What time did you wake up this morning?
What was the first thing you thought about this morning?
What was the last thing you thought about before you went to bed last night?
Did you spend your evening watching TV?
Did you go out to eat and drink last night?
Have you cut down your expenses to the bare minimum?
Do you keep buying things on credit?
Do you live within your means, above your means, or below your means?
What one thing did you do today to further your business?
What one thing did you do yesterday to further your business?
What one thing will you do tomorrow, and the day after, and the day after, and the day after to further your business?
Do you read everything about your industry that you can get your hands on?
Do you spend your time living vicariously through other entrepreneurs and not doing any work?
Are you on internet forums picking the brains of successful people in your industry?
Do you think you can actually start a business working 4 hours per week?
Do you work on your business on your lunch break from your job?
Do you waste time with your going-nowhere friends trying to come up with ideas for a business?
How many daily phone calls do you make regarding your business?
How many e-mails do you send every day regarding your business?
Are you content with your 9-5 job or do you feel contempt for your 9-5 job?
Are you just playing? Are you just bullshitting? It's ok if you are.
All you have to do is quit pretending to be an entrepreneur. If you're going to quit anyway, there is no better time to quit than right now.
Get rid of the heartbreak and hassle of starting your own business, you can go to work for someone else and live for the weekends.
Just say the words “I quit” and you'll never again wonder why you can't get your business off the ground.

I read this post a few hours ago. I immediately got up, turned on the shower to ice cold and got in. I sucked in a lot of water by reflex and coughed it up in shock.
You know what? After 5 seconds of shock and ‘pain’ it wasn’t so bad, once I started continuing was very much bearable. It was the most efficient shower I’ve ever had though, 2 minutes and a good head scrub. I also screamed ‘balls’ a hundred odd times.
I’m pissed off Vic, in the last 3 months I’ve got results, but not all the results I wanted. I am disgusted with my lack of progress in some areas, my business being a major one. Everything I’ve done in the last month could have been done in a solid 6 day week of effort.
I’ve made a new 3 month plan using evernote and set goals for each week. In two months time my application will be finished. In 3 months time I will have 6 users and everything will be fully tested. Then I will be ready to quit my job and sell, sell, sell.
Sorry to ramble, but to demonstrate just how much I want it here’s what just happened to me. After my shower I took a walk along an old trail near my house. After 20 minutes I came to a storm drain which I’ve crawled into before. If you crawl in after 20 meters you come to an open area with two levels, there’s a good 2 meter long ledge, more than enough space to pitch a swag. There’s no evidence of the spot ever being washed with water, there’s no spiders and only fresh water from the mountain occasionally flows through the bottom.
A determined man, could quit his job, sleep in there during the night, walk for an hour to the University, use the $20 a week gym every morning and shower/shave, spend $50 a week on a cheese and salami diet with the occasional steak on a public bbq and work all day, everyday in the University library with free Internet and no student card required. Hell, you can use a locker to keep your laptop/valuables safe. I could afford to do it for YEARS with my savings.
Just how bold and determined are you?
For now, I’ll keep working my 25 hours a week job with the 20 minute commute time and saving a few hundred a week for a rainy day. There’s no reason I can’t put in at least 30 hours a week on my business, although living in a sewer and having nothing to do after you’ve woke up but head to the gym could really get me going.
But it’s got me thinking ‘just how bad do I want it?’ so I’ve cut my goals for the next 3 months down from 9, to just 3. My software goal, my weights goal and my elimination diet goal (dairy/gluten/etc make me lethargic).
I’m not quitting, I’m starting.
Russ,
I’m glad you are starting. Can’t say I’d be excited about, or even consider, living in a sewer but we gotta do what we gotta do. I’ve often thought of purchasing an RV and living in it. I’ve often thought of camping out each night under the stars in a new area, but that’s for another time.
Good luck and keep me posted.
Cheers to you! I to have been a slack ass..
Everyday I question my self. Back in the 80’s I ran and worked as a sub contractor. Thats all I know. I cant stand working for a boss but in saying that I dont do either. My business! I have setup everything but wont push it out.
I have found every excuse to divert away from what i need to do.
So today i saw this! Yes straight to the point..
I started to clean my office out..what a mess. The shower bit well not sure if I needed to do that but these words kicked my butt.
I realized my fear of rejection has gotten in the road of progress. Good luck
Your site kicks ass. My plan: learning html to increase my marketable skills and starting my website before Jan. 1st. Keep lifting heavy, eating right, and get my shit together so I can live life on my own terms when I graduate from college this year.
Fox,
Plan looks solid to me. You’re starting young too, you’re in an excellent position.
Read most of your site and it’s really good advice and even sometimes funny too. Ross makes a good point… Do we really need to create a business in order to be happy? I mean a person could probably live not too badly with something like 16-24 hours workweeks maybe?
Nah, not everyone is an entrepreneur or wants to be. I think if you have to work then 20 hr workweeks are ideal. But I don’t know where you find such a thing and I don’t know one that pays any money. Except for maybe firefighting.
i’m quitting my job by the end of the month! its time to pay all my attention to growing and expanding my tee shirt business!
its funny thats the only thing i do that really gives me joy!
thanks victor!
Hey Victor it’s Dylan we’ve been in contact. Thank you for all the stuff you post it really shows ppl what they can do if they just go out and make life give what they want. I am doing your 30 Days of Discipline, registered with BADNET, and am building my blog as well as my website daily. I use my blog to offer value and then use my main site as a home page and when I have the products it will be used to SELL them. I’m glad I found your blog while I was 20 so that I can start kicking-ass young.
Your friend,
Dylan Madden

Thanks

Mr. Pride,
As usual your work is a punch in my gut. I haven’t made any phone calls to anyone, I don’t send any emails regarding my blog, and I hate my 9-5 job, and I’m still slacking. Thanks for the fire.
