Let me paint the picture…
We were at the shopping mall.
Two girlies were eye-balling us and giggling as they sat with their little male friend (who I assumed was gay but wasn't).
Then Mike asked a rhetorical question…
He asked, “Why wouldn't you want to be big“.
With no real answer, I said, “I don't know“.
But here's a better answer for you, in detail…

Summary of this podcast:
Here are some benefits of building a body that impresses: You'll earn more money, people respect you more, women love big strong men, and people don't notice you when you're small.
“Your body is like your resume.”
It's the first thing people see and it is what people look at when they form an impression about you.
It takes time and dedication to be big, which makes lazy people wonder, “Is it worth it?”
I used to be skinny-fat and Mike used to be regular-fat. We have the perspective to understand how changing your body will change your life.
How long does it take to build a body that impresses?
It takes as long as it takes.
Everyone has a genetic limit and once you reach those limits the only way to get bigger is to….? Listen and find out.
3 Keys to Building a Body
- Food
- Training
- Hormones
There are three types of bodybuilders/fitness types
- Regular guy - Goes to gym, sort of puts in some time
- Superman - Takes it to the next level and goes above and beyond with diet and exercise
- Mentally ill - Extreme bodybuilders who suffer from body dysmorphia/Bigorexia.
What do competitive bodybuilders go through to maintain that physique? A lot.
Bodybuilding should enhance your life, not rule your life.
What look are you going for with your body?
Greek statue vs burly lumberjack.
Is there money involved in building a physique?
Yes and no.
A famous YouTube bodybuilder only earned only $4,000 a month from his body.
“Join your mind and body and become whole.”
How to boost your immune system with juicing.
I recently had blood-work done and my lymphocyte count was low, which means my immune system was suppressed.
You can boost your immune system with vegetable juicing.

How do you train differently as you age?
Beginners need a program. Advanced trainers train instinctively.
When you're older you develop muscular density, which helps you look big even when you don't have a gym pump.
Once you've built your body, you can do less work and look better at the same time.
What happens when you train too hard for too long?
Sometimes you must take a break when “life” steps in.

Awesome!
This, must say, does feel good knowing you have the best body within a 5 mile radius
“Your body is like your resume.”
I agree with this so much. Your body image says so much about you. And it’s not only your fitness level, but everything from the clothes you wear to how it fits you. I personally believe that men shouldn’t wear clothes that’s too tight or too baggy. I believe the “fitted” look is best. Of course, if you have a bad body, the fitted clothes won’t do s*** for you.
Regarding the Zinc supplement, I started taking Zinc Picolinate recommended by Victor and can definitely feel the difference. Better sleep, better workouts, and an overall sense of well being. I’ve been looking into taking 5-HTP.
Thanks for the podcast guys! I’m looking forward to Bad Guy Bodybuilding.
-Alex
http://www.inertiawillhurtya.com
5-HTP raises serotonin levels in your gut and some goes to your brain. If your going to go low on the carbs, 5-HTP is a great sup to have in your arsenal to keep you up. That’s my opinion anyways.
Thanks for sharing, Justin. I was reading more about it online and ordered a bottle before reading your reply. I’m excited to see how it works for me.
-Alex
http://www.inertiawillhurtya.com
5-HTP does help to restore Serotonin levels in dieting fitness folks. After a protracted diet where calories and carbs are restricted- serotonin is depleted. Using 5-HTP at night before bed at 200mgs or so is extremely beneficial to restore proper brain chemistry.
Very good info. Thanks for sharing, Jay. This is beneficial to anyone doing a drastic diet (low-carb/low-calorie). I tend to be in a shitty mood if I low-carb for too long.

Hey Alex, would you mind leaving some Twitter profile here? I’d like to add you in one of my Twitter lists.
Zinc also helps fight acne, or ‘backne’. I also drink a lot of green, nettle and chamomile tea, which are all very beneficial to your health.
I am looking forward to listening to this on my walk later tonight.
By the way, I really like how you did the summary for the podcast in this post. Great example for anyone else out there trying to figure it out.
Fucking love when podcasters do this. Definitely gives you the opportunity to see the key topics that are discussed, and you know if they’re applicable and valuable to you.
Saves time, helps the listener.
Bing. Bang. Boom.
What you see on the outside determines what’s on the inside.
Still listening to the broadcast, but one thing popped into my mind when you were talking about the beta types that think “Why would I want to be big? Those guys are just dumb meat heads with tiny dicks.”
If you think you are smart and have it all going on downstairs, why not seal the deal with some musculature? Why limit yourself by staying small and scrawny? Are you afraid a few pounds of muscle is going to make your dick and brain shrink? No. Getting stronger can only help you. Like Vic said, it helps with how others perceive you, but even more importantly, it helps with how you feel about yourself. You can’t tell me you won’t be strutting around a bit, if you look in the mirror every morning and the first thing you see is your awesome physique.
Now…back to the broadcast.
YEAHHHH!! This made me even more pumped to get into the gym this afternoon and hit some big boy PRs on my deadlift!! Just gotta get these beef burgers in!
Oh man can I relate to this in a major way.
A number of years ago I went “all in,” on fitness and gaining muscle. Heavy ass compound lifts, tons of protein, creatine and even a prohormone.
Ended up packing on over 20 lbs un under a year.
The effects were a joke. Girls would approach me. People would almost move out of my way when walking in public. People would say things like “well, you’re a big guy..I’m sure XYZ isn’t a problem for you.”
It’s totally engrained in people’s subconscious to give more respect and attention to people who are not only big in terms of muscles, but also have enough self respect to take care of themselves.
On that note, I’m off to the gym!
I’m Skinny(not skinny fat), I started Starting Strength 7 weeks ago. I can feel the difference, my back isn’t sore anymore from sitting at my shitty desk at work. i have actual muscles on my legs, my arms, chest, shoulders are bigger. Its great I’ve gained 15lbs from eating a little more than normal and drinking lots of milk, 1/2 gal to 1gal a day.
Just curious, what are you best lifts Squat/Bench/Deadlift/Press?
Non-sense.
Having a body might capture women’s attention but that don’t mean you’ll automatically get the girl. I know lots of buff dudes who have no game and can’t get any chicks. I know lots of buff dudes who are insecure and have no confidence.
As far as the rest is concerned though it is good to stay fit, and build muscle but it’s easier said than done. Some guys bust there ass and go to the gym and stay stuck spinning his wheels naturally. Some guys (skinnier) have a tougher time building muscle, maybe it’s because they aren’t eating enough, maybe they aren’t lifting enough , or maybe they just have low T. There are a lot of variables to it.
Now a lot of the guys that are walking around buff have not only the time and leisure to work out, but they also have a good budget for food, and vitamins and supplements, and let’s forget, a lot of these guys walking around buff acting natural when the real reality is they are on steroids.
Other than that interview it’s good stuff, there are just a ton of variables to getting big and it’s not as easy as it sounds there is a lot of sacrifice in order to get real results.
You are an idiot if you think men only work out to attract women. Give it another listen becuae as a former little guy (short and skinny) there is definietely a correlation between size and respect
You ever have an imbalance where one side is bigger than the other? I’m right-handed, and my whole right side, pecs, arms, shoulders, is noticeably bigger than the left. What do you think is the best way to balance this out?
I’ve been simply focusing my mind on my left side during all my lifts, and this is working a bit. Just looking for some pointers from you and any other experienced lifters here. I don’t like the idea of adding sets to my left side or using more weight on the left, but if that’s the only way you can think to balance the left side out, I’d give it a shot.
BTW I’ve been lifting 3-5 times per week, heavy, for 5 years now.
do an extra set for each exercise only on the left side
I had severely uneven lats until i started doing this
My left side is bigger than my right even though my right side is the dominant. I’ve been to the chiro, orthopedist, got x-rays, all of them dismissed as nothing much. But I felt my performance and symmetry were suffering and I was feeling too “left-bound”. A while ago I took my time looking at the mirror and moving around and finally found what for me were the problems, mainly 2:
1- Not fully exhaling. Most people are in a state of constant inhalation. Fully exhaling puts your pelvis in the correct neutral position, effectively activating your abdominal muscles for proper posture. For me I feel a noticeable contraction right between the obliques and lower abs, as if I had strings pulling me into the right place (think Conan O’Brien doing that silly string dance). Also thinking long chest as opposed to chest up seems to help.
2- Forward head posture. This one was the main culprit. As soon as I would tuck my chin infront of the mirror, together with proper ab support and glute activation, my whole body would fall into complete symmetry. I found that adding chin tucks throughout the day to promote posture translated to better performance, and very fast and noticeable improvements bodywise. I should mention my right side (the smaller one), was slight lower than the left. I now use the neutral neck position while lifting and it just feel right, and I feel the right side working alongside the left, while before the left would take over. Now with a bit more training and time I know the right will catch up.
Google neutral neck, neck packing and chin tuck, particularly things written by Eric Cressey and also Mike Robertson. Also abdominal bracing vs arching (same authors). I feel like a new person after learning this, even in how I carry myself and my confidence (which was already high), is even higher. Hope I helped
Using dumbbells, and keeping the weight the same for both sides helps for me.
I have been finding it really difficult to bulk up. I gained 10 kilos of pure muscle in a few months but now I’m stuck and haven’t made much progress, even though I do my best to eat as much as possible. I started counting calories and actually find it really difficult to get at least 4,000 calories in. In order to get as much as I need, I’ll need to be shoveling everything I find into my mouth.
I know the only way to get big is to train hard (and add more weight) and eat like a dinosaur but I’m not sure how to do it. It seems like cooking at home makes it pretty much impossible to get all the calories. Anyways, awesome article, I’ll listen to the podcast when I have some time. I just bought your 30 days of discipline book, failed day one, but tomorrow is another day!
Try adding this stuff in between meals: Peanut butter and jelly, a bowl of yogurt and nuts, egg whites, bananas, chili. If you are skinny and lifting heavy you won’t get fat by adding more food. How do I know? I’m skinny. I’ll buy a huge container of yogurt and crush that in between meals/all day.
I live in Philly and there’s a store here called Wawa. It’s shitty food, but you can get a carton of 6-7 meatballs for around 4 bucks. They also have something called “bowls” which is basically a bowl of lettuce with a ton of chicken salad thrown on top.
Two words for you: Crock Pot. Throw a bunch of shit in a crock pot and let it sit all day. Then you have a lot of food to consume. Don’t be afraid of carbs and try and eat double for your main “square” meals.
Typical meal plan for me: Get up and eat breakfast-bunch of eggs, vegetable juice, some kind of fruit such as bananas etc, throw some beans in. Lunch-eat either two sandwiches, or bag of vegetables with some chicken breasts, or a tuna wrap. Dinner-chicken breasts again with some kind of bag of rice or something, steak and eggs, duck and rice. In between, try to crush some yogurt, protein shakes, some kind of snacks.
Maybe this will help, but if you start looking at food as fuel to get big instead of something to eat, you may have less aversion to funneling it down your throat. If you’re skinny, gotta start pushing your body. I just wish someone told me this in high school.
Take a look at dudes like LA Beast and Kobayashi, they got big and are competitive eaters. Yes their diet consists of a lot of shit, but they said fuck it and used all those extra calories to their advantage and are both lifters.
I gained about 10 lbs in the last couple months and my lifts are going up each time I go to the gym. Breaking plateaus I have had for years. Listen to your body and if you are hitting a plateau, add more food. Then hit the weights again. Every time I do this, I break the plateau.
Hope this makes some kind of sense.
Thanks a lot, it does make sense. I have been eating eggs like crazy but I think I need to include more chicken and beef to get in some extra nutrition. Thanks for your response, a lot of great tips that I’ll have to implement!
Fantastic job on the initial gains, Timothy!
From your results, it’s clear that you know what it takes to pack on the mass but you’ve physically reached a point where it’s extremely uncomfortable to eat more volume of food.
At this point eating “more” isn’t a practical solution. As Vic says “bodybuilding is supposed to enhance your life, not control it.” So force feeding yourself isn’t a great path.
You need more calorie dense foods. As Tate mentioned, “don’t be afraid of carbs.” Although far from health food, I would recommend that you add some liquid carbs like Gatorade to your diet.
One 32 oz Gatorade is going to give you an extra 400 calories and will have little impact on your appetite. If consumed daily, this is enough to get the scale moving again.
Hope this helps!
Wawa - nice.
Drink milk, a gallon of whole milk has around 2400 calories, 128g of protein. I guarantee you’ll gain weight, even drinking half the gallon a day and eating normally.
I think tbh its more of a case of if you are tall than ‘big’ that really makes the difference. When you are tall people assume you are more capable even if you arent. I know plenty of tall men that are out of shape and dont look good that still get more respect than more capable physically stronger males simply for being tall. Being big and muscled is fine but its up to a point, there is no way in hell women find guys like Jay Cutler, Ronnie Coleman etc attractive just because they are huge. I think Victor and Mike probably are at the right balance as neither are ‘huge’ but hey are bigger than average.
Nice post, really enjoyed it, advanced trainers train instinctively is right on the money.
Looking forward to the next one.
This just motivated me as fuarrrkkk!!!!
Vic, start eating more salt. Bloating, cramping, … I guess you also have to pee a lot & don’t sweat so much. Try it. Eat more salt.
too much salt is not too good for your arteries I think.
I’m aware of the salt intake issue, I have standing orders for my staff to cook all of my food with celtic sea salt. I do sweat a lot. I live in Vietnam.
Have you ever measured your blood sugar levels? High blood sugar levels create an osmotic imbalance in the arteries, which cause water to be drawn from various tissues, resulting in excessive water loss. It’s difficult to hydrate the body, when it’s constantly losing fluids. I had the same problem until a few days ago.
I fixed it. Now I don’t need too much salt & water.
What did you do to fix it?
Eat more fat. The impact of fat on blood sugar is nihil. It does raise insulin, and has the possibility to cause insulin resistance, when you eat too much of it.
All carbohydrates will eventually raise blood sugar & insulin. Excess protein will be converted too sugar too, albeit slower.
A deathly combination with insulin resistance. Slowly elevating blood sugar levels over a couple of hours are a disaster insulin wise.
Insulin inhibits growth hormone & testosterone production. You get the picture. I don’t need to explain to you.
There is more to it, but the whole puzzle takes too much time. This is the essence.
Get a blood sugar meter & start measuring. Worst case scenario you can cross off one possible cause.
Looking like you have muscle and using muscle are quite different.
So what if someone looks big and tough. If he works at an office and spends his time sipping beers at the bar, what is the point of muscle?
….
And then you two sort of covered that. Thank you.
I used to work airborne S&R, back then I needed muscle to move fast and be agile.
These days I train to climb mountains. I Backpack, snowboard, mountaineer, hike etc. I don’t want, or need to be huge.
So is there a difference between LOOKING big and being fit?
Great entry chaps.
Great points. I used to be 220 at 5’9″ with 8% bodyfat. Ate 6 times a day, at the gym 2 times a day, and took the necessary accessories to get past my natural genetic limits of about 195 pounds. I was a slave to the bodybuilding lifestyle. Woman were actually intimidated by me. I passed up white water rafting trips because I was worried about missing meals. Mean while I had friends that were ex military special forces who took a more rounded approach to fitness, mixed martial arts, outdoor fun, etc. One buddy took out 11 people, one right after another being only 5’11 and 200 lbs he didn’t care about having 20 inch arms or being a pro bodybuilder. He spent his time becoming a lethal real world martial artist. He would have kicked my ass in the blink of an eye. I also used to get sick with much greater frequency when I ate 6 meals a day, I think it puts undo stress on the digestive system and the rest of the body. Today I am a lean mean 180. I can run a long ways, crush any of the pft tests that the military has to offer, skilled at hand to hand fighting, and I enjoy all of the outdoor activities that life has to offer. And woman get turned on because I am 36 without a guy a look good with my shirt off. I wish I would have known this when I was 20 couple, It would have saved me a lot of wasted time. On the flip side, I have great muscle memory without lifting.
Addenum line number 4 from the last. Woman get turned on because I don’t have a gut and look good with my shirt off.
Would love tohear Good looking losers input on the obsessed bodybuilders mentality.
Awesome podcast Vic, seriously looking forward to the BAD guy bodybuilding info.
I agree that osta shred looks like a good product, have you used it yourself?
Information will be forthcoming.
I had an experience similar to yours Mike.
I’m 6′ 2” and used to be 200 lbs of chewed bubblegum. I couldn’t do a single pushup. Then I lost the fat and got down to 165 lbs. I was extremely happy to not be fat anymore but I wasn’t complete. Now I’m up to 193 lbs with abs.
Next I’m after a little more size and a little less body fat for that statue look.
Started working out and seeing the results immediately.
1- Guys will treat you better, no joking, ho shaming, just 100% respect
2- Girls will love you better, stare at you, minimize shit tests, blow you all the time
Does this mean that we should ignore Matt Forney’s advice since he left himself go quite a bit?
Thanks for the podcast. Always great to hear what you guys have to say. Got a question: how much fish oil do you take? Or how much would you recommend to take for joint support? Thanks.
TBH I really don’t recall the doses. I take it only when joint pain is a problem and I typically take two caps up to four times per day.
Thanks Victor!
I never understand how people can expect to be treated well when you look like shit. If you look like shit you will be treated like shit, some people like that though I think, they don’t have a mission in life so they try to emulate the drama of this mission by going the complete opposite way, they don’t have the balls to actually grow so they decide they can get the attention by being some sort of martyr without a cause.
Anyway loving the blog, I think that with a blog your size, the fact that the posts are completed to perfection with a disregard for blogging frequency norms is a really risky choice that has payed off massively, I know that the second I see you have posted its like a scarce resource, causing me to read the post almost like scripture.
Regards,
-Jack

Taking the gym seriously was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
Inspired by this post I had to take a post-gym traps selfie; http://imgur.com/WOUtXGQ
On the serious though, I’ve also never understood why someone wouldn’t want a stronger, bigger, more awesome body. Ignoring how other people change towards you entirely, you just feel way fucking better and in charge of your life. Lifting teaches a lot of young guys, including me when I started, how to focus on something and diligently work towards getting results.
And then the physical effects make everything in life easier - except knowing your own strength when you accidentally crush instead of hug tiny girls.
But the way other people act around you DOES change. You command respect more easily, people move out of your way when you are walking, men want to be your friend, and women want to get in your pants.
And that’s pretty cool too, I guess. ;)
Very good stuff! I’m impressed by the comments and discussion between you and your guy.
I have been teetering over the decision of full body transformation into the world of bodybuilding. The potential there from a positivity perspective and the carry-over in other areas of someone’s life is pretty much endless. The look, the feel, the power, the healthy nutrition and weight training, all of that is open to anyone and can only give G-O-O-D results. I want to know as much as I can and hear your views on anything bodybuilding/health related.
Schwarzenegger’s “The Education of a Bodybuilder” is priceless motivation. I remember somewhere him mentioning that one’s physical stature does reflect positively concerning business, not just one’s personal life. I want to achieve my goal physique and the only advantage I can find for someone in my position as a beginner (damn) is the desire to want to work hard in the gym.
The information on juicing is really helpful, man. I know that’s taking off more and more; besides, who does not like drinking juice?
Professional bodybuilders sacrifice a lot. That’s the one way I look at it. I can’t knock someone for being the top in their field, whether or not they are “weird” or shaped a certain way. I can however knock someone who does not feel obligated to at least go through life looking like a winner.
Fantastic podcast as usual, guys. Mike and Victor are unending sources of practical knowledge.
Downloading the podcast now. This post is a lesson for bloggers. Links, products etc. all of them are put on post perfect.
Victor, this is my favorite quotes from this rendition.
“Body building is not to ruin your life but to improve your life”.
“first impression matters, second impression matters and third impression matters”
Thanks for sharing.

Defs listening to this on my way to work! Boo yah!
Pro hormones are steroids that were deemed too toxic to bring to market. Do your research before using as there’s no point if your heath is compromised. You can build a very impressive physique with smart training and nutrition. A good start would be to ignore all the bodybuilding magazines, know your body and look to nutrition gurus like Jerry Brainum and natural bodybuilders who truly know their stuff. Here’s a good vid on pro hormones and test.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FBx-g0sQHL4
You didn’t do any research Rich. They were deemed too toxic by others and you accepted it. I do research with my own body, you provide snark in internet comments. You also didn’t do any research on my views of pro-hormones, I have called them legal steroids for years now. Do your research, Rich, before you come to me with a know-it-all-attitude. You’re also quite naive, Rich, as those natural bb’ers you idolize are gear-heads and liars.
Tell em’ dude.
Victor, a few points:
1. Apparently Jerry Brainum knows his shit. He actually does the research on himself as has plenty of test subjects.
2. Rich is merely speaking his mind (as you say on your site).
3. Rich is not being snarky. If he is being snarky, then so are you. You are just being oversensitive. You are probably another one of those all-too common people that hates being told what to do. This is not a sign of strength, Victor; this is a sign of weakness (especially when the advice given is verified to be true and solid advice).
WTF are you talking about being snarky? Seriously, wtf are you talking about?
I quote you:
“You didn’t do any research Rich. They were deemed too toxic by others and you accepted it. I do research with my own body, you provide snark in internet comments. You also didn’t do any research on my views of pro-hormones, I have called them legal steroids for years now. Do your research, Rich, before you come to me with a know-it-all-attitude. You’re also quite naive, Rich, as those natural bb’ers you idolize are gear-heads and liars.”
The point about being snarky is that you yourself said it.
“The point about being snarky is that you yourself said it.”
Where? WTF are you talking about?
Care to elaborate?
If I’m wrong on anything, please say so.
Great podcast, telling my friends and co-workers about it. Thanks.
Have you tried Myo-x victor? I started taking that after john doe made an article about it and I’m shattering my PRs… Today I was so pumped after listening to your podcast, I went to the gym and I broke my PR for weighted chin-Up (100 lbs for 5), 45 degree incline bench (195 x 5) push press (165 x 5) and bent row (235 x 7)… all in the same workout, I’m gonna be dead tomorrow but this shits works. it seems that it doesnt work for everybody but it sure works for me. now I see that Anafuse reduce myostatin too, it seems like good shit.
Nope, never tried it. Doe’s word is good though. http://johndoebodybuilding.com/myo-x-by-mhp/
Vic, Mike,
Great podcast. Enjoyed all of the info you guys presented today. I appreciate the motivation and encouragement to become the best that I can be. I have joined the local gym by my house and have started the Body of a Spartan beginner routine and I feel great. I had been struggling with depression and didn’t want to do medication because of all the side effects… lifting weights has helped to show me who I am and who I must become.
I am also a Christian and lifiting has been very beneficial for my spiritual walk also. Your site has been an answered prayer, if you will. It has helped me to begin manifesting the spirit I needed in my personal relationship with Christ. I had begun to stagnate. Striving to perfect both mind and spirit has brought the balance and power that I was looking for and I sincerely thank you for being the vessels who brought the encouragement to me.
Through the inspiration you have brought through the things you have written, I have developed a solid understanding of what my purpose is, how I will begin my ministry and also how I will make a healthy living once it all comes to fruitation. It’s beautiful to see the pieces fall together.
It reminds me of the illustration I heard at church last night. A young girl awoke early one morning at a fancy hotel and went down stairs and sat at the grand piano and began to play one single note. At first, people thought she was cute. After 15 minutes or so, people began to become annoyed with the girl because she was still playing the same note. At that moment, a world renound piano player made his way into the lobby, sat next to her, and constructed a song around her single note that wowed everyone. Her persistance paid off and everything worked out beautifully. In the same way, I have been praying for my purpose, my goal, my mission to be made crystal clear. It has done so, thanks to the wonderful work you have done here and through the Word of God.
On another note… being a caffiene fiend of sorts myself… I enjoy a tea made from an herb called yerba mate. It was/is revered in South America as the “drink of the gods”. It contains a little less caffiene than a cup of coffee, but offers exponentially more health benefits. It is phenomenal. I hear it pairs very well with kratom also, though I have not tried it. Should be receiving my package in the mail very soon so I can give it a try… Give it a shot and let me know what you think… enjoy!
Thanks and God bless you all!
In Christ,
Adam
Thank you for the comment, Adam. I have used yerba mate before. I like coffee better, though I’m starting to very much like matcha green tea.
Never heard of it… just looked it up. I will add it to my list of things to try. Sounds like a great addition!
Thanks, Vic. Keep up the great work, brother.
I will be in contact very soon to get your team to get a website set up for me. I look forward to beginning this adventure. I was up at 4:30 this morning writing down ideas for the new blog. I could not let myself sleep until I wrote everything down. Filled several pages with content and ebook ideas, etc. Once I had my purpose in sight, the ideas flooded in. It was a wonderful experience.
Side note… you might enjoy the content from an author by the name of Dr. Caroline Leaf. Check her out on youtube. She’s a cognitive neuroscientist with some great info to share on how to the mind and body link together. One of the many topics includes her studies on how the mind causes physical change in the brain and the effects of positive and negative thinking. Her work has been a powerful influence in my life also. As a man that enjoys learning how the mind works and how to best utilize it, you will thoroughly enjoy the science behind it. It is astonishing.
If anyone needs a scrambled egg recipe here you go. Use a lot of butter (a square inch per 6-7 eggs) put that in the pan with some salt, pepper, and a little bit of sriracha. Mix up the eggs and put them in the pan on low-medium.
Hard to go wrong with butter and sriracha. I’ve been cooking my eggs over easy this week using liquid coconut oil.
A piece of buttered toast on the side to slather up the yolk and a piping hot cup of black coffee and you have yourself the start to a great day.
a another question maybe more for mike, about vegetables juice, are powder formulas like these http://www.iherb.com/product-reviews/Jarrow-Formulas-Green-Defense-6-35-oz-180-g-Powder/128/?p=1 do the same job
Top-Notch Podcast.
Good job on this podcast. I definitely believe in being big, looking good, and the halo effect. You should look your best possible, as as you said Victor, that the first impression, the 47th impression matter.
Victor I’m going through an injury also like you and I’m interested in what you said about eating while being out of the gym and staying in shape thru nutrition. Can you explain that? thank you.
Seems like sarms are going to take the place of pro hormones. Did run a cycle of ostarine back when it was still sold as a research chemical.
Was way to young to be messing with ped:s, but that stuff does work.
Victor I know you’re on TRT, do you have any experience with gh / imaproline?
Or ever considered using it as a part of your HRT?
/Axel
One of the reasons, your son takes your advice to do physical exercises. He sees the father knows what he is talking about.
Another reason, almost nobody comes back to find out what you meant by responding ‘fuck off’ to his blah-blah-blah in the street. And when one does, he will never move his finger to check what you have in store for him.
You started your own style of blogging. Before V Pride bloggers were vegan pussies blogging about how unique culturally refined they were.
Anyway I noticed you previously did some articles on sports gambling which is actually what I do for a living. Feel free to check it out at http://johnnierisk.com/
Although we both know you’ve gotten too big (pun intended) for that kind of nonsense, maybe some viewers will find it interesting.
You don’t need to hear it again but you’re the best man. Keep it up.
Hey Victor, awesome podcast. I enjoy listening to you and Mike talk because you each provide different perspectives, and they mesh together well. Anyone who says they don’t want to be big is most likely jealous and lazy. It’s kind of like a broke person saying that money doesn’t matter. The points you hit were solid. I would add that being big allows you more freedom in life. When you are in top shape you can physically do a lot more than other people. If you are on a hike and decide you want to climb something, you have the ability to do so. You can be more adventurous than everyone else. The rewards you reap from working on your body are well worth the work you have to put in.
One thing I noticed on this podcast was that your voice had a lot of bass. I know you have a deep voice, but it sounded like it might have something to do with the recording. It was hard to understand at times because it sounded muffled. Otherwise, great stuff Victor.
Yes, the bass needs to be toned down and that will be fixed in the next broadcast.
When you combine being muscular with strong posture, confidence and eye contact - people notice. In business or just around town. You are shown respect and rarely messed with. A number of times I’ve had people who I have just met wonder if I was a cop, because of the way I hold myself. I just laugh and say, ” nope just a business man”
I always get asked if I’m military. Even by my own family.
“Even by my own family” … Hilarious!
I did a couple Prohormone cycles in the past. Now with the ban, joining the dark side is an easy choice. I love it, I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to join the dark side.
HI Victor,
You’re right. Being big does get you a lot of respect and influence. However I notice that most guys mistook being fat as being big.
Anyway, I really learnt a lot from the last portion where you discussed nutrients.
Hope you recover soon
Beautiful podcast guys.
When I wear a shirt and walk the streets some men act as if they want to give me a push.
When I wear a tee and go for a stroll , men start making way for me from 4-5 feet away.
On days when I have exercised I feel fresh and energetic.
I work more and I work efficiently.
When I exercise , every tomorrow is a better day because I know that I have moved a day further into greatness.
But I exercise more and make a better body and lift a bigger bell not for a better tomorrow but for a better eternity
because these 20-30 years is forever for me.
If somewhere in eternity I get asked who were you when you were alive ? I want to point out to a person who looks like a statue.
A better body gives.
Pressure cookers are great for an athelete while training. You can throw all the ingredients in one big pot, add water, turn on the heat, and let set for 15 minutes when the pressure hits the line. You can cook enough food for a few days in less than an hour. Its good to have two though as beans need to be prepared alone. Plus it frees up rooom in the kitchen as only two pots are needed to cook all of your food. Using frozen vegtables can speed the process up even more since they can be just thrown in. A lot stores actually sell broccoli, cauliflower, and carrot mixes for a dollar to a dollar thirty. Any meat you use doesnt need to be defrosted either.
Best part is spices can be added after and just shake the pot up or stir it up and let it sit for a few minutes. Since the food is still hot butter melts in seconds and it has the same effect as cooking the food in butter. Hellps with making bigger portions too if you are on a fast and need to wolfish scarf down a meal. However, you cant cook a steak in one though.
Great summary, and looking forward to listening to the audio tonight. I’m 12 weeks into Body of a Spartan, finally growing some real muscle and noticing the effects you’ve described above. It’s incredible.
Not at my goal weight yet, haven’t reached that pure muscle density yet, but I’m getting there and enjoying the ride. It’ll take as long as it takes.
Thanks again Vic.
You mentioned a long time ago in your article “How to Be a Free Man” that getting a 2nd passport is a good idea. But my question is, is it worth serving TWO YEARS in the South Korean military in order to do so? I’m a Korean-American, and in order for me to acquire a 2nd passport, I would have to serve the mandatory 2 years conscription. If I do, I would be able to freely do business in South Korea, and would probably be a lot more buff through all the military training. There’s definitely economic opportunities by doing this, but is the TWO WHOLE YEARS in opportunity cost worth it?? I could possibly be traveling the world or creating my own business during the two years. This question is bugging me so much.
Thanks and keep up the great work Victor.
In your words: “The US gumment is run by psychopath’s who care nothing for the average citizen. They will put their hand in your pockets every chance they get, right up until (and after) collapse. The worse things get, the more money they take from your pocket. For this reason, I see it as almost essential in getting at least a 2nd residency.
Some countries will offer citizenship or residency after several years of occupancy in their country. Some will offer citizenship with marriage to a national. Some will offer citizenship for a cash payment, investment, or home purchase in said country. There are a lot of options here.”
It’s not worth it to me. Is it worth it to you? That’s rhetorical, I don’t need an answer.
Hey Victor, I noticed that you didn’t mention liver tabs in this article. Did you forget to add it or did your opinion on the supplement change?
Well said! I tweeted “I love the feeling I get when I see a man snatch on his girls arm when he catches her staring at mine! #BrazilianWeather #Tanktops #GunShow” while back. https://twitter.com/YusefWateef/status/573287358898049025
Great podcast guys. Beeing big can also save your life. My boxing buddy was in car crash, basically smashing interior of car with his body as it was rolling then flying out through the window head first. The fact that he is build like a bull saved his life doctor told him. If he was some weakling he would smash every bone in his body.
This is for anyone,
At 29 years old, 5’10, and 250lb, should I drop the fat first before I make the complete shift to get as big as I can or the other way around? Since it has been years since I have lifted, it makes sense to me to start my training by focusing on strength and the basic lifts. Hopefully that will that will help with muscle size as well. I want to get as big as possible, to reach my natural peak. Although I like Victor’s look but I would really enjoy Mike’s look just as much since we are the same in term of dieting struggles.
Thanks
I was in a similar situation at 5’11” and 225 lbs before I began working out seriously. Don’t worry too much about size, just worry about eating better and actually physically using your body, the weight will come off as a result. It’s impossible for it not to (unless you have a medical issue). If you don’t have Vic’s Body of a Spartan book, I’d highly recommend purchasing it. It’s money well spent.
There’s a beginner routine in there that has you working out 4 days a week with 3 rest days. Follow that and only eat twice a day AT MOST, and make sure it’s a protein. Typically, I eat 3-5 cuts of salmon with a couple of eggs and maybe vegetables if I feel like it, but not always. I drink only water and nothing else, but I usually put a lemon in my water if I’m not drinking it during my workout.
Following just that routine with no cardio, I lost 20lb+ in just one month. My strength has increased and my lifts are all improving.
However, since I’ve been on vacation in sunny Florida for almost a week and haven’t been eating very good at all, I became so disgusted with myself that I am now going to follow Vic’s routine but do 20-30 minutes of cardio on every off day until I’m lean like a machine. No excuses anymore.
Once you lean out, you can introduce daily carbs back into your diet and cut out the cardio, but until then, just follow the simple program and let nature take its course. Good luck.
Thanks Connor. I do have his book but I just wasn’t sure which way to go first but what you said makes sense in that I need to lay a foundation of just eating better and moving my body (or pushing and pulling something lol). Once I get to my desire boy fat level then I can reintroduce carbs to focus on gaining muscle. It’s all about habits I guess.
Thanks again!
Hi, I heard Victor saying ” i want to look like a statue, with big arms. so i do what i do” . So my question is what you should do, to be lean 7 percent and still have big defined arms. Can you mantain this with food and basic suplements like whey protein, glutamin, bcaa, because i don;t want to use hormons or steroids, I’ m 23 .
Thank you Victor and your blog is awesome
you wont have really big arms at 7%bf being natural. supps like you mentioned wont do shit for that.
Being big is overrated. How many big guys with big guns and ripped abs are there? Millions and more to come. The real thing and what people respect is if you are a good fighter, special forces guy, mma champion etc but nowadays being muscular is so overrated and even gay guys are muscular. Its just another stupid trend to pretend you are powerfull.
a really impressive, intimidating physique is still pretty rare I think, well where I live its not common. Besides, I do want to take self-defense lessons at some point, what kind of discipline would be good for me considering the fact I cant afford to take big hit to the face, especially the nose, because of past surgeries? its a point thats holding me back in my confidence because I know that when shit hits the fan I gotta be really conscious about my face, If I was a good fighter I would be much more mentally dominant.
PM - If you’re strictly wanting to learn a martial art for self-defense I would look into Krav Maga or MMA. Just search for a school that is willing to accommodate your situation regarding your face/nose. I think you’ll be surprised how happy they’ll be to help you out.
Another avenue to look into is specialty self-defense courses that isn’t a conventional martial arts class that you go to 2-3x/week. Think seminars and workshops. If you can find a good Rapid Assault Training course in your area, I highly recommend it. Lot of straight to the point, no nonsense self-defense techniques to handle yourself no matter what the situation is. I’ve touched on a few topics I learned from them on my blog regarding fighting with weapons if you want to take a look. Hope that helps!
Thanks
Enjoyed the Pride-Cast from the two of y’all. I’ve been using a Pro-Hormone (Legal) for several months and through diet and hard work have been able to increase my bench by 70 lbs. I also just got my hands on Mike’s juicing books so I will be trying out juicing.
My standard diet is:
*Boneless Chicken breast
*Brown Rice
*Boiled Eggs
*Salad
When I wanted to lose 20 lbs I followed this diet:
* 5 eggs for breakfast
* 1 lb of beef for lunch with broccoli
* 2 cans of tuna
I still have some more weight that I need to lose, but I have seen results from the above meal plans.
Your friend,
Dylan
Excellent podcast as usual, I’m glad you started to do more podcasts lately, I been reading your blogs for couple years now and still your posts are so interesting.
In my opinion being big for the sake of it is useless, you will just be another big idiot if you don’t have the proper mindset.
What’s interesting in working out on your body or bodybuilding, is what it does teach you about what it does take to reach your goals, all the sacrifices, discipline and motivation… before to achieve the body of your dreams.
A bodybuilder with a brain can do everything just look at Arnold.. lifting weights and working out give you more than muscles if you ready for it.
I agree with many of the things said in this podcast for sure.
Anyway for those hitting the gym hard you can get some extra motivation visiting my website http://iampumped.com/
haha victor is gonna talk about selective androgen receptor modulators, never would have guessed.
looking forward to it
I”m so glad that I found weight lifting…. It really helped me and it still continues to help me. Whenever I feel stressed out or “depressed”, I lift weights and workout without thinking about any negativity… I just let it fuel the energy into lifting that “one more last rep” before I either collapse or tire out and panting. After sweating my ass off, it’s very hard to feel “sad” … in fact the rush and the feeling I get after lifting heavy weights, it’s so indescribable. I lift weights everyday so it’s weird when I actually miss a workout… like I feel like my day was incomplete so I make a habit of not missing a workout day at all. We humans eat, sleep, drink water everyday so why miss a workout? It always baffles my mind when I see fat obese people squandering their life and time away. I also do not understand when I see frail weak men (not including handicaps.. I’m talking about able body men). I think every men with self respect should lift weights and try to be strong and take care of their body with right diet.
I totally hundred percent agree … STRONG MIND AND STRONG BODY …
The strength that I gain from lifting weights and working out gives me the feeling that “I can achieve anything as long as I put my mind and body into it”… it also helps me focus better and just feels better overall…
Great post, I myself am 6’3 215, not quite as big as I’d like to be, but getting there. To most people, i’m massive, but I still feel like 10 more pounds would fill it out.
Being huge is nothing but benefits, aside the crapshoot it is of trying to find clothing.
By the way, vic, I made up a blog, through your hostgator set up. It’s called Master of Being, I’m curious to what you think of the name. It’s basically a blog dedicated to optimizing human physical and mental performance.
I have a bunch of articles written up but only one posted up thus far, I’m in the process of deciding on the short term and long term goals of the site.
Check it out. masterofbeing.com
Vic, what would you say is a good bf% to be walking around at for a natural guy?
I’ve been down around 6-7%, looked great shirtless but felt tiny with clothes on, and living in the UK I’m not exactly down the beach very often.
Up around 12%ish I look better in clothes but I miss the cuts.
Just cut the difference (say 9-10%) and see how that looks. A little trial and error goes a long way.
Find a level of muscle and definition that you like the look of and keep it there.
Hey Vic and Mike,
Great Podcast. Loads of real world and great information. I agree with the getting big thing. That has been my goal since I started training. I am currently 265 pounds at 10% BF. Many people mistake me for a wrestler. LOL. You guys are bringing a great service to every Bro here.
Also, The guy you mentioned Vic; the popular youtube bodybuilder. I think I know who you are talking about. Yes he did endorse a particular brand of supplements for a company that eventually let him go. He no longer competes but still follows the bodybuilding life style. He began producing two supplements of his own, which I tried and liked. And, also he is financially independent due to his realestate investments and other investments. The $4,000 he made a month would probably be considered something extra I would think. I appriciate his honesty as well. God Bless guys.
Flawless quality as always Victor. I enjoyed this PodCast.
I have one very important question and it would mean half a lifetime to me if you would take the little modest time to answer it.
I notice that you and Mike, and the others that share your mentality have stated more than once that leaving the U.S. benefited them immensely.
I’m in this stage of my life where I have planned to apply for immigration to the U.S., though where I come from, it is immensely hard to do so even if very qualified. The immigration thing will take me years to work out. But as you and Mike talk, I feel is this what I really want?
Namely I am beginning to think I might not want to go to the U.S. but I don’t know anything so I really can’t decide.
Why do you and Mike and the like say that leaving the U.S. was one of the best decisions?
Could you please explain with sufficient detail.
It would be colossaly appreciated.
Thanks again.
Victor,
I just bought Dandelion Root today. Thanks for the recommendation. How many mg per day do you recommend taking?
2 caps 3x per day.
Yes indeed. The lion does not get messed with for a reason. Nor does the elephant. Some people may never hit lion status in life but a cheetah or leopard is no small task either and gets repect. It is true, you ARE defined by how you look by the common person. Why do men drool over good looking women in shape? Why are more doors open for them? Because they give off a presence that is GOOD. Why is Mike Tyson patted on the back by people while they say “Mike, you are the best!” Because he can beat the living crap out of you. That’s why! Sheesh. Even Ronda Rousey a woman, gets respect and pats because she upper her game physically.
Every time I read a Victor Pride article, I KNOW I am reading a home run hitter. Not a singles hitter. Article after article swings for the fences. Does anyone seriously doubt what is being said in this article is not true? I have gone through periods of working out and periods of not( currently do and will continue till I fall over dead) and for sure PUNKS who were A-holes when I was not working out suddenly pat you on the back or at minimum say nothing when before they would look to bust some chops,.Simple laws of the jungle.. You want lessons on real life? Go read a Victor Pride article. Reality baby!
Vic, good stuff (as always). I’m recommending your blog to everyone I care about.
I’m basically a skinny guy that has some shape put on by moderately training for 6 months. After I’ve had an injury on my right arm I wasn’t able to train for about 5 months and I’ve just recovered and started kicking it again. I’m now following your Spartan routine and I love it! One question if I may. I have a pretty low budget for supplements right now (up to 80$ per month) so I was wondering which supplement would give the best boost to my current stage and training (except for Whey protein which is usually take a shot of after training). Basically, a skinny guy that has low body fat, visible muscles but wants to get big statue, just like you! :) Thanks and best regards from Sarajevo.
Wizc, if you’re looking to gain muscle, there aren’t many supplements that are going to make a huge impact unless you’re going to get into steroids and such. Creatine helps with your actual workouts a bit, but at the end of the day, getting big is a process with few shortcuts. I haven’t read Vic’s BoaS book but I have no doubt it’s quality material (you might also look into John Doe’s “Becoming the Bull” eBook too). Follow Vic’s book to the letter, eat a caloric surplus with plenty of protein, get plenty of water and rest, and make sure you’re getting tons of nutrients from leafy vegetables.
I read somewhere that an average person can put on 1lb of muscle a month if they got their shit together. That doesn’t sound like much but it quickly adds up. Keep chugging along and don’t lose heart.
Thank you for your advice and a positive reply Jacob. I would just like to add that I am completely aware that supplements won’t magically make me big or anything like that. My question was simply about which supplement I should spend my extra money on for a little extra “boost”. Besides creatine, I was thinking about testosterone boosting products and similar things, such as Compound-5 from 1stPhorm but, to be honest, I haven’t done enough research to make a decision on my own. I’m open to any suggestions. Thanks.
Great podcast.
One supplement that I’m a big fan of and pairs really well with caffeine is L-Theanine. By itself, it helps with mood and anxiety, but taken with coffee it helps focus that caffeine rush and provides a really good synergy. Especially espresso.
Also helps to eliminate that jittery feeling you get after too many cups of joe.
Green tea has both compounds present but I’m not sure how much you’d need to drink to get the same effect as a pill supplement.
You would never get the same effect, because as you’re consuming more theanine and thus green tea, you’d be consuming more caffeine.
The point of the supplement is being able to control how little or how much L-Theanine you’re getting, whether it’s with green tea, coffee, or no caffeine at all.
I prefer the powder, by the way.
Good to know. Thanks for the info.
No problem, bud.
Awsome podcast!
I’d been following you for almost a year, and this one was enlighting.
Keep up the good work!
Top quality podcast thanks guys. Victor, what are your body stats as of now? Just to try and gauge your body comp as a reference. Height/weight/bf?
Cheers
Being big doesn’t necessarily mean a person can gain respect, and being small doesn’t necessarily mean a person always gets stepped on.
Take a look at BRUCE LEE. He was small as fuck but commanded all the respect he could get even by men twice his size. During combat, these big men were pussified in his presence. Though I agree that being big does make a person more confident, I have to say that it is the exception rather than the rule. True confidence comes from within, and is not based on physical measurements.
What if you’re under 6 feet, like 5’8″ or 5’9″. I’m smart, fit, I’m focusing on size now, and yet won’t people still look down at you if you’re on the short side?
What would you do victor if you were 5’8″. Would u consider leg lengthening surgery to even the playing field? it’s extreme but with money you can get the best treatment.
man forget about that lengthening shit. 5’9 is not that bad, its actually the average height. And if you get very muscular you will get respect. I know a guy who is even shorter than that and he was fit and all but then he started gear and he became really impressive. A fucking Pitbull. He commands respect and he is intimidating, even at his height.
Hi Victor,
How would you add muscle if you had no access to weights/the gym?
I’ve followed BOAS for a long time now (you actually sent me a t-shirt and featured my review on the sales page) and I have bulked up over many years. But, due to travel, I have lost some of my shape. I know it will come back when I hit the weights again but at the moment I can’t find a gym where I am.
Is bodyweight training good enough?
Thank you if you answer this! The podcast was fantastic. I listened to it twice and will be implementing your challenge of eating those foods 6 days a week and McDonalds on the seventh day.
I think that with you and Mike working together, you have the best podcast around!
Best wishes,
Ben
Ben, you might look into Al Kavadlo. He trains exclusively with bodyweight exercises and can show you quite a few variations to make pushups, pullups, and squats much harder.
I did this routine for 3 months @ 3x/week and had insane results:
Pushups 30/29/28/27—>21/20
Pullups 10/9/8/7/6/5/5—>5
Dips 20/19/18—>10
Chin ups 10/9/8/7/6/5/5/—>5
11 total circuits is what worked best for me. Total reps done
255 pushups
55pullups
155 dips
55 chinups (My best time was 40min22seconds)
Do them as a circuit (no rest between exercises) with as little rest between circuits as needed. Time yourself so you know what you have to beat the following workout.
serioulsy, cant wait for bad guy bb. will it be a website or what?
ha ha I’m 6’4 212lbs low body fat ~10% muscular training 4 times a week bench press squats and deadlifts and chin ups and dips all the good stuff… so anyway just wanted to say maybe it’s for someone else… but never got any looks from girls never any girls were showing any interest they don’t give a fu.k I’m like vacuum in space invisible piece… nothing complete thin air …. be it bars street mals or beaches …. then only girls who see me smiles at me will be in shop who wanna sell something then miraculously I became visible otherwise I’m nothing…. that’s is all what i can remember in my 30 years of miserable life
”my 30 years of miserable life” if you talk like that something tells me you dont walk around tall and proud, maybe people around you can see that you dont respect yourself.
Think you nailed it, PM. Muscle isn’t a fix-all. Don’t expect to get muscle and be successful with women, life, etc. It supplements your attitude, confidence, and lifestyle.
Hey The a Power of Your Subconscious Mind by Joseph Murphy is a book you need. We become what we think so reprogram yourself for the better.
Also- don’t off yourself over a silly pussy hole man. I don’t like prostitution but it’s healhier than suicide or going Elliot Rodger.
Also Victor Pride-
As I read your site I wondered where in the States you were from?
Id guess Ohio or Vegas you don’t seem SoCal (a lot of the native guys there talk like fags IMO you’re brunt like me so Id guess Chicago).
Also-
I think being a hobo in Bali or Costa Rica would be better than the low payed cubicle drones life in America. I could camp on the beach over working my ass off for peanuts in a miserable place with feminazi women.
Hey Victor,
Just a quick question:
What do you think about high fat foods? You explicitely mentioned low fat Beef in this article.
Your earlier posts spoke very positively about high fat foods (animal products).
A good day to you my friend
high fat is better for natural trainer because of testosterone. when you are on gear you inject test so you don’t need as much fat, that’s why.
This was the best podcast I have listened to in awhile, it’s a shame that most people will be ignorant of this and not take the great advice that you both have given. Thanks for putting in the time and effort to improve our lives, greatly appreciate it. Cheers from a guy in melbourne australia
Sick article. And Yeah there is too much yoke in this picture LOL. I certainly see the benefits of being both big and strong. No question. No one respects skinny dudes
Vic your voice is so fucking delicious I can’t help but imagine you holding me tight camping together our tent stranded in the rain. You look in my eyes but I look down. You rumble quietly in my ear, “I want you to be big”.
No homo.
Hey Vic,
I had the something like that happen to me too. I was at the gym and got a massive back and tricep workout in before I headed to the locker. I went from 202lbs - 226lbs of muscle from just sticking to free weights and compound exercises. I walked in to the basketball court and noticed this hot chick I knew back in highschool. I started talking with her and she just couldn’t take her eyes off my body, with a huge smile on her face. I knew I could take her to my apartment and fuck her that night. Her boyfriend was on the court playing basketball and looking at me, so I looked back at him (Never breaking eye contact) and he eventually looked down and turned away while I talked to his girlfriend who was just quacking at me.
I can’t stand basketball or any cardio because I have a naturally athletic build (End up burning up my gains). So back on topic. I went to the pull bar near the mirror and cranked a awesome pump for my BI’s and Lats. I had a sense that someone was watching me after my second set and looked to my left. There she was standing at the basketball court door looking at me. She never took her eye’s off me and I didn’t with her. I eventually walked over to a bench for some skull crushers and laughed my ass off. The other guy’s in the gym thought I was crazy, but I just grinned and finished up my workout.
It’s awesome being big. I love the looks and the list goes on. This is why I love this site. I can’t stand beta motherfucker’s.
- Awesome Podcast man
Thanks,
-Cameryn Smith
Haven’t read the transcription yet, but had a question for you Victor.
How do YOU define pride? I see many definitions of the word, and was curious as to your take on it.
Thanks.
PS: Appreciate that there was a transcription. A hearty thanks to whoever recommended it. It’s nice to see you branching out into other formats, but I don’t always have the time or privacy to listen to the audio..
Hey, Vic, how’s it going?
Thanks to one of your older posts, I’ve been reading “How to win Friends and Influence People”, from Dale Carnegie. I’ve been wondering, what do you think of this book, after four years of that post? Coud you recommend another book similar to this one?
Carnegie has a better book called How to Stop Worrying and Start Living.
Added benefit: women smile at you while they ride your dick
Hi Vic. I just want to say I feel so blessed to have found this website. I’m a young college student, and after voraciously reading your blog, felt like you helped me move my life to a much positive direction. There are SO MANY things that I improved in my life, all stemming from B&D. You helped me switch my major from a completely useless one to a STEM major, a move that will impact my life greatly thanks to you. You motivated me to start lifting again, and lift with discipline and intensity. This simple thing is changing my life for the better DRASTICALLY. I feel like lifting hard is quite simply the single best thing any man can do to improve their life. You really drilled into my head the reality of taking care of your outward appearance, and thus improved my wardrobe to the point where people actually compliment me on being well-dressed. You convinced me to quit everything that’s wasting my time, including social media and video games COLD-TURKEY, and I took up manly hobbies such as Boxing thanks to all the free time that came with quitting these things.
I can go on and on about how this website and your work helped me, but I think you get the point. You leading me to Mike Cernovich and Danger & Play also helped me even more! I personally don’t like goodlookingloser, because Chris pushes a message that trying to hook up with women all the time and your social life is your MAIN priority. I personally feel like those are side priorities, and things that hedonists pursue mainly. I feel that it’s much better to get a nice girlfriend as you advised, and that focusing on making money, not on women, is the key to living a good life. But that’s just my view.
Other than that, THANK YOU SO MUCH. And also you said somewhere that you hope Bold and Determined will be read to the grandchildren of your readers, and I just wanna let you know that I’m definitely going to make my kids and my grandkids learn from the lessons taught by Bold & Determined. This site is like a diamond in the rough, a central source of such practical wisdom for men to live good lives amidst the reality of the 21st century we live in.
Glad to hear it Seattle dude.
Just to let you know: http://www.infinitythinkers.com/how-to-pick-the-right-wife-partner-serious-qualities-to-consider/
many of the concept written here are copied by some post you posted years ago.
Fantastic post, Vic. More truth, cutting through the nonsense we are often fed through other sites and particularly fitness magazines. Bold and Determined - an inspirational site.
Hey Vic, everyday I check your website hoping that you’ve posted something new. Your info has been very valuable to me and has improved my business and my lifestyle overall. Please post more often :) Ciao from Italy
Very informative
Victor what’s your opinion about Pride?
As you know pride is one of the 7 deadly signs, why do you embrase such word as your last name?
Because pride is good. An appropriate level of pride is a sense of calm assurance and self respect, stemming from one’s achievements and abilities. It’s that feeling you get when you’ve done a job well.
What’s bad, and I would argue the bible frowns upon, is vainglory… Which is what people assume you mean when you say pride.
Victor, are there any Bold and determined coupon codes for strong supplement shop?
No there aren’t, but that would make sense. Let me see what I can come up with.
These are my GYM shoes they’re BADass I got them in place of chucks since I’ve never liked them and the soles are rather hard.

Hey Vic im lucky. My parents are giving me a good pakistani islamic shy girl. Im 22. Ive had sex with a lot of british women but theyre nothing you wld be happy with in the long run. Right now I know this is a one shot opportunity. I live in the UK and want to make money ( im a part time taxi driver who wants to build several businesses and already has bought an hotel). Should I marry this 18 yr old girl knowing full well that she will become a responsibility. Women like these arent to be found in the UK. In return she will help me focus more on money and less on girls.shell do all the cooking cleaning and sucking. If I do marry her. What is your womans day like. I can imagine they cant be cooking and cleaning all day. You implement some exercise in their daily routine? Can she eat steak n eggs just like I do?
She does whatever she does in the day. Aside from cooking and cleaning she watches tv, plays iPad, grocery shopping, taking care of our pets, doing laundry, things like that. She eats whatever she wants, she cooks whatever I want. Steak and eggs - if she wants to. If not, no problem. I don’t recommend steak and eggs for women unless they’re fat.
Lmao this comment cracked me up. As a fellow Brit I can confirm what your saying is true. British women aren’t marriage material, the ones that are marriage material are already married. The single women in my experience are over promiscuous, bombarded by so many options thanks to social media who are all fighting over 10% of the men who want nothing to do with them.
Vic,
Did some research on the Osta-Shred/Anafuse stack and decided to run it.
I also got some on-cycle nutritional tips from your boy JD.
Got the goods today and immediately started my cycle.
Will keep you posted.

Is this site a joke? All i see is an egotistical man who is clearly so insecure that he creates a muscular body not for practical purpose but to enshroud his own anxieties from view. Having read a number of his articles it has become exceedingly clear that this man is racist in suggesting that the black population is something we should have nothing to do with, is sexist in suggesting that women are somehow inferior to men and is homophobic in suggesting, within this article, that he and his beefy buddy are somehow ‘better’ men than a gay man. How do people view this sit as anything other than a joke? Victor pride is an ego encased in human form who has only a very narrow view of what it means to be human and has somehow convinced himself of his superiority to ‘the average Joe’. He has been indoctrinated by the capitalist lie-hook line and sinker. I have no doubt he will reply to this comment with the word ‘pussy’ or some other form of obscenity showing just how stupid he is in believing he is somehow better than others.
Pussy.
read ‘the power of now’ mr ego you might learn something!!!
Pussy.
have I struck a nerve mr ego? Is your insecurity being revealed??
I’ve read the power of now and also a new earth by Eckhart Tolle. I’m not sure if these are the ones you are referring to ? good books mainly bog standard Buddhist teaching mixed with western psychology to deliver to his intended audience. Don’t think that Buddhism is the be all and end all of spirituality though. Victors teachings do something that Buddhism isn’t the best at, and that is to honour and embrace the sacred masculine, which is under attack in the western word . This gets into hermetics and shamanism though which is far more in-depth and predates Buddhism by thousands of years. The problem is you come on here attacking victor claiming that your opinion is some how more superior than his? Unfortunately you have fallen straight back into the ego trap by zoning into what you deem to be negative, ignoring anything positive victor says, thus becoming egotistical and judgmental yourself.
Man, I don’t agree with all of Vic’s views, but you know what? That doesn’t matter. I’m not here to pat myself on the back for finding some guy who says things I already agree with.
I’m here because the man walks his talk, and I can learn from him.
Awesome podcast!. So true about your body being your resume;
Our bodies are basically our front to the world - why wouldn’t you want it to be the best it can be?
I just read a comment for book “The Color of Money ” from Amazon and it fit what Victor’s ideology.
Below is the comment
Tevis has a great understanding of what drives certain people to excel at something as opposed to just getting by in life. The winner’s mentality is at the heart of this novel — as it was in The Hustler — but now the idea is centered more around not giving up, despite what society tells each of us about what we can or cannot do (based on factors such as age, etc.).
Felson’s midlife crisis is the bane of his existence, and it is only the acceptance of who he is and what he loves to do that can deliver him from his ennui. Relationships and suburban comforts are merely distractions for Felson. He needs to get back into the game that made him touch greatness when he was in his 20s.
Hi Victor,
I’m Matteo. I want say thank you to you because about 1 year and half ago I bought your guide 30 days of discipline. I did it, not all, but the best I can since I’ve bought it. I’m still improving.
My body and my mind has change. And with them all my life.
Thanks.
I enjoy reading these blogs. If it weren’t for this blog I’d probably would’ve been on shit sites like facebook and other bullshit that wastes time.
By the way I’m glad that you don’t have a “buy me a beer” button but instead books that kickass.
Is it just me or is it uncanny how Victor reminds me of the character Serious Sam from the video game. Lol I guess I can see Victor being the last man on earth and the only one capable of defeating an entire alien invasion by only himself and a shotgun.
Victor reminds me of a villain of some Marvel movie :D
Really hammers in and reminds you of all the rewards you get from putting in the hard work! It’s not always pleasurable but the results of proper dieting and hitting the gym are well worth it!
Cheers,
KE
“Lift some weights and eat some steaks” is the stupidest slogan I ever read.
As if eating dead animals will help you look cool and strong.
Have a look on this website, some of them are strongest than you:
http://www.greatveganathletes.com/bodybuilders
Proof that there is absolutely no correlation between eating fucking steaks and being strong.
Waiting for your answer saying that I’m a gay probably because I care about animals and this is not a street bad boy gangster full of testosteron mind.
You do make a good point about killing animals for food, but such is the way of life. I checked out the vegan people. Yet, all of them I believe had to have eaten meat somewhere along their lives. I know Jim Morris has for a fact. I don’t recognize any of the other people. The same as me. I felt compassion for the death of an animal for food and became a lacto-ovo-vegetarian. Vegan? I’ll do that one when I reach 70.
I can really relate to this podcast. Growing up, I was always slightly bigger and stronger than my peers, but then I decided I wanted more. As a soccer player, I wanted to be the man on the field everyone was afraid of challenging. I wanted to be THAT guy. As it turns out, this was actually quite easy. However, my father who was once a sprinter stressed the importance of maintaining my flexibility. I never really managed to get that NFL player look, but I did manage to get the Ronaldo look. I look normal with the shirt on, but I look like a beast with the shirt off. I also maintained my flexibility. Which was a plus. Right now I’m really getting into my body, and I hope to look like superman soon…
Hey Vic, is BAD Guy Bodybuilding still going? I remember you saying that there would be a bbing article every second Monday or something awhile back?
No. John Doe is saying everything I wanted to say: http://johndoebodybuilding.com
This is the second time I listened to this podcast, and now I got the transcript.Sweet!
You guys are right about training balls-to-walls when you’re young. There is no better feeling in the world than doing some heavy squats, following it up with some deathlifts and ultra heavy shrugs. And the next day high volume back and chest day and doing all of this twice a week. I basically train my whole body 4 times a week and then add in some isolation work as needed.I don’t even remember when was the last time I was sore.Sure, the bodyparts that I worked may feel somewhat sore but a day or two after, the stiffness, soreness is all gone.
What I have noticed though is that the day after these full body workouts,it feels as if I had a hangover because of all the volume that I did the previous day.But I don’t care,I love this hangover feeling, that’s why I kill myself in the gym every time and I wouldn’t have it any other way.Overtraining can go fuck itself.
I love the podcasts.
I often listen to podcasts and youtube videos while doing daily errands like showering, shaving, dishes, mopping my kitchen floor, making tea, taking vitamins, straightening up, etc.
I connect a waterproof bluetooth speaker to my computer and take it around the house as I do these things.
It helps me to feel twice as productive since I’m doing tasks that I need to do while absorbing knowledge that I can take action on once my daily upkeep errands are finished.
Keep recording if you can.
I’m listening.
All the best,
D
Well this article both, impressed me and put me off, at the same time. For the most part it’s a good one. It intends to motivate men to adopt a healthier lifestyle and be more muscular but it also tends to promote incorrect notions.
Women generally tend to like bigger men. People generally tend to respect more if one if bigger. Though anyone with enough real live experience and unbiased observation knows that women dont necessarily want bigger men. There are so many other things that influence that. And they are with not so big men. As one person righly pointed out in a comment, it has more got to do with height and refore perceived manliness. People might tend to respect more if you are bigger but really…is the correlation that strong? I think not. If one really is adamant on blindly believing all this, then i can only imagine that they’ve spent time either mostly among big people or just people with strange, skewed outlooks. Hence their skewed beliefs. As for bigger people earning more money… that’s total BS. Not even partially correct. Period.
And what is “big” or “small”? Who defines if one is big or small? Does the author realize that there are people if different bone sizes and therefore different muscular looks? If there are 6 different muscular guys with varying bone thickness and height, are the biggest looking among them only worth calling BIG? The rest of those group are big too. You wouldn’t. All them small and lazy would you..? Or less “manly”? But again.. BS mainstream ideas and misconceptions about all things related to bodybuilding are flooding the world.
Get big (and healthy too). Get muscular. It’s good for you. Really it is. Biggest benefit is feeling good and being able to do things more. But if you are not big or not big yet (i.e. still in the process of getting big), then don’t take this article to heart and let it decrease your confidence when you are out there. See things in perspective and not just from the POV of the body/ muscles. Say you start appearing big at the point 1 year from now (assuming you start now), then are you going to walk around feeling puny and under-confident until one year from now, waiting to feel manly enough? I hope not. Again, keep balance and look at things and life in general with a balanced perspective. I can only imagine how harshly judgmental or condescending the author might be in his life towards people who are not big in his view. I’d like to think they do not; that they are kind, sensible, well-rounded too with an understanding of people, cultures, and myriads of other things… not the gung ho, macho type, kicking-dirt-in-your-face, big and muscular “real man”.
Again, people are better off keeping things in the right perspective and think intelligently.
