9 years ago I wasn't a schlub like you, but I wasn't where I wanted to be.
I was stuck in a rut.
I was an entrepreneur but I had basically quit working hard and I wasn't doing too much.
I would hit the gym every day, I would eat my meat only diet with carbs on the weekend, I would bang little misses here and there, but something was missing.
That something was Asia.
I had to get out of the United States and that's what I did.
I flew to China and my new life began.
I spent a year there and during that time I build up the meat and potatoes of this great blog called Bold and Determined.
One day I knew I'd make my fortune from it and I was patient.
I didn't make a dime for the first year and I didn't even try to make a dime for the first year.
Unlike so many of you dumb fucks that try to write a book your 2nd week in business, I waited for one full year until I had an audience.
When I had an audience who wanted what I was selling, here's what I did…
I wrote an ebook called 30 Days of Discipline and I gave it away for free on Christmas Eve.
Can you read that?
I did the work and I gave it away for free.
You know what that does?
It builds trust with your audience.
The theme you may recall with B&D; is the theme of building.
Build the business, build the audience, build the trust, and then finally you can build the bank account.
You cannot skip the steps unless you're a dumb fuck who always wants to be poor.
Me?
Actually I don't care if I'm poor or rich.
I only care that I don't have to work at a job. Mission accomplished, and I accidentally got rich in the process.
What I care about, and all that I ever cared about, was doing my great work.
And here it is, motherfucker, it is BOLD AND DETERMINED.
Today marks the 8 year anniversary of the Website for Winners.
- 8 years untouched by any competition.
- 8 years of being the greatest blog on planet earth.
- 8 years changing the lives of tens of thousands of men (and even women).
Say happy birthday and say it with reverence.
I've been kicking your fucking ass for 8 years already.
Can you believe it?
It seems as though it were barely yesterday that I wrote 3 Years of Pride.
But good golly gosh, let's take a walk down memory lane…
8 years ago today the BoldandDetermined.com name was registered.
8 years + one day ago the very first article appeared on B&D.;
It was a very simple article: 8 Reasons Every Man Should Lift Weights
Here at the Website for Winners I have always stuck with the philosophy of simplicity.
The philosophy of simple self-reliance has served me well.
I said goodbye to paychecks a long damn time ago.
And since then I've been destitute and I've been rich.
Rich is better than broke, but both are better than working your life away in an office like some regular schlub.
I admit that I am not a regular person, I am irregular. You could even call me impractical.
They say great entrepreneurs cannot have jobs and it's absolutely true.
What they forget to tell you is that jobs are for slobs.
Real men create their own business out of thin air, using nothing but the power of their own will.
Did you ever hear of alchemy?
It isn't some bullshit about turning lead into gold, it's about creating something out of nothing.
It is about making your imagination come to life in the real world.
That's what I did, like a magic man, I made my imagination become a reality.
I'm not a real entrepreneur, I don't know a damn thing about business, or accounting, or the myriad tax laws (and I pay way too much in taxes).
I'm not a writer, I can't write for shit and I don't know what semicolons are or what they're used for.
I'm not a blogger, I never wrote a blog article in my life.
I only pretend to be a blogger.
What I am…
Is a deliverer.
“I come to deliver a message.”
The blog is my medium, but my message comes from beyond.
I only pretend to be a blogger to bring the lost message of self-reliance to you.
To do it I had to become an alchemist.
I created this great world of B&D; using my imagination and my will.
I willed myself to make a million dollars from a blog, all in the time it took you to dig yourself into debt for a college “education.”
If you don't want to call it alchemy, you can call it magic because is just an illusion of blogging when actually it is so much more.
Like a magician, I snapped my finger and made the rabbit appear (and I made sure the rabbit was holding a check for me).
*tada*
They say you need a thousand fans to make your mark but I guess I'm special.
I started making money when I had 500 solid readers.
I gave away 30 Days of Discipline for 6 months and then I sold it for $7.
Then I wrote Body of a Spartan and sold it for $7.
I slaughtered the game selling $7 ebooks.
Those ebooks paid for me to live in the land of smiles… BANGKOK.
Then I started Badnet.com so that you could not have a website today and actually have a website tomorrow. Like magic, your website can appear out of thin air.
“But Victor, how do I do it???”
Do the hard work, be patient for a year, and will it into existence at exactly the right time.
What else do you want, a blueprint?
I already gave you the blueprint. It's called Spartan Entrepreneur: Blog Artist.
I gave away that book for free for a year.
I gave away all of my secrets in it and 1% of you listened. The rich 1%, I should add.
So what now?
I guess I'll just keep giving you more secrets.
Secrets after secrets after secrets until you learn the real secret…
YOU HAVE TO DO THE WORK.
It was nothing but good old fashioned great work.
When the morons were on social media pretending to be working, I was actually working.
When they were busy complaining, I was busy building the business.
It all started by doing the dirty work every single day and getting the first 500 ride or die followers.
The plan proved to be effective.
I was able to start making money with 500 daily visitors.
Since then, the numbers have jumped to an average of 10,000 daily visitors.
I made over a million dollars following the steps outlined at Badnet.com.
Over 10 million people have read Bold & Determined.
Bold and Determined is the most copied blog in the history of the internet.
This is with no help from any large media outlet and with no marketing or advertising campaigns of any kind.
Pretty good for a pretender.
Like I said, I ain't no fucking blogger. I ain't no writer. I ain't no businessman.
I don't know shit about shit.
All I did was think it up in my mind and then make it a reality.
I said to this thing BE and it became.
You want to complicate something that is very simple.
Say to the thing BE and make it become.
No qualifications necessary, no training necessary, no education necessary.
Make it become.
And you can make it become by you yourself becoming who you are.
Don't know who you are?
That's because you are reliant on others telling you what to do.
You have no self-discipline or self-reliance.
You're waiting for a savior to come out of the skies to guide you and make you rich.
*tada*
Here is the guide from the skies here to show you how to wake the fuck up and get after it.
This guide from the skies is called…
30 Days of Discipline.
It is the magic that started it all.
Self-discipline created the life I live.
Self-discipline will create the life you want to live.
And it is only self-discipline that will do it.
In honor of the birth of this bringer of light called B&D; (and in honor of the current 30 Day Challenge) you can buy 30 Days of Discipline for $7 right now before it goes back to full price.
Buy 30 Days of Discipline for $7 right here.
Odds and ends
My #1 traffic source is still Google. 77% people get here via organic search.
What do they search for? Who knows. Analytics via Google has become garbage. They hide your #1 results unless you pay for their marketing and advertising programs.
96% of my search results are hidden in google analytics. I work basically in the dark, guessing that the reader will have interests that are similar to mine.
Relying on robots is a fool's game. Relying on yourself will always give better results than relying on machines.
Facebook is the #1 social media referral source.
DuckDuckGo rivals Facebook as a traffic source.
YouTube is also a very good source of traffic.
Viva La Manosphere has been a consistent source of traffic for years.
Mobile is the #1 way people view B&D; today. By a pretty big margin.
61% is mobile, 33% is desktop, and 5% is tablet.

Do ebooks still sell?
People have been telling me over 6 years that ebooks are dead and don't sell anymore.
I've been laughing at these same people for 6 years.
There is a very serious problem that afflicts western people.
This problem is called incompetence.
People who are not in your field believe themselves to be experts in your field.
I've watched the same people who tell me ebooks are dead scramble to do some consulting work.
They're willing to sell their time while telling me, the ebook king, that ebooks don't sell.
Don't make me laugh.
Ebook still sell if you follow all the rules I have laid out and if your ebooks are good.
My ebooks are not just good, they are gold.

The great news is that in this business, it doesn't matter where you are in the world.
This business exists in the minds of the peoples, not in the country of the people.
You can be anywhere and work from anywhere and reach anybody anywhere.
A great deal of B&D; was written in Thailand.
Many people find this surprising but business is easier abroad, not harder.
Modern technology makes it easy and practical to do business from anywhere in the world.
Gone are the days when you had to stay in the same place to do good business.
I do business all over the world, so I'm free to go all over the world.
You could be too. If you just…
Make the decision to work every day and to never give up.
Become a magic man and make your imagination a reality.
That's all it takes.
Until next time.
Your man,
-Victor Pride
PS - One of these days I'll write a little booklet about the magic.

Happy birthday Victor and B&D! Here’s to the next 8 years!
Calling your readers shlubs. Nice
Congratulations to 8 years Vic, your steadfastness is inspiring.
Happy birthday, B&D!
Also, this article made everything more clear.
There are too many lives waiting for you to change.
I am happy to be part of it.
Thank you, Vic.
Happy Birthday, great article. When I built Only Freedom Matters I learned the game of digital marketing, especially for getting ranked on google. I wouldn’t say I don’t know anything about anything, I would say I’m self thought. By the way, you can see all your search traffic for free using Google Search Console.
“By the way, you can see all your search traffic for free using Google Search Console.”
I know other people care greatly, but I care very little. In fact, I prefer to keep it hidden. The guiding light must come from within.
True, and still the most important thing is quality of content. CONTENT IS KING, and forever will be.
I get excited every time you have written a new article. This website changed my life in more ways than you can imagine and I am so pleased that it continues to grow. Keep up the phenomenal work Vic.
I literally stood up from my chair and said “Wooww” when I saw the eBook sales.
That kind of motivation really does wonders for one’s focus.
Congrats to 9 years, Vic! And to 999 more!
Great job Vic
Keep up the good work.
Happy Birthday to B&D. Although I found this site fairly recently (6 months ago), I feel that it has brought so much positive change into my life. More than all the other fluffy self-help shit. It’s honest and direct, which I love. This site has helped me make tremendous changes in my life and set it on a new course. The best example is the current November 30 DOD challenge. My main goal when I started it this month was to make a single dollar through my website. Since I started it, I haven’t made anything. Although I’m ashamed to admit I have missed a few days of the challenge since starting, it has helped me become hyper focused this time around. Not only did I meet my goal last week, I exceeded it. I made 8 dollars over a few days. Not a big deal to most I know but it’s a big deal to me. 8 X my original goal. I’m confident that it wouldn’t have happened without the challenge and this site. Thanks for all you do Victor.
Good work Victor! Interesting to see London, England as number 1 visitors, my home city!
Nice Post!
Happy birthday to B&D. Five years ago I discovered your blog during my internship in a small company. It was then when I knew I would not spend my life in a cubicle. Too much estrogen, office bullshit and bossing around. Since then, I failed at many ventures and took a shitty job that I quit one year and a half later. I finally found my groove with copywriting and now I earn my living on my own without some asshole looking from behind my shoulder to check if I’m doing my job. I’m nowhere near where I want to be, but I’m moving forward, my mood is better than ever and I feel stronger than before. Your blog has been a huge inspiration and a reminder that I must never give up my goals and dreams. Victor you know how to light a fire in people’s souls and for that, I’ll be forever grateful.
Vic - happy birthday. I think I “met” you (and B&D) in early 2014 at a very bad moment in my life. B&D was one of the pivotal tools to turn things around, and boy I did lots of things since then. Keep up the good work!
I just want to be clear, your articles is what draws people to this wonderful site and the ebooks are what actually makes your bank account filled with millions of dollars?
Great content. I have been a devoted reader for years.
I couldn’t finish the article, before commenting so here’s to a happy birthday!!
You know you’ve made it when you can call your audience dumb fucks and make them question themselves.
I was like: “I’m glad I am not one of those dumb fucks” but then I realized that the only part that I haven’t read from this blog is the Spartan Entrepreneur e-book that I happen to have the First Edition for.
But I obviously got it for free so I didn’t count that as valuable enough at the time. Jokes on me.
I told you the same thing the other day: felt like it was yesterday.
People get married and divorced twice in that time!
Congrats man and until next time,
Lupe Bogi.
As I approach my 4th year of blogging I agree 1,000% with what you said in this article.. For the first 3 years I tried to find the secret and did all of the complicated stuff.
Now over the last 5-months I decided to focus on the simple stuff. It’s no surprise that my numbers have went way up, I make more money, and people engage with my content.
So do as Victor says…
“Make the decision to work every day and to never give up.
Become a magic man and make your imagination a reality.”
-Dylan Madden-
Excellent!
Vic/Nick,
Have you ever taken a briggs-myers test? I would be curious how you end-up?
CONGRANTS!!!
Victor! BIG Congratulation to reaching another EPIC milestone in your B&D LEGACY!!!
B&D is by far the best blog that I have ever come across for motivation, and no bull inspiration on how to be successful… Ive been a reader since early 2014, and I have bought many of your books and I must thank you for the effect you have had on my mindset. Really B&D changed everything for me. I curious. Are you familiar with Dan Peña? His system is QLA. Quantum Leap Advantage. He speaks in a no bullshit way just as you do, and he is a ruthless winner… Have you ever considered mentoring select individuals?
Hello Vic.
I wonder if you still delete comments or allow all of them, or how the comment data is processed. Several of mines don’t appear here.
I don’t know why…
Guillaume
Anyway … I was thanking you for your passion and showing your authentic’way …
Thank you too for the ” Terry Crew on tim ferris ” …. It makes me think about showing my vulnerability …
All my best to you,
Guillaume
Thank you. This was awesome and came at a much needed time. Time to grind.
Victor!
CONGRATULATIONS on your 8th year online and continuous success!
Health and Strength
-Horacio
I`M HERE since year 1 !

My man.
Happy Birthday B&D! 8 years strong and we want 8 more! Haha.
