Subj: The magical blog marketing strategy that guarantees you an audience
—
I get asked a lot of questions about marketing and advertising.
So many readers think that because I'm the #1 authority in this blog world that I must have run marketing campaign after marketing campaign.
The answer is… I have and I haven't.
I run my own versions of marketing campaigns, but what they think of as marketing campaigns, I have never run.
I have never done advertising elsewhere and I have never drawn out some kind of marketing map.
Cost per click, ad rates, buy rates, all of this is Chinese to me. I can't read it. Traditional marketing means nothing to me.
However, I do have a marketing and advertising plan and it has been wildly effective.
I judge how effective my marketing is by these 5 words: You have a new sale.
Those are the only words that mean anything to me and I see those words every day, multiple times per day.
Even after so many years of playing this game, I'm still making sale after sale.
Would you like to hear what my marketing strategy is?
This is how I do it…
I am a simple man and I keep a very simple plan.
My marketing plan is so simple that most people cannot even see it.
I have probably told people the million dollar blog marketing secret one thousand times.
Yet I still get asked always, “How do I market my blog?”
This is how…
Write really good articles.
Allow me to explain how this plan works so effectively.
Here's a hypothetical situation…
Let's say you have written a mediocre blog article. You have decided to market this mediocre blog article on every marketing channel you can find.
Your advertising and marketing campaign is very effective and tens of thousand of people see your mediocre blog article.
Do you wake up to see the magic words (“you have made a sale”)?
No, you don't.
You spent your hard-earned money driving traffic to your blog article, but there was one very important ingredient missing.
Because this ingredient was missing (a great article), nobody stuck around to buy something from you.
They clicked on the ad, spent a few seconds browsing your mediocre article and then they left.
However, you still have received tens of thousands of visitors, at least you can turn them into regular readers, right?
Wrong.
Since your heavily advertised article was very mediocre, these ten thousand readers will never return.
They have no reason to return and unfortunately for you, your advertising campaign was a waste.
You spent all of this money to get readers to your article but you did not spend the time necessary to write a really great article.
You followed all of the most up-to-date marketing and advertising rules and your hi-tech marketing strategy produced no results.
Now let's look at the Bold and Determined marketing strategy…
I do no “real” advertising or marketing.
Instead, I spend all of my time writing the best articles on the internet.
I make it my business to impact the reader in such a way that they cannot deny the power of the words.
I hook them from the beginning. I put all of the fire into the words, I put my entire world into the words.
I assume no marketing or advertising will ever exist, so I must make every article the best it can possibly be.
I make sure they are hypothetically punched in the guts and their heart starts pumping when they read the words of B&D.;
I make the work impossible to deny.
I don't ask their permission, I don't put my faith in some outside ad strategy.
By simply writing great articles again and again…
I MAKE THEM WANT TO RETURN AGAIN AND AGAIN.
And do you know what happens?
Because I make them want more, I always wake up to the magic words…
“You have made a sale.”
How do I do this?
This is exactly how…
I write really great blog articles.
An Easy Way to Write Really Great Articles
I say “just write really great articles” and you say “ok, but what does that mean?”
Let me explain a little bit.
A really great article is an article that jumps out to the reader and commands them to read.
A really great article starts with the title. The title must be great or they won't click.
- Good title example: 10 Things To Do In Lima, Peru
- Bad title example: Lima, Peru
- Good title example: How To Travel To Lima and Save Money While Doing It
- Bad title example: Lima Travel Options
- Good title example: How I Almost Got ROBBED In Lima
- Bad title example: Crime in Lima
The good title makes you want to click because it is interesting. The bad title does not make you want to click because it is boring.
After the title comes the introduction. The introduction is the very first line of text in your article.
Too many people waste this valuable space and start their articles with dry and boring bits of nothing.
Keep the intro short and powerful. Ask them a question or give them a bold statement.
- Good intro example: “Are you tired of being a loser?”
- Bad intro example: “You know I was thinking about writing this article for a while and finally I got around to it and I was gonna not publish it but then I decided to publish it and so here it is and I hope you get something from it because I think it's a topic that needs to be covered which is why I wrote this article about it.”
- Good intro example: “Most doctors are quacks.”
- Bad intro example: “You know, my grandma went to the doctor yesterday and got a flue shot and today she has the flu and I started wondering ‘gee, I wonder if doctors are really actually helping people with all this medicine or if really they're just trying to make money' so I thought I'd write an article about so I hope you like the article.”
Cut out the crap and start with a bang.
Grab their attention and with each line of text, pique their curiosity more and more, always building to the next line.
In the middle of the article, teach them something. They're here to learn from you so treat your blog like a business and give your customers what they want - knowledge.
End the article with a “call to action” of some sort. Give them a next step. Ask them to do something or buy something, never leave them with nothing else to do.
Whatever you do, ALWAYS leave them wanting more.
If you follow these guidelines and write a really great article, guess what you will get…
A constant supply of new readers to your blog.
Great Blog Article = New Readers
People read really great blog articles and become impacted in a way they never can be impacted by lesser works, no matter how well advertised.
When they come here to read a new article they are so emotionally impacted and motivated to make their own mark, they must return to B&D; day after day, year after year.
Because they are so positively impacted by the work, they tell 2 friends about this great blog called Bold & Determined.
Those 2 friends go to read a new article, any article because they are all spectacular, and they are punched in the guts.
They become addicted to the words and they tell 2 more friends about the great world of B&D.; Those 2 friends tell 2 friends tell 2 more friends and so on.
Eventually you have a pyramid of hungry readers below you, salivating for every new word.
You are at the very top of the pyramid you have created, where you can count your dollars and cents with a grin.
All of the most advanced advertising campaigns in the world cannot replicate the benefits of writing one great blog article.
If you have 10 great blog articles, you are on top of the mountain as there is no competition.
If you have 100 great blog articles you have entered the world of the marketing master, without ever running a marketing campaign.
In the world of blog artistry, marketing and advertising are pointless and ineffective.
Even if you receive tens of thousands of visitors, nothing will happen if you didn't follow the Magic Marketing formula (write really great blog articles).
And if you do follow the Magic Marketing formula and you do write really great blog articles, it's a waste of time farting around with marketing and advertising campaigns.
Who Has the Magic Marketing Touch?
If you have the ability to write really great blog articles you need to spend your time writing really great blog articles, as perfection does take a very long time.
If you don't have the ability to write really great blog articles then you are in the wrong business and all of the marketing and advertising in the world will not save you.
But, but, but, but, but….
If you always write great blog articles you will always wake up to the same words I wake up to…
“You have made a new sale.”
And…
You will get the added benefit of actually making a difference in a person's life.
The Prize of Changing Lives
They will come to you daily and say how you have changed their life and helped them in ways no one else has ever helped them.
In this simple way of writing great blog articles you can change the world and you can change the life of many people around the world.
They will write to you directly to say:
“Your blog changed my life.”
If you follow the Magic Marketing formula and write great blog articles, you will get so many comments like this they start to become ordinary.
That is because extraordinary becomes your new ordinary.
If you give the work just a little bit extra you get to wake up to people expressing their gratitude to you and your work, and it will always put a smile on your face.
What's better than changing other people's lives?
Well, actually, there is something mildly better than changing other people's lives.
The best thing about following the magic strategy is…
Changing your own life and actually making money from your hard work.
As great as it is to change lives, it is greater to be paid well.
$$$$$$$$ = Happy life
Everybody wants to make money and everybody wants to make a difference.
Most of them will put half effort into their articles and full effort into their social media marketing.
A few of them will put no effort into marketing or social media and they will put all effort into writing great articles.
The one who call themselves “marketing superstars and advertising gurus” will disappear within a few months.
The ones who buckle down and do the hard work of writing the world's greatest articles will be here day after day, year after year, always waking up to the most beautiful words in the world…
“You have made a sale.”
The Most Effective Long Term Marketing Strategy on Earth
Each and every article I write is a brand new advertising and marketing campaign.
Each article is a new chance to change a life and make a dollar or two.
And wouldn't you know it? This strategy works long term.
Heavily marketed mediocre articles come and go, but the greatness of B&D; lasts forever.
The great articles of the past do not disappear, instead they gain traction with each passing day, changing your life and even changing mine.
Just because I wrote it 5 years ago doesn't mean you read it 5 years ago.
Many people read it for the very first time yesterday or today.
And then they get hooked and start their journey through many years worth of archived magic.
Along the way there is ample opportunity for them to change their lives and for me to make a dollar or two.
All the while I'm on to writing the next great article, preparing to create future magic for the next generation of killers and real-dealers.
(And creating a nice bit of wealth for myself in the process.)
How's that for an effective marketing campaign?
Until next time.
Your man,
-Victor Pride
PS - Many people think blogs are no longer in style just because video is very popular. These people are very wrong and many people are starving for great new blogs.
If you believe you have the ability to write great articles, I recommend you start your blog today and take advantage of the Magic Marketing formula that guarantees you will always have readers for your blog (and build a little bit of wealth for yourself).
Because the right time is always when they say “it's the wrong time.” Little do they know, the best time there is… is right now.

Proof that this marketing plan works is that I just found and read this article by typing boldanddetermined.com into the browser and refreshing to see if there were any new articles. I did not click an ad, follow a link, or even an e-mail. That’s the power of a catchy name!
I wish more people thought about art like this because too much art is being made with a “modern marketers” mindset and thus is not timeless.
After following your advice and writing each and every day I have recently been rewarded with my first email subscribers. If you want to be great at anything in life you must practice practice practice until you are great. A wise man once said;
“It takes as long as it takes”
No truer words have ever been spoken.
PS: Thanks for The Last Podcast on the Left recommendation. I can’t stop listenting to it!
Your friend,
Nick G.
Made an order on BADnet just before I went to bed last night. And the badmin already made my site by the time I woke up.
That’s some motivating efficiency right there.
Been taking a lot of action today. This evening I’ll cook up an article.
I’ve got a lot of work ahead of me to make my “You.Inc” a valuable venture.
But now’s the start to start.
Thanks again, Victor.
Not sure what you will be writing about but kick some ass.
Best of luck.
-Luke
Greetings victor,
This was another great article but you already know that otherwise you would not have pressed the “post” button.
What advice, if any, can you give a guy like me who has absolutely no writing ability at all?
Im not sure i even have anything worthwhile to say which is paramount to writing a good blog article. You have a very exciting and interesting life and.my life is filled with mediocrity and boredom. I did have a crazy, up and down life with a crazy EX, a present day wife who just left one day and never came back. She left all her shit here and didnt come back for it.
I sometimes feel i could of help to young people just starting out in life because of my tragedies but i have no success to point to so who would listen to me?
All i have now is a pile of mistakes and trainwrecks from here to California. However one glimmer of hope for me is i have found my VOICE, which i mean in the literal sense. I can actually sing and have very.good range but the issue now is how do i ttansmute that into a career? Im going to try AMERICAS GOT TALENT next year and just leave it all on the stage and let the chips fall where they may.
Sorry to drone on. Thanks again for the great article. Tim
Stop complaining.
Use less words.
Add some SPACING to your text.
And finally…
Get a little better every day.
Probably the best writing advice I’ve ever seen.
You underestimate yourself.
What would you say to yourself when she left you? What do you know now that you wanted to know then?
Write it. Guys that were left by their girlfriends and wives would be eager to read a good article about such situations.
I think you realized what you did wrong. I think now you see that you might had low self esteem, you might be treating her like a princess, which is good but NOT TOO MUCH.
May be you would say that crazy GF with ups and downs is not good relationship material. You would recommend to choose more calm girls two guys that want good stable relationships.
See, I right now extracted good value just from the 15 lines of your text. Think how much can you share with people if you dig deeper in yourself and stop viewing yourself as a shitbag?
Start working on yourself and stop beating yourself up.
Victor Pride and Mike Cernovich have good poing that you can create YOU, INC.
Every moment in your life in EXPERIENCE.
Don’t cry about it. Write about.
Victor have great advices on how to do it. I gave my two cents, too.
Good luck.
Thanks for this. Reminded me of when you mentioned how your ‘blog posts’ were better than other people’s books (filled with fluff).
“It is my ambition to say in ten sentences what others say in a whole book.”
-Friedrich Nietzsche
Reminds me of this quote. Victor takes this approach, and excellently executes it.
I check my email in the morning and if I see BOLD & DETERMINED that gets instant preference over anything else (even if it has been many weeks).
It happens automatically like my brain is expecting something concise, punchy, and useful by opening that email - so you certainly know what your talking about when you say ‘always leave a reader wanting more’.
And once again a very useful post, thank-you.
Thanks for sharing this Victor, what stuffed me up was listening the the WordPress suggestion of “having your intro a certain length” and all that crap. Goes to show the guys behind the screen suggesting that might me book smart, but that is NOT life smart. You only get that from experience. Been waiting for you to write this article for years. The days finally come.
P.s. Will you ever bring back how to find the holy grail? That article was a masterpiece, one of your best! It lit a fire in me like nothing nothing else.
Holy Grail is back right here: https://boldanddeterminedarchive.com/holy-grail/
Wow.
This article has made the flames within me burning even stronger, like adding logs dipped in oil to them.
The most moving part was one of the comments you posted where the man found your site by searching for a way to cut his hair, and fell into the rabbit hole. His whole life changed, and what he seemingly was looking for was a fucking haircut. Now THAT is amazing.
I saw what you were saying in regards to Magic Marketing. But now I FEEL the words, and have a deeper understanding.
Folks, take advantage of this Million-Dollar article in whatever way is best for you. I know I will.
Regards,
-Justin N.
“The great articles of the past do not disappear, instead they gain traction with each passing day, changing your life and even changing mine.”
So I have a questions (you can respond on podcast):
- Does your older articles still current? I remember once you wrote something like (can’t remember where) - have a cheat day when you can eat any garbage you like (because we need a little poison in our body, sterility will kill us). Now it’s like - eat only meals, be clean. Which one you recommend now?
- Do you read your older articles and sometimes correct something you once wrote?
This article right here is why I will always be a die hard reader of yours regardless of how much I disagree with some of your posts.
You’re actually a hero because you’ve changed the lives of so many people. If it wasn’t for B&D, then I wouldn’t be so far today. I must say that I actually prefer your older articles. I’m reading B&D since 2013 by the way.
Great article, this is 100%. I do think SEO is number 2 in importance. I typed in boldanddetermined.com on moz.com and see lots of ranked keywords. All these ranked keywords brings in 20000 visitors per day, thanks to google. One can write the most amazing article ever but if google doesn’t show it on the research results then it won’t matter. That’s how I grew my dropshipping business, I ranked certain keywords.
Here is a tip to know if your writing is great.
Do people sign up for your mailing list without you offering them anything in return?
If so, they did it not because they want anything from you (get this free ebook when you sign up, get this pdf when you sign up) but because they liked your content and they want to know the instant there is more.
Yeah. That’s all.
Create great pieces of art and repeat. Change lives and get rich.
Yet they complain that its hard. Bitch please, getting up early in the morning, driving in traffic, getting to your gay ass job, slaving away looking at the time, then coming home and coping from the stress is hard.
It ain’t hard. Just need blind faith, which most don’t have, but the ones that do have it, will have the gates of heaven opened for them.
And yeah you don’t need high amounts of traffic, you need great pieces of art. I made sales before having 20-30 visitors a day only.
Also nobody has the answer, there is no answer. Victor doesn’t have the answer. All there is, is what works.
Start with the principles but from there on out its all you, do what you gotta do, and don’t look for answers from somebody and something else.
As much as it may seem so, nobody is above you, not Vic, not top notch CEOs. Nobody is more human than human like Vic said, from there on out you create the rest of the reality, thru belief, with blind faith.
Be real as fuck without inhibition and spill a piece of your soul to create those great art pieces.
See a recent piece of mine for reference. There’s no way this piece doesn’t touch your soul to some degree.
http://lifeofml.com/dreams-shattering/
The euphoria and ecstasy you get after creating such pieces is incomparable to drugs, steroids, highs, sex, etc.
Much genuine love uninhibited.
There’s a YouTube channel called Income School. They preach the same content philosophy. There is something to it. Put up lots of great, helpful content, again and again. Then like fine wine it needs to age before Google starts showing it some love. Unfortunately in the game of Internet Marketing that’s where most people fail. Putting out consistently good content and patience. Most can’t wait and end up throwing in the towel. In the words of the late George Michael, “You gotta have faith.”
Hey Vic,
I have a question for your podcast tomorrow. I‘m young and know what it means to be a man and a leader. When my girlfriend acts like a typical female and starts a non-sensical and time wasting argument, or raises her voice, would you act uninterested and unphased or would you shut that shit down and talk over her?
Ignore her. Cut attention. The male currency is sex. The female currency is attention. You trade attention for sex. She does the opposite. All she wants is attention. But you shall never reward unfavorable behavior. Punish by cutting attention.
My all-time favorite blog is iron & tweed. Nate’s casual writing style and honesty had me reading there for years. It’s not like he writes about exciting traveling experiences or such. Just really good informative articles that any normal (I dare say average) family man can benefit from. I hope he fires that baby back up eventually.
One thing that a lot of readers don’t understand is how much shear time It takes for a single great article to be written.
Been following your blog since probably like 2010-2011.
Just curious Vic, would you say with the blog, has the income plateaued after a while, or does your income keep accumulating and growing year by year.
Cheers
as usual
americans are big men.
Thanks, Vic. Some great and insightful things written here. The KISS stystem at its finest. It’s far easier to fiddle-fuck with the details than get down to difficult task of writing something great. Thanks for the reminder.
Your style is straightforward and catchy.
