Definitely.

    Highly recommended +++

    Regards,

    VP

DISCLAIMER: I am in no way affiliated with BoldandDetermined or Victor Pride in any way. I genuinely enjoy reading his works and find them good enough to write about.

  28. Good job with the spartan entrepreneur. Now I have all 3 of your ebooks and let me tell you great job. Are u going to write any more ebooks in the future?

  29. I stopped liking weekends and holidays after about age 21 or 22 because when you absolutely need something to get done, you cant. Your whole day of business abridged over some b/s. II was born on a Monday, maybe that helps. Either way, I’ve associated Mondays with vibrant, active life and accomplishing tasks. If there’s a time of the week I HATE, its Sundays and Wednesdays….those two days are the biggest teases of all.

  30. Sohan Siri says:

    Hey Vic,

Great post. Question: Have you ever employed anyone yourself? I’d love to go into business, but I’d hate the thought of having to be responsible for some whiny employee, who expects me to look after him/her or give him/her packaged ‘benefits’.

They often joke that businesses are like an adult daycare centre, which is supposed to be funny but I would loathe having to support a bunch of grown up babies. I’m wondering, aside from blogging, what types of businesses can either be completely automated or employ one or two people MAX. I’d considered blogging, but it’s a saturated industry and I’m not exceptional. Perhaps after succeeding in the flesh-and-blood world first.

Truth is, if there is an increasing readership of your blog, it’ll be hard to employ anyone (unless they’re women - or maybe that’s another headache - sexual harassment law and all). I reckon a lot of us will be self-employed men heading for automated-income retirement.

Only people I’d wanna be feeding are my future kids, but not for long. I’d force them to read this blog as soon as they can talk.

    Cheers, Ken.

  31. I’m always looking forward to Mondays, on the weekends I have to spent time with my girlfriend doing absolutely nothing and I’m always happy to leave her and come back home to work. I like her and everything but there’s only so long I can be away from my projects.
