Today is my 33rd birthday.
In my 33 years on earth I have created the greatest blog in existence, I'm the best blog artist who ever lived, and I'm in the top 1% of net worth.
I know what it takes to be great and I'm going to tell you. But first…
Some of you won't be able to make it to the end of the article before you want to leave a comment and tell me what a bad guy I am.
But you'll be telling me from your shitty jobs and I'll be at home in my pajamas, counting my money and getting my feet massaged.
So all you little office slobs in your little office jobs can tell me what a virtue humility is, but your words will fall on deaf ears.
Preaching humility when you're broke, is what Jealous Johnnies do.
Preaching humility to your betters is the same thing as crying crybaby tears.
We know you're jealous, we can smell it a mile away, we can taste those tears and they're sweeter than honey.
But those honey tears aren't as good as money, nerd, so listen up, shut up, close your mouth, open your eyes, open your ears and learn from the man….
WHAT IT TAKES TO BE GREAT.
1) Obsession is key to success
Someone asked me if modafinil gave me an edge over my competition.
I said a) I don't have any competition. Artists don't compete with anyone and nobody on earth can write like me and b) Yes. Modafinil helps you focus on obsession, obsession gives you an edge over the competition.
You don't become the best without being obsessed!
Obsession is what separates the best from the rest.
The best are obsessed with their craft. If you ain't obsessed you ain't the best.
2) Strive to be the best
To be the best you have to have a crazy, obsessive need to be the best. You don't accidentally become the best.
You don't become the best because of bullshit like “genetics“.
You become the best because you stay awake all night in bed fucking dreaming and plotting about being the best.
Sleep is for normal people, the best don't sleep, they're wide awake in bed making plans for the future.
When normals stay awake, they stay in bed lamenting about the past. “I should have done this, I should have done that, I miss Becky so much boo-hoo“.
The best stay awake planning the future.
If you can dream it you can achieve it and if you don't believe that then you ain't the best at anything.
3) The best do more than the rest
You have to be a work-horse to be the best. You have to work.
Work, work, work, work, work, work, and work some more. Get used to working!
The funny thing is that working isn't even hard, but morons would rather waste time at some job, then play video games or drink beer.
You know how many off-days I've had in the past five years? Zero.
I've never taken an off day since starting the greatest website on the face of the earth.
I have made more money that most people make in their entire lives…. multiple times over.
If you want more success than everyone else then all you ever have to do is more than anyone else.
4) Be ahead of your time
You have to be ahead of the game to be the best. The best are always cutting edge.
I'm a success because I'm ahead of the game.
A lot of my articles didn't start making money until years after they were published.
The public finally caught up with me years later and that's exactly where you want to be - the future.
You get kids trying to do what I've done but they're copying articles I wrote four years ago. You dipshits need a time machine so you can copy what I write in the future.
There is no competition if you're ahead of the game. If you're ahead of the game competition simply cannot exist.
The money comes to the first or to the best, so be one of them.
5) There is no competition
Competition only exists if you aren't the best.
You're either ahead of the game and leading the pack or you're playing catch up and competing for scraps with all the other retards who didn't envision the future.
Like the kids who copy my old, old articles and think they're going to make a living. Wrong.
Recipe to be cutting edge: Be you, be new, be true.
That recipe works like a magnet for success.
6) There are no days off
Days off are for people who aren't the best.
Business life balance is for 2nd placers.
There is no business life balance if you're the best.
There is business and business is life and that's it.
Business doesn't sleep. It's a 24/7 365 days per year operation.
When you're relaxing, you're losing money.
Relaxing is a stupid thing to do because relaxing isn't even relaxing.
I've been to the beach a million times, it's never relaxing the way you picture it because you're always thinking about business.
You can only relax if you have no obligations and no responsibility.
When you have money on the line you don't have time to sit on the beach like an asshole.
7) Friends and family come second to business
Q: How do you find the time as an entrepreneur to build your business and also spend time with friends/family/hobbies?
A: You get a 9-5 job and give up like all of the other give-up artists.
It takes every single damn ounce of your energy to build a successful business.
If you're asking how to balance work and life you're just wasting everyone's time.
A successful business was built with 100% of someone's focus, idiot.
Dance recital for your daughter? Wedding for your cousin? Birthday party for niece and nephew?
Have fun kids, I'm busy making stacks of cash.
8) Hobbies are for children
People who “focus on hobbies” are losers.
Hobbies are for children, when you grow up your only hobby should be business.
If it doesn't make money it shouldn't be pursued.
You can have hobbies when you're too old and senile for business.
All hobbies should be turned into businesses.
If you have some dumb hobby like watching MMA fights you should turn it into a business, like I did.
9) Give up everything
You give up everything to be #1.
But giving up everything ain't no fucking sacrifice, it's a bonus.
You give up a life of the mundane for a life of excellence, boo-hoo.
You get these celebrity liars talking about “sacrifice”.
There is no sacrifice to be the best.
You give up all to get all - it's a pretty damn good deal.
The real sacrifice is having some fat wife who watches retard tv all day with fat kids who hate you for wasting your life at an auto-insurance office all day.
You could have given your family more, you could have given them everything, but instead you're a give-up artist and you gave up success for a 9-5 slob job.
Sacrifice? Don't make me laugh. Slobs with jobs are the people who make sacrifices.
Pictured: Victor Pride training in Spartan t-shirt
10) A 9-5 job is the quitters way out
There's a reason they call 5pm “quittin' time” because every day at 5pm the 9-5 jobbers quit.
“Oh, it's 5pm. Now I won't do anything else again until tomorrow.”
Business never sleeps, money never sleeps, serious men never quit - but 9-5ers quit every day of their lives.
Quitting to them is as normal as punching a time clock.
Not to mention…
With a 9-5 job you will only ever scrape by.
You will never get rich, you will never have enough money to make a difference in the world, you will never not worry about bills, you will never have enough money in a catastrophic emergency, and your stupid family will start to despise you.
You can only make a difference in the world if you have money, connections, balls and bulletproof resolve.
9-5 jobs are for slobs, give-up artists who don't want to do anything but beg, beg, beg.
11) Winners focus on winning, losers focus on winners
I get so many pitiful losers come to the website for winners and leave comments about how they can't succeed, about how white people oppress them, about boo-hoo, blah blah.
No one oppresses you, you fucking losers, you're just too stupid and lazy to put in the work.
Anyone who has a minimum IQ of 100 (very low!) can succeed with undivided obsession.
When you cry about oppression you put all of your energy into that (loser) and none of your energy into success.
So if you don't find success, fuck you crybaby, you don't deserve it and that's that.
12) Business is ruthless
You have to learn to be the leader, the general.
People must do what you say and they need to fear you a little bit.
Business is war.
If you don't have the heart to kill then get the fuck out and go work an office job.
Good businessmen must be martial artists.
Martial = war. Business = war.
Successful businessmen are martial artists.
Learn how to give orders and expect them to be followed.
[To learn how to lead read No BS Ruthless Management of People and Profits by Dan Kennedy.]
13) Be selfish
Everyone is selfish.
You're either overtly selfish or covertly selfish.
Overtly selfish people come right out and say what they want.
Covertly selfish people beat around the bush, waste other people's time and try to get other people to do without saying what they want.
Covertly selfish people are cowardly people. People who pretend to not be selfish are losers.
What they do is pretend to be nice or whatever in the hopes that other people will give them what they want.
Say exactly what you want and stop wasting people's time.
[Read Me, Inc. by Gene Simmons for more about how to be selfish in business and life.]
14) Time is money
When you waste time you steal money from people.
You need to be able to say exactly what you want/need within 30 seconds.
Time is money, when you waste my time you are stealing money from me.
15) Experience trumps data
Customers don't know what they want until they get it.
Your moron customers can't tell you what they want because they don't know.
Your customers aren't “ahead of their time”, you are.
You can't rely on surveys and data from them, you can only rely on your sense of the future.
You think 10 years ago people would have said “I want an iPhone” out of the blue? Don't make me laugh.
Leaders don't need approval from customers, leaders create the demand from customers who don't know what they want until they see it.
16) The need for respect is for pussies
“P-P-P-P-PLEASE RESPECT ME!”
Respect is approval. Approval is for dogs.
Respect is like money and girls, when you chase it it runs from you. When you don't chase it, it chases you.
Don't chase respect and people will respect you, chase respect and people will despise you.
It's fine and dandy to be respected.
The need for respect shows that you are a pussy and you don't respect yourself.
I don't give a good goddamn if anyone on earth respects me.
“Respect is what the little ghetto kids talk about before they steal your coat and your shoes.” - Chael Sonnen
Respect is earned, it isn't begged for, so stop begging for it.
17) Only a sissy is afraid to show anger
You get these people talking about anger and hate like they're bad things.
Anger and hate are fuel.
Only a little sissy bitch is afraid to show anger.
Could be, they're afraid they'll get their little sissy mouths slapped if they show anger.
If you're angry, you can show it.
When a bear is angry, you think it cowers like a little sissy? No. It shows anger, and then all the other little animals tuck their tails between their legs.
That's the power of anger.
18) Exercise is the best way to relax and the best medication
You need to hit the gym everyday for a bunch of reasons. 1) You feel better after a workout 2) So you stay in shape 3) So you stay physically strong 4) So you sweat out toxins 5) Because you have self-respect.
19) Physical shape is the easiest indicator of mental shape
Your outsides are an indication of your insides.
If you're a fat slob on the outside it's clear that you're also a mental slob.
If you're a fat-slob you may as well never leave your house.
Fat people are ultimate losers and they're painfully stupid.
It isn't possible to carry around so much fat AND be successful.
It is also impossible to be obese and smart. Obese people are morons 100% of the time.
What you need to do is simply cut out the processed carbs and you'll stop being a fat ass. It's that damn simple.
Also, go to the goddamn gym. Anyone who is anyone makes gym time a priority. Four times per week minimum for the real dealers.

Pictured: Victor Pride hard at work in the old war room
20) Performance enhancing is a good thing
All high-performers use performance enhancing substances.
Go cry to your mommy about ethics and respect and morals.
Only a fool hears the words “performance enhancing” and thinks it's a bad thing.
The same fool who likes to drink fat ass beer or smoke a doobie and “just chill out, man”.
Winners do what it takes.
Athletes take steroids and businessmen take cognitive enhancers.
Business performance enhancers, or cognitive enhancers, include kratom, modafinil, Ritalin and Adderall and, if we are being honest, cocaine and methamphetamine.
I am not recommending narcotics you fucking retards I'm telling you about reality!
21) Mindset is the difference between winning and losing
Get your mind right and everything else will follow.
It's all a damn mindset.
You can literally decide to succeed and you will.
You can decide to complain about not getting success and you will not get success.
Anyone who complains about not getting success is a fucking moron.
How do you change your mindset?
Self talk is where it starts.
All you have to do is change the words you use - that's literally all you have to do - change your words, change your life.
[Read Gorilla Mindset by Mike Cernovich to learn how to self-talk for success.]
22) Life isn't hard
I hear this shit all the time, “life is so hard“.
Life isn't hard unless you're a fool.
Life is as easy as you want it to be or as hard as you let it be.
When you say “life is hard” it becomes true. When you say “life is easy” it becomes true.
Let me tell you, life is so easy it's almost a joke.
When I hear people say “life is so hard” I think to myself that person must have an IQ of about 12 and they're crybabies.
[Read How to Stop Worrying and Start Living by Dale Carnegie to learn how to stop worrying and start living.]
23) Live in the right city
There's a reason people live in Wichita Falls and a reason people live in New York City.
Your city makes a big difference in quality of life.
I, being what goofs call a “location independent entrepreneur”, move around the world a lot.
Always I stay in big cities but I recently spent time in a small city (200k population). My god, what an eye-opener.
If you want success, never live in a small-town.
The people in this small town I can only describe as “retards” and you become like those you spend time with.
Thankfully I never leave my house unless it's to go to the gym, the supermarket, or the sushi restaurant.
Unfortunately, I do get some of their retardation on me during my commute and I could only imagine how awful it would be to live in a small retard town permanently.
If you're in a small town get out now - unless your business is tied to the town.
24) Don't waste your time dating
Dating is an ultimate waste of time.
Only a moron would waste time taking some girl out to dinner and a movie when you could be achieving maximum success.
What? You want a girlfriend? Great. Dating isn't the best way to do it.
Like Mick said “women weaken legs!“.
25) Live spartan now so you can live in comfort later
Spurn comfort so you know how great comfort is.
You get these morons who say “money doesn't buy happiness“. I say to them “shut up you fucking moron“.
Money buys happiness, if you don't think so give all of yours away.
Only when you're comfortable can you spurn comfort.
Do without everything for five years like I did, and you realize pretty damn quick how important money is.
26) No one owes you a fucking thing
Read it again. No one owes you a fucking thing you entitled crybabies.
If you want it you have to go and take it.
If you can't go and take it you're a fucking crybaby coward and you don't deserve it.
Now you can whine some more about no one “giving you opportunities”.
If you let people tell you “you can't do it” then you don't deserve it.
No one is going to “give” you opportunity and you're a goddamn idiot if you think that's how success is achieved.
You see an opportunity and you take it.
Losers wait to be given, winners take.
27) It doesn't matter what other people say or think
All you ever have to be is sure in your approach.
It doesn't matter at all if no one else believes in you at first as long as you believe.
They'll jump on board AFTER you achieve.
No one will be on board before you achieve and they shouldn't be and you shouldn't need that.
There is no such thing as an accomplished critic and if those morons had a good opinion they would be highly successful, wouldn't they.
28) Revenue is an absolute necessity (but isn't used to buy toys)
No revenue = no business.
Without revenue all you have is a hobby, and we know hobbies are for children.
You need systems in place to collect money.
But the damn thing about money is that when you chase it, it runs away.
Instead, you need to attract money.
Money is a game to businessmen.
Money is just the way we gauge how business is going.
When you get money you need to use it for the right things.
When we make tons of money we don't think “wow, now I can buy this and that and this and that“.
If you asked a normal person what they'd do with 100k they say something like “buy a sports car, down payment on a house, vacation etc“.
Ask a businessman and they'd say “I'd do the same thing I do with all of my other money, find a way for it to make me more money“.
29) Never apologize, turn controversy into cash
When the large (in all ways) feminist site jezebel wrote an article about the king, a lot of people were worried I would take my website down.
Don't make me laugh.
That avalanche of traffic sent me to the next level.
I welcome all styles of trash people to write about me, as long as they have a large audience.
Because waves of traffic turns into oceans of money.
If ten thousand people come to your site in anger, one thousand of them can be turned into customers.
No such thing as bad publicity and traffic is traffic.
Stand your ground, never apologize, cash those checks, laugh in their faces.
30) Deadlines produce results
Pressure creates diamonds and deadlines produce results.
When you don't have a deadline you can spend a million years working on your project.
When you have a set deadline you must finish your project. You have no excuse to wait and not work.
When you have a deadline you're under the gun and you have to get it done.
When you have a deadline you have to get that product out, if it takes a week of working 20 hours a day that's what you do.
Create deadlines for your projects if you ever want them to be finished.
31) Read these books
These are my personal favorite books.
Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill – This book completely changed my life and taught me one very important trait you need to be successful – thinking positively.
Arnold: The Education of a Bodybuilder by Arnold Schwarzenegger – This is the most motivational book I have ever read in my entire life.
The Millionaire Fastlane: Crack the Code to Wealth and Live Rich for a Lifetime by MJ DeMarco – This is the best business book ever written and is a must read for any entrepreneur or aspiring entrepreneur.
The 4-Hour Work Week: Escape the 9-5, Live Anywhere and Join the New Rich by Tim Ferris – This book literally changed my life. I thought I was tied to the USA forever, I finished reading this book and immediately bought a plane ticket to Thailand. I haven’t looked back since reading this book.- How to Get Rich: One of the World’s Greatest Entrepreneurs Shares His Secrets
by Felix Dennis - The Laws of the Ring by Urijah Faber – This book is completely overlooked but if you want to build a business around YOU, INC. then this book is a must read.
- Gorilla Mindset – by Mike Cernovich. The ultimate book about changing your mindset to change your life.
- How to Stop Worrying and Start Living – by Dale Carnegie. This is the best book ever written for learning how to “let go” of negativity and live life.
32) Follow these websites
Most websites are trash. These aren't:
33) Have some goddamn self-discipline
I have talked over and over and over and over and over and over about self-discipline.
You know what self-discipline really is?
It's being focused on something you want to do and ignoring everything else.
It's a really damn simple formula.
Work hard on what you want to work hard on and to hell with everything else.
Until next time.
Your man,
-Victor Pride

“In my 33 years on earth I have crated the greatest blog in existence, I’m the best blog artist who ever lived, and I’m in the top 1% of earners in the world (in any age bracket)”
Looks like someone has Kanye West syndrome.
I don’t listen to rap but I understand Kanye is the best, thank you for the compliment.
Haha I always loved Vic’s responses to stupidity.
Well-deserved compliment of the highest order.
Kanye takes up his space.
He’s self made, a first class musician, and is never complacent.
His sound and persona are constantly evolving.
He exemplifies the traits listed here.
[email protected]
TBH I never listened to him until I heard that king to a god song. Like it a lot. Listen to it in the gym sometimes.
You become the best because you stay awake all night in bed fucking dreaming and plotting about being the best.
Sleep when your dead homie. I have been sleeping three hours a day because I’m building. Watch out Vic, I’m coming but then again there is no competition because you are the only you and I am the only me
What do you like about it? The lyrics about weed and cocaine? Or the instrumental that probably wasn’t made by him? Kanye West is one of these cases that’s only successful cause we have enough stupid people around for a lot of them to actually follow him.
The instrumental made by someone else. The lyrics are dumb.
Kanye is a tool that sells trash to the masses.
Vic sells the truth backed by results.
There’s an enormous difference.
If you’re head fits through the door when you walk into a room, you probably don’t have the ego to be a massive success anyway.
“Vic sells the truth backed by results.”
Guilty as charged on all counts.
Hey Vic,I don’t have a credit card to start my own blog.can you suggest me how to create a blog without using credit card.I am very poor and I mean I really really have to start my own busines now.Your advice will be highly appreciated.
Bro, insulting people who are successful is a surefire way to stay shitfuck broke.
I hav the same point of view.
Kanye West is a musical genius. He has a big mouth but you can’t deny his musical skill and his willingness to push boundaries.
Kanye’s a pussy, don’t take that, Vic!
Hey man happy birthday. I’ve followed you for years and thanks for everything you’ve done for me. God bless you and you family buddy.
Thank you.
I’m not a fan of Kanye and he does some stupid shit but he started out with a dream and the drive to build a superior skill set. Everyone who’s anything does that.
Show me a man with no critics and I’ll show you a man with no success.
“Why don’t you just relax?”
“Why don’t you just slow down?”
“What are you working so hard for?”
The single best way for me to determine the worth of someone is by how quickly they try and slow down my progress. Reading this article is just a refresher and it reminds me of a book by Steven Pressfield called, “The War of Art” in the book he talks about professionals and amateurs.
Lets be real here, most people are going to be amateurs at life, all day, every day, for the rest of their pointless and fulfilling life.
I’ll pass. I’ll pass on the comfortable. I’ll pass on the predictable. I’ll pass on all of it.
I am a professional in life. My job is to live, not just exist. So, when people want to tell me how to live my life I’m going to give them the same respect a veteran soldier gives to a new infantry guide.
‘Keep your opinions to yourself boy, I know better.”
Thanks for this article Victor, you’ve got a really good way of busting through the bullshit. I see your site as the only true self-help site, in that you make sure your readers understand the only one who can help them is the one reading the article.
Have a good one,
Steven Shoemaker
Excellent comment, Steven.
Whenever I’m feeling good about myself I like to read Victor’s articles. They’re a nice smackdown to reality, but in the way a man needs from time to time.
Happy birthday to the bad guy. May your next 33 years be even more badass than the first.
Gracias, amigo.
This is the good shit, Victor. This is why I and all the rest of us will continue coming to this site. And goddamn, that “Kicked Dirt” article makes me laugh every time.
I think how a man reacts to this article will prove to be a good litmus test for their success and trajectory in life - I found myself nodding along, mostly agreeing and feeling good about the fact I am doing most of this - and the bits I’m not, we’ll they’re just things to work on and for that I’m grateful.
Agree with all your book recommendations - except The Laws of the Ring - never heard of that and very interested to read it now. I would add “How To Be Free In An Unfree World” by the great Harry Browne as another eye-opening book that has the potential to change everything about the way you view life - though again, many B&D readers will find themselves nodding along rather than being shocked.
“many B&D readers will find themselves nodding along rather than being shocked.”
This is what happened to me when I read it.
Just gave me another title to put on my list of books to read. Thanks.
many happy returns of the day to you, Mr.Pride.
Thank you James.
What if business is my hobby?
“Hobbies are for children, when you grow up your only hobby should be business.”
Good application of the optimal thinking mindset in your lifestyle, but why do you need to be so aggro in the beginning of this post ?
You are the greatest at what YOU do, you’re the best ARTIST with your own voice, but where is the Victor Pride who used to bring the best in people to reach his level of achievement ?
We know, as reader, that haters gonna hate. Why start a post saying that the water will be wet ( some people will not succeed because they will male excuse ) ? Was it the best way to rally people to your mindset ?
Your a masculine male, you go your own way and you get what you want. We can identify you as an “Alpha”. You get nothing by being aggro to people that already dislike you in the first place. It’s like yelling order at deaf people. Where is the leader of men I used to read in the early beginning of boldanddetermined ?
There is a war on masculinity. Let put our energy to bring the best within each other. We’re Spartan. Spartan train with other Spartan, they do not waste time aggroing at Athenian how effeminate they can act.
Thanks for the support, Julien. Have a nice day.
“but why do you need to be so aggro in the beginning of this post ? ”
YOU DONT KNOW WHAT IT MEANS TO BE FUCKING - HUNGRY Dude
TO SEE HUNGRY
TO WORK HUNGRY
TO SLEEP HUNGRY
TO WAKE UP HUNGRY
and what you see? People Crying about the Live.
BOLD AND DETERMINDET ITs Victors WOLRD, and he can WRITE WHAT HE WANT. TO BE FUCKING AGGRO. TO BE FUCKING SELFISH.
FIRST HELP YOUR SELF and then look to “TRAIN” Together.
Xhej
“why do you need to be so aggro in the beginning of this post ? ”
Ooooooh, poor little boy, were your feeeeelings hurt?
I misundestood you Julien. I take it back. Apologies.
“If takes every single damn ounce of your energy to build a successful business.”
Correction: the first “if” should be “it”.
Fixed, thanks.
Also, “could be their afraid” should be “could be they’re afraid”
Yes, fixed. ty
Happy Birthday Victor.
Out of curiosity, when you first decided the 9 - 5 lifestyle wasn’t for you, what were the first actionable steps you took towards becoming the greatest?
I spent a long time envisioning it. Sounds fake, but that’s it. I spent a lot of time just thinking about it. Whatever you want, think about it more.
I agree with Victor on this one. I know the whole “law of attraction” thing might seem like something made up just to sell another product but I also seem to achieve things that I think about the most. Just be patient, keep thinking about it, and keep taking action.
-Alex
“A man is what he thinks about all day long.”
“there is nothing either good or
bad, but thinking makes it so.”
As you think, so shall you become.
Most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be.
think positive get positive, think negative, get negative results.
That was amazing, the best advice from the best website in the world all condensed into one article.
You crack me up with your descriptions of normal people ‘boohoo I miss becky’ haha.
Even though I’ve read all your articles and a lot of those recomended books, I needed to read that rule about deadlines. I’ve been working from home on my own business but everything is taking too long. Now I realise I need to set real deadlines and stick to them, and work longer hours.
Completely agree with you about ‘relaxing’ I dont understand holidays or anything its not relaxing at all, especially when you have no money. It’s not a sacrifice to me to work harder, I’m already obsessed, now I just need to double down on that obsession and not let anyone distract me for a long time.
Deadlines create diamonds my friend. No deadlines, no done deals.
I haven’t even finished the article and I can literally feel the testosterone rising in my body from reading this. Victor, you are my ultimate mentor and I’m putting your teachings to use for sure. I know one day I’ll be a big shot like you, I just have to do the work.
100% correct, just do the work. That’s all it takes.
I absolutely love your writing and life philosophy! I’m always forwarding your stuff to my little brother (21 years old) because I think he can really learn a lot.
I am always told I need to “relax” and it’s “okay to skip a workout” or “stop trying to be perfect- enjoy what you have.” I will never be able to settle for less than the best I can and you are able to express that in a concise and take-it-or-leave-it manner.
Thanks for making the overachievers know they aren’t doing anything wrong!
Thank you Rachel.
To be in the top 1% of earners in the world you’d only need to earn $32,000 a year. Pretty good if you are from Burundi or Chad or Malawi, nothing to write home about if you are in the United States. Manipulation of statistics makes me wonder just how little you really make.
Wonder all you like and thanks for your support. Have a nice day.
Vic has had articles with a picture of his house before, definitely was not a house of someone who makes 32,000$ a year
He posted his income for a month. Do a search.
Some of us on here are pretty fuckin’ successful thanks to Vic. I run a company and cleared $150k in first 12 months. This year, I’m on track to make $200k. And I do that shit from home, with two employees.
When I started reading B&D, I was broke as fuck waiting tables making less than a grand a week in the US.
Many happy returns and keep killing. This shit is for real, and you are a prophet for the new age.
Thanks Byron.
Happy birthday, Vic. This is a good list you put together. My favorite is #26 where you talk about no one owing you anything. If you want something, you take it. End of story.
Thank you.
Awesome article, nice and motivational, it’s just what I needed to push past my mental blocks. I especially liked the list of recommended books, I opened all of them in a new tab and will buy as many as possible. Thanks for the recommendations!
My pleasure.
This is the single most inspiring piece of writing I have ever read.
Happy birthday, Victor.
Thank you JP.
Everyone wants to be a victim and everyone wants everything handed to them without working for it. Very few are prepared to put in the hard work and grind to build something like B&D. Well said Vic, Happy Birthday and here’s to more of the same for the next 33 years.
Thank you.
Vic,
What is the point in having all that money if the only time you leave the house is to go to the store or eat sushi? Sounds pretty boring.
Brian,
What’s the point in having no money if the only time you leave the house is to go to nightclubs, smoke weed, get drunk, go home alone, lay on your bed, thinking about that blonde girl you saw in the bar, masturbating then fall asleep ? Sounds pretty boring.
Balance is the key. If your life is out of balance for too long, something will probably break eventually. Look at what happened to Steve Jobs, one of the greatest entrepreneurs in American history.
I agree, James. I find myself being much happier when I just take (more like forcing myself) a break from my work from time to time. I get so hung up on being totally obsessed with the work at hand that I literally forget to eat or sleep.
To each their own, but balance is key. In my opinion, it’s OK to enjoy the fruits of your labor from time to time, or else what’s the damn point of working so hard? Some folks (yes, I am one of the guilty ones) have such an insatiable appetite for success that no matter what they gain it is never enough. It seems like they never have time to enjoy what they have already because they are always worried about how to make more money. I have been there and done that and nowadays I have chosen to slow down a little and enjoy life a little more by not taking everything so serious. (It’s very hard for me to stay stagnant, by the way). That being said, I had to work my ass off to get to where I am now and I can afford to be just a lazy bum if I wanted to. That won’t happen, but it’s an option, AND OPTIONS ARE GOOD! :)
Vic is spot on though when he says if you want to be the very best at something you better breathe, sleep, shit, and eat whatever it is you want to excel at. Also, you will need to avoid any weapons of mass distraction if you want to achieve your dreams. I have yet to find an exception to what I just stated.
I disagree with Vic though about putting friends and family second to business. My family will ALWAYS come first and my work can take a back burner if it needs to. Building meaningful and genuine relationships with people I care about (friends and family) is worth MUCH more to me than adding more money to my bank account. Honestly, I am never worried about not having enough money because I know how relatively easy it is to acquire. In essence, I provide a valuable service or product that is in demand and I get compensated for it. It’s not rocket science.
Just my two cents.
As usual, great article, Victor.
Oh, and Happy Birthday!
Thanks dude.
I live pretty much the same way. I rarely go out, I workout daily and run my company but when I do go out, I wreck the motherfuckers that work the 9-5.
Last month, I decided to jet off for a week in Jamaica, then when I got back, I bought an Audi convertible in cash.
The beauty about working for yourself is that YOU determine what you do with your free time, not some ass-clown who signs you a measly paycheck for your indebted slavery.
Excellent article. Question about the dating though…I agree that dating is such a waste of time and money but here in the states how can you get a girlfriend or find one without dating? Thanx
One of your hangers on will hang on longer than the others and she’ll become gf by sheer perseverance. The girls you don’t take on dates want you the most.
Can you elaborate?
Victor rarely elaborate.
I would like a post or two onto relationships though. Like how to be the dominant captain of the ship, etc.
Read “The Art of Seduction” by Robert Greene. That’s a great book. The same author wrote “The 48 Laws of Power” and “The 33 Strategies of War”. Also learn about the “matched opposites” theory of finding the right person for you in a relationship.
I’ve not heard of the matched opposites theory but it sounds intriguing. Some of these males are looking for girls who are just like them, and then wonder why it bites them on the ass. Miss Pride could not be more opposite of me.
The “matched opposites” theory of attraction says that ideally for a relationship, you want someone who is “unlike” you (the “opposite” of you) in certain key areas, but “like” you in other key areas.
You want someone who is your opposite in certain areas, so as to avoid conflict in the relationship, and so that each of you brings something of value to the relationship that the other person cannot provide.
Then you also want someone who is “like” or similar to you in certain areas, so that the two of you can relate to each other better, and be understood.
That’s basically how the theory goes.
Coach Corey Wayne, check him out.
Look up a dude named Christian McQueen. That guy will explain exactly how to get the girl and mold her into your ride or die girl. It’s hardcore but it’s eons better than these pussy assed motherfuckers who fill your head with bullshit nonsense about how to get laid.
You’re an entrepreneur now, you don’t need some entitled girlfriend to spend your money. You need a bitch whose going to get out of your way while you work and chill out with you when you’re not. Your girl shouldn’t question what you do, why you do it or say obnoxious “I don’t think that’s a good idea, you should save your money.”
And some advice for you, you probably aren’t going to find that woman in the States.
First off let me start by saying Happy Birthday Victor. There is much to be learned from looking at what you have done with B&D. Someone could literally start with a vision then duplicate in their own way what you’ve done and become successful.
When I say duplicate that doesn’t mean to copy every article etc, but instead to look at the connections you have made and then apply their own unique voice. I’ve never understood why people seek to be exactly like the person who they look up to. You will never be great by being a copy of your “idol”.
What I’ve learned from you is that if you want to be great that you must see what works and then use your own mind/voice to create your own brand.
I end by saying that if you seek success that Victor is a good person to look into.
If everything works with you moving to the States I wish you the best and would like to be able to sit down with you to talk business.
Your friend,
Sergie
Thank you Sergie.
Great content.
I bet all the cry babies will be complaining about all the “harsh” language you used.
But like you’ve said in the past, words only offend woman, children and pussies.
After reading your articles I always walk away with a diamond. “Customer don’t know what they want until they get it.” One of the many things I take and will immediately use in my business. On top of all the other great little nuggets I get from reading your articles.
Thanks Vic.
Always a pleasure reading your work.
Thank you, Nestor.
Happy Birthday Victor. KICKING ASS SINCE 1982!
You might find this little snippet from Conor McGregor interesting, Vic. It’s about a minute long from that point where the link starts.
https://youtu.be/HYEyuFqYeaM?t=46m4s
This post seems fitting, especially since I found this blog around this time last year.
The person who came to this blog last year and the person writing this comment are two completely different people, and I’d like to thank you for showing me the way.
Happy 33rd Birthday, and thanks for changing my life.
“If it does not involve the fight business, it does not involve me.”
McGregor said these words in that video you posted and it correlates to what Victor said in points 8 and 9.
Yes, you’re right. That’s exactly why I linked it.
Conor McGregor exemplifies Vic’s list and stands as the living personification of everything on it taken to the highest degree; pure obsession and rock solid, unshakeable self belief.
His interviews are gold and his actions are platinum. He’s one of the most quintessential men a person can observe, watch, study, and learn from.
Men like him and Vic are hard to come by, so I’m forever grateful for their guidance.
Excellent post and happy birthday, Vic.
As I was reading, I was struck by quite a few statements. They confirm that I am on the right path.
Relaxing is no longer relaxing to me. If I find myself sitting on the couch after a long day’s work, I feel like something is wrong. The need to get up and do something is nearly overwhelming. Typically I am doing SOMETHING productive until I hit the bed at night.
Recently I quit my position as one of the Sr. Instructors at my school and began training elsewhere. I have taken on 3 new styles of martial arts in addition to my primary style. While I’ve never actively chased earning other’s respect, I’ve always wanted it. Now, I really don’t care. It’s all about the art and mastering everything I can. If the respect comes, cool. If not, whatever. It doesn’t affect my growth.
My brother-in-law was in town this past week and was talking about some union thing at work and how he might get $150K (possibly them buying out his retirement? Idk nor care). He immediately went on to say how he’d go buy a house and a new car and yada yada. I was disgusted. Here’s someone who always seems to be having financial problems and could use this money to never have those issues again and his first thought is to blow it all on toys??
I don’t know if you’ve heard of Tai Lopez, but he’s got a great website where he reviews a bunch of books regarding business, success, health, etc. If you’re looking for some good books to read, you might check him out for some ideas.
Wishing you continued success.
Thanks Jacob.
Yeah, I wasn’t able to go through the whole post. But the reason was it was too powerful. Blew my mind. Couldn’t take it anymore.
Victor, I have read all your post and this one is one of THE best! I can’t even understand how you managed to write something that is even higher-quality than what you already wrote. This is some insane shit!
I will come back to read the rest of the post. Damn.
“There are no days off” - but in 30 DoD you say one can have a lazy sunday?
30 DoD was intended to bring men up to an acceptable level of masculinity. Most men today are lazy slobs who play video games all day and whine about how women never want them.
If you want to make 30 DoD appropriate for an entrepreneurial lifestyle, take out the lazy Sunday.
Hey, Victor,
Have you ever read the book Flow by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi? Reading this article, and especially number 22 reminded me of that book, who by the way is recommended by Ludvig Sunström, whom I first knew of by reading Boldanddetermined.com .
Of course, you wrote a great article, as always.
No, never heard of it. I’ll take a look at it.
Hey Vic, Since you’re so financially free I was wondering why do you live in Vietnam?
Also do you have any screenshots of your large bank account you claim to have?
I’m just curious that’s all , happy birthday by the way.
John
Hi John, Yes I have screenshots. In Ho Chi Minh City I spent 8-10k per month in expenses. Not so cheap as you think to live well here.
Happy birthday Vic, and thanks for the phenomenal article. In-depth, straightforward, and true-exactly what we come to B&D for.
I’m considering going to SE Asia (Cambodia). I worked in Singapore for a while before (different story, I know) but I’m shocked that it costs 8-10K to live well in Vietnam. How much are the big spending blocks (housing, food, transportation) per month? I’m trying to bootstrap, hoping to keep it under 5K/month-doable?
You can do it under 5k. I lived in a gigantic mansion and ate sushi 3 times per day. You could keep it under 2k if need be.
Could be their afraid they’ll get their little sissy mouths slapped if they show anger.
Should be ‘they’re’
Thank you for the 33 ways to be the greatest. So much value here and very well written! (I’ve ordered some of those books)
This article would be a great addition to your soundcloud (pridecast), your spoken voice would add another level of impact.
Josh
I was always told in school as a boy to slow down. As a class we would be told to do a research paper and it should be done TOGETHER and last a month. I would knock it out in three days ALONE and I was always scolded for it.
I’m 22 and I have lived outside the united states now for 27 months. I can not stress enough for young men to leave college, focus on another way to make money, and for god’s sakes, do not get fucking married young and not to a western leech.
I cringe when I think of my cousin. He’s 28, married, and must pay $80,000 back to university. But in everyone else’s eyes, he did everything right.
Vic is right on his points. Everyone will bitch and moan about what he says, but that’s because someone else’s happiness/success is a threat.
Well done Vic
“do not get fucking married young and not to a western leech.”
I’ve been gone from the west for such a long time, but I really have to think that young men are starting to really wise up.
It’s articles like these that get me motivated to start my week off taking serious action.
Thank You sir,
Your posts always help me to keep my mind clear. I have improved a lot since the first time I read your one of your blog posts.
Can you write something about self-discipline?
I am really bad at it. I break, just after a week.
Help if you can.
Thanks
Here is the best guide to self discipline: http://30daysofdiscipline.com/
Hi Ayush,
I don’t know what you do, but one thing helped me personally in being disciplined: only look at the present day. Any DAY you are disciplined is a success. Then comes the next day, and the day after that and so forth.
Thank you, Floran. I’ll definitely consider this approach.
I stopped reading after you started trolling the expected trolls. Congrats, you’re awesome man. I’m typically against online trolling but I don’t need to be told I’m a basically a piece of shit because of my current lifestyle. Done with your blog.
Thanks for the continued support, Josh. Have a nice day.
Man up, “dude”.
I might be a PoS (as you call it) as well but know that what am living now ain’t lifestyle. It’s just a phase.
And uncle Vic’s way of speaking the truth is an immediate kick in the butt, to put me back on the right road.
To envision. To work. To get obsessed. To become the best.
Thanks Victor, and Happy Birthday.
Thank you Lupe.
Care to explain what these “expected trolls” are?
“Do without everything for five years like I did, and you realize pretty damn quick how important money is.”
I love reading.
I love playing music. I play in a band, we release songs and plan to get paid for that and to become famous.
I currently own : my clothes, my computer, my weapons for martial arts training (I plan on becoming a teacher), some books.
What do you think about buying books and an mp3 player?
Books and music yes and yes.
Seb, what style(s) do you train in?
Tai Chi Chuan (Yang, Li, Chen), Qi Kong, kung-fu (White crane and long fist).
Victor you rock! Happy B-Day! Jesus Christ’s lived for 33 years and changed lots of things, but you’re similar to him because you’re changing lots of our minds!!! People like you (and Jesus) make the world a better place! Best of luck for you Sir!
Thank you, Robert. I haven’t been to sunday school in a long time, but I recall Christ reappearing after an extended absence. Then the real fun began.
Luk 18:22 When Jesus heard this, he said to him, “One thing you still lack. Sell all that you have and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
Last poor people I gave money to pay for their children’s school for an entire year. Instead they bought the boy a macbook air so he can facebook easier.
its taken out of context. In that story I think Jesus knew in the heart of that person that he placed more value in his wealth than in God. So he said that to test him. It’s not a literal and universal order to all to give you money away.
Exactly. I haven’t seen the Gospel of Christ preached here at Bold and Determined. Are you living for God or for self?
Make no mistake, comrades. When your love of money exceeds your love of people, you will become very dangerous indeed.
Victor Pride is not a role model for a better planet. He is a role model for a better you. And it’s your job to pick up where he left off.
What you really want is wealth, not greed. What you really want is love, not a dicksuck. And what you really want is a better life for everyone, not just YOU.
Man up and wake up you fucking assholes.
Agree, good point. Money is not the end goal.
Actually, I do want a pile of money and my dick polished. Speak for yourself bro.
Vic,
What are your thoughts on torrenting/pirating? Torrenting digital media would greatly help me with a spartan lifestyle by saving money, especially being an engineering student. Our book prices are ridiculous.
Stealing has no place in spartan lifestyle.
Happy birthday, Vic. Another brutal and ass-kicking article. I hope you happily continue your ass-kicking in San Francisco. It’s a great city!
Point 17 has a typo (I think… English is a second language for me):
“Could be their afraid they’ll…” —> It should be “they’re afraid”. Correct?
Thank you, Matias. Yes, that is a typo. Good eye.
Vic,
What music do you listen to?
To put it simply, rock. As you asked I was listening to Radiohead All I Need, but it’s night and I wanted something soft. Metal in the gym, rock/hard rock while working, acoustic at night. One favorite artist is Mark Kozelek, been listening to his song “dogs” lately. Love it, reminds me of being a kid in Kansas again.
Fuckin’ awesome man. Top 10 for sure. Dead lift day, gotta run………
Gary J.
By the way, Victor, you shoud write a book. Like a real printed book of a few hundred pages of high quality content. It would become the Bible of masculinity for today’s men.
Come here Thursday, there might be an announcement.
Guys, I think Victor just gave us an indication of a surprise.
Woaw, that was fast. If I ask you for the volume 2 of this book will you tell me “come back next monday”?
No.
So no annnouncement?
It’s here….
https://boldanddeterminedarchive.com/special-announcement-new-world-ronin/
Yes I like this website.
First of all, happy B-Day Victor (I was born on July 15th).
Great post as usual. I agree that most of it is mindset, envisioning the future while staying ahead of the tide. I began reading this blog last year, and my life has changed already. How? Since we’re close to my own birthday (I was born on July 15th), I would like to list a few introspective points of my own of what I have learned (and not) from this website:
1- Mindset. I think in a completely different way. I now always try to see the “opportunity” in everything that happens around me. By “seeing the opportunity”, I don’t mean that I try to find a way to cash in quickly, but quite the opposite. I reason by “opportunity cost”, I try to see the balance of invested time&money versus potential and real results. If something doesn’t “return”, I just leave it to itself.
2- Networking. One thing that Victor always said is to venture into new lands. This is what I did. It took a LOT of practice, but now I am more comfortable in trying new stuff and “daring” a little bit more. An example is networking with people, as I mentioned in another comment a long ago. I am now pretty well known in the political/social community of my area. Mayor, County Commissioners, State Representative, Functionaries, Business Owners, and so on, they know who I am. Note that this is not important in itself, as accessibility is just a part of the equation. What is important is that they are now introducing me to more and more people, extending my own network. Now, the only thing that I have to do is “just show up”, as Woody Allen would say. The Result? I don’t want to give out too much info about myself here, but I am now board member of a few well-known agencies in my area. While I am certainly committed to helping the community, I can see that this will open even more doors.
3- Patience. I learned this from Victor and Tony Robbins. Patience. Overnight success am not done overnight. Neil Armstrong didn’t become the first man on the moon just by stepping down the ladder. He started in high school, by studying hard, and later on working hard, learning and risking his own life (most people don’t know that he almost died during a training session). I now truly believe that his first step on the Moon was in reality his last step of the journey, and by the fact that he was very calm throughout the whole mission I believe that he was aware of it.
4- Brag. There’s nothing wrong in bragging. As long as you can back it up by facts. That doesn’t mean that in order to say “I am good” I need to know and do everything. Why? Because most people won’t do even the minimum amount of work, therefore just by reading some information on a topic I am more informed than most people! Is there anyone better than me at a given subject? Good! I can now learn even more stuff. Victor knows that by referencing us to good ol’Arnold.
5- Don’t be afraid to invest in yourself. I used to be cheap in what mattered, and being lavish in other stuff. Example? I never thought to pay someone to clean up my resume. I thought that paying $100 to review a piece of paper was too much. Big mistake. Huge mistake. My resume (and linkedin page) is my bragging professional paper. I decided to pay a person with great reviews on Fiverr, just to try. I got the result a few days ago. Oh my, oh my. I invested a few bucks and now I have not only a resume, but a linkedin page, a cover letter, and so on with which I would hire myself in a second. I sent it to a couple of companies, and I got a few call backs already (nothing exciting). Invest in what matters. I own a blog which in truth it’s just a façade to give me more “credibility” in real life. From now on I will pay an editor to review my posts. It’s an investment.
6- Focus. I began focusing more and more. What is focus? Check Steve Jobs explanation on focus on youtube. In a few words: “saying no to a lot of things, and a lot of people. Even if they’re good.”
Where am I failing?
7- Cash in. I need to find how to get my experience to give monetary return. I can see some in long term, both nothing short term.
8- Exercise. I am really lacking on this one lately. I will start a program pretty soon (by the way, it’s a $1000 value that I got for free thanks to connections made with #2), I know that I will succeed, yet I am at a failure point. Exercise and physical well being is very important for the reasons that Victor already listed.
9- Waking up early. I don’t know why, but lately I have been failing in waking up early. I used to be up at 5, and do some boxing at 5:30. I felt like a lion. Now, I can barely wake up at 7, no matter at what time I go to bed. Victor if you have any suggestion on this, I beg you to offer it!!
Minor disagreement with Victor.
“It is also impossible to be obese and smart. Obese people are morons 100% of the time.” I understand what you’re saying, and I understand that this is a generalization. However, there are some obese people who are also smart. They are exceptions, but they do exist. One example is Winston Churchill.
You will always find exceptions to the rule.
We are talking about probabilities here. Wanna bet on the chance you get obese and smart or would you rather bet on the chance of being ripped and smart?
re: Winston Churchill
1945 was different time, no nutrition standards, cigars and alcohol cured diseases.
these days literally all the information is out their on how to be healthy and successful (mind, body, spirit) and you just don’t see [m]any successful obese people who are younger than 50.
GLL, good observation!
Thanks EA
I laughed a little inside about the fat people being stupid thing Victor wrote.
Just 1 week ago i happened to come across a similar statement on a book (“Enzyme Nutrition”, recommended): “When rats are given a “factory” diet, body weight goes up and brain weight goes down. I have reached this conclusion by assessing more than 50 reports…”.
Brain weigth for rats actually decreases - not relative to total weight, but in absolute terms - for fat rats.
We won’t be seeing the same meta study in humans anytime soon.
Going off of point 24, I am currently 19 years old studying computer science at university, should I focus on my studies and other important work and not worry about partying/dating/hooking up? In your other article about sexual energy, you mentioned to not waste it haphazardly, does that also apply to younger guys?
I’d hook up left and right, I just wouldn’t make it #1 priority.
Yo Victor,
Have you ordered Modafinil while in Thailand? If so, do you have a source?
Read the article I linked.
Game, set, match.
Rock Fucking On !!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAN I LOVE YOU YOU SPEAK THE TRUTH!
YOU SHOULD RUN FOR PRESIDENT OF THE USA!
I AM A 52 YEAR YOUNG BLACK WOMEN
“52 year young women”
lol
Thanks for a fantastic article. As some one else commented, I could feel my motivation and testosterone levels rise while reading. And I’m in my 60’s. Everything you say is right on target. Keep it up.
Will do, Alan.
Bold and determined is like a bible for me, I find myself coming here everyday, Mr pride speaks the truth, even people that don’t like this website secretly know everything here is gold.
Thank you, Vinci.
Your last pieces of writing were becoming very “predictable” comparing them with the classic ones. But this one is WOW!…I think you are reinventing yourself, Vic 2.0.
Thankyou for this article!
You’re welcome. No 2.0, it’s simple evolution.
Nice post.
Victory or Death
I agree 50%. Victory or death means you aren’t certain.
Victory.
Victory ’til death.
Happy Birthday you share it with the greatest man who ever lived.
Thank you for the bday wishes. Who do I share it with?
Happy Birthday Vic. God Bless.
Thank you.
Hey Vic, just wanted to say I stumbled across your blog a few months ago and it’s possibly the best thing that ever happened to me. It was a kick in the ass I needed to become more motivated in following my dreams and living a better life and because of it I’m now on a career path where showing up to work is something I look forward to daily rather than dreading. It seems most people who go in on you in the comments are morons who cannot grasp something like this for themselves.
I do have a question about body of a spartan, i have been wanting to pick it up but would like your opinion; I currently lift in my apartment, with Powerblock elite 130s and a station for dips/weighted chins. Can I still do body of a spartan with unilateral exercises for legs such as Bulgarian split squats etc?
BOAS really does require a gym. Thank you for the compliment.
Thank you for your honesty, going to work at finishing my own home gym down the road then picking it up. Keep up the great work
You get kids trying to do what I’ve done but they’re copying article I wrote four years ago.
Correction: article should be articles
Relaxing is stupid thing to do because relaxing isn’t even relaxing.
Correction: Should be an ‘a’ between is and stupid.
Have fun kinds, I’m busy making stacks of cash.
Correction: kinds should be kids.
Covertly selfish people beat around the bush, waste other peoples time and try to get other people to do without saying what they want.
Correction: peoples should be people’s
Happy Birthday Victor.
Thank you. And very good eye for typos.
No problem. And also: You dipshits need a time machine so you copy what I write in the future.
Correction: Should be a ‘can’ between you and copy.
Victor, up until now, I loved your blog, butt now I have second thoughts.
Winners do not have to overly brag about their success. People notice it.
I think your success has gone to your head.
What good is money, if you have no time to enjoy it?
The whole idea of having lots of money is to have time to enjoy family events, weddings, etc.
If you ever got married, you always remember the person that gave you the $500 gift. I do that all the time now and relatives, who never used to call me, now call me and invite me to dinner, take me out on their yachts, etc. For every $500 I gifted, I have gotten back well over $1,000.
I used to work 17 hours per day, when I started my business. Now, I only work 6 hours per week, as my business is on autopilot. The content on my website is created by paying customers. My business, Weezoo.com, is a sharing economy platform that enables customers to do business with each other. Our revenues are doubling every month. Investors are contacting us to invest in our business.
If you spend all your time, trying to make money, you soon burn out and become less effective. Your life goes by and you later wonder where it went.
I learned that hard lesson 30 years ago.
I agree with you that working for others will not make you rich. I also agree that you have to invest lots of time into your venture, especially in the beginning. However, if your business of 3 years requires 80% of your time, you do not have a business. You bought yourself a job. Who needs that? You are in worse shape than a job because you are chained to your business, like a slave and cannot escape. At least working for others, you can quit the job.
I tell people to invest in a business that almost runs itself, like Real Estate. I like residual income from using my head more than slaving for my business. The careful planning up front, saves me years of wasted time, trying to figure it out later.
When I start a new venture, I learn everything about it first and understand what my competitors are doing wrong before I jump in. I play to win.
To get to the top in success, you need to leave your ego at the door. I produce value that people are willing to pay for and get paid well. The value I deliver is enabling my customers to do business with each other in a very efficient and easy way. All I do is scale the business, by adding capacity to my website and adding features that enable my customers to better interact with my platform. I plan to be a billionaire soon. That will give me all the freedom to do as I please. I no longer need to work all day and night. I want to enjoy myself, without having to live in third world countries.
Thanks
Tom
Thanks for the sweet compliments, Tom. Have a nice day.
This article is one of the best I read in recent times!!!
When you read this article, and if it makes you uncomfortable then that means ‘Lion is looking right into your eyes and you have no where to hide’!!
Thanks and Happy Birthday Victor!
RoarWithR
Thank you.
“Someone asked me if modafinil gave me an edge over my competition.
I said a) I don’t have any competition. Artists don’t compete with anyone and nobody on earth can write like me and b) Yes. Modafinil helps you focus on obsession, obsession gives you an edge over the competition.
Athletes take steroids and businessmen take cognitive enhancers”
Haha fuck yea, I think its hilarious when people ask me if they think its “cheating” to use Modafinil. Of course it is, but who cares?
The notion of cheating outside of sport is moronic. Get from A to B in the best way. Period.
fucking sick article, extremely motivational, i’ve made £750 from my laptop this month sitting on my ass and hitting the gym (not mega bucks but i’m in college and don’t work for some shit corporation) while all my friends are in shamefully deep debt working shit jobs to pay for money they spent what they never had, you’re a true winner, love everything you post it’s great motivation and gets me scheming about what i’ll do next to expand my revenue streams
750 is no joke. That’s real money. Excellent work.
cheers vic, very motivating to hear it from the champ himself
You sound like me, with all his friends in debt and chasing the materialistic things!
And let me guess, they tell you that you’re wrong for being minimalistic, not wasting money and not getting a car on finance?
Anyway, I’m wondering what advice you have for me in the UK, on how you go about bringing in £750 a month online?
Thanks
yea man haha, the same old story! actually 750 is usually a minimum check out my website in my link i have it all in there and links, usually i make 900-1300 in a given month, it’s called matched betting/bonus bagging, more info on my blog :)
Hey man I’m curious as to what you do is it blogging or internet marketing? I am also from the UK
Hi Victor! Happy 33rd birthday!!! I really enjoyed the article! I think it’s one of your best! You are so inpirational!
Thank you.
I made a shout out for you on my blog! If you go to my blog, it’s in the first article that comes up, letsbebloggerswithb.com
But I don’t like list posts. 33 Ways to…yawn…wonderful. And then I read it anyway. Because I like this blog.
This post is brilliant.
Someone who has never read Bold and Determined before could read this one article, and have at their fingertips the basic points of pretty much the entire website good to go in a simple, easy to follow list.
They wouldn’t even need to read anything else.
I love it. And expecting “yet another list..” made its brilliance shine through that little bit more.
Happy birthday and thank you for a fantastic article.
Thank you Seb.
thank you for giving us a gift on your birthday, few do things like that. enjoy your bd….here’s to living long and strong, mr. pride!
I will enjoy, thank you.
Hey Vic happy birthday I have followed your blog since 2013 I am 15 year old and I like your blog have a good life
I will, thank you.
Raymond,
Keeping following Victor’s blog and actually apply his teachings in full. I found his blog about a month after I turned 18 (19 currently) and I spent about 8 months just reading and living vicariously through Victor, without taking any action myself. I have recently started to take action, and it is worth it. Don’t be like me, start early.
Have a happy birthday Victor!
Thank you Farhad.
Happy Birthday man.
I turned 22 today. Learned about “pick up” in 2012 august, and have been following a grapevine to self improvement ever since. Glad I found your blog and your spartan workout book.
Thank you Pavel. Happy birthday to you.
Such cringeworthy, unsubscribing now.
Btw, Nice gyno lol
Tim, thanks for the undying support. Have a nice day.
I read everything that you post and find all of it to be very helpful/inspiring stuff but today’s article really hit home with me. It not only reads like a blueprint for how to get the most out of one’s life but as I was reading it I kept nodding my head up and down and saying to myself “wow, that’s exactly how I feel about my life”.
In 2008 I quit a $100,000 a year job to move to Las Vegas to become a full-time “sports investor” or as most call it “a professional gambler” (I really hate that term). My friends and family said the same thing to me before I left “you will be back” or “why would you quit your high paying job (with insurance, LOL) for something with no guarantees, etc”. Fast forward seven years later and not once have I ever regretted making the move.
I completely agree with the #1 thing on your list as “obsession is the key to success” is BY FAR the most important factor to accomplishing anything in life. I have no real special talents or gifts but I’ve able to succeed in something that most fail at due entirely to my daily obsession with it.
When I look back at my life to this point, the times that I’ve been completely obsessed about something are the times where I’ve succeeded the most and when I wasn’t into something 110%, those have the things I’ve failed at.
Happy Birthday Victor- I hope year 33 is a very memorable one for you (I’m sure it will be)!!!
Thank you Jacob, Interesting career choice as well, I’d love to read more about it.
Hey jacob, I would also love to hear more about your story. Would you be interested in doing an interview? I have started a project on my site where I interview industry experts and upcoming entrepreneurs but I would also love to share inspiring success stories of people like you.
Let me know what you think, or contact me and I will get back to you.
You surpassed yourself with this article once again, Vic! It’s my favorite now. It’s true, right mindset is worth more than any amount of money, because if you’ve got false mindset, then no big money wan’t ever help you. I know some people with rich parents, and guess what, their lifes’re incredibly miserable, even with all the comfort they’ve got.
Thank you Alex.
Fucking kick ass post!
I cannot believe that there are people who frown on your work? I think your work is MOTIVATIONAL and in your face! Being a Corporate Drone myself I say don’t listen to those losers as those are the very some ones who complain constantly on how bad and boring their lives are.
You are a MOTIVATOR Victor keep doing what you do! And yes your 33 ways to be the greatest is the shit!
Thank you Jose.
Happy Birthday Mr Pride, wish you all the best!
Great Article, great website !!
Please give me advice, i have the following *problem* situatiation (dont really like the word problem)
I am trying to be in PRO STATE: by this i mean being a man; tacking action, going to the gym working on my bussiness etc. but after a few daysi all this vanishes and i get into normal state again, watching tv drinking beer and smoking and fooling around, not tacking action and wasting my life, i have been in this vicious cycle for some years, `1 week in pro mode and the rest of the month in shit state after some time again i decide to take action, again for a couple of days and back to stupid state
How can i be in the pro state all the time and in the zone all the time ?
thanks in advance!
greetings from Bulgaria!
same with 30 days of discipline; i have a bit modified the action steps but after a few days i stop tacking action….then after some time i start again and only last a few days….
The pain of regret is bigger than the pain of inaction. I was like that every 4-5 months with the gym, now I haven’t quit for 9 months. You just show up on every day whether you feel like it or not.
By the way, how can I contact you, I think I might have something for you.
My first thought is what is Bulgaria like? What is your environment like? It could be a big influence on your behavior.
The motivation I needed to make some sh!t happen. Thanks!
Thanks Jason.
I love #14 and the last sentence: “Time is money, when you waste my time you are stealing money from me.” As Benjamin Franklin said, ” . . .do not squander time, for that is the stuff life is made of” and I don’t appreciate people squandering my life.
Happy Birthday Victor on your 33rd. I am 20 years older, and I am heartened to see someone of your generation that has not been corrupted by the PC, pussyfied society of today. Keep up the good message.
Regards,
Dave
Thank you Dave. The message will remain.
Happy birthday Victor, I learned a lot from this article. One thing : What should we do instead of dating? Just call her to your place? Can you explain how should i go further with a girl at first stage?(Instead of dating, going movie etc.)
The way I see it (I could be wrong), if you’re a successful man, you won’t have to keep dating a woman for months and struggle to advance the relationship at a snail pace and wait until she’s ready. Be successful and the pace a relationship develops at will be much quicker, much less time and money to spend.
Call her to your place after 10ish. Dinner? No, but you can come over tonight.
I’m under 18, is hard to find time(and place) were I could hook up. I’m busy working on my goal as well so I don’t date/ waste time doing anything else. I don’t have problems with girls as I’m in shape and I’m confident, the thing is that I need some sexual activity and jacking off is not an option. Should I endure or desist?
Happy birthday Victor, live long and prosper. I loved especially 10, 26 and 27. This article is a true wake-up slap for anyone who has yet to get his shit together.
Thank you Khalid.
Happy birthday there Vic! Thanks for the awesome content you’ve made available throughout the years. This latest most recent article really hit me hard. Keep up all the great work!
Will do Mr. Lucky.
Great article
Only disagree with #7 (to a point)
QUALITY time spent with your family is fucking brilliant
I did say spending time isn’t #1 priority, I didn’t say don’t spend time.
Very True
Anyway, as you were!
Some people may think Victor is wrong. I live the complete opposite I’m high in debt, I go to university because my parents told me, I live in a complete fucked up town and most of the day I spent in the internet wasting my time with friends in video games. The rest of the day I watch TV series and porn. I could write a blog about how not to be the greatest in everything and complaining about politics, society and why everything is not my fault. (At least I go to gym and read books, also accomplished 30 days of discipline but to say it in the words of Michael Corleone: Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in.)
What I want to say is you must choose either join the wining circle and take advice or the whining circle and go to the dark side and join me but you won’t like it here.
Best regards and congratulations Nico
Thanks Nico.
you shouldn’t write things like you are the best blog artist that ever lived. pride comes before a fall and you lose credibility when you say things like that because it shows its all getting to your head. I’m a fan but pull your head in. Without hormones you are a low testosterone male so your inflation is largely artificial. Get real and come down a few notches and start examine the fall of many of the greats so you don’t shoot yourself in the foot which I don’t want to see. You’ve worked too hard. Cheers
No thanks.
Check out victor prides 30 days of discipline video for how he looks without “hormones”.
Great article, Vic. It’s always a thrill to see your new articles and happy birthday to you.
Thanks Blayde.
Completely unrelated….I discovered your blog a few days ago and I am devouring every post.
I read that comment of yours on the “how to meet shy girls article”. I can not comment on the “how to meet shy girls post” so I will do it here.
Victor Pride says :
“What you said about Asian girls being manipulative is of course 100% true. But there is a big BUT! here, if a fella is the type of goof to get taken advantage of by an Asian girl he’d easily be taken advantage of by an American girl, a Russian girl, a fucking Congolese girl and a damn Martian girl. Some men were born to eat shit, some morn are willfully blind to certain realities, some men are silly pussies. And they’ll never change no matter how many girls use them up and spit them out. Such men are naive and idealistic to the extreme.”
I am that man.
Any hope for me?
“Any hope for me?”
If you wise up and nut up.
Inspiring read. The bit about small towns/cities is so true! Made me laugh out loud
great article as always Victor , happy birthday brother ..your blog and gll’s and mikes c have changed my life for the better ,am living my dream , your serge nubret article is the first one that started it for me .!
its amazing how your life can change in 2 years , i went from an average weight of 82kilos with $45000 in debt ,living like a slave like everyone else , tied down to a location in a fucked up relationship ,basically being average joe mowing his fucking lawn every sunday…….
Your blog opened up a little switch in my head and i said fuck it , booked a ticket overseas and said see you later…….ha ha
i own all my cars ,motorbikes , have assets that make me money , have no debt , started a side business thats making me good cashflow and i travel overseas every 3 months , also am 91 kilos now and strong as fuck ,nothing is impossible my brother , i never whinge now and never complain ,and dont take shit from anyone and its amazing how the world opens doors for you
can you recommend any good gyms in makati , manilla as im here for a couple of weeks thanks mark
In Makati I used golds gym. Whatever you do, find a gym that is close enough to walk to. Last thing you want to do in Manila is take a taxi. Thank you for the compliments.
One of your best post my favorite is #22. Life is easy it’s just that people make it difficult. Happy Birthday btw, my bday was on the 10th just turned 23 (born on same day as Jake LaMatta)
Thank you Shane, and happy belated birthday.
Vic, happy birthday. Wow that post was on fire - loved it. Nice touch with the embedded tweets, very cool. As always looking forward to your posts.
Thank you Dave.
Happy Birthday Mr. Pride! As always, you’re killing it in life and that’s something to be very proud of. Btw, do you take back your idea of starting out as a location independent entrepreneur in small towns like Chiang Mai and Ho Chi Minh City? They do have the benefit of being less expensive.
I think you should start out and have cash flow in your own country. Then move if you want WHEN you have revenue. Don’t move when you don’t have revenue.
Ah, so it would go something like this: Move to SE Asia or S. America from the US and make enough revenue to live very comfortably in the U.S. when you go back, kind of like how you did.
No. If you plan to move back don’t even bother moving int the first place. Live where you want to live. You don’t want to be a 3rd world country with no money, that’s why you make money before you move.
Fuck yeah Mr. Pride.
Keeping it real as always, love it.
Your blog honestly changed my life and I mean that. You got me out of a slump that left me suicidal.
Most important lesson I have learned from Bold and Determined? Be a fucking wolf.
Best Regards.
Thank you Chase. I’m happy to have helped.
To be in the top 1 percent you only need to make roughly 35k a year, I assume you make much more than that. Maybe you are in the top quarter of a percent?
I’m using this metric http://www.financialsamurai.com/top-one-percent-net-worth-amounts-by-age/
Hey Vic, great post! I’m curious how you monetize your business. Just affiliate links and ebooks? Your formula for success is quality blog posts (that bring traffic) + affiliate links + ebooks/merchandise = profit… it’s that simple?
Yes, it’s that simple.
Hi Victor,
Happy birthday.
This post in podcast form would be perfect alarm. It’s not just motivational b.s. rather it made me pause and think where I am falling short.
Thank you
Thank you Michael.
Happy birthday Victor! Good advice for young, impressionable men with a hunger to crush it in life. I’ll recommend B&D to my son when he’s older as I’m sure it will still be around in 10 years!
For older men with established commitments but wealth I think there is still a lot that can be learned from Victor with a lot of advice being actionable in some way, no matter how incremental.
Great list of books by the way, currently reading Mike’s Gorilla Mindset which is excellent!
Thank you Andrew.
On one of your youtube video “Live Like No One Will So You can Live Like No One Can” on this article under number “25) Live spartan now so you can live in comfort later”, you stated that shaving your head is a first step to not allow oneself to have attachment to stuff because stuff doesn’t matter.
I find it interesting you brought this up because I always wondered why Buddhists shave their head and I see the parallels. Buddhists do not like to have attachment to things, stuff and any worldly pleasures (although you only mentioned stuff). So therefore Buddhists shave their head to symbolize that they do not like to be attached to things.
Which gets me thinking. Whenever I get a new fresh haircut, I always feel energetic and feel ready to handle down any task.
God dammit Victor Pride, this I feel is the best motherfucking blog post ever written. This has every step to living a life worthy of living. I have been following you for years, (Since 16). I can honestly say with all my heart I am the most alpha male I know in real life. It’s cocky I know, but each and everyday it becomes clearer to me. I feel like my life is a fucking dream and its just getting started. I have instilled absolute discipline in my life, my body shows for it. I’m only 18 and people think I’m in my mid 20s. I hit the gym 5x a week, I read and enhance my mindset constantly. I don’t waste my time with entertainment. I am living a Spartan life. There’s no going back. I can’t thank you enough Victor. This post is possibly the best thing I have ever read. I am so damn glad I found you, you alone have taught me so much. One of my greatest mentors, you have also lead me to other badass people. Mike Cernovich, John Doe, Chris from GLL. They have all changed my life, truly are my greatest inspirations and teachers. I can thank you for it Vic. You have led me to all of them. I never comment on blogs, but I feel I needed too. Thank you again, for everything Victor.
Thank you Tristan.
I think any one of these 33 concepts will put someone far ahead from where he or she is now. Great post and Happy Birthday Victor.
Thank you Florian.
So much powerful condensed wisdom
Happy birthday to you dear victor. Your blog inspires and continues to keep me on track. Whether you care or not I do respect you a lot ;-)
Truly
Thanks AV.
Love your blog, but a little humility goes a long way Victor.
Thanks Johnnie.
LOL
I fucking love this post.
I’ve ALWAYS said, “Life is as hard or as simple as you want it to be.” Spot on there.
“A 9-5 job is the quitters way out”
I have never succumbed to the 9-5 life. I have merely thought about it, but then thought about being in a room full of sheep and average fucks and that drives me right back into why I started off the way I did in the first place. (I started my first business right out of school with absolutely nothing…no money, just a piece of shitty paper like everyone else. Three years later and I’m onto my third company.) So thank you for reiterating what I’ve never been afraid to express to friends and non-friend 9-5ers of the like. They think I’m a hater.
“Friends and family come second to business”
Not going to lie, this is one I have “struggled” with…and by struggled I mean sort of feeling guilty that whenever I’m with friends or fam, all I’d rather be doing is working on my business. I’ve pretty much given up on feeling guilty about it at this point. (Sometimes I would even find myself saying yes to hanging out with a friend just because I thought I should to have some sort of “work-life” balance that you speak of. Time to finally let that go once and for all…never truly cared anyway.)
“Only a sissy is afraid to show anger”
But when chicks in biz show it, they’re just bitches. OH WELL.
Thankfully I never leave my house unless it’s to go to the gym, the supermarket, or the sushi restaurant.”
This cracks me up. I don’t even grocery shop myself anymore…I use Instacart because I can’t handle the normies out there.
Your writing helps me because it reassures me that obsessing over my work, working on my businesses all the time, and not really being into hanging with friends/family, going out, etc. is just fucking fine because it’s going to get me to a place where my average friends can never even dream of.
Happy Bday!
Thank you Alexa. I also cannot stand the normies at the grocery store.
All I have is those 3 magical words for you - ” GET OVER YOURSELF”
Thanks for the support Chickin.
Sorry for my dumb post earlier. I’ll never start a statement with what I said before. It seems like you have a very diverse group of males reading about you so I guess it’s nothing to even think about. I’m looking forward to seeing you in the Bay Area! I go to school here and it’s a good place to be. Happy birthday Vic.
Thanks Greg.
Love the article. About twp and a half years ago, I wound up, for the first time in my life working in a office at night, and I had a lot of time to think and surf the net. I had a lot of time to reevaluate my life, and my past choices. And like a clear voice in the dark, I found your website. I have been following it now for almost two years, and it has inspired me in more ways than I can express. I have become lean, muscular, more aggressive, and I have been laying the foundation for a prosperous future. I raise my glass in honour of your birthday, and your great success. Keep up the amazing work.
Ty Keller
Thank you Ty.
Hey Vic, excellent post.
I’m going to take Danger and Play/Good Looing Loser’s advice on going to college cheaply and prioritizing a sex/social life so I can get it out of my system and be an emotionally healthy adult. What are your thoughts on that?
*Looking
Sounds good.
Goddamn Victor. It’s been almost 4 years since I started reading your site. Started my cut 8 weeks ago, and I’m now about 1 month out from my vision so long ago, of my perfect body. The physique is only the first step though. Laughing while I read this. Your website really did save my life. A friend recently asked me “what’s the price of gold” to which I replied “mediocrity”. Happy birthday.
Thank you Bruce.
Wow, talk about ruffling feathers! What an intense post.
As I write this you’ve got almost 250 comments on this post, but I’m guessing there’s another 250 troll/hater/pissed comments that haven’t seen the light of day, right?
Many of the points you bring up are unspoken, cold-hard realities of (massive) success and it takes real balls to say it - respect to you for that. Look up ‘polarizing’ in the dictionary these days and it comes up with a Victor Pride mugshot. Well played - I’m sure that’s been one of the keys to B n D’s huge success in becoming a phenomenon of a blog.
Keep doing your thing, and happy birthday you crazy mofo!
“As I write this you’ve got almost 250 comments on this post, but I’m guessing there’s another 250 troll/hater/pissed comments that haven’t seen the light of day, right?”
No, I got less hate mail on this post than on anything else this year. Thank you for the bday wishes.
Victor, happy belated birthday man! I do hope you’re enjoying yourself! Great article by the way, I do feel a lot of anger coming from this article, which goes along with the point you made about showing anger. Anger is fuel if channeled correctly, I use it often.
I had no idea that you had so many haters on here. It’s like they’re all just coming out of the woodworks. How they “troll” is just the point you mentioned about posers focusing on winners but winners focusing on winning. Keep up the great work man! Been a reader for a few years now and you have helped me a bunch!
Losers focusing*
Thank you Jacob.
Curious as to whether you have any religious affiliations? If so, state which system, if not, explain why.
Happy Birthday Mr. Pride
I found the time machine joke to be hilarious!
Rock on!
Thanks Josh.
A POV- point of view-
live, work hard and have fun.
If you’re just having fun all the time ( no business no achievements ) then you are stupid. ….if you are working all the time (no having fun) then wait for the day when you realize how stupid you are as well and as hell.
Thanx to the writer! good article !
I remember the day when I have found B&D, over two years ago. IMMEDIATELY took action. It was about being selfish to attract women. Man, I got so much pussy since then. And I got them on MY conditions!
Also, since reading here about Steak & Eggs diet I’m keeping my meals (usually two/day) very simple. Works wonderful. I’m ripped all year around!
Best wishes Mr. Pride! Thank you for inspiration you bring.
Thanks A.
What an inspiration you are Victor. I have a deadline today to write a major business paper, and reading your comments here has me pumped and in the zone and right to go. I recommend a new book which you would like - Bold: How to Go Big, Create Wealth and Impact the World by Peter Diamandis and Steven Kotler.
Thanks Robert.
Agree with most, with the exception of the one about “friends and family” coming in second. As aptly said by the former CEO of Coca Cola: “Imagine life as a game in which you are juggling some five balls in the air. You name them - work, family, health, friends and spirit and you’re keeping all of these in the air. You will soon understand that work is a rubber ball. If you drop it, it will bounce back. But the other four balls - family, health, friends and spirit are made of glass. If you drop one of these, they will be irrevocably scuffed, marked, nicked, damaged or even shattered. They will never be the same. You must understand that and strive for balance in your life.”
Hey everybody, Art of Manliness.com might be a better choice for you than this site. Go check it out, they provide well balanced and respectful information. Too much bashing and too much ego here. There’s not enough perspective coming from such a powerfully ego-tistical mindset Victor Pride chooses to express.
Check out these articles to get an example of what I mean:
http://www.artofmanliness.com/2008/08/26/3-man-killers-money/
http://www.artofmanliness.com/2015/04/27/benefits-of-giving-money/
Lemme guess, your gonna bash my comment? Listen, a little advice doesn’t hurt does it?
I sound harsh, but deep inside I respect that you hold truth to your own values and wishes. You should always strive to become the best version of yourself (yes, it’s possible with at least a little bit of humility!) You make great points that I agree that every man should strive for, but at the same time you dumbfound me with your “me always” attitude.
Hey Victor and Happy Birthday.
I am very happy you are doing good and growing your empire.
It’s been 2,5 years since I started reading B&D, 2 years ago since I left my first comment.
Your Blog Posts have taught me more than a lifetime of failure could have ever taught me and I am very grateful for that.
Without B&D I wouldn’t be in the position I am in right now, I wouldn’t have a submissive girlfriend, a stipendium for engineering and a side gig earning me money to travel asia.
30 DoD changed my life so much during the past 2 years that everything- starting from my friends(very few now), to my bank account - is fundamentally different.
Again thank you so much for the information you provided. You can’t even imagine how much you helped out a young man with no parents arround. I’d be on the street without B&D.
Here is something I would be very interested in and I would like to ask you what you think about it:
As you have lived and done business in Asia, traveled a ton, dealt with corruption, got an asian girlfriend etc. - would you ever consider writing a book about your time there now that you are moving back to the states?
I would drop greens to know the best spots to travel to (in your opinion).
I would drop even more greens to know how you managed to live in China, Vietnam and Thailand
There is no real guide out there for these countries and they are a blogger’s and online business man’s paradise.
Greetings from Munich to you big guy
Thanks Tony.
Great read. More aggressive than your usual writing. Love the reference from Chael.
Hope you come back to the U.S. again. “Men” are declining in our society.
Victor,
I am a new subscriber to your site and I must say I like the in your face way that you write. No sugar coating of the issues. I had a very successful mortgage company that I built with my own two hands up until it collapsed with the economy in 2008. I have found myself making to many excuses why I can’t build another successful business again. I can sell and I was never a guy that punched out at 5pm. Your article was a reminder to me of what it takes to make it happen. Keep up the good work. Your my kind of a##hole.
Thanks Jed.
Hey Vic,
Happy birthday! I’m new here so please bear with me…
You say hobbies are for babies, but what if your hobby is the one thing that makes you happy?
In middle school I discovered metal and club music and other experimental stuff and I became absolutely obsessed. During HS/college I played in bands and did solo work. My fondest memories come from playing to a live crowd.
After being steered away from music by parents and counselors and friends, I wasted years and nearly six figures on college to study something I didn’t care about. I now have a job that eats away at my soul. I’ve been trying for 3 years to make money on the side (freelance work, niche websites, even tried to write novels), but my heart isn’t in it. I don’t get fired up over them.
In the end, I ALWAYS come back to music like a junkie. It seems like no matter what I do, the curse will not go away. I’ve thrown away vinyl and sold off equipment, does not help.
Now at 25 I have nothing to show for but bills and debt. I feel trapped between wanting to pursue music and wanting to escape corporate hell.
I’ve been living like a Spartan. I go to the cheapest gym in my area 5 times a week. I only spend money on food, rent, gas, and loan payments. I can be obsessive, I can be bloodthirsty, I just a solid channel to pour myself into.
Since music is a hobby, what would you recommend? Say fuck it and go 100% for music, or bury that pipe dream for good and start a real business? Is there an option C? I’ve been contemplating quitting my job just to take back control in some way, just to force movement. I’d prefer waterboarding to another year in my cubicle.
Been losing sleep over this, I’d be extremely grateful for any advice you can offer.
Thanks,
Joe
Music is only a pipe dream if you believe it’s a pipe dream.
Outstanding article, Victor! Happy birthday
Thank you Paul.
I see myself coming back to this list again and again.
I think Mark Cuban once said that you can become obsessed with anything. You work on it, you become better. That way, you have more fun doing it. As a result, you work on it some more, you become even better. And so on, until you are obsessed with it.
You don’t wait until “the muse” strikes you. You go ahead and do the work.
And it’s true, there should be no job that you can’t turn into a profitable business through obsession. Once you are obsessed, you want to expand on your efforts. The best way of doing that is through a business.
Gary Vaynerchuk franchised his lemonade stands when he was a kid. He basically ran 7 stands all over his neighborhood when he was 8 years old.
Vic, if you were a boxer you’d be Victor “the truth” Pride. Happy belated birthday, you’re one of the only people on the planet who dishes out some much needed tough love for men. There’s a serious lack of professionalism in the world these days and it’s inspirational to read sites like Bold and Determined that is dedicated to explaining exactly what that means and what that entails.
Thank you bro.
Thank you Loon.
Victor great post this is exactly what i needed to read. You always inspire me to do better I’ve always been selfish and seeing you write and talk about selfishness is awesome you’re definitely a great guide for greatness
Thank you John.
I’d expect the “greatest blog in existence” to be on this list of the top 15 ranked blogs, but it’s not
http://www.ebizmba.com/articles/blogs
Don’t confuse popularity with greatness. Jezebel is on that list…nuff said.
I love and follow the idea of obsession. But i don’t understand why being obsessed about money is the only true thing. Many people are as bold and determined as you in non money related areas. It’s okay to say that you can be obsessed with money, but to say that every one should be and to insult people who are not, is not right (I mean ass kicking guys! lazy-ass-fatsos don’t count, they deserve to be insulted) .
You should be obsessed with things you like. They may make a ton of money (like in Vics case) or they won’t. But as long as you can make a living with things your are truly loving, you will be fine.
Happy Birthday, Uncle Vic.
Thanks Don.
Uncle Victor, Happy 33rd Birthday my man. Any number with 3 in it is a solid number, congrats to making it this far.
Awesome post as always I must say.
For some reason I was blocked when writing my earlier comment. There was nothing out of the ordinary about it, not sure why it happened.
Thanks for reading.
I hope to meet you one day Victor, all the best.
- Poyan
Thanks Poyan.
Hi Victor
Just wanted to say thanks for your latest article
Good content and enough edge to raise blood pressure
The posts were interesting to read as a result
Following your 30 days course , recommend to anyone wanting to sharpen their act
Simon
Thanks Simon.
Superb article Victor, and a belated happy birthday. Am sure you had a good one.
Also here’s to your continued success in SF
The spartan tshirt i wear [cheers btw] is a continued reminder of that guiding philosophy of putting in the work, and this year is mine to shine.
My only comment is that you need an intern to ruthlessly cull the comments section man. Am starting to notice a lot of whiney post creep up, particularly on the superdrive post.
I read some of them and i physically cringe at the type of questions they ask, i don’t know how you keep your patience man.
Anyways,
to your continued success Victor
Thank you.
“I read some of them and i physically cringe at the type of questions they ask, i don’t know how you keep your patience man.”
It’s all day and all night. What are you gonna do though….
Maybe you can help me with something. I’ve had your attitude for years, even more than literally. The problem is, I suffered a psychological burnout. And that wasn’t just once. Takes months to recover and it’s a hard thing to understand if you never been into one. All due to the fact that I forgot what relax means. Really. I was an workaholic, now I am lost in space. How do I start again to reach to that flow and mentality I had which is on the same verge on which you wrote this post, and how do I avoid the same mistakes?
Thanks, Mad.
I don’t know Mad, I don’t ever feel lost. I relax and never relax at the same time. I work from home, I have it set up for max comfort and there’s nothing I’m obligated to do. I just do what I want. What do you mean by mistakes you made?

Watching Chael Sonnen I see.
Vic, is “Body of a spartan” up to date with your weight lifting experience to this day? Sure the principle can’t change, but would you tweak anything? Thank you and all the best.
In BOAS I said bodybuilding was 90% steroids, 5% diet and 5% training. I would change that to 33% steroids, 33% diet and 33% training. BOAS is for naturals though, nothing else I would change.
Fucking awesome stuff, Happy Birthday king.
Big ups from Australia
Thanks Aaron.
Winston Churchill was fat* and smoked cigars. Great motivational work but just sayin’.
Hi Victor I am an Brazilian guy living at Brazil because that my English is bad but I am reading your web site since few months and it is really an open mind to me!!
I will complete 33 years old like you next month and especially about business and life style I am having a maturing express reading your website.
My mind is exploding in ideas and my business (that was just a hobbie for long years) is growing fast now!!
Oh man I think a lot of things exactly like you but I can’t speak because in my catholic country be humble is the standard and be honest is be a white man oppressor of woman and others races.
Congratulations man!! From Sao Paulo – Brazil
Forte abraço amigo!
Thanks Evangelistti.
Yes, business and yourself before family. Because if your business and your health is not top notch then your family will suffer from it. You have to be at your best.
To all of those who are asking about buying/pirating books, music, movies etc. to live a Spartan life.
Guys, public libraries are still in existence, and they have more stuff than ever. You legally get free books, dvds, cds, training, whatever you like, and the more you use it, the more funding they get. Most of them also provide a lot of e-content (ebooks/e-audiobooks/e-training etc). If you live in a larger community you can request them to buy materials and make it available for you. There’s a whole lot of services anyone can use from a public library, don’t waste the opportunity to save a ton of money.
Happy birthday … My big brother .. God bless you . I love you so much :-)
Hi Victor,
Some feedback about page loading…, it opens very slow from China. It takes 30+ sec for single page to load. Other pages like DP open just fine.
Mobile phone doesn’t load page at all. It always shows error. Some time ago it was fine, but since page got https instead of http it doesn’t open at all, at least not from here.
Perhaps an idea, you could develop m.boldanddetermined.com or mobile.boldanddetermined.com so those of us who (still) commute on subways to work for corporate masters, can peacefully develop Iposture haha.
thank you for making the greatest blog ever
glad I’m only 22 years old and discovered this website full of knowledge
oh yeah this is hands down one of your all time greatest posts(will be reading this everyday when I wake up)
Winners and losers, black and white, yes I get it…
I saw a movie about this guy a while ago. He had a boring office job but made lots of money almost without showing up. Then he had a hobby where not only he didn’t make a dime with it, but he shelled out loads of $$$$$ in it too. He liked to pimp up his car in his cave, make up his own gadgets and fight crime, mostly during nights. He was such a loser lol. Well, a guy who dresses up like a bat clearly has issues…
What I mean is: don’t expect that guy (I think his name was Bruce) to quit that loser life, move to Pattaya and become a blog artist like Vic. That’s only for winnerz, yup.
BELATED HAPPY BIRTHDAY Victor Pride!
This post was phenomenal. Thanks for your outstanding blog again!
I improving every day and I focus more on winning and winning.
I train daily tennis on court, almost every day 2 times a day sometimes over 6 hours a day and until some days I only done stretching nothing else. BUT to have the strongest, most efficient Serve I need strength training. So I just started it.
My question to you as a PRO for explosive power should I do bodyweight or weight training? I know you live the Spartan Lifestyle and prefer weight training and I my special case what you suggest?
My new system would look like:
4:00 AM Rise -> Train Strength Training + Yoga
Whole Morning -> train tennis hard / boost Regeneration with stretching/massage/cold water therapy
Mid + Late Afternoon -> train tennis / stretching
I care because of you from day to day even less on others opinions/thougts and what they say and FOCUS on my work / work habits. I have absolute nodaysoff.
I read only 3 asskicker blogs consistent and repeat/remind myself of the basics of WORKING HARD.
Thanks for your time and thoughts on it!
MAD
You should do both bodyweight and weight training for power. 100%.
do you now a specific training program out there who combines both that you would recommend me?
Jon, Southern Cali, 34, “work” in Finance
Vic, Happy B-day man.
Wish you were 53 so we could get 20 more ways to be great haha
Been reading these articles for 6 months. All during my worker bee 9-5 hours, feeling like a loser while I make outbound calls to the 1%, Wasting my time with the commission they give me as pay 100k big Fn deal. 50% money after taxes. Sad.
You are changing my life more than my family did growing up. Hard straight to the point facts. Why it’s taking me 34 years to get my act together??? Good question, because I didn’t have Uncle Vic growing up. Dreaming about entrepreneurship all my life, reading books, college classes bla bla bla, I was scared and didn’t actually DO IT. Now a few things in the works and will be quitting my jail oops sorry Job in a month. Clear head and happy to do so.
Probably heard this a few thousand times…. Thanks for the help, Took a quick 2 week trip to Thailand this past May for my Bday, have to give you credit for that too. Thanks brother if we ever cross paths in our successful lives (mine in the works) I’m going to give you a big bear hug NO homo. Haha jk na but I will shake your hand. Thank you Brother, keep killing it!!!
One of your B&D soldiers
Jon
Thanks Jon.
Today is exactly 4 years since I started following your blog.
Meanwhile I did career. drop career for my own business, almost went broke (wrong deal with wrong people) but for now my major baby have almost 700k $ turnover yearly.
I still think that internet based business can be addition rather than main source of income.
I still appreciate you more for your motivational speech rather than how-to-get-rich tips.
But I’m glad that you’re still walking your way. Keep it up.
PS Still waiting for part 2 of Gentleman’s guide to modern dating
Hey Victor, first time commenting on any of your articles, but I’ve read every single one of your articles. This has to be one of the best. I plan on reading it at least twice a week/whenever I need a kick in the ass.
You set me on my own path towards financial freedom, and I promise to achieve that goal. I’ve started my own site, and I’m excited to see where it goes.
Again, thanks,
Seth C.
Awesome blog, been reading it a while. When no-bullshit winners talk I listen.
My question is: what is your long term plan? At what point do you stop bouncing around the world and have kids?
I don’t bounce around the world. I never in my life lived like that. You guys ask me when I’m going to settle down, the answer is 5 years ago.
Sure, but what is your ultimate aim? What are you trying to reach?
You want to know my plans, watch Joe Rogan episode #599 with Shane Smith. Watch the whole thing.
Absolutely love this website - this blog in particular hit home.
I just launched a new law firm, created a kick ass website (and all of the fundamental social media accounts) and hired a virtual assistant from the phillipines. Do you have any idea as to how to best utilize her? I so far have her posting the company info in start up directories and legal directories. Appreciate all of your insight and advice.
Dave
Dave, I never had luck with VAs from Philippines, India, China etc. so can’t say how to use her, but have one tip. Hire an native english speaking expat to be your VA. No problems with language barrier and they can work much, much cheaper. Post ads on craigslist Bangkok, Saigon, Medellin etc to find one.
Also, Filipinas work at a much slower pace than Americans, it’s infuriating to me.
Victor,
Thanks for this insight - I have taken your advice and am now waiting to see how it turns out…..
Stay well.
Dave
hmm..but I think the 9-5ers who work at Goldman Sachs, Blackstone, Google or Facebook make good money, or at least some of the higher ranking employees. I think the executives of fortune 500 companies, who work 9-5, do alright. Same for doctors, high profile lawyers, etc. If you’re making more money with a 9-5 job than an entrepreneur who slaves away 12-20 hours a day for months and years, taking on debt for little in return, you’re winning. If the goal is to make money, which is a good goal, entrepreneurship may not always be the best approach. It’s one of many.
Let me comment about that. Victor might not (or fully) agree but here is insight from somebody, who is somewhat directly connected to one of these companies, you mentioned.
Bottom workers grind, day to day, month to month, year to year.
But having director, AVP/VP/SVP position or above is definitely a game changer.
From here and up, nobody checks your work timing, as long as you bring results. Indeed, some high ranking managers don’t show up to work for days and no, for certain they are not on business trip. They either “work” from home, or simply take free time to pursue their interests. That being said, it is expected that you bring in results.
As for career/owned business… I know some high ranking managers, who sold their businesses and switch to corporate career (high management) as it was less time consuming. Millions $ businesses in some cases. On the other hand, several high managers with high compensation packages invest in small businesses or have side gigs, like consulting, making more money than 90% of small business owners.
So, if you are in high management position, or think could be there soon, don’t just jump into opening small shop, making living from day to day.
That being said, if you are stuck in some low paid corporate job, without promotion to be the boss some day soon, run for hills, risk and open your business.
Haha. Love you. You’re like Gary Vaynerchuk (check him!) meets Arnold Schwarzenegger meets George Carlin…recipe for the win.. xD
Let me ask you a loser question though, I’m really curious on how you see it: what would you do in life if you had 100 million dollars? (how much is enough? or, if you don’t do what you do now for money, doesn’t it mean it’s a hobby? or at least an interest..)
Don’t hesitate to be frank, I won’t be offended (as if you needed a permission.. ;))
I wouldn’t do anything different.
Vic, you always say not to have a 9-5 job, but what if that 9-5 is within the realm of engineering, computer science, Medicine, etc? Is it still bad to have a 9-5 in one of those fields if you have a genuine love for it? Those jobs pay well and people that work in those fields typically like their jobs.
When I say 9-5 job what I’m really talking about is useless paper-pushing office jobs.
Oh ok. So you do advocate getting a 9-5 if it is within a STEM field?
I’m not advocating anything.
Since when did you become a freemason?
Everyone can be a success at the life you propose if the definition of success is ‘the unbridled pursuit of self-interest’. Thankfully, civilised man rejects this coarse form of Randian Objectivism as a freefall into hell. Civilisation depends on people who are ready, willing and able to empty themselves for the sake of others.
Sheol is on fire. Encouraging others to parachute into it while flying the plane is where pride will take you every time.
I enjoy immensely your summary articles, they are my absolute preferred ones. I was in vacation around the world for sometime so I haven’t had the opportunity to congratulate you. Keep up the excellent work and I hope B&D becomes even more successful.
Hey Victor I made notes again and I think you had a type error at Point 2: Strive to be the best.
The last sentence:
If you can dream it you can achieve it and it you don’t believe that then you ain’t the best at anything.
=
If you can dream it you can achieve it and -> IF it <- or do I understand it false?
You are the best blogger! Thanks for this amazing bluebrint.
MAD
Thanks pal, fixed.
goddamn vic, you had a fucked up childhood. you will never be happy, because you will always be chasing the next thing.
look, i understand where you’re coming from, but i know it comes from a place of deep insecurity that can never be fixed
Every hater always has one thing in common: a poor grasp of the english language. How could you figure out life if you can’t figure out caps at the beginning and periods at the end.
It never fails. Every single one of your articles get me absolutely, 100% amped. I didn’t know a single thing about exercising. I didn’t know you can make money outside of working for the man. I couldn’t see past the weekend. Bold and Determined is a diamond in a world of plastic and I thank you for creating it. 30Dod and BOAS are gold. You write amazing, inspiring and (most of all) actionable content.
Again, thanks a lot, Victor and happy late 33rd. Can’t wait for more words of wisdom.
Joel
Thank you Joel.
This is the best article of 2015!! Congrats Victor for your hard work!! You rock!
I had to do it, you’re living a Thug Life like this image: https://infotomb.com/lpw8g.jpg
All the best Sir!
hahahaha!
All I see are 33 principles to foster excellence in men and human beings. Your style is original, straight-forward, and powerful. Perfect supplement to the 30 Days of Discipline (Day 3 here-body and mind are poppin).
Cold showers are the best.
Victor your work has inspired me to become a better person. Ive been reading your blog for about a year now. Especially about leaving the 9-5 prison lifestyle. Anyways I just bought hosting through you and plan on starting a blog that helps men as well. Ive saved money and am leaving to southeast asia this winter. Its either ALL or NOTHING!
I truely believe men need more role models in their lives. And I think you do a good job at that. I will also be working make other peoples lives better, like you have. All the while being MY OWN BOSS.
Thanks for the inspiration throughout the years!
Angelo
Another great post Guru Vic . Encouraging Men to embrace that masculine warrior spirit instead of sucking tits and crying . Which is what big brother government want.
Keep up the good work
Victor, blantantly, this is not up to your usual standards of work. I appreciate your blog, and I am a long time reader. One thing you preach is that actionable advice is the only useful advice. However, much of this is not actionable. I am sure we would all like to read about how to be ahead of our time, because clearly we are not already. Inaction-able advice is worthless, and much of this post is inaction able. Don’t get so full of yourself that you lose your standard of work.
-Daniel
Hi Daniel, here’s one piece of advice you can take action on right away: kiss my ass. After you kiss my ass don’t come back here. Hey, that’s two! Have a nice day.
I can’t stand these kinds of people. If you need someone to give you specific instructions, you need a boss, not a mentor.
very inspirational sir???
this…
Business never sleeps, money never sleeps, serious men never quit – but 9-5ers quit every day of their lives.
Exactly. I’m sitting here Sunday night 7:41pm working on sales funnels. Built 2 successful biz already while everyone cries about their job I get up and goto the gym every morning while these whiners get on the train with such a sad look…. onto number 3 and 4.
I am going to die one day that is a given. I am going to make sure all of my time here was fucking worth it.
On another note. Dude.
Raloxifene 60mg 90days. got that shit right out of here. Had it for over a year after 3 months- gone.
Say exactly what you want and stop wasting people’s time.
Right now I wrote this Quote in my own way on the wall =
I say exactly what I want and stop wasting my energy and time.
thanks again! Everytime I read this I remind myself again that Tennis = business and business = WAR.
Thanks!
Hi, you’re right about cities attracting a certain energy. I moved from Prague to Brno in the Czech Republic to improve my Czech, but I didn’t count on being in such a different world. Am getting out now - lesson learnt. People here “think poor” if you know what I mean. They might not even work a full week, then complain about not having anything. Well, they’re not capitalist, and they don’t know how to make money.
Thanks to you, Mike and Chris for being truthful muthafuckas about what goes into building your body as a man. Every other fitness website in existence posts bullshit about doing this and that while completely skirting around the exogenous hormones issue. If a man can lie about that in full view of the public only God knows what skeletons are in his closet.
Only men can show what they have been through and how they reached their level and be 100% honest about it. Much respect
You’re the fucking man.
I’ve been doing some of these, but I realized I was being a lazy piece of shit. Now it’s time to pop a vyvanse and do this plus thirty days of discipline.
Awesome article man. This is inspiring stuff. Do yo ever reread our own post for for inspiration?
Wow Vic, You always fire me up. I feel pumped and ready for anything. as always great post. Now I must tell those future winners about your article as well.
It’s always a pleasure to read your pieces again and again. A morning coffee with B&D is a perfect match.
Keep it up man, one of the best post so far.
Nice article. # 13 is right on the money for improving anyone’s life. Being overtly selfish and focusing on your own wants and needs certainly gives you the abundance mentality.
I love you.
Your blogs are addicting. So far I’ve purchased three books and a bottle of Anafuse and will be owning a domain name. I also enjoy reading haters comments and knowing they have cry baby tears.
SoldierForLife. Xaver Bishop
This is what Jesus should have said ca. 2000 years ago…then people would have been all over that shit. Regardless, these are the facts of our time.
Directly as a result of this blog, Im leaving my finance job at the end of August and am devoting every living waking hour to being in a band, in which im the frontman.
Will it be easy? Fuck no.
Will I have any ‘free time’? Never liked that shit anyway.
Will I feel alive? Well…that’s an uncontested ‘yes’. I played a gig three weeks ago on one hour of sleep and I still felt more happy than doing anything else with 8 hours under my belt.
Thanks Uncle Vic.
1) Obsession is key to success
AND
6) There are no days off
Absolutely fucking true! I’m obsessed with the numbers on my blog ticking up. I can’t rest. It’s the best drug I’ve ever found. Yesterday I didn’t write because I was helping to clean an old lady’s house, which would have been a good day of work in the past, but now I couldn’t stop thinking about new things I wanted to write. It’s an addiction, but it’s for something that’s actually productive.
It’s incredible how easy it is to be motivated if you’re chasing a dream…. if you’re obsessed.
I love your articles. I want my lil brother to check out your site. He’s always talking about businesses. Investing in his own business. This is the type of motivations that he needs. As a female I feel highly motivated by your articles. I simply cannot stop reading. Anyways back to my brother. I don’t talk to him, we’re giving each other silent treatment right now.I have no idea how to get him to come across this site.
Thanks so much for posting such an inspiring article ,, Im pretty sure youre gonna be one of the first i will invite to see my website :D
You, as always Vic, are very inspiring. You are also a geat teacher as well.
Honestly the sad thing I realized from this is that the 1% is only around 6 hundred thousand.
Ah, here we are…
I suppose I was looking at an article in which comments were disabled. Moving along!
This is one of your most value-dense posts yet. HBD, by the way bud…
This article comes neck in neck with the 18 Things, 18 Year Olds post, IMO.
That article was one of the biggest turning points for my life in that it opened my eyes to far more favorable possibilities. I discovered it a year ago, at 20, which still has left sufficient time to take advantage. It snapped me out of years of programming from parents, influences of the normals, and overall U.S.A. mentality alone. I know have a first hand worldly perspective. I’m eternally grateful for the knowledge contained inside, especially the tip of college not guaranteeing money.
From that point, I jumped head first into researching, learning, growing, educating myself and taking action to make the location independence a reality.
I worked two 40 hour jobs to get as much cash as possible, read at literally any break longer than a minute, sold the car, and packed everything in a bag and headed for Chiang Mai.
That wasn’t even a year ago, and I’ve since sold the first business I created for cash to build what I really wanted, I’ve invested that capital into another business along the lines of what I like, and am working on my life purpose and bringing that to the world.
If it wasn’t for that article, I could still be in my dorm room pretending to be successful, talking to similar friends who were digging themselves into debt and obscurity.
Now my friends are all young hungry entrepreneurs traveling, building businesses, and leading our generation. It’s safe to say I’ve upped my 5.
It’s articles like these that resonate with the path I’m on now, because before I was looking up to these options as what I wanted; now I am excited they’re mine and only growing rapidly from here!
Some quotes I vibe with:
Why it’s hard for me to sleep oftentimes:
“You become the best because you stay awake all night in bed fucking dreaming and plotting about being the best.”
When I miss some of my aimless college buddies:
“You’re either ahead of the game and leading the pack or you’re playing catch up and competing for scraps with all the other retards who didn’t envision the future.”
Why I’ve decided everything I want is mine:
“Get your mind right and everything else will follow.”
Thank you brother
This is some next level wisdom. Your post just became my daily digest. Thanks for inspiring!
Holy shit! Thank you for slapping my stupid face. Your right, all I have to do is stop fucking myself over.
I have a problem is that, i dont work much hard and feels lazy in i happened to get some money.. I was unable to overcome still.. This 30+ points was really hard me to do so,but i will do.. :) great and motivating one.. ;)
Have a great weekend buddy :)
Yo Vic,
I found a major ripoff of this article…it’s unbelievable…check it out…

The only thing worse than having copycats would be not having any copycats.
F.U. Victor you f’ing piece of shit with your phony macho persona —living in f’ng Vietnam-keep taking the steroids and talking your shit to your adolescent brain dead audience.
Thanks for the love and support Dino.
This is the shit right there, nothing motivates your more than hearing a truly successful man talk about his achievements. Makes you want to get off your ass and actually go do something productive and worthwhile with your life.
You’re the man Victor.
Victor,
This post is a pure gold.
Hey Vic you rarely post anymore, you should post more often, this blog is still better than any others; your writing is concise and highly motivating!
Anyways maybe you’re really busy or are trying to post as little as possible but I have $195 on a card right now I’d be willing to give you if you’ve ever considered a pay-per-post/yr or subscription type of deal. I’m sure others would pay for more often content.
p.s I do get that you started this blog to get away from earning on a per hour basis.
Right on bro! I’ve known about your website for a very long time and always come back from time to time for a kick up the ass. I believe I was 21-22 when I started reading and now ‘m 25. I’ve accomplished a lot of my fitness goals, business goals, and achieved a lot more than I ever thought I would. And I still have a LOT to do.
Frankly, if I had listened to what everyone else was saying and been a good little sheep, I would have never made it this far. It takes way more than I thought it would… late nights at the computer, reading books while everyone my age is out partying, not drinking because I have gym, eating healthier and in general just exercising my mind, body, and soul… there were also restless nights I could barely sleep because I wanted to put in that little extra bit of effort.
Point blank, you’ll never make it if you don’t go the extra mile - and you tell everyone exactly what entails of that “extra mile” in this post.
Straight classic.
- Phero Joe
“Unfortunately, I do get some of their retardation on me during my commute and I could only imagine how awful it would be to live in a small retard town permanently.”
Fucking lol.
I agree with majority of this article Vic.
At this point in my life not all of it, but 93%.
Nice one.
Hey, Victor, how would you find dropship suppliers for product? Have you ever done this?
Lots of emailing and cold calling. Simple as that. Put in the time, do the work, reap the rewards.
Thanks for the quick reply. Another quick question: would you google search to find suppliers or is that a sure fire way to find scammers?
This is the best article I’ve read a long time ago, Cheers buddy and don’t give up your good work.
-Steven
Hey I read your blogs a lot and think you should make an app. It’d make my morning reads easier and it’d be nice to have an app for easier access to your content. Consider
Vic,
I’ve been reading your content on and off since June 2015, and I have to say at first I was skeptical, but now that I am in my first year University, I am realizing everything you say is precisely true. Stumbled upon this article today, and I am even more impressed. I just started Body of a Spartan this week, and i’m looking forward to the results. Thinking of trying 30 Days of Discipline soon also.
Thanks for the motivation and the guidelines, and here’s to changing my life.
Thanks Vic,
Kurt

This article has been very unique, and personal for me. I would not be able to use this article, before making a mental and physical transformation in my life. The Bold and Determined Model really is going from A to B in the straight line. All of the information is here on this site. I do believe readers need to start from the beginning with an aggressive, and obsessive desire to change their lives for the better. Pride is NOT something that happens in a day, but over a lifetime of conquering. Thank you for this article. Looking forward to the future here at B&D.
Hi Victor
Under #17 you say hatred and anger can be used positively as fuel
However, the book you also recommend here, Think and Grow Rich, states that hatred and anger are two of the negative emotions that must be shut off from the mind because they cannot coexist with the positive emotions required for a success mindset.
Can you expand on this subject a little?
A matter of conflicting opinions, I assume.
I can’t speak for Vic, but as for myself: I can, have, and continue to use these emotions positively. If you hate your job, you have a strong reason to change it.
You can choose to allow that hatred to spur you into action.
You can also choose to do nothing, but allow it to fester and consume you.
You can choose to snuff that little flame of hatred and accept your life as is. After all, you’re lucky to even have a job, right?
I’m also prone to the negative side of anger or hatred. The flame description is apt. It’s like fire: You can heat your home, or burn it down. The flame doesn’t care either way.
Top 1% global income is ~35k/year. Do you use numbers as a way of hyperbole to get your message across or actually intend them to be taken literally?
Uncle Vic,
Just picked-up a copy of Urijah Faber’s book. Holy shit you are so right. This is gold! I’m 30 pages into it and I can’t stop reading it. It’s not the typical fighter autobiography where a fighter tells you about his fights. This is inspiring stuff. Also makes me think “What’s my passion?”. Thank you for recommending it.
-Norbs
No problem Norbs, very glad you decided to read this very underrated book!
Nothing in this article should be taken lightly. I’ve spent the last 2 years working on my business and reading 2-3 hours a day. I’ve read the autobiographies, biographies and stories of the richest, most successful and most powerful men on earth and it all comes down to one thing….
Work.
Warren Buffett reads 8 hours a day while the average chump never picks up a book after they squeeze out of college.
John D. Rockefeller worked a half day on the day of his wedding.
Bill Gates has said he didn’t take a day off from the time he was 20 to the time he was 30.
I watched my brother work 14 hours a day for 5 straight years to be able to make a million dollars a month regularly.
Yet how many punkasses can’t wait for the weekend?
The world won’t reward you unless you have a skill that you do better than anyone else. Fuck multi-tasking, fuck productivity tools.
Put your ass in the fucking chair and grind it the fuck out. Don’t date, don’t drink, don’t do anything that doesn’t involve work. Any whiners can go back to work for the man.
Me? I live my fucking life like it’s got a finite countdown on it. Why? Because it fucking does. Preparing to join the French Foreign Legion before my 39th b-day in two years. Why? Because if I hear one more motherfucker tell me that having a wife and kids and a fucking mortgage is something to be proud of, I’ll fucking blow my head off.
Vic, as always, love your posts. They’re inspirational as fuck!
The rest of you, shut the fuck up and get your ass in the chair.
I fucking love your work Vic, You’ve taught me what it means to truly strong and it scares me to think what i would be like now had i not found B&D all those years ago
Its hilarious to see how many losers have blatantly ripped off your work while at the same time trying to discredit all you have accomplished.
Here’s one such poser i found [redacted] when looking for this post, this dude has got no fucking idea
Keep killin it Vic
I remember him clearly, always commenting here and worshipping me. Wish him all the best.
I didnt quite understand this, if you want girlfriend dont date?
I mean sometimes you have to get at least coffee to get laid right?
Hi Victor,
I must say with all honesty that this is THE BEST post on your blog. I am not just saying this but it’s spot on what needs to be done. There is simply no beating around the bush here.
In fact, whenever I need to do any work that is online-based, I have this post pinned to the left for quick reference whenever I need a little kick to get moving.
If it isn’t much, could you please edit this blog to leave a blank line between each of the 33 tips because I often find it difficult to find the tip I needed. Separating each of the points would make it a lot more easier to navigate across. Maybe others might also be having a similar issue.
Sincerely,
- Shyam M
Hi Victor,
I must say, this is pure gold!
I have been reading up this one particular article over and over again, and I keep realizing how true every single point is. I initially disregarded some of the points as being rather too extreme, like for example on how you need to focus entirely on business, even if it comes at the cost of family and friends. But I am finding that it is all true. There is simply no way you can focus on family and friends AND business at the same time. I find that the more time I spend with the former, the less time I have for the latter. Business is too demanding of your attention to focus on anything else.
Keep up the good work!
- Shyam M
Hi Vic!
You know, I read this one particular article over and over again at least a few times a week and this one particular sentence cracks me up almost all the time …
“When you have money on the line you don’t have time to sit on the beach like an asshole.”
- Shyam
You know Vic,
I have read and re-read this post because it so beautiful. It kicks you right in the teeth. I love it.
Leon.

I couldn’t agree more! I live in a small village with a lot of retards.
