Imagine two people…
The first person does everything the right way, by the book, all the time.
The second person doesn't do everything the right way. The second person just does whatever it takes to succeed.
Which of these two people do you think are going to succeed?
The person who does everything the right way by the book? Or the person who does whatever it takes?
Easy answer. The person who does whatever it takes, the second person, is going to get all the results.
Why is that? It's because doing everything the right way is actually the wrong way.
WHY YOU SHOULDN'T DO THINGS THE “RIGHT WAY”
If doing things the right way was actually the right way, then everybody would be rich, wouldn't they?
Everybody tries to follow the same path going the “right way” but very few people succeed. The ones who do succeed always did it in a different way than what is taught.
You hear people say: “His methods are not the right way, but he's getting results. I just don't understand. His methods are wacky and out there. It's not the right way. I'm doing everything the right way. And I'm not getting any results and he's cheating and stealing all my results that I worked so hard for.”
THE “RIGHT WAY” IS THE WRONG WAY
Everybody follows “the right way” and they get nowhere. That should be obvious because everybody who succeeded did it out of the ordinary.
They did it outside of the box. They didn't follow the stupid right way method that everyone else follows.
They just did what it takes to succeed and they got everywhere.
Those people, successes, are called “cheaters” by people who follow the right way. Cheaters succeed. Everybody who does things the right way does not succeed.
THE “RIGHT WAY” VS THE WAY THAT ACTUALLY WORKS
The right way is a delusion. It was designed by people who got nowhere and then they told you to do the same thing.
Unfortunately, many people still listen to what is the “right way” instead of listening to what is the correct way.
The right way pretends to be good and wholesome and ethical, but it's an illusion. You either get from A to B or you don't, you either get results or you don't.
So how do you actually get results? Results come from doing what it takes! Results don't come from following the plan and doing things the “right way.”
“I'm doing everything the right way and I'm not getting anywhere and that person is cheating and getting my results.”
The next time this thought pops into your head you can think about it like this: “Hmmm… maybe that person is doing things the right way and I've been doing things the wrong way this whole time.”
Everybody knows what the “right way” is. But If it were truly the right way don't you think you would see results? Don't you think everybody would see results?
The only people who get real results are people who do things out of the ordinary.
If they're successful it's because they're doing what works. They're doing it the actually right way.
If you're not successful it's because you're doing what doesn't work.
The “right way” is only the right way to stay in the middle of the pack. To go straight to the top, you've got to do things the “wrong way” and do what it takes.
You'll find that when you do what it takes, rather than what's the “right way”, that it's actually easy to succeed.
YOU HAVE TO DO WHAT FLOYD MAYWEATHER DID
Ask Floyd Mayweather how hard boxing is. It's as easy as breathing to him. To you it's hard, to him it's easy.
If whatever you're doing is hard, you probably weren't cut out for it and you're probably wasting your time.
Seriously. If you find whatever you're doing to be very hard, you're in the wrong career.
They say “hard work and blah, blah, blah. Study hard, hard work. If it's not hard it's not worth it” but the people that say that are always unsuccessful.
Doing what you're good at is not hard. It's only hard for everybody else but you.
What you excel in is not hard. What you make your fortune in is not hard.
It's tough. It's grueling. It's grinding. It's constant. It's draining. It's tricky sometimes. It's never‑ending, but it isn't hard.
Just ask Floyd how hard boxing is. He'll laugh.
Do what Floyd did: Stick with the one thing in your life that you excel at rather than jumping around to many different things that you fail at.
FIND WHAT IS EASY AND MAXIMIZE IT
You have to find whatever it is that comes easy to you and then maximize it.
When you're good at something, it comes naturally to you. It isn't a chore and it isn't hard.
If it's hard for you to do, it's not your number one thing.
That's why I write, that's why Floyd boxes and that's why you should do the same thing - pick something that you excel at and stick with it.
But what about making money?
Here's the secret to making a lot of money: You can make money doing basically anything, as long as you're good at it.
All you have to do is be you. All you ever had to do was be you.
They money always follows talent. Just ask Floyd.
You just be you. I'll be me. Floyd will be Floyd.
Everybody else will be busy working hard and doing things the “right way” and getting nowhere.
You'll be too busy to care because you'll be too busy getting somewhere.
When you get there, remember to give better directions to the next guy in line.
Until next time.
Your man,
-Victor Pride

Vic, still curious as to what your ailment was when you weren’t “in the zone”.
You’ll be able to read about it when my High Energy book is released.
The exact same thing can be said of getting women.
A lot of guys struggle with ‘love’ and finding ‘the one’ because they’re doing all of the ‘right’ things, “Being friends, paying for dinner, buying her chocolates, complimenting her.”
They just can’t understand why the dick on the Harley is getting the girl THEY’RE supposed to get.
Even the part about it being hard for you - same thing. “Man, that chick is hard to get!” For you, maybe. But some guy somewhere is tired of her shit, I promise you.
This is a very insightful post, man. Can be applied to a lot of things.
When it comes to something being hard, how do feel about getting good at things you hate? I’ve heard it said that if you can’t get good - or at least learn to work hard - at things you hate, you’ll never be able to do it with things you love.
The idea being: The problem isn’t the work, its the worker’s lack of discipline.
You gotta have fight. You gotta have heart.
And your comment is also insightful.
Thank you, sir. I try to add to the conversation when I can.
‘Connor McGregor, you’ve taken everything i worked for’,Nate Diaz said.
Nate,as a fighter, thought that the right way,the way of a fighter,is to just get in the octagon, beat everyone, work your ass off for 10 years and eventually you will succeed.
He was angry. This new guy is talking his way into fights, earning large amounts of money and championship fights.
Of course McGregor is a good fighter, but he did things in a unique way.The MacShow.
‘I want to fight your ass’,he said.He called him out.How many fighters have done that before? And he got his shot.He got his million dollars and recognizion. He did it in his own way.
Now if you pay attention, everyone is trying to be like McGregor, trashtalking everyone or like Diaz calling out other fighters.
None of them came close, because they are not McGregor or Diaz. But they learned that they have to do things differently to make big money or be recognized.
I just put a sticky on my monitor stating, “Do what it takes”!!!
A powerful guide to scrap doing what made me fail. Thanks
I’ve been saying the same thing for years. Most people who follow the “rules” don’t get where they want to go nearly as fast as those who think outside the box for more effective methods. The analogy I like to use is someone who wants to become an Hollywood actor. The traditional way would be to train for years, get an agent, go to auditions, hopefully get a small part, then work you way up to bigger and bigger parts until you are finally noticed by somebody big and get a “big break.” If you’ve got the ability and you’re dedicated this is certainly a way to do it. But what would a more effective way be? Well, you could move to Hollywood and sneak into a couple a movie premieres, then meet the big-shots face to face at the after-party. Who do you think has a better shot at success, the random guy who goes out and auditions, or the guy who spends his time partying and becoming friends with A List director, producers, editors, and casting directors at movie premieres…
A life-chaning article…for those who understand! Great job Vic! 2.5 years back in one of Osho’s lessons, I read three words that changed my life - EASY IS RIGHT! He was big on effortlessness rather than effort but the problem is that some people take all that and think this guy is asking you to be lazy. Hard work has been conditioned into us. All the real successul people know that it it ain’t fun, it ain’t the way.
The question we need to ask ourselves then is, “Where did the ‘Right Way’ come from?” FOCUS ON ASKING THE RIGHT QUESTIONS, NOT FOLLOWING THE ‘RIGHT WAY.’ Whoever originated that “Right Way” Must have a self-image and a way of life that is in line with the way we wish to be living in the future. THAT IS NOT THE CASE 99.9% of the time when we hear of this ‘Right Way’. Awesome article, my ninja
100% with you on this one Mr. Pride
This is ESPECIALLY true with the self-improvement community.
You see these knuckle-heads all the time. They do everything by the (self-improvement) book:
- They’ll meditate 4 times a day
- They’ll write their mission statement
- They’ll visualize their goals every night
- They’ll read some random post on the internet and do amazon-publishing steps 1 to 10.
But they won’t do the ONE damn thing that matters in business: finding an original way to get customers to buy from you.
I’m not dissing meditation or visualization or reading. They’re all great. By all means do them.
But your customer doesn’t give a shit whether you meditate or not. And for most of the self-improvement boys it becomes a nice convenient distraction from the one thing that stresses the hell out of them:
—-When it comes to business you are on your own.——-
You can get some guidance here and there from books and whatnot but nobody is going to give you steps 1-10. That’s on you to figure out.
They can’t deal with the uncertainty. Even though that’s EXACTLY where the money is. While others quit because they can’t handle not-knowing, the bad boys push on until they step on a gold mine.
My little rant.
This x1000.
I’ve found myself getting trapped in the perfection game…
I would over analyze every little detail and if my day doesn’t replicate what’s taught by success “gurus”, I would get down on myself and end up doing nothing.
It held me back for months until I read gorilla mindset.
I read that book over and over again until it finally clicked…
When I find myself being lazy I say to myself:
WHAT WOULD THE GORILLA DO?
He sure as hell wouldn’t pout about nothing. He’d get the damn shit done. Then reward himself with a basket of bananas.
What would the gorilla do?
I have it written on my wall. Just a quick glance and harnassing my primal gut instinct sets the catalyst for productivity; alpha male shit.
is gorilla mindset worth it for a college student?
x
It is less than 10 dollars on Amazon. It is absolutely worth it.
I’m amazed at how you have surpassed yourself once more, Vic! I’ve read all your articles and this is the greatest one! You have just touched a very deep revelation of matrix programming: people can’t operate properly outside of their programmed purposes. They keep failing always and always again if they persist doing so. But if they cooperate with the inner commands of their matrix they will not just successfully fulfil them but get some powerful assistence along the way and rewards they couldn’t even imagine.
Keep winning at life!
I tell people that if they don’t want success BADLY ENOUGH then they don’t want it.
You have to want it badly and do ANYTHING it takes to get there, that is what differentiates between ordinary people and extra ordinary people.
If I want something then I’m willing to go to edge of the earth and to hell’s gate just to obtain what I want. This is the mentality that people should have.
Majority of the people are not in this stage yet. But wanting something badly enough isn’t really enough if you want others to help you.
When I do business with people, I may help people who are willing to go out of their way and use anything necessary to obtain their goal. And that is “I MAY…”. The big picture is IF they give me a value then I help them in return.
If you show people that you are willing to go out of anything and any way to get what you want, that can garner sympathy and understanding BUT giving people a value is the only way it’s going to get them to give you money, time of the day and help.
If you want to make a lot of money, think of value first not money. Money will come when your value is high enough. Think about what you can do and what value you can bring to the masses. People only care about you as far as your value is concerned and what you can do for them at the end of the day.
When people expect rich people to help them and buy them lunch just because they are rich, I laugh at that. In fact, it should be the other way around. Since you are expected to pick a brain and learn from Rich successful people, and they are taking the time to sit with you, you should at least pick up the tab. That $35 dollar lunch would be worth the knowledge you gain from successful rich people who share you their advice. That can change your life. Even if you gain one advice, if it’s something that works then with the $35 lunch you paid, it’s damn worth it. But people just penny pinch and think small minded and fret over price. Think like contrarian and in terms of value and time.
Usually the people that get most upset when other people find an alternate path to success are the ones that are upset that they themselves didn’t think of it.
Their small-minded lack of creativity was their downfall, but they project their negative feelings about themselves outwards villainizing the successful man.
You see this all the time with people talking trash about successful entrepreneurs.
Thanks for the post,
D
Great article!!!!
Thank you Victor.Listen to yourself,Before you listen to others.
(that even means your parents, teachers, preachers,”life coaches”,”bloggers”
“Lovers”and everyone else in between, trying to tell you how to live your
life) Nobody knows what’s in your heart or mind ONLY YOU DO!!!
Yeah, sure they can help here and there,BUT at the end of the day it’s all up too you!!!!
BE YOU!! You are you,Nobody can do what you do,you cannot do what other people can do and that may sound negative but… it’s the truth.
There is only one of you and will only ever be one of you.Embrace your uniqueness to it’s utmost. There is Gift’s,ideas and talents and abilities that you have,an only you have. And its your “life purpose” to figure out what that is and let the world see it,don’t be afraid of it.
Embrace it.Give the world everything you have no matter what it is BIG OR SMALL doesn’t matter just give it to the world GODDAMMIT!!!!!!
It will not be easy, that’s a given.
But, at the end of the day, just remember that:
You can do whatever the fuck you wanna do
Are you still in Thailand?
Floyd would say boxing’s hard.
“It’s one hell of a sport”.
But he would say it’s A LOT easier than a lot of other things he could have done.
Cool article Vic.
Just do you.
The right way vs the way that works, I go with the latter, with all access to information right now you will be hard pressed and information overload, I advice would be read all but take some and create your own way. thanks for sharing!
