There's a little problem that afflicts a lot of entrepreneurs.
They find success, they make a lot of money, then they become complacent, bored, and they don't want to work anymore.
It's happened to me before in the past.
In my previous career I made a lot of money then I became bored to work. Then I didn't work for a long time. All I did was play with my dogs, go to the gym and eat chicken wings.
I became so bored that I moved to China just to have something to do.
But that was a different time and I was a different man…
Today I admit to you that I'm a simple man and I've found happiness in my simplicity.
I like driving too fast, I like loud music, I like pockets full of cash and I make no apologies for it.
Since I like money I'm not going to stop working, even though I have enough money to live for a very long time without earning another penny.
I don't have to do anything at all but I'm going to continue to build my empire. I'm going to continue because I am going to make 100% certain that I never have money issues again for the rest of my life.
You know why I like money? Because I'm not a moron. I like refrigerators, sunglasses, hotel rooms, air-conditioners, toilets with bidets, sushi and all the other great things money can buy.
Most of you reading this take those items I listed for granted, but I've met people who have never used a refrigerator, who have never owned a pair of sunglasses, have never been in an air-conditioned room and have never been in a restaurant.
That's the reality of the world. Most people alive exist in poverty. They aren't really alive because you can't truly live unless you can afford to live.
I can afford to live well and it's fantastic.
In my day-to-day I see the poorest of the poor. The most desperate of the desperate. So when I hear simple-minded people say “money doesn't buy happiness” I can't help but think that these people are naive and, frankly, stupid.
I've met people who work 16 hours per day in the hot sun and they live in homemade shacks. A few dollars always puts a smile on their face. I've seen first-hand money buying happiness.
So it's not a debate. It's not an if/or. It's not a “yeah, but”. It's a fact - money buys happiness.
But listen, other things make you happy as well. Things like sunshine, freedom, titties, and dogs.
And I'll tell you for certain the biggest thing that makes you happy isn't money, it's mission. It's fulfilling your destiny. It's working the work you were born to work.
That's what makes you happy. When you do that, follow your mission in life, money often comes to you.
Freedom is also terrific and freedom can make you happy. But I want to share with you an open secret about freedom….
The thing about freedom is that when you have too much you can become bored.
That's the affliction that afflicts many entrepreneurs. They have enough money to do whatever they want…..so they often end up not doing much of anything.
Imagine:
- You can do anything you want every day of your life, what if you don't want to do anything?
- What if you have more than enough money that you don't have to do anything?
When that big success happens you often get bored because you stop working and, more importantly, you have no mission in life.
I could very easily be in that same spot right now. I don't need to work, I don't need to do anything at all and I'll still make 10X the average American salary.
It's a done deal already. I already did the work, now I'm reaping the rewards.
But more important than money is mission. Bold and Determined is my mission in life.
It's my mission to bring you this message:
You can do anything you want if you work towards it.
And hell, if you get it and then you get bored it meant that you weren't following your life mission.
But hey, it's better to be rich and bored than broke and bored. In my eyes only a loser could be broke and bored. A broke man should be working 'round the clock to make his money.
So how do you deal with a big success and keep moving forward?
It's a good question because it happens to many entrepreneurs. They make a lot of money then they get bored to work. I've been there before.
The answer is destiny and desire. You have to have some fire inside that drives you.
You have to find what you were born to do. I was born for Bold and Determined, so it's easy for me to never get bored.
What about you? Are you fulfilling your destiny or are you killing time until destiny finds you?
It's clear that most people aren't working the work they were born for, they're just killing time.
So again, what about you? What is your destiny?
Hey, I wish I could tell you what your destiny is. But I only know what mine is.
Like the famous movie mama says, “you gonna have to figure that out for yourself“.
Until next time.
Your man,
-Victor Pride

Just bought B&D Volume 1. Can’t wait to read it.
Thanks Andrew.
This was always my favorite B&D audio clip. I would listen to this while walking to wherever I needed to go - which was sometimes 5 or more miles. I didn’t have a car because living and driving around Cincinnati in some car wasn’t my mission. Buying a car meant I would be like everybody else.
Funny thing was, I was making absurd amounts of cash at the time and forced myself to live in a crummy apartment in the ghetto. I would watch the hookers pass by on the sidewalk while I did pushups. I saw heroin addicts in the alley get rushed to the hospital while I drank red coffee. I had home-made mouse traps all over my apartment to catch the thief of my expensive Irish butter.
I did all of that with the biggest smile on my face - because I knew it was the mission. I was living like no one else would - because I knew I could move to a Tropical paradise in a little while.
The entrepreneurial affliction is most definitely real. I’ve started and failed many little online businesses. I was always making money - sometimes lots of it - but my boredom would always get the best of me. I would stop working and end up broke and right back where I started.
It was super easy to expose myself as a fraud when I was living the biggest lie.
Great comment Blayde!
One thing: that voice.
What a fucking voice man…
Didn´t want the audio to finish
It’s true man.
You work hard. You fail. You work more. You work because the only thing you care about is your goal, your mission.
Then you make a small success. Another one. Another one.
Then you get complacent. You drift off. You know something is wrong but you can’t get your head around what it is.
Time passes by. Something feels off. Until it strikes you again.
You lost the sense for your mission. You lost sight of the bigger picture.
Then you get to work again and overcome all the boundaries you ever had and you become more successful than ever before.
PS yes money makes you happy duh. All those guys who say money doesn’t make you happy will probably stay poor forever. They just straight up reject any money they would ever get because their mindset is fucked.
Money is just a tool. It’s not evil. It’s not good. Use it to your advantage. Use it to get to your happiness.
Great comment, Dan.
Last year, I had a lot of money from my job. Went through it rather fast chasing happiness and trying to get an experience rather than building up myself and others from it. It was a great lesson to learn.
Last month, I understood that working to get money just to repeat what I did last year wasn’t worth it. These days, i’m following the money instead of things that don’t matter. I now know those things I want will come for me when I take care of my needs and be a blessing to others.
Top article as always Vic.
Thanks Shaun.
There is something that is just so satisfying at the completion of your project that you worked so hard on. When you finish and you see the beauty of your work before your own eyes then you feel jubilated.
But that feeling isn’t going to last long because then you ask yourself . .. “what’s next?”…
well if you want to recreate that similar feeling, then keep working more and more. (working for yourself that is; not for others).
You have mission and once you accomplish that mission, there is nothing in the world that can take that away from you.
Would you rather feel accomplished by making a big project like building airplane?
or get the similar feel of joy from multiple orgasm and getting high?
The big projects and mission accomplishment worthy goals are the main meal.
The rest (like your short quick stimulation ones)?
they are just minimal side dishes at best to enjoy ‘once in a while’…
keep at this ratio…
10:1 (below)
work on your mission::::treat yourself with short stimulation quickies.
A man is got to experience all sides and realities of life at all different angles and overcome every one of them in order to feel like an accomplished man.
Anything that is too easy is not worth it. The fun part if always at the challenge because you get to use your mind and body and when you do, good things start to happen.
Try 10:0
I like this one Vic. I can attest to this fact. Most people who say money can’t buy happiness usually have neither.
Generally, people are happy when they dont have a bunch of problems. And let’s face it, money can solve most problems…
I’m alot happier now making $400 a day then when I was making $7.25 an hour lol.
I got one of the easiest 40 hour a week jobs out there and I could easily just stick to this and do nothing else if I wanted to and be fine.
But I don’t. I’m still hustling on the side, I’m still making moves outside of my job to make more money.
I think the money thing is a conundrum. Money does buy happiness, but the best things in life money cannot buy. (True friends, etc.)
But without any money, it’s difficult to have the opportunity to build these things and manage them. It’s hard to obtain and maintain successful friends if your always so broke your having to depend on them all the time.
Likewise, it’s difficult to get that woman of your dreams if you have nothing to offer her. I could go on and on about this.
Alot of rich folks out there who arnt happy. Like you said it’s because they have no mission.
Money can fix alot but it can’t fix a broken attitude/mind set.
It’s all about the journey, not the destination.
Never stop growing never stop doing.
Great article Vic
Great comment, Jesse.
It reminds me the quote from the movie War machine: “Men are imperfect creatures: Left to their own devices, all they really want to do is play with their dicks and eat chicken.” This is what happens when there’s no mission in life.
hahah! Great quote.
Excellent article !
Straight to the point + every single word matters + simplicity in the style of writing = the recipe for a successful blog
I was always playing with the words “passion”, “love”, “dream”, “happiness”, “motivation”, etc but the TRULY CORRECT words are:
“Destiny” and “Desire”.
Yes, those are the only words that can motivate you and lead you to successfully live the life you want to live.
And to add something more:
I believe that the word “desire” is stronger that most people realise. You will feel that when you have already made money and start buying and living your “desires”.
No shame guys in having desires. Absolutely no shame and no apologies to no one.
PS: Get rid off ASAP of the “money doesn’t buy happiness”…..motto of all the losers, perpetually struggling people and underachievers of life in general. Get rid off this bullshit guys as soon as possible. And don’t hang out with people who have this mindset.
Greta comment, George. Thanks.
Great One ViC!
Man,I know this may be off point in this article…I WANT TO THANK YOU FOR INSPIRING ME TO GYM…IT HAS CHANGED MY LIFE.
Your posts has completely erased fear of failure in my system. Thanks again, man.
My man.
Hey Victor, I am Jennifer, now I am in China. By reading this I could say that Victor you are (chutmarika ) awesome. I mean your (lavda) ethics about money is so.big.that i would like to cut it down. Keep going (bhosadike) Man. Write new articles best wishes with you.
There have been scientific studies showing that there is a direct relationship between money and happiness up to around the $70k a year mark.
The effect is huge up to that point and still exists, but to a lesser degree after.
Of course having money isn’t everything, but when you don’t have it, it is everything.
Cheers,
D
Victor mostly doesn’t follow what studies suggesting…
He follows his gut and intuition.
I aspire to do so too.
Freaking loved it to read+listen+absorb to your powerful voice.
I certainly would love more of this.
MAD
Most underrated piece of writing in B&D
