I was sitting around playing dominoes with a local family.
The grandma's hands would shake if she didn't eat something sweet every few hours.
She called this her family curse.
Another lady agreed and said the doctors say there's no cure.
This line of thought seemed so very strange to me because I know there is a cure.
So I told them.
I said: “There is a cure, it's called a ketogenic or a carnivore diet.”
You cannot “catch” diabetes, you become diabetic by eating sugar and you cure your diabetes by no longer eating sugar.
An alcoholic's hands will shake when he hasn't had a drink, so he takes a drink to make his hands stop shaking.
But how did he become an alcoholic? Was it some family curse that he had no control over?
No, of course not.
An alcoholic becomes an alcoholic by drinking alcohol.
This is how people become diabetic, they eat sugar and develop diabetes. But the diabetes will go away when you quit eating sugar.
Can you guess how they reacted?
They utterly ignored what I said.
They pretended not to hear it.
A bystander, someone who overhead the conversation, became angry and agitated and said “actually, people get diseases they have no control over. These things just happen.”
Sure they do.
I did not bother explaining to them the universal law of cause and effect, but I will quickly explain it for you…
Everything happens for a reason, nothing happens by chance.
Everything that happens, happens because of something you did in the past.
If you trip over a rock and fall down, you didn't fall down for no reason, you fell because you tripped over a rock.
You tripped over a rock because you weren't paying attention to where you were walking.
You weren't paying attention because you were distracted by your smartphone.
All things have a cause.
If you become an alcoholic it's because you drank alcohol.
If you become diabetic it's because you ate sugar.
No disease just develops out of the blue.
Disease develops because of something you did to yourself.
Disease develops because you did not act in accordance with the laws of nature.
In fact…
You cause your own disease.
Because you cause your own disease, you can cure your own disease.
But this knowledge is hard to hear.
Why is it so hard to hear?
Because this knowledge places responsibility for your ailments directly on your own shoulders.
If you say that diabetes runs in your family, it absolves you of any responsibility for your ailment.
You get to keep eating the sugary foods and pretending that it wasn't you who caused your own illness.
Nothing is your fault and you get to be a perpetual victim of circumstance.
98 out of every 100 people refuse to take responsibility for themselves.
They prefer to be sick and displace responsibility than to take responsibility and get well.
That is why you and I, the 2 men out of every 100 who take responsibility, often ponder how we can help friends and family who refuse to help themselves.
To us, it is very easy to accept responsibility and work to fix the problem.
To them, it is an entirely alien concept.
They have long ago given up any concept of self-reliance or self-responsibility.
They have given the blame squarely to the boogeymen of “genetics” or “family history.”
When you do speak up and give them a cold hard dose of reality, they ignore it or they actively get angry.
So how do we help friends and family?
There is only one way we can help people who refuse to help themselves.
There is only one way we can help people who refuse to accept that things happen for a reason.
There is only one way we can help people who refuse to accept responsibility for their own lives.
Here's how…
We help ourselves.
We have to be a role model of physical health and success.
That is all we can do.
Eventually our health and success will inspire in them a change.
When that inspiration to change comes, they will come calling on you for advice.
They will never accept unsolicited advice, they will only accept advice they asked for.
The only way they will ever ask you for advice is if you are the model of health and success.
Be the model of health and success.
Help everyone else by first helping yourself.
Take ultimate responsibility for your life and your health.
Never displace responsibility for your health to doctors or to governments.
Everything you do will cause a reaction. Nothing is outside of your control.
Before asking them to take responsibility you must first take total responsibility for yourself.
If you are not the model of health, success, and responsibility, then all you are is a hypocrite.
And even if you are the model of health, if you give them unsolicited advice you will cause only anger.
The Bible already gave holy advice regarding this…
Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not cast your pearls before swine, or they will trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.” -Mathew 7:6
Advice given that was not asked for will not be received kindly.
This is why we have to hide the ancient knowledge of health and wellness.
Not because we are cruel and wish to keep this knowledge for ourselves.
Rather, because we know the ancient secret of human health and wellness…
“Seek and ye shall find.”
But first ye must seek.
What this means for you…
If you are the role model of health, wealth, and success, and if they actually want to change, they will come to you as their guiding light.
In the meantime, all you can do is turn the light on and wait for those lost in the dark to come and find you.
If they want to find you, they will.
If they don't want to find you, nothing can be done.
If you give them the light before they are ready, they will be angry.
People will defend their vices until they're ready to overcome them.
In the meantime, they will be lost in the darkness…
Because they want to be.
Your job is to guard the ancient secret of health and wellness so that it never becomes lost to those who seek it.
Your job is to always be the light.
Never once can you descend into the darkness.
If you do, the light will be lost.
You are a light-keeper.
ALWAYS.
KEEP.
THE.
LIGHT.
ON.
When they are ready to seek, they will find you by your guiding light.
Until next time.
Your man,
-Victor Pride

This is one of my favourite posts of yours yet. It makes so much sense but it is something we all forget. I have tried to give people advice so many times throughout my life and I can always tell that they aren’t really listening to me when I am speaking. They ask me how to get in shape, so I tell them but then they say “oh well I heard about this way, or I am going to do this instead”. They don’t really want help at all.
I will take your advice about continuing to work on myself and then when people want to change perhaps they will see how my life is changing and will make actions in their own lives because of it.
Great work Vic, keep it up!
This quote is basically a cliche at this point, but it will always hold true:
“Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself.”
Change always starts with you. People wanting to improve the world through other people (especially through government) are doing it wrong.
A longer poem from an unknown author also shares this sentiment:
When I was a young man, I wanted to change the world.
I found it was difficult to change the world, so I tried to change my nation.
When I found I couldn’t change the nation, I began to focus on my town. I couldn’t change the town and as an older man, I tried to change my family.
Now, as an old man, I realize the only thing I can change is myself, and suddenly I realize that if long ago I had changed myself, I could have made an impact on my family. My family and I could have made an impact on our town. Their impact could have changed the nation and I could indeed have changed the world.

For 30 days of discipline, I attempted to do 30 of my “hard” kettlebell workouts in a row… I kind of failed in that regard, but I went from usually doing around 5-6 hard workouts per month to doing 20 in November, a great improvement.
In December I’m determined to do 31, and the training I did in November will make it that much easier.
Thanks for the month of articles, Victor.
Without NLP or manipulation, there is no way to change people. You can only show the way.
This is something I have to constantly remind myself of. I’ve been wanting to cure my fathers type 2 diabetes for a long time. The ill effects only get worse and worse. He never listens to me because I don’t wear a white robe. Like Vic has said before, old people only listen to authorities. Too bad that these authorities have betrayed people like my father for decades. Yet he still tunes in to the news, and goes to doctors appointments religiously. Only to find the same old advice that never worked in the first place. Old dogs I guess….
However, the 30 Days Of Discipline challenge of november has really changed me. I’ll be a bright shining light tower from now on. Shining brighter and brighter with each and every day.
The 100 pushups, situps and squats have become a habit that grows more effortless and mindless each time. I now do more than a hundred in a day. That plus the carnivore diet has also led me to the gym. This is the fourth time I’ve signed up for a gym membership, but this time I KNOW it’s permanent.
The difference is maturity. I’m not a fool anymore. I’ve read Body of A Spartan a hundred times and watched hundreds of YouTube-videos of gym exercises since that first attempt. I walk towards the gym equipment and know exactly what to do with it. I’ve seen the light. And it points towards the iron church. Everytime it becomes more mindless and effortless. It’s now a habit, just like how it started with 30 Days Of Discipline, 30 days ago. Life changed. FOREVER. Just in ONE month.
I wanted to be buff ten years ago but I wasn’t ready. Some things just have to marinate and mature in the back of your head until you’re ready. The same thing goes for the people we want to help and change. We can only expose them to the right info by being a becon of light to them. Just like Vic has been to us all these years. Then we can only hope that this will eventually mature in their heads and that eventually, they’ll come in from the dark and stormy sea and embrace the light.
Thanks Vic for all you do. You have built up light towers all over the world. And this might have been the brightest november EVER thanks to you. Excellent daily articles and weekly podcasts. We all have got our momentum up now. All we got to do now is never stop. Shine bright everyone!
I agree whole-heartedly! To really get people to understand something, telling them directly is probably the worst way.
You have to SET THE EXAMPLE and let them believe that it was their own idea to achieve true health.
Ancient knowledge indeed.
I never understood the elites’ love of foods like caviar…until I started on the carnivore diet.
It’s the fats.
They always knew.
No more slave food for me. My new goal is to be able to afford the choicest cuts of meat and most nutrient dense food for as long as I live.
My eyes have been opened and the world looks totally different to me.
I have tried giving advice to my own mother on several occasions, each time I have received a very angry response and almost been kicked out or home for mentioning the fact that modern chemicals often contain estrogenic compound and cause a lot of problems. Each time I have mentioned this I have been called a nazi or a weirdo. People become very offended when you say something they do or use is bad.
When I’ve mentioned that disease is caused by chemicals and bad foods, they say “don’t be stupid, they wouldn’t sell this stuff if it was harmful”. I laugh at this inside as it is the complete opposite of the truth that most people believe.
I’m dealing with that with my buddies now. They HATE the fact that I’m pursuing location independent income and laugh at traditional marriage. But in a few years they will be crawling to me when I have 5x the energy they have and am about 50x happier.
Until then, just clip the ropes of the bridge. Work on YOU. Even your own family will doubt you and this is normal because they are jealous of what you are creating. This is what I have learned in the last year.
Thanks for showing me the light, Vic
Hi Victor,
Out of curiosity, is there a reason why you don’t offer your books and/or supplements
on Amazon?
Thanks in advance,
T
If you want to be a light-keeper, first you have to go and get to know the dark side.
Astonishing article.
Nice 30 days.
I wonder what you are up to now Vic.
Guess working on the new Red supplements!
I particularly liked the idea of a “Monk Mode” eBook.
You went to China and Thailand if I remember correctly to live as cheap as possible and to build your Blog.
That’s hardcore monk mode and I would love to read more about that.
How to find a cheap location to live in, how to focus hardcore, how to deal with the loneliness of it and so forth.
It would really help me to do the same, I am already living Monk Mode but I haven’t traveled to a cheap country like
Bulgaria, Thailand or Vietnam to save money and go on a little adventure.
I will do that soon tho, I hope you realize your Monk Mode eBook before.
Cheers!

This is a business world, sugar has been created for wanting more by gaining a profit. Unless we grit our teeth and show real determination we cannot overcome these cravings.
Or else go to the doctor he wll teach you the lesson.

Hey Vic,
do you have an idea how to completely recover from PTSD?
I’ve been struggling vor a little over a year now and EMDR therapy seems to have removed most of my stress but I still can’t feel anything. Any advice and tipps?
Need a little backstory.
Had a cold and went to the gym which lead to a myocarditis. After my heart recovered, I noticed I was in constant fight and flight mode, was unable to talk to people, depressed and isolated myself (thought it was still due to the myocarditis) but three months ago a therapist diagnosed PTSD. EMDR has helped but I still don’t feel anything and feel a little depressed, also my libido is low (e. g. I honestly feel and behave like M Corleone). Tried running but It doesn’t help.
The extreme pain in my chest (felt like a heart attack) (about 5x about 1hr within three days in the hospital) probably triggered the PTSD
What’s your diet and drug/medicine intake like?
Don’t take any medicine and occasionally have ONE drink. Since having quit porn about two years ago I completely lost the desire to drink, smoke weed and party and do other degenerate stuff, so i quit (also social media). I eat a pretty balanced and clean diet (made of chicken, beef, pure fruit juice, oats, rice, pasta, etc.). I don’t eat fast food, pork, milk and products made of sugar (occasionally use brown sugar to sweeten), also I don’t use supplements expect creatine when I’m bulking up.
I can feel like my chest is blocked so I can’t breathe properly, It’s like I’m depressed and in a bad mood (even though I never was depressed my entire life). I’m 19 btw.
Thanks for the 30 days of blogs.
This is spot on
I’ve told everyone I know that going Keto will change their life, and solve 90% of their body issue. No one has tried. No one has really asked either.
So I guess this makes my job easier: Just keep doing what I’m doing and hope someone finds my light.
Thanks for the 30 days of awesome
This HAS to be the best article on this blog ever. Makes TOO much sense. One day my light will shine and others will flock to it, that will be the day where I am your competition and you’ll be bitching about “some asshole named Joelsuf who is taking business from me” haha.
You have some crazy ideas that I sometimes don’t agree with Vic, but stuff like this makes up for all of it!
The only way to deal with an unfree world is to become so absolutely free that your very existence is an act of rebellion.

Victor how can I deal with shame from the past? You won’t have any I know, but I went through a period of intense shame and self-hatred a few years ago because of lowering my personal standards one time. It still haunts me and stops me from being who I want to be.
Your advice would be golden. Thank you.
AWESOME POST!! I really resonated with this personally and for family. Thank you. Simply, and sincerely, THANK YOU.
Your writing is so simple & childlike, in the best way possible!! Thanks again Uncle Vic. Can’t help anyone if you’re not able.
