Subj: Drillin’ and killin’ your way to the top
——————
Do you know how professional fighters learn how to fight?
It’s a 2 part process:
- They show up to the gym every single day to practice
- They drill the moves every day until the moves become instinct
In other words, they show up, they do the work and eventually they get really good at fighting.
The training is hard, time consuming, grueling and painful. But eventually fighting becomes easy, it becomes 2nd nature, it becomes a skill that they will always have.
If they train hard enough, put in enough time, stay disciplined and have enough natural talent you know what usually happens?
They get an opportunity to fight for big bucks and they get rich overnight. Then they make more and more money. They have an avalanche of success. The smart ones take the money they make from fighting and invest in their post-fight careers.
If you want to get good at something - good enough to get paid big bucks - then you do the same thing that pro fighters do - you show up and you do the work. It’s really as simple as that.
You don’t take “sick days”, you don’t show up sporadically, you don’t half ass it and you don’t give up.
You do the work, you get great, then you get paid.
But…
I have some good news and I have some bad news:
Bad news: It’s going to take years to get what you want. Your overnight success could take 10 years or more.
Good news: Most people are quitters and will never stick with anything. If you simply stick with it you will end up in the top 1% of all people on earth. The spoils of war only go to those who stick it out. Quitters are left with scraps and that’s all they deserve.
Too bad for the quitters right? I won’t pretend to care. Not everyone can live a life of choice and I don’t want everyone to be able to live like me. If everyone lived like me no one would serve me coffee or do my laundry.
The quitters can live poor with their limited choices. The winners can live well with their limitless choices.
You’ll never hear winners complaining about “unfairness” because winners make their own luck.
Losers complain all the time about unfairness, inequality, privilege and other nonsense but they aren’t winners, they aren’t go-getters, they didn’t put in the work so fuck them.
A lot of these losers believe they deserve massive success just because they have a “passion” for it or just because someone else has success.
You don’t deserve anything just because you have a passion for it. Passion without action is for daydreaming retards. Passion means nothing. Passion is a buzzword that broke, struggling entrepreneurs use to justify their laziness.
Here’s the deal…
You want it? You go work for it and then you get it.
If you don’t work for it, fuck you, you don’t get it. End of story. Passion or not.
The reality is that you can have almost anything you want if you put in the time and effort. You want something? Show up and drill it ’til you get it right. Then keep doing it. Drill it until you kill it.
Routine and discipline, boys. That’s how you get good at something, good enough to get paid for it. Just like the fighters I told you about.
You know what you become when you have discipline, routine and commitment? You become the 1%. The 1% of people who are achievers and not daydreamers.
You know how I built a body good enough to make money from? I went to the gym and got after it, day in and day out. Nearly 7 years after stepping foot into the gym I started making money from my physique.
You know how I built a website good enough to make money from? I did the work, I spent my time, I didn’t quit. I spent years as an entrepreneur learning and making money. Then I started Bold and Determined, I kept at it, I didn’t make a dime the first year, at the two year mark I made a nice livable income, now after the three year mark I make more than 99% of people on earth.
I get emails from these guys working these nasty jobs under fluorescent lights for shit pay wondering how they can get out of hell. I’ve already explained dozens of times but let’s recap…
Here’s how you get out of hell (9-5 jobs):
- Realize that you’re a useful idiot getting butt-fucked by the system.
- Say to yourself “I sure am tired of getting butt-fucked by the system. I’d like to try my luck on my own and see what I’m really made of: grit or gutlessness”.
- Quit your job like I did (when you have a suitable replacement) and work like a damn dog to get what you want (drill it until you can kill it). A normal job is 8 hours, that gives you another 8 hours per day to drill and prepare to quit your job.
- After you’ve put in the work, after you’ve drilled for a few years you should be making a nice income and you can finally relax. You’ll reach a point where money keeps coming in whether you are working hard or sipping lemon tea by the pool.
Personally, I don’t struggle at all, not a bit. I can’t stress this enough - my life as an entrepreneur is easy and I make so much more money than I EVER made as an employee.
In two months I make more money as an entrepreneur than I ever made in an entire year as an employee. In my previous career I made two years worth of income in one single day.
What makes me so special?
I put in the work, I wanted it and I did my time. I drilled over and over. That’s it. Now I can do whatever I want. The other day I was going to write a “day in the life” piece but my day was so comically lazy I never wrote it, but I’ll share the timeline here:
5am - Wake up
5:20am - 6am - Conference call with my new web hosting affiliate
6:10am - 6:50am - Cardio on the recumbent bicycle
7am - 7:10am - Shit, shower, shave
7:30am - 11am - Dealt with Thai immigration
11:45am - 1:30pm - Went to the shopping mall to eat Sushi and play guitars at the music store
2pm - 3pm - Had briefing with my web assistant about the days business affairs
3pm - Had some Kratom tea brewed for me to help me relax after such a hectic day
3:45pm - 3:47pm - Retired to the bedroom to have quality time with little miss Pride
4pm - Realized this was such a lazy day there’s no point in writing about it
I’m able to have lazy days any day of the week because I am reaping the rewards of work I did years ago. Please don’t mistake my lazy day for me doing nothing, I did the work required to get me from point A to point B and I don’t have some stupid job getting in the way of doing what I want or need to do.
What about you?
“I can’t quit my job! I have to struggle to provide for my family!“
I know a lot of you men have families and mouths to feed and are reluctant to quit a steady paycheck (and some of you even pretend that struggling to pay the bills is righteous and noble).
I got three things to say to that:
- When you struggle it’s more fun for them to butt-fuck you. They love to keep you struggling enough so that you don’t have any options.
- It’s easier to feed your family when you have an avalanche of money coming in. Much easier than “scraping by” and “barely managing” like the average Joe. A normal job will keep your options scarce, a winners “job” will keep your options abundant.
- There is no honor in struggling to feed your family. Your family will appreciate you as a man who took the bull by the horns, not as the gutless man who “struggled” and got butt-fucked by a corporation in cahoots with the tax looting government.
When you have money it’s easy to feed your family. Struggling sucks. I’ve been on both sides. I much prefer being able to provide for myself and little miss Pride without having to struggle, or even having to think about the price of foods and services. If I were only “scraping by” and making “ends meet” you can bet I’d be working around the clock until the situation was fixed.
Below is a video of champion fighter Georges St. Pierre talking about how he is able to provide for his family because his avalanche of wealth came in after years and years of showing up and drilling and not giving up. Now his family never has to worry about money for the rest of their lives.
“I said I want you to clear all the debt. And I don’t want my parent(s) to pay any more debt for the rest of their life. Never again.” -GSP
Imagine the feeling of clearing all the debt in one afternoon.
I did it before and believe me it was fantastic. An avalanche came in and I wrote a few checks and cleared my debt forever. Poof. Debt is gone and I’m free.
You can do the same if you’re made of grit and not gutlessness.
All it takes is a switch being flipped…
- My life is mine, I’ll live it properly
- I’ll put in my time, I won’t quit
- I’ll wake up everyday at 5am for years to get my avalanche
- I won’t give in, I won’t “settle”
- I won’t get butt-fucked for a paycheck
- I’ll do exactly what my dad did when I was a little kid - I’ll laugh in the face of anyone who thinks they can give me grief
- I’ll keep drillin’ and killin’ for as long as it takes
- I’ll do what it takes
It took me 6 years to go from being broke as a joke to literally not having to worry or think about money.
My money went up and down like an elevator during most of that time but now it’s just an escalator, steadily going up. 6 years is nothing, I’d do it again even if it took me 12 years. Better than the alternative.
But what if you’re too young or too old?
Nonsense.
I know some young guns making loot and I know some old dogs making loot. It’s never too late to start and it’s never too early to start, as long as you start now.
It’s just a choice you make, bud. That’s all it is. Grit or gutlessness. Discipline or aimlessness. Do or die. Sink or swim. What’s your choice?
Until next time.
Your man,
-Victor Pride
PS - I enjoy meeting and networking with like minded people. I’m always looking for opportunities and I’m preparing to expand the operation enormously. You got the ideas, you got the time, you got the grit, you drop me a line and we’ll talk.

First to comment.
Time well spent, Dave.
Fantastic!
Well said…
Greg
First to comment before sebastian and I haven’t even read the post yet.
If I recall correctly Sebastian usually reads the posts and offers insights, encouragement and positivity. A nice asset to a comment board.
I know I’m only messing. I enjoy reading Sebastian’s comments.
Unfortunately Sebastian is offline. Don’t know why. Wrote some mails to him but he is not available anymore (we have a similar background here in Germany). Last I knew was that he traveled Eastern Europe.
Anyone knows what happened? I really enjoyed his posts - like Vic’s, too..
Hope is ok.
Business wasn’t doing well. Writing about self-improvement in this situation would be a fraud. Will come back when I’ve turned things around.
@Vic
Tremendous article. Read it three times!
“A man can only be beaten in two ways: if he gives up or he dies” Richard Machowicz
I’ve experienced some nasty shit since I quit 9-5. Sick, mugged, two failed businesses. Sounds terrible, but it isn’t. Life goes on. Getting up early and putting in the work doesn’t require prefect circumstances.
That’s too bad buddy, but don’t let it make you give up.
Reminds me of the words of Trevor Hendy the ironman; “conditions are always perfect”. When he’d turn up to race in pounding surf or gale force winds and every other contender was contemplating the reasons why they’d lose he’d tell himself “conditions are perfect”. With six Australian titles, three second places and four Uncle Toby’s series, there’s something in his approach.
Excellent Advice Thanks Victor.
Great article Vic. Just starting out my business day and this fired me up even more. I just opened up my own auto repair shop the first of this month and I’m working day and night to get my avalanche of success. I’m breaking even this month and it’s all because I put in the work every day to get new clients and because of 30 days of discipline. Thanks for the advice Vic.
Victor, you never fail to impress and inspire. Reading this article reminded me of an article I wrote a couple weeks ago covering my 11 Rules for Competitive Success (Probably because of all the competitive fighters you got in this article).
My #1 rule is you’ve got to adopt the winner’s mindset. You’ve got to wake up hungry and go to bed hungry. Everyday you have to be immersed in your training. Passion is part of it, but in the end it’s like you said, grit and determination is what sees you through.
My #3 rule (right under optimizing your diet) is Training with Purpose. Going into the gym without a plan is a sure-fire way to failure…just like in life.
My views are steadily climbing despite the fact I’ve done little to no active advertising. My next steps are to start making it a profitable venture and begin working on an e-book so I can escape the 9-5 jive.
“3:45pm – 3:47pm – Retired to the bedroom to have quality time with little miss Pride”
HAHAHA good one! ;)
great post as always.
Yeah laughed at that as well hehe.
Ironically it is just little actions that you have to do everyday to get better. Going to the gym is actually not hard at all but you have to be consistent with it and do it as often as possible and that is what makes it hard for most people. The small daily actions are simple enough but hard to keep up.
Successful people are not cut from a different cloth they have just mastered consistency.
I constantly find myself suddenly slacking off and with no drive to get back on the horse and then its great to have someone else kick you in the ass and make you start again. Thanks for the read Vic, its been a long time coming but it shows in quality.
I didn’t think I would have the opportunity to be be the first to comment on that. Maybe it’s a matter of quality over quantity? Haha
Efficiency! What else … lol
“Most people are quitters and will never stick with anything. If you simply stick with it you will end up in the top 1% of all people on earth. The spoils of war only go to those who stick it out. Quitters are left with scraps and that’s all they deserve.”
I’ve always said that literally the only way you can fail is by giving up. Even if you don’t achieve what you have in mind for the end goal, by continually progressing towards that goal, you have succeeded. True happiness is not found in ultimate success, but in progress.
I love this mindset. For the first time in my business, I’m actually living by these words.
I’ve been dealing with manufacturers for a line of products in China. They’ve been giving me the runaround. Usually I’d change my niche and start over, satisfied with my measly “effort”. I could have given up so many times already. But this time it’s different. What I’ve found is that with enough effort, a new solution always presents itself. The impossible becomes possible. I’ll make the damn products here in Canada if I have to, they’re getting made.
This mindset also helped me gain 20lbs+ of muscle this year. It’s the greatest feeling ever. Walking around catching glances from all the girlies. Victor was right :D
Once you develop the trust in yourself to put in the work, your goals become no longer “if” but “when”.
One thing’s for sure though, very few people have what it takes to get this shit done.
A couple weeks ago I convinced my flatmate to come to the gym with me. He was totally into it. Bought over $100 worth of supplements. He only lasted 3 sessions in the gym. He “couldn’t afford the membership” - $50/mo. Whatever. Nothing will keep me out of the gym.
Even in the gym, I barely see any men putting soul into their workouts. If your face looks completely fine during the workout, you might wanna turn it up a notch. You’re already paying for the damn membership, and spending your valuable time there. Did you think this was supposed to be easy?
Man these blog posts are a work of art.Victor pride you have my respect and admiration.Your blog posts have awakened me and showed me the truth.I’m 17 and i have to say as a young MAN its good to know i have a chance of making it because i know the truth and i know i NEED to put in the WORK and have DISCIPLINE/DEDICATION.Thank you Mr.Pride.
BTW - why only 2min with Ms.Pride?
Always an inspiration..! Thanks for the insight Vic. Your articles are the reason I had the balls to escape the 9-5 slave shift and make my own living with an online business. It still hasn’t gotten off the ground yet but it’s making steady progress and it feels amazing knowing I’m forging my own way versus getting fucked in the ass by soulless big business as a retail drone.
Cheers,
Scott
Vic,
What “brand” of guitars are you playing when you fool around at the music store?
I’d like to think the music stores there would have some great Japan made Ibanez guitars.
If you haven’t played an Ibanez I would recommend trying it out. They have thin, fast necks, with great action. Throw a Seymour Duncan invader pickup in one and you have a metal/rock monster.
-winning-
No, they have knockoff Thai ibanez, forget the name, it’s something like albanez, and they have some knock off les pauls. I’ve owned a few ibanez’s before, I still have one in storage in the states. At the shop I was playing a barracuda (surely not available outside of Thailand) acoustic/electric bass, old strings, sounded dull when played acoustic but sounded pretty good plugged in. I forget the knockoff name of the electric guitar I was playing, the bottom end was there but the pinch harmonics just weren’t there, not very responsive. I’ve got a barracuda acoustic at home it actually sounds pretty good with some elixir strings. Only cost about 90 bucks too.
Hey Victor. I was wondering about the music you do, or did. You mentioned you wanted to be a musician years ago. I’m a musician and I was curious about your musical background. And great article, the tone of your writing always gets me motivated.
Cheers.
Heavy metal buddy.
I can picture you as a heavy metal rock star victor, rockin on stage with the big guns and tank top lol
Timely advice. Not because I’m young, or because I’m old. Timely, because its right now. And I read it today. So the only question left is, will I be the 99% and read it, enjoy it, comment on it, and wait for the next post?
Or will I embrace it, digest it, make it a part of my life, and become part of the 1%. I have excuses. I’m old. I’m fat. I’m remarried. I have a lot of children. I pay child support. I’ve been at the same job for decades.
If I came to myself for advice what would I say? Just give up? Why don’t you just die already? What have I told others that have come to me for advice? What do I tell my sons?
I tell them all to tighten up. Read Pride’s blog. Understand that what they have to do today is because of what they didn’t do yesterday. And what they do tomorrow will be an extension of what they do or don’t do today; good or bad.
I lost $400,000 in my divorce. Two decades of my life turned to shit. I’ve wallowed. I’ve whined. I’ve made excuses. I took the red pill 5 months ago. And every day it’s a struggle to face the reality of my life, but every day the possibility of what my work can turn it into becomes clearer.
So here I am, like a cripple who is healed but then still afraid to run. I’m changing my diet. I’m changing my mindset. I’m working out, getting stronger. All with the distractions of kids, job, wife, and life’s larger responsibilities.
To you youngin’s, under 40, unmarried, childless. Go for it. Do it now. Don’t delay. Do it today. To you older ones, full of excuses. All I have to say is, you can make excuses, or you can make results. Guess which one gets you ahead?
I have a 5 year plan. It’s timed with the end of my child support, retirement from my job. Internet business success. Debt elimination.
There are a lot of you out there, just like me, or God bless you, even worse off. You aren’t young, or free, or even feel anything is possible. Get off your ass and do something about your sorry, pathetic, life.
If the grass always seems to be greener in someone else’s yard, then it’s time to weed, fertilize, water, and mow. Have the best looking yard in the neighborhood!! As soon as I get my yard in shape, I’ll tell you how you can too! It’s just a matter of a little more time, and a whole lot more work.
Go fuck shit up. You’ve wasted enough time of your life.
Luckily, it truly is never too late.
Been there GreyWolf…only been a few years now after divorce but making strides to get back on top…I lost over 500k but it’s the Bold and Determination I have that drives me ever day…hang in there buddy!
Greg
Thanks Greg.
While making strides and driving every day, remember why you are where you are, and how you can keep it from happening to you again.
Like Miki said, “Go fuck shit up!”
Im tired of getting butt fucked by the system. From this day forward I’m going to be doing the butt fucking.
Thanks Vic
Victor,
Great piece. It’s simple to break the chains. And you provide all the specifics on your blog and books. The greatest challenge for me has been finding the product/service that I can profit by while I sleep. And after many years of chasing it and dumping 40K on people to help me build THE great product I realized:
1) I’m the only one able to materialize my vision and it’s only possible by drilling it everyday, shipping it, and doing it again. This means working every single moment that is possible and not listening to the unsolicited advice of “finding balance” and “establishing priorities” that losers and girlfriends love to give. I let them walk and I stand proud, alone, with nothing. When things go tough I think of an injured beast that never gives up.
2) I have a big chance of killing it by making as many above-average products as possible instead trying to make the ONE, the next big thing. The average person loves the story of a wild success. The little boy who made a million dollars with one app. People get inspired by this nonsense and they make one crappy app and publish it and wait and wait and if they’re lucky they make 0.10 cents. The winning formula is called Little Bets. Drill it until you ship it, once it’s out there have a beer and forget about it, next please, drill it until you ship it, rinse and repeat. My first product is chugging up the distribution lines of Amazon and other publishers. But I’m not sitting around hoping to get rich. I’m already pushing the second product, and I have three more in the making. Rinse and repeat.
Apart from the discipline, it’s tough to find the product/service that you can profit by. But if you drill it everyday and get into the spartan mentality you will see it. Just like the pro fighter, who in a fraction of a second sees the tiny opening through which he lands the wildest kick anyone has seen.
Best.
Say to yourself “I sure am tired of getting butt-fucked by the system. I’d like to try my luck on my own and see what I’m really made of: grit or gutlessness”
That right there is worth it’s weight in gold.
Moral of the story is to stop getting butt-fucked and start butt-fucking!!!
Interesting that you made a reference to the ‘useful idiot’. Most people here probably don’t know the full background story of that famous quote and what kind of people it describes (it’s usually attributed to Lenin). One meets lots of useful idiots around and about in daily life…
“If you don’t work for it, fuck you, you don’t get it. End of story. Passion or not.”
that pretty sums up what you need to do. Great reminder; when you doubt, come back at this post and read it again and again until you realize buttfuck hurts.
Great writing Vic
I think one issue with drilling is that people think nothing is happening and you know what? nothing can be further from the truth.
The truth is that drilling builds up this instinct, this sixth sense that separates you from the pros and the beginners.
I started reading investment books when i was 14 after being inspired by the richest man in babylon to accumulate assets. I remembered that whenever i could skip school, i would go down to the nearest library or bookstore to read about anything on investing.
I continue that as a hobby as i was fascinated and i like looking at different assets and understanding them.
I thought nothing was happening back then.I didn’t feel different, i just felt the same, maybe with more knowledge and a bit more understanding. But i was dead wrong.
I continued that . When i was 18, i realised what all that drilling time had given me. I made my first investment during the financial crisis, when everyone was panicking, i somehow knew it was the right time to buy, i bought and i made a killing just 3 months later. i continued that winning streak up till today. Funny thing is that i wanted to quit drilling on my skill as i wanted to focus on my govt job and my girlfriend who hated my tendency to invest my excess cash.
When we broke up and i got fired from my job, after a short sabbatical sobbing and all. i made a determination like how i did when i was 14, i will continue my drilling to be the world’s best asset accumulator.
I am now back, stronger and more determined than ever to be more skilled in investing. It’s my baby and i wanna be even better at it. I wanna drill and drill and drill everyday. I did it and today, i am still drilling. It is the first thing i do when i wake up and the last thing i do before i sleep.
I got a mentor that told me this, you can win me if you focus on your skills every day, going on it, if you are running everyday, eventually you can catch up with the people who are ahead of you in the beginning (people who started early) but you know why you cant surpass me? Because i too, wont stop becoming better.
Keep drilling people!
Love seeing this stuff pop up in my inbox. I’m 19 years old, reading and learning about how to run my life so I don’t get caught up in this money-for-time shit that everyone is in.
The best thing you’ve taught me Victor is that anyone can do this if they have the drive and consistency. I used to doubt myself in most areas of life, and as a result nothing was done. I never thought I could succeed as an entrepreneur but with your guidance I have it instilled in my head that I can achieve anything if I put the work in.
Good job and a kickass read.
Damn your words are always the best…keep it going my friend….
There is something incredible about routine.
Instead of looking at it as boring, look at it like you’re laying the foundations for your castle. A few hours of writing in the morning, a few hours listening to audiobooks during your commute, a few hours in the gym after work.
All these bricks are getting built up to make the most spectacular fortress the world has ever seen.
It all adds up and it will make you into a great Man. You just have to find the joy in your daily routine, which will make the journey so amazing that you almost don’t notice that you reached your destination of quitting your job.
Vic you have a great way of saying it honestly, cutting through all the guru hype and bullshit on ‘brand new make money online methods!’. It’s funny how it always comes down to just focusing on the fundamentals.
~ Aaron
That’s an excellent analogy about routine…they’re the bricks to building your fortress…love it! I really need to work on my discipline to wake up at 5:30 each morning to spend some time writing without distraction. Curse that snooze button!
“The wise win before they fight, while the ignorant fight to win.”

Preparation is everything. Deciding what to do. You can’t execute until you know the path. Then it’s effortless.
really needed this. I am trying to be financially independent, i am 19 years old but i don’t want to depend on my parents. So started looking for some writing jobs, failing miserably but still trying. This post was the much needed boost.
Thank You Sir. Love from India
Vic
do you think it is possible to become a professional poker player with dedication and effort? I would like to make at least 10k USD a month with max 20h of play per week (time without studying).
I am playing profitably now but I think I can push it way better with more time working on my game.
Any comments appreciated.
TY
Of course. Thailand notoriously has a ton a pro poker players living here.
I randomly met a professional poker player once and asked him that very question.
I asked him if he thought it was a natural talent you had to have or if it was a skill you could learn like any other.
With no hesitation he said it was a skill to be learned. He said two years of learning is what you need to put in.
Month 10 of drilling and killing. Already making $1,000.00 a month with MenProvement, com.
Excited for what that figure will be at the 6 year mark.
Everything in this article is spot on.
Quitting paid of! Good to hear Sean!
Thanks brother!
Boom. Excellent work.
You say you get up at 5am. When do you go to bed? Do you have any particular hour or just go when feeling sleepy? How many hours of sleep do you get on average? I’m just curious. Thanks.
I think in a previous post he said he’s in bed around 9PM.
9 every night on the button we retire to the bedroom for my nightly massage. When that’s finished we go to sleep.
Vic, I gotta say you’re on to something. I went to bed last night at 9AM and woke up at 5:30….going to work it down to 5 soon. For the first time in a long time I wasn’t waking up and rushing off to work. I was able to get a mile walk in this morning, cook some breakfast and have a leisurely morning while still making it in to work early. Going to do the same tomorrow but try to get up earlier so I can write before work as well.
When I was getting up at 5am for 30 Days of Discipline, those were the best and most productive days of my life. That morning sunshine is essential. It changed me into a morning person.
I’m sick at the moment, but as soon as I’m better I’m back on the 5am wagon.
Indeed, 5am is the best.
Auuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu Bold and Determinded i am Wolf… bitch!
Just do It:

Victor how do you make money using your body? Great post btw…
body of spartan
Hasn’t he been featured in one jillian Michaels’ video as well?
;-)
I don’t know about that. the biggest loser thing?
Thanks for all the work, Victor.
I wish the best for you, seriously. Best regards from Brasil.
By the way, the trainer of Fedor Emelyanenko (the best MMA fight of all times that is on the main picture of the post) said, that Fedor has never had anything special and unique, that has helped him to be the best in the world. The only thing that has brought Fedor to success is an every day hard training. No luck and natural talent, but blood, sweat and hard work.
Yeah! Routine, discipline and never give up, your right, this is the way the warriors!
Me to, I learned first with body-building.
Add to that a sane objective, some strategy and give priority to priorities and on day you will control your own empire! Like Vic said, thanks to “normal people” you can be dumb and fail a countless amount of time, with that formula you are still going to end up elevating yourself over the mass because 99% of people will abandoned after 3 weeks.
Oh yeah, and don’t forget to read Vic’s last post to keep the motivation high!
Indeed. Hard work and dedication and the will to win got him a near 10 year undefeated streak and made him one of the most iconic MMA fighters of all time. His younger brother Aleksander had more talent but liked to drink and play and not train hard and never got anywhere. http://youtu.be/DV59ccmBHc4
I miss Pride. Always liked Pride’s rules and the boxing ring better than the octagon.
Tate, I agree. Pride was great.
His brother Alexander is in jail now.
Nowadays Fedor is giving awesome MMA training seminars all over the Russia, in Moscow as well. It would be greate if you visit one of them.

I’m russian and i want to say that i have spread your ass-kicking ideas among my friends and they are saying thanks for you, Victor. Once you have sent me your two flawless books in russian and they have changed my life and lifes of my friends completely.
Thanks you again, Vic, for inspiration, motivation and eye-opening posts.
I’ll make my way to Russia one day. If Fedor is giving a seminar you can bet I won’t miss it.
It would be great! Make me know when you are planning to visit Russia, i can be your free translator if you need one.

This is quite relevant that you are relating your lessons to fighting, considering on July 12th, I have my first fight in an organization that has a professional league. This means that I have the opportunity to be paid to fight if I start destroying my opponents. Just recently, I’ve got my first ever sponsor too!
Dealing with Thai immigration for that extended period of time must be a little frustrating. Victor, what is your verdict on the Kratom? For me personally, regardless of how I tried dosing it, I would get dizzy, an upset stomach, and an elevated heart rate. However, I know that many people who have tried it over at GLL have found that it has dramatically improved their lives.
Best of luck to you in your upcoming fight! My site is dedicated specifically competitive martial arts. Drop by sometime and see if there’s anything that can help you (still a relatively new site, but I’m trying to put out at least 2 articles a week). Also, I’d love to do a weekly post where I address specific questions, so if you got any questions/issues send me a PM.
Thai immigration sucks. But I’ve found a way around it for the next 15 months (money). The Kratom I like, it calms me down, makes me happier and makes me nicer. Oh ya, I wanna read about that fight after it happens.
I’ll send you a video of it once I destroy my opponent.
I’m following your website so post it there if you can.
Good one. You always get what you are willing to put into it.
“The vast majority of people in this world have convinced themselves that they are incapable of achieving greatness, so they aim for average. When I became aware of this, it changed my perception of life completely. The fiercest competition lies not at the top, but rather on the plane of mediocrity.”
cheers
So today I needed some sleep in the afternoon and I had a dream with Victor in it. No, no homo. We were at a small restaurant and there were two nice ladies there. And two Victor Pride: one taller and pretty serious and a shorter one, more relaxed and funny. We took the ladies out to… somewhere, I don’t know where, but the Victors were as I imagine them: cool, on their feet, not needy and you could see that the ladies knew it. I can’t remember anything else but it was pretty interesting and I think uplifting in a way.
what the hell
I walked from my corporate job last summer with absolutely no backup plan and nothing but “killing” on the mind.
Everyone told me I’m an idiot.
I now have my own business and started a blog, with an e-book coming in a few days.
It’s great being an idiot.
You got it man. Social norms are built to kill personal initiatives. Everybody is so stuck into this paradigm through which bad TV, shitty commercials and opulent consumerism are sipped throughout the day; that no one ought to say “fuck” and leave. This system is so pervasive that it really takes guts to move out. But this is also when you put your pant on and show the world who you are. I recall this one:
“What this means, to fuck the world, is that you’re penetrating the world with your personality. This means you’re penetrating the world with your authentic self, with who you are. When you do that, you can’t be shy. You can’t be timid, you can’t be fearful. This means that, to penetrate the world, that means you’re sharing your gifts.”
Here here. Our names combined would make a great cartoon villain team or something…
Haha Riz, same here. No one came out and called me an idiot but you can read between the lines in how they react. Turns out that right after I left the company, they started laying people off.
My good friend who worked at the same company just recently got laid off in a 3rd round of layoffs. Dude is married, has a house in the suburbs, and a kid on the way. Sounds like the perfect time to show him this article.
Victor, you’re the man. If i had a sister i would offer her to you.
Good stuff Vic.
Showing up + consistent massive action always leads to results (for some it may take longer than others) yet so few are willing to endure it.
This is one of your best articles to date. So many people are quitters. My site has been up for a year and 3 months. During that time I’ve had numerous associates start a blog or something and quit less than 3 months later. People have to realize that things take time.
Great post!
reminds me of the book the THE MILLIONAIRE FASTLANE:
Crack the Code To Wealth and Live Rich for a Life time..
Great book, but I’m sure MJ wouldn’t write about butt-fucking as much as me.
Victor, I’m just curious, how much do you actually make a year from all your various business endeavors? I’ve been around the site for awhile and I like the motivational and bodybuilding material that you put out. I know you live in Asia where the cost of living is considerably lower than living in a big city in the US, so your expenses will be naturally lower and you probably live like a king over there. I know you’re not obligated by any means to release your financial information, but I’m curious if it would be considered “rich” here in a big city in the United States.
Great post as always, keep it up!
What are you, the tax man? I make more than 99% of people in the world. Low cost of living helps me keep it.
Straight up and to the point though I will say that while there is no damn doubt you have to toil, you do get a little trickle during that toil. It’s not enough water to quench your thirst but it keeps your eye on the prize. I think back to 2012 when I first came across this site. I knew what I wanted but had no fuckin idea how to get it. 2013 was a fuckin toil. Shit job after shit job, barely make the rent, come home and work on ideas for weeks: day in and day out only to find out after wasting hundreds of hours that the shit isn’t going to work. Back to the drawing board. Get a little, lose a little. A little something works, use that money to build something bigger until I come up with an idea that sells a dozen items in a day. “Fuck yeah I’m onto something!” Work, screw up, work some more. More sales, work more, more sales, now I’m poised on some crazy distribution from a madman supplier who’s a marketing genius and a hellacious businessman (in a good way). That little drip, drip, drip from the fate faucet is starting to move into a bead of water. The real lesson is not to relax once you get a little, but to pour on the fire, work fucking harder, like widening a gap in a water dam. Don’t stop until that shit pours down on you so hard you can’t believe it. Like an opponent against the ropes, when their arms start to drop you don’t stop, you beat ‘em harder.
Much like the span of these posts Vic haha, got a bunch of thirsty wolves snapping for the B&D teat.
Much love to ya man, keep it up!
Boom, great comment.
this is your best article Vic , ive been reading your blog for the last 12 months . I recently got back from Thailand and what an awesome place , trained in the gyms there……. fuck it was hot but I loved it , I got back to Sydney airport and felt depressed when I arrived back home ,it was cold and everyone was depressed and they looked like zombies ..while I was in my shorts , red bull singlet and thongs !
Ive started another business 1 year ago and its bringing in cash flow , being hitting the gym daily and increased my strength 40% in one year , Ive put on 8 kilos of muscle . I went from a skinny a bitch to quite muscular where I had to buy new pants and shirts , and I regularly get comments ..hey big fella ! same as one of your previous blogs you write in , Im working may arse off to become financially independent , you’ve really improved my mindset and opened my mind up to a world of possibilities .
I look at the world in a different way and I would like to thank you for your blog , this blog is one of the best things that has actually improved my life , ive read over 100 books and I can say you are unique , you cut the fat and tell it how it is , im in Thailand in 3 months and would love to do a gym session with you and shout you lunch and some beers . thanks vic your a legend 100% respect to you brother, also I sent you an email about a gym in Bangkok and you responded straight away ..thanks for your help mark
Send me a message in 3 months time.
“6:10am – 6:50am – Cardio on the recumbent bicycle”
Ahem. Cardio.
That confused me as well. I thought Vic said he didn’t do cardio; let alone 40 minutes worth.
2 minutes hahahaha
Hi Vic,
This is the type of articles that makes me come back on your blog, its well written and I think for those seeking motivation it will be a kick in the butt.
I agree 100% with you about quitters and those that that never do anything to change their life.
What I dont understand is that even after all the masterpieces you have written they are still so many guys out there that still havent try to build some side business online or something, all they do is reading and commenting.
I will never get those passive people, giving away control over their life.
I been writting many articles on my blog about making money online/offline, some methods are extremely easy and FREE to apply, so if any of you guys need so ideas or directions on how to start making money online just check me out! No more excuses!
Great work Vic as usual.
PS: Im still waiting for the part3 of your podcast with GLL… any updates about it?
“PS: Im still waiting for the part3 of your podcast with GLL… any updates about it?”
You know what, we had a real lukewarm response to that episode I posted here so we never followed up. We didn’t get any requests or questions for the next episode. What would you like to hear about?
Lukewarm really?? Damn, episode 2 was amazing for me because Im more into the business insights, and on that episode #2 Chris GLL was giving some deep insights about his business structures etc so I was hoping that in episode #3 you will give more insights about your business.. especially about being abroad and incorporate your company offshore etc stuffs like that would be amazing because that what Im looking to do one day, so hearing from you will be cool.
But whatever is the episode #3 you guys should released it, Im sure more guys are waiting for it but maybe they just dont bother asking.
Yeah, I’ll second this request. I was looking forward to hearing more specifics about business practices. That being said even if it was you guys shooting the shit, I’d still enjoy it.
Third.
fourth…………loved it!!!
Or maybe just a solo Q&A podcast with posters leaving questions and Victor takes the best ones and reads them etc…
I would love to hear another interview/chat with GLL. I think the business aspects you delved into were very interesting. And it’s also very motivating to hear from two men who already live lives of choice.
Hi Vic! I once read here about a book about which is the role of the man in a relationship or something like that, but i can’t find it again… what was the title?
Dunno, could have been the married man sex life primer.
Bullseye! Thanks man!
You have reminded me about work ethic. That it’s not all passion, but work ethic as well!
Jordan
Two years ago I remember you saying in an article that political correctness is for the morally weak!
So if someone does not want to be politically correct in my opinion should watch the documentary on this website
http://thegreatestbootlegneversold.tv/
Food for thought!
Victor I thought cardio was useless so why do you do it anyway? u are already pretty lean too.
gotta think about the heart too man
There’s 3 general types of cardio. I only recommend 2 types since the third is inefficient and ultimately kills strength gains.
1)Sprints - While not technically cardio in the conventional sense, it has a lot of the same benefits of cardio and then some.
2)Moderate-high intensity steady-state cardio - This is the crap you see everyone doing on the treadmills and ellipticals at the gyms. This gives you moderate cardiovascular benefits, but pumps a lot of cortisol into your system. Not to mention in wears on your joints if you’re doing it day in and day out.
3)Long, slow cardio - This is great for burning calories without the cortisol dump. Think leisurely bike ride or walk in the park.
To sweat.
Victor you should write about how to get rid of all the bills and keep most of your money in the usa especially when it comes to your food and rent bill here. Food is getting more expensive in the states and the quality is getting worse. You should also write about the truth on organic vs inorganic foods and what to buy and how to be a smart food shopper.
Hey Victor. Long time reader, I comment here and there. I’m thinking about starting up a site as a salesman trainer. Just want to know if your hosting deal is something I should look into. I want my website to have my name in it and look professional. Money is kind of tight, but I think the cheapest plan should be sufficient, right? Thanks a bunch and keep up the good work!!
Yeah, of course. Your site can look pro for $4-7 per month I think is the going rate over there for the smallest plan.
George St. Pierre - what a top notch dude!
This article is spot on !! I work in the forest products industry, here in eastern North America and I personally know of many self made men who have built empires large, small and medium. To a T every one of them starts their day early, works their fuckin ass off, is consistent and doesn’t settle for mediocrity. I know one man who was born into a poverty stricken family of twelve in northern Quebec. At the age of 12 they emigrated over the border into northern Maine, not knowing the language, living in a tent encampment and taking whatever work they could get. Today that same guy is a Titan in the industry- 300 + trucks, over a dozen mills, large landholdings etc. Some say he got to where he is at by being ruthless, I’d have to say he got there through doggedness, hunger and shrewd street smarts. I read articles like this and see guys like I just mentioned and it drives me to keep moving, hustling and never give up - even when the odds are against me!
This post fired me up. Seems that consistency is key. I started a blog recently. Anyone that follows b&d is welcome.
Hi Victor, did you ever perhaps stumble upon page of AngryHarry? I’m not affiliated with it in any way, just wondering, he’s been around quite some time, I have read his articles years ago. Sharp and edgy.
Never heard of him ’til just now.
You’ve got a way with words Vic.
I’ve been telling a lot of people recently that success is a process not an event. Most people only see the event or the “avalanche of success” as Vic puts it. They miss the hours, months, years, of hard work, pain, suffering and want to skip straight to the end, to the event.
The process is what it’s all about. The process is what makes you who you are. The process is what ultimately leads to the avalanche.
Great stuff. As the old saying goes, “It takes 20 years to make an overnight success”. I believe persistence is the most important ingredient of all.
You say you worked on B&D for a year without making a dime, but you didn’t get discouraged one bit. That right there is why you are where you are today.
You deserve all the success you get, and keep the quality straight-talking, cold-water-in-the-face content coming. You inspire the real no-nonsense action-takers out there, so keep doing what you do mate.
Victor do you practice mma or any type of fighting style? I know that you are jacked but do you know how to defend yourself? I read your old post about saying that mma should be the best of form of fighting to take to learn how to defend yourself so I wanted to know if you practice what you preach….
I used to train BJJ with Carlos Machado but that was approximately 12 millions years ago and I’ve forgotten everything. Last time I rolled with someone I did the same thing I did when I was 10 years old, I got him in a headlock until he said uncle. Sometimes if I manage the heat I’ll find a local gym and go train MMA there but typically it’s a bunch of fat/half gay thai guys that don’t provide much resistance and it’s like training with a ragdoll. Also, my cardio has become terrible living in pollution city and fighting is the hardest thing you can do. I enjoy it, but I don’t train regularly. If I were 18 again or 15 I might very well train full time with the intent to make it a mini-career. In re: self defense I’m simply not worried one bit, believe me it’s a great advantage being bigger and wildly stronger than everyone.
LOL.. Like George Foreman once said:” I like being the biggest guy in the ring”! I was going into my building the other day and this really thin guy sees me and moves to the side and says “excuse me, sir.” I was not even close to him yet… I am NOT saying that to be a moron and mean to people. For what you put out negatively will come back at you. I am saying that just in an observing kind of way.
Back in junior high and high school days or even past that, once the reputation got sent out you could fight or were getting bigger, even the kids who were “tough” and you might not have even liked suddenly are your friends or give you the old handshake as you walk by. If you were smaller? They would have been laughing and harassing.. way it is. America would have LONG been taken over if not for military power. That is a lesson in life for the every day man in being prepared no matter how old you are. Former Heavyweight champion Jack Dempsey once knocked out two muggers trying rob him as he was getting into a cab. Jack was in his 80’s at the time!
It is interesting how when you are big, people stay da fak out of your way. With my over 90kg body weight in muscles, I haven’t had any problems in years. It happened once in a bar, where me and my friend were sitting with some girls and group of “toughs” was sitting at adjacent table, that one of them started conversation to have conversation with one of “our” girls. All fine, but after awhile he pushed my hand, tried to get into close. I pushed it back immediately, hard and gave him killer look. I would jump on him or any of his friend without hesitation. He moved it back humbly. People will leave you alone when you have balls unless they have some very good reason. Wannabes will attack weaker.
I noticed another thing, when I see big people, or trained people like me, I subconsciously or consciously show them respect. I know they are not some weak asses and they know the same for me, and I get respect back. Even people who look for troubles will leave you alone, since they think “yes maybe I/we can beat him, but maybe we will have to pick our teeth after fight, lets find some easier target”.
As for MMA vs. body weight (muscles). I trained quite several years, when younger, both submission MA and strike MA, best is if you have combination of both :). When it comes to (street) fight strike MA is somewhat one of the most important, sure not if you are skinny or fatso, but if you have at least some muscles you can beat guys. I am confident enough that I can beat bigger people than me quite simple. But when it comes to close fight or submission (take it on the ground) or when another person don’t know how to strike, then nothing beats body weight. That is why martial arts championships are categorized by body weight at first place ;)
I enjoyed reading this post! I needed that extra motivation at the moment. But Victor, I need your opinion on something. How do you feel about social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)? Do you feel that it could hinder our progress
in creating a business & living that life? I’ve come to realize that by having all that shit, I tend to check into it too Damn much. I read somewhere that said, “If you want to be successful, you have to stop doing things that everybody else is doing.” Im thinking about deleting all that shit & doing your 30 days to Discipline program. What do you think?
You answered your own question.
Facebook. by and large, is worthless crap for people to stroke their egos on. No one cares you ate pizza for lunch today or you’re watching the basketball game. I’ve dropped that useless social media along with cable and have been happier ever since.
Cut out the shit and get shit done.
You’re the man for that statement! I agree with you 100%. I woke up this morning with that shit on my mind! I was say to myself, “I don’t need to try to impress these people.” Everybody on there is doing the exact same thing in life, working a dead end job. Im trying to get out of that life! Everybody is promoting other peoples products making other people rich but themselves. Fuck that shit!
Spoken like a man. I agree Jacob.
Drillin’ and killin’. Another great post.
Great article.. Has me flying on a cloud. No way can I turn back. I already cut back on my hours at the plantation( the office). Also managed to switch a good amount of those hours to home as well while I work on the internet biz. The TRUE money maker. I saw this guy I know and he was “surprised” to not see me at the job and instead saw me on the street. I told him what I was doing by cutting back my hours at “work” and started making money on the net with an aim to make a ton. His response: Sounds like you don’t want to work a job but want to live a dream. I said to him: Steve, we are nothing but slaves and zombies. This as his stupid tie was basically choking him. Tried to explain to the slave-bot about the internet and the concept of being free. All he could talk about were bills. He was actually getting nervous the more I talked to him of freedom and the FACT that life will end pretty soon. I don’t care if it ends in 30-50 years or for many much sooner. Over the span of existence that is a JOKE! He basically had to get away from me as I said adios and told him to enjoy slavery. A person with useless comments to me. A fart in the wind as former baseball player Mike Piazza once said.. LOL…
Can anyone really blame women for wanting winners? Really? Victor woke me up to that and to STOP blaming women for wanting a guy who provides and protects. That is their NATURE. Just as guys will always be attracted to good looking women and usually go the extra mile. It is by nature. Life can be a beautiful thing when you stop fighting what is by nature.Stop swinging at windmills. A total waste.
I have a friend of mine in the middle of a divorce. He is now traveling 4 hours to work back and forth. Plus the 9 he has to do at the plantation office. That is 13 hours OWNED! Then you throw in the hour or two just trying to get your act together when you get home only to go back to the slave-bot nightmare hours later begging for saturday night. Then back on the train with other zombies right out of “Night of the Living Dead.” What a horrible way to live. No wonder so many people age so badly. Is this what GOD created us for? To laugh at stupid jokes from some cheese ball boss or to be stuck in an office doing things you mostly don’t care about while people gossip about things totally worthless?
There is no going back for me. I am at the point I would rather die than go back. The line has been drawn. I would rather live in a trailer shooting for success as my own boss man than live in an average house or apartment with ZERO shot waiting for 65 or 67 to retire.. Who says you are going to make it to that age? I used to hear morons at work who were like 35 years old saying ” I can’t wait to retire and go fishing in my 60’s.” That guy just threw away 30 years of his life!
I live in a big city. I know how the “routine” can take you over if you don’t watch it. Overall I have had some good jobs on paper. I hated all of them. Every one of them. I always looked at it like my time was being stolen. Hated commuting. I actually get excited now as I see the the slaves going one way in their cars and me the other way with NO traffic!
Nah, I love freedom. I love it. And though this era we live in is messed up in many ways, there is no disputing we are in the middle of a new industrial revolution with the internet that can free tons of people from massa slave bosses and mindless and expensive commutes being stuck in a stupid building for 8-9 hours. That is gold in itself! I plan to be free of the remaining hours at the “job” in less than a year. If it is a bit more than that,. so be it. But like victor says in the article, whatever it takes and that is that. Once you get in the zone to NEVER go back to the old life, that is that. You become a different person. A more solid one. A better man.
I will continue to workout for 3-4 days per week for life till I fall over. I will continue to eat high protein meals and high dense food for life. Also till I fall over. No going back. Ever.
I am a handsome guy. Not as good looking as Victor but good looking. But with me I can get chubby if I don’t watch it. Thus, just like with being your own boss, I AM taking control of my body and getting more and more looks from women and nods of respect from guys because I am getting stronger and it shows. No damned excuses for why I can’t go to the gym. Just show up and hit it.
Take back the life that was stolen, Take back the horse crap lies that spending a ton on college will get you a “good job.” Please. I know tons of people who went to great colleges dropping crazy money and they or their kids have average or NO jobs! Beauty gets you further than the stupid degree if you are a woman. Notice what Fox News hires or countless law offices? Spare me.
A great article speaking on the inner CORE of human beings! I am taking back my inner core that was rotting on the meat hook for too long. And guess what? I am feeling pretty darn good about it. Just wait till another year or so of making more and more bread off the net and taking ALL of my freedom back! Outstanding article once again Victor! Kudos!
Great comment, even got me fired up.
Quite frankly I hope you make 100 million dollars. What is learning how to get your mind and inner core back worth? To me it is priceless! I used to watch all of those money gurus and by the end of it I was dipping back into my cheese doodles totally confused and bored and depressed again. The reason? They almost could never speak to the inner being or how to speak PLAIN in your face lingo. Of those guys I found only Dave Ramsey could do it to a good degree. You speak to ALL of it.. The A to Z plan.. Covers it all. Most people live in quiet desperation. But when you get the chance for the jail break out, one better take it! Thank you for giving many of us a TRUE shot at a second life!
Great comment Bob and so true.
I liked the great comment, until I read “Not as good looking as Victor but good looking.” Come on man, wheres the confidence in yourself??
Ahh brother, you are a man after my own heart. I have many of the same sentiments and thought the same thoughts ever since I too left the Plantation. God speed on your journey!!
Thank you Bear- I wish you the best as well and for CLEAR vision in life at all times… I truly wish everyone here to get on the proper path as Victor has done. Because TICK TOCK the clock goes. Time stops for NO Man or Woman. It’s a horrible feeling to be “owned” and wait for Saturday night to temporarily “save” you.. NO, EVERY day should be great filled with exploration and freedom! And this era through the net especially gives it like no other to get away from the slave master’s whip..
I wish you Bob! Victor and all of these great bro,s success. Guys like all of us are still few and far between. We make up a very small percentage of ass kickers. Vic said there is enough room at the top for those with the will. I agree. Let’s kick ass.
Thank you man.I totally agree with your comment Intense Apex…. When I walk around now or go shopping I view it all so different now. I see people STUCK in jobs just doing their time. Go to a supermarket and see the vacant eyes just getting through the day. Been there done that. See homeless or close to homeless people or even just regular people grabbing bottles for their little 5 cent deposits. See angry people getting up earlier than they wish to do something they hate doing. Those who are happy doing what they do? GOD Bless them. It sure makes the day and life a lot easier.
I laughed once when a guy said to victor: Gee you wouldn’t be living that life if you were in the States? Who gives a flying crap? If I am living on mars and happy and free that is all I want then. If my inner being is cool then I too am cool.
Plus the cold hard facts as stated on Bold and Determined: Victor is now in the top 1% of earners. I have ZERO doubt Victor will be a multi millionaire. NONE. I have no idea what he is worth now and that is his business BUT do you realize Vic is still a young man? With the way he has figured out life to make bucks along with expanding while spending less, it is a CAN’T MISS situation. Most people just never had the guts to do what he did or even thought of it or were too tied up shall we say. And going back to the situation about living in another country as some sort of reason to hate on victor is silly.. But think of this, if he wants in due time, Victor can live in America EASILY and afford it far better than most ever could. Imagine where a 40 or 45 or even 50 year old Victor Pride will be financially compared to virtually every single American citizen?? WAY ahead of the game. Again, not even saying he wants to do that. Just an example is all. In the end FREEDOM is the issue, Not stupid ego.
I used to be a net hog and go on tons of sites wasting too much time. Now, I literally go on just a few with Bold and Determined obviously being one of the big guns..Nothing can beat a site that speaks of your financial freedom, your body, your mental health back, an eating plan that for me saves BIG bucks and an end to frustration in the ridiculous thought process where I :”had” to have very different( and sometimes way too expensive) foods. I think my mindset has changed forever and that is a GREAT thing.
I remember some years back I got a computer with a $75 dollar rebate. When the time came for the $75 dollar rebate to be collected from the computer company, I got the old run around. One sham after another. Then someone said: Where did you buy it? I said COSTCO.. Well go to them and see what happens… OK.. I went and the guy simply said: do you have the receipt? Me: Yes.. Ok.. He takes me to the customer rep, area and gives me the 75 bucks. Something I got a run around for months by the computer company. Right THERE I was a customer of COSTCO and still am. And thus, I am a customer and follower of Bold and Determined for the AWESOME help Victor gives. In a world of ” I surrender.” No.. How about I am awesome and will not stop! I can’t help it.. Bold and Determined pumps me up!!
Victor take a look at my article “How to get a V taper -complete guide.” Can I guest post it?
3 posts and you want a guest post on the best website in the world? No.
I really don’t like to knock anyone that’s trying to make an effort, but Frost, I gotta say, your website looks waaaaaay too similar to B&D. I suggest making some changes unless you wanna be seen as just another copycat.
What do you mean by making some changes? If you’re talking about the appearance of the website, the theme that is used here on B&D and on my site is called metro pro. Its a popular theme used by many websites.
I really love the metro theme as well and used it across a couple different sites of mine. Here’s some tips for anyone looking to differentiate their site from the B&D look, not just because you’d be thought of as a copy cat, but also because it will make the site look generally better.
1. Replace the header with a full screen wide responsive header. I hope I said that right, but what I mean is to edit the functions.php to change the pre set dimensions of the header image. Here’s a handy site for tutorials on how to do so. http://sridharkatakam.com/adding-responsive-logo-metro-pro/
2. Use image links on your sidebar. Using the text widget you can place an image link to some of your most popular articles, guides, or whatever.
3. Use the ‘genesis simple edits’ plugin to change the stuff written in the small area under the footer. Usually the default is a bunch of links back to genesis’ own sites. Put whatever you want in there.
That should do it.
Frost, your site looks exactly like B&D. I believe Victor once wrote that the copy will never have as much succes as the original. I suggest you take that advice man.
Wannabe blogs like these are hilarious. Why are you trying to copy Vics site to the tee? There’s only Bold and Determined and it’s always going to be that way. Not discouraging you but you’ll have a much greater chance when your website or blog is a result of YOUR genuine thinking.
I’m not trying to copy anyone’s site. My content comes from my bodybuilding experiences. I realize the site looks similar but I like the theme metro pro and I’m not changing it because B&D is using it. What you see as copying is inspiration I got from B&D, I will try to not use what I learned here on B&D on my site.
90% of the wannabes on this site copy the same damn theme and articles.
You are correct Riz. Thanks bro.
All said and done you got to be IN THE RIGHT PLACE AND AT THE RIGHT TIME TO BE SUCCESFUL….obviously you need to have a ‘product’ too.
The sheeple’s tastes are very fickle…and shite…look at the music industry for example..or what’s left of it.
You can be the best guitar player in the world tomorrow and so what.
The sheeple will still ignore you and buy Iggy Azalea.
Because that’s what the Yids in Hollywood are pushing.
Training is only part of the picture.
Success is not easy.
Also don’t underestimate the importance of ‘luck’
…or good looks.
When did you last see a succesful singer that is fat short and ugly? Hardly ever.
I repeat…hard work alone is only 50% of the picture.
I do enjoy your blog…
After coming back too Europe in 2013 from traveling and working in the 2nd and 3th world (Ukraine, Thailand, Dubai and India). I decided to live life on own terms. The words and ideas of Victor Pride influenced me and helped me transform into a championwolf. Deep down, always knew I had it in me. But his website enlightened the fire.
- I was determined. (Live or Die)
- I moved to Amsterdam and got myself a consultancy job. I negotiated to work only 4 days in the week (full pay).
- I started immediately working on my OWN online business.
- I go at least 4 times a week to the gym. (I go heavy: All-in or nothing)
- I broke up with my ‘empowered’ girl, who had no understanding for my desire for success and freedom. (she was 6 years older than me, hahah what a fool I was)
- I keep a healthy distance from friends, who like to drink and party every day.
- I wake up everyday at 6. When everybody is sleeping, I am already kicking ass.
- Everyday I am shaved, clean and dressed to the maximum. (The weak colleagues hate me for it)
- I walk straight, proud and with honor.
- I put myself first always, with respect for the elderly and the defenseless.
- I don’t argue with people. If they don’t bother me, I let them be.
- People respect me, because I respect myself.
- Every single day I work on my business. (even if it is for 1 hour)
Results:
- In 2 weeks, I will launch my second website and third brand.
- End of this year I will be able to quit my job. And put all my energy into further growing my OWN business and brands.
- My current girl knows how to cook and she understands that I am a wolf.
- My body has never been as good as it is now.
- My mind and focus are sharper then ever.
Thank you Victor, keep them coming!
Greetings form The Netherlands
Yo Don Dano, im going to live in Amsterdam too. Where’d you fimd a girl thats willing to cook and clean for you?
Hey Sebastian;
“Writing about self-improvement in this situation would be a fraud.”
I totally disagree. Life took a shit on you. Your ability and willingness to stand up, clean up, and throw shit back in the face of life is exactly what a lot of us want/need to read about.
As you crush your obstacles and press on, let us know what they were and how you overcame.
I would wish you luck but you aren’t playing the lottery. I pray you continue to find the energy to work your ass off to achieve your dreams and make a difference in your life as well as those around you.
Great post Victor.
Too mahy people convince themselves they “have no time” to accomplish all that they wanna do. We know this is bullsh**, it is all about how much effort and dedication you put into each hour of the day. You grind now in order to see fulfillment later.
Victor how can you get rid of a mortgage or rent bill here in the states? I want to know how to live completely debt free that includes rent and electricity so that I can eliminate all my bills.
Get creative and think outside the box. I own a house, and have a mortgage. I rent out two spare bedrooms, and the rent I collect pays my mortgage, with no extra work on my part, other than having to share part of my living space. So you could technically say I live “rent free”.
This^
Hey Vic, this post is a great motivator! I want to try out that Kratom. I’m living in Koh Phangan, can you tell me where you order yours? Thank you.
Kratom is illegal in Thailand, in the same category as marijuana. Late last year there were talks of legalizing it but, this being Thailand, things went nowhere.
Ok, thanks.
Hello Victor,
Another great article. I still didn’t get my avalanche of success, but as long as I have faith I’ll continue.
I found an interesting image describing the different stages of entrepreneurship: Check it out:
http://www.virgin.com/entrepreneur/never-give-becoming-entrepreneur
keep up the great work.
Thanks for this! It actually helped me. I think I am at the dip atm.. Need to get back up before I get sent back to the start.
Good point about no comparing yourself to others.
Victor have you read any good books lately?
Also what you think of George at Pierre’s book?
Haven’t yet read GSP’s book but it’s sitting on my kindle waiting to be read. The one book written by a fighter I absolutely recommend is Urijah Faber’s The Laws of the Ring. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005Z0IMQ4/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B005Z0IMQ4&linkCode=as2&tag=boldanddete-20&linkId=USU2COOGW3WL65JG
It’s not about fighting, it’s about getting what you want out of life. The guy went into business in his early twenties as he was getting into fighting, he also owns 4 or 5 houses on the same block where all the guys on his training team live. I don’t want to do a whole review here but one thing I will mention is his concept of “personal credit” meaning people should believe your word, just like banks should believe you will pay them back. I could put this book in the top 10 must read books.
Bruce Buffer’s book was a fantastic read. The guy is a go-getter. When he was in his late 30’s he learned he had an older brother by the name of Michael Buffer, the guy who does all the boxing announcing and is famous for “Let’s get ready to rumble”. Bruce quit his businesses, went into business with Michael, they trademarked “Let’s get ready to Rumble” and made millions. Great book.

Chael Sonnen’s book was surprisingly dull. Let’s Get It On by Big John McCarthy was pretty interesting if you’re interested in the history of the fight game.
Most people are quitters and will never stick with anything. If you simply stick with it you will end up in the top 1% of all people on earth. The spoils of war only go to those who stick it out. Quitters are left with scraps and that’s all they deserve.
Right now as i write it’s 3:45am. i went to bed at midnight, and i start again at 5am. This is exactly what i needed to hear right now. By the way, same shit happened to me, I just experienced my avalanche last month and i’m literally making enough in a month to live for a year comfortably…
Thanks Vic!
I just experienced my avalanche last month and i’m literally making enough in a month to live for a year comfortably…”
Excellent work!
First time poster, long time reader of the site. I just wanted to say I love the atmosphere at this place more than anything else, it’s very uplifiting. With that said I hate to post anything negative so please don’t take this as that.
Seems like most guys here get the overall message- work very hard, never ever quit and try and live a life of freedom, etc- all of which I currently do myself these days and I couldn’t be happier either. With that said it seems to me that every single time I click onto another posters site from here it’s another male improvement type place.
My advice to others wpuld be to focus harder on finding out what it is your really good at or passionate about. Dig way deeper to come up with this. To me this is the real key to success with acheiving this lifestyle. It’s all about finding that one special thing that you can teach others to do. My personal opinion is people aren’t putting enough thought into this very important part of the equation. The reason this website works is because Victor walks the walk meaning we can TRUST him and the message that he’s relaying to us because he is living and speaking is the truth. Without trust the message has little value to others.
Anyways not trying to be negative so hope no one takes it that way. I know it’s not easy believe me but my advice to others out there trying to get out of the rat race of life, spend every minute of every day figuring out why you are who you are. Eventually something will pop up and when it does you will know.
Fuck, I love these articles. They’re so straight forward and to the fucking point. No bs.
I’m 19 and I’m aiming to do exactly this - fucking work until I reap my rewards.
I have big dreams man, and reading this kind of thing only pushes me further and motivated me more to accomplish my goals. Thank you, Vic.
That feeling of liberation, Victor you have done it again. Love it.
Great post, routine can definitely pave the path towards success.
Subj: 30 days of Discipline
Victor I’ve given that program all I’ve got in terms of implementing those 12 habits (and I’m not giving up), but in a 30 day span I’ve failed in at least 3 or 4 things on a given day.
What works for me is to forget about the 30 day goal and instead put those habits into practice as I become accustomed to them.
I printed 30DOD and put it into a binder along with BOAS + extra
I read and study your writing like Christians study the bible, I
Any who my question is
Q: Can you expect someone to implement all 12 habits every single day since ‘DAY1 - DAY30′
W/O failing once?
I get lost in my thoughts and wonder if I just need to exercise more will-power or is my thinking unreasonable.
Please take the time to answer, I must hear back from you, I will do some shopping soon from your affiliate links.
When you fall down you just get back up again.
Hi Vic,
you are coonfirming what Malcolm Gladwell wrote in his book:
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Outliers_(book)
Cheers
Dodo
…that’s to say, the rule of the “ten thousand hours of practicing”.
Your comment reminds me of a little nugget I found a decade or so ago..
“Practice DOESN’T make perfect when you are practicing it WRONG.”
And with that, I gotta go and figure out how to keep doing more shit right!
Feels like there should be a catch. “Just work your ass off and you’ll make it.” Gotta be a catch.
The only catch I see is to not quit.
You will get knocked down, shit on, fucked over, hurt, discouraged, and left for dead.
A great batting average is .300 That means fail 70% of the time.
Every fighter gets knocked down. To be great you have to get up again.
There is a catch…
Never, never, ever quit.
Never.
The catch?
I’ll tell you what the catch is. Live full and die empty.
Hi Vic,
Nice post mate. Even though it is not really saying anything different to what you have said before, the way you say it and the examples you give are what makes it inspiring and fresh. You are the Golden standard when it comes to positive masculinity and self-improvement.
I have had an interesting journey since I first read B&D 1 year ago. I read The Millionaire Fastlane, and for awhile became obsessed with making money and getting rich at all costs. I have to say, for that few months I was really unhappy….constantly spinning business ideas, dreaming of leaving my new job and relatively new career path, and trying to do things that weren’t suited to me as a person. I am someone who needs balance between mental, physical, financial and spiritual practices. Saying that, I have realised that work/occupation is the foundation from which the rest of your life is built so does indeed require intense focus, although not necessarily solely from the perspective of wealth creation.
Now I have found my own path, and I am really happy. I am going to contract as a consultant as soon as I have enough experience in my profession (I am 8 months in currently, so thinking 6-12 months more before I go solo). I can earn loads of cash on 6 month contracts, then once a contract is over I can travel for 2-3 months and see the world as I have always dreamed. With my profession it may be possible to work remotely as well (location independent), so perhaps I will be able to travel even more. The challenge is to build up a strong reputation and client base from home.
Your blog continues to help me on my path - thank you and keep up the excellent work.
Cheers,
Dariyal
Yo Victor, what alternative is there to promoting an e book? I see that you blog and that’s where your e book clients come from. I tried blogging and I don’t like it. I want to promote my e book, how can I do that without blogging?
thanks victor, you know the smell of butter makes me think of this blog. Yep I love (rare) steaks.
HAHA!!
same thing, every time I use butter I think of bold and determined. T-Shirt Idea with the logo of b&D. ”Keep calm and eat butter”
haha!
Great article. It’s refreshing to hear someone reinforce “doing the work” over affirmations and theoretical planning.
The only part I find difficult of the “drilling and killing” phase is what keeps you coming back after you don’t get it right. It’s true that a clear majority will not stick with it for the long run. The interesting component is to find what separates those who don’t from those who do. Do those who stick with it reinforce their efforts with positive talk and affirmations, or do they turn off their minds and operate as machines?
A couple things to think about.
In this case, let’s consider two possible scenarios:
a) You had a bad/unsustainable business idea - but you thought it was great at that time you started it.
b) You had a great idea which, if executed properly, had great potential.
If you fail doing a) then it is easy. You just quit that idea and move on to something better instead of wasting time making a bad idea look good.
After spending time on b) and you don’t succeed, then introspect at what went wrong. You still believe it is a great idea, and it actually was one. Tried to do too many things at once without resources? Failed to foresee how much money you needed to keep the business running before turning profitable? Once you get to the root of it, the path forward will be crystal clear.
And how does one avoid getting into situation a) in the first place?
Prepare, research like possessed and then overlay that with your gut feeling. Then sleep over it for a few days, weeks and see whether you still feel the same about the idea. If you still feel great, go ahead. And If the idea ceases to excite you anymore, then why would other people care?
Do this, and you’ll seldom be (completely) wrong.
Great response, although not quite what I was getting at.
Regardless of sustainability or strength of idea, every businessman will encounter failure, just like any athlete will endure a slump and every new investor will lose a few along the way.
My aim was to focus on the mental/emotional reaction that one may have to the series of “bad days” where there doesn’t seem to be getting any progress. Of course the best approach would be “what works for you,” though I’m curious as to how the successful have handled this, which I speculate is either by manipulating the emotions to aid their mental attitude, or shutting down emotions and thoughts all together in order to function.
Hard to take that from my post, which looks like a ramble in hindsight. Great advice nonetheless.
Thank you for the follow-up to your question.
I couldn’t have said it better myself - it is, as you said, ‘manipulating emotions to aid your mental attitude.’
Failure and bad times naturally puts extreme negativity into your thoughts. More often than not, we get into a loop of dark emotions, like a stuck record. People who are successful eventually have the willpower to override your mind’s natural response to a negative situation. It is impossible to completely do that, but during those moments of optimism, you must power through towards your goals.
Let me try and illustrate that drawing from own experience.
I grew up extremely poor, with my family surviving on twenty dollars a week in the 80’s India. I had only one pair of shorts to go to school and draw water from a handpump, yeah, that bad. Later, after school we fell behind on our house payments and I had to run around trying to sell our tiny apartment. I worked my way through college, and then later could not scrounge money for the final semester of my post graduate degree. So I had to drop out and take an unpleasant $80/month job doing graveyard shifts while living in a small room on a roof. Summers were not pleasant, with temperatures touching 120 degree’s indoors- frequent power cuts and no running water most of the time.
But I persevered (with occasional thoughts of killing myself, I’ll admit) and after 14 years of working, my salary increased by 7,300%, which was very respectable even by US standards. I had a great job, flew all across the world in flat bed air-travel, had a passport the thickness of a quarter pounder burger, and with zero debts.
Even with a seemingly perfect life, I decided to get into my own internet business, which I started seven years ago (while keeping my day job) It was a great idea but failed miserably and had to shut it down. But then I looked at what I was doing wrong so decided to quit my job and focus on it full time. But before that I prototyped the idea to test my assumptions, and saved money for the last three years, slowly building a fund.
It has been three months since I’ve kicked my job. Never felt better, and I have saved for the next two years to cover both my business and family expenses so I’m covered. I work 100 hour weeks now, never taken a day off and will do so for the next one year. I wake up at 04:30, take a cold shower bath and work out five times a week. I stopped wasting time and money on late dinners, movies and other things that sap you. And I never had a television in my life so that was never a bother. I switch off my cellphone at 8pm so that people don’t bug me with what office politics went down in their lives.
I am making good progress so far, and I should achieve my goals by end of next year - which was the original plan.
Self-doubt? I get that from time to time, but I just squash that with productive work. The moral of the story is:
If you are a heathy male, live in a free country, can read and write, then you are a fucking superman. It is simple as that.
It is a pity most people don’t know that and live a life less fulfilling.
Best,
Ajay,
I love your attitude and your story.
Thank you for sharing both.
I was talking the other day with a guy I do business with. He owns a logging company and over a thousand acres of non contiguous land, all within an hours drive of one of the largest metropolitan areas in the US. One of the things that stood out as we were talking was how he said that he “worked his ass off - 15-20 hr days for 7 years straight, at times barely making it and then suddenly it was like a dam was unleashed and then the money and opportunities just began flowing.” At 37 years of age this guy told me that his accountant just recently told him he could easily retire right now, off the money from his land base alone, if he wanted to. The moral of the story: while guys his age were chasing pussy, smoking dope and partying in their twenties, this guy was grinding it out and now while his colleagues are sitting like lab rats in cubicles - dreaming of another 30 years and retirement - this guy has already arrived.
Hey Vic I can’t for the life of me figure out how to get the comment section on my blog working. I installed discuss, added the comment widget to the footer at the bottom and it just shows a bar that says comment without the actual ability to comment. Even asked discuss and they just sent me chasing my tail.
Couldn’t agree any more with everything you said, Vic!
I went to school, did well. Then, went to college, did well. Then, went to law school, did well. Passed the bar exam at 25 and thought I was ready the live the “American dream.”
Well, I’ve been living said “dream” for the past 9 years and have never been more miserable .
Divorce: Check
Alimony Payments: Check
Child Support Payments: Check
10- to 13-hour work days: Check
Under debt for expensive toys I bought to find happiness: Check
Over $5,500 per month in taxes to a fucking useless government run by a absolute useless dick elected by fucking useless liberals: Check.
Your blog is helping me find the man I was: happy & motivated.
Yup, I’m 34 now. But, it’s never too late to make a change. Only regret I have is not finding your website earlier when I was going through divorce and drinking heavily to wash away my sorrows.
Thanks again!
Vik (yup, that’s my real name :-) ).
Welcome to the NEW American dream.
Fantasyland for the liberal do-nothings, feminists, and homos that are, according to the CDC, wait for it…; 1.6% of the population.
And a living nightmare for the rest of us that buy into it.
I’m living it too.
We all make mistakes and bad decisions/choices.
Only the idiots among us do it twice.
Hang in there Vik. I promise it gets better if you do!
Hi Victor. I wanted to know something that has been bugging me. if you get up at 5am what time do you go to bed every night? I’m assuming you get the standard 8 hours sleep, or are you like Arnie, and Einstein who think that sleep is a waste of good time? If I was to wake at 5am every day it would mean going to bed at 9pm by that reckoning. You are an absolute inspiration by the way adn I’m currently focusing on ideas to create niche websites.
9pm.
I guess 1 % is a little under estimation. Where I live, most people are ‘stickers’ and do the same job their whole life.
There is only one thing you need and that is the determination to keep going, even when you cant be arsed!
The “avalanche” is an excellent metaphor. What begins with only a tiny catalyst can rage into a cataclysmic torrent. We want our successes to be exponential. The reason the greatest people in the world are so great is because they get out there and just fucking do it.
Get out there and do what needs to be done.
