If you say you are going to do something you had better follow through with it. When you do not follow through, the people whom you told of your plans will think “that’s what I thought. He could never accomplish that.”
How many times have you heard a motormouth talk about all the things he was going to do and he never did any of it?
When you don’t tell anyone anything and then you accomplish something those same people will look at you with a sense of awe and respect. And jealousy.
When you speak of your plans, your brain feels like you have already accomplished your goal and you have less drive to finish what you start. When you don’t speak of your plans to a single soul then your brain has no reason to think it has been accomplished. You will still have that fire and passion for success.
Lesson: Don’t say nothing to no one!
Stop talking and start doing.
Explanations are for the weak. Actions are for the strong.

Victor, this is such a true article.
Every time I open my mouth about a new “venture” or “plan” it never goes through, I lose drive.
And the shit I never say to anyone, and I go through with it, people are amazed.
If you open your mouth to people it gives them a chance to shit on your parade, try to force you not to succeed. They become a roadblock and by not driving straight into it, you avoid them.
Great site, great article- BUT- I would offer that sometimes when you tell your inner circle you’re going to do something, you feel more pressure to accomplish it because now people are relying on you to do what you said you were going to do.
So from that perspective, if you tell the *right* people your intentions, they may stay on your ass and make sure you follow through.
Keep up the great work, man!
Hey Victor
BUT does this mean that one shouldn’t write training logs, diet logs, etc on forums then? cause one is usually saying what their goal is, and the whole workout log etc is about HOW they will reach it?
No, not saying that at all.
But in forum logs, sometimes one writes their goal like etc by june 21st I will have lost 40 pounds. So you’d say that is okay, but one shouldn’t go around and brag about his goals and what they’re going to do?
Well, shucks. Guess it’s a good thing I just finished this latest post, and have the e-book in the works.
Silence is the code from now on.

This psychology makes a lot of sense. Everytime I get all pumped up about a new idea that is badass I talk to my friends about it. But then I never follow through! It’s like the 3 day buzz just dissapeared and it doesn’t seem exciting anymore. I will try try the keep it to myself aproach for my next idea, so still motivated!
Very true.
Back 6 years ago (when I was 13) I wanted to prove I could be better at (Australian) football than everyone else in the school, because my Dad was a good footballer, but I was shit because, at the time, I wasn’t interested. I trained hard, got stronger, more confident, believed in myself, and the next year I came 2nd (not first, because I missed a third of the season due to injury) in the B&F count, and another year after that was the only person to represent my region in the state side.
I ended up tearing my ACL, and have had a knee reco this time last, but I am recovering, getting back up to 220lb of lean muscle (currently 198lb ~13% at 6’5, so skinny…)
Luckily I know I have other opportunities other than just being a professional sportsman, and while I am going to college and Uni, it is cheaper in Australia, and I know what I’ve wanted to do since I was 15.
Some people don’t know the meaning of ambition, or how bad you have to want something to make it happen
Was Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles one of the strong silent type?
