- how to deal with haters
- Mystic Vic's fashion tips
- and how to poo-poo better
This is a great episode and I can't wait for you to hear it.

Opening topic from the previous episode… (7:55)
Is karma true? The great ones all seem to realize karma exists and most people have a stupid understanding of it. Eating an animal is not bad karma; but torturing that animal, or eating excessively with greed beyond your needs, etc would get you another birth as an animal gets tortured. Fulfilling one’s natural needs in a way respectful to the animals and nature around us, which is all God’s creation, will not make you get “bad karma”. Just clarifying for the sake of other readers-what’s your idea?
Graham asks… (18:20)
Have there been any updates to Becoming the Bull/John Doe Bodybuilding Bible? I bought both of the books and noticed they were taken down for a minute from your website; just curious if anything was new. Also, will you ever continue the ideas you started in New World Ronin? I remember you had a new book idea called Full Color Shogun.
Great news: John Doe Bodybuilding is back!
Hercules asks… (18:56)
Victor what do you think of modern and classical art? (I developed a theory that people who like abstract art are not capable of straight thinking I believe they like chaos on their walls because they are full of chaos in their head and have no clear mission).
MoneyStudy asks… (20:07)
Can you talk about how welfare is another means of the elite to control people? Just like the SJWs, people who advocate for welfare act like they’re doing the poor people a big service when in reality, they’re hurting them. Also what has been your experience with dealing with people on welfare? You said you lived in the ghetto for a while.
Sebastian asks… (21:55)
Elaborate on yoga, why do you think it is bad? I’ve had good experiences with the physical part of it, it makes my body very flexible and it is good for blood flow. The spiritual part I do not care too much about but I could see why it is bad. Interested in what you have to say.
Curtis asks… (23:54)
Victor – If you were starting over would you blog or podcast?
Dr. Don asks… (24:38)
I drink a lot of sparkling water. Perrier (from a bottle) and La Croix (from a can). Do you have an opinion on either of these in terms of health?
(25:11) I get that corn and grain are not healthy. The grain that was around in biblical times, however, was very different from the man-engineered grain and corn we have today, by the way. (You can research this.) But with respect to the idea that it’s only natural for man to eat meats and not vegetables (beans, tomatoes, etc). I’m having a hard time understanding this since (according to my understanding), one cannot get all the vitamins and minerals needed to stay healthy from meat only. Can you give scientific evidence that man wasn’t ever to eat vegetables?
Here is your science: http://www.jbc.org/content/87/3/651.full.pdf
Orestes asks… (27:03)
Can you give us tips how to deal with haters? All politically incorrect sites are attacked by feminists and other crazy people, how come B&D; comments stay untouched by them? Have they stopped attacking or censorship works so well?
Humpty Dumpty asks… (28:21)
Do you have any opinions on fashion, i.e. what men ought to wear, Victor? I know you have endorsed the ‘Iron & Tweed’ blog in the past, but do you subscribe to any particular fashion regimen yourself?
Gal Hadad asks… (29:50)
I am a naturally curious person and been always deeply studying things I find interesting. How can one combine intense researching with being a blogger? I feel like being a great content-creator these days is the complete opposite. It’s about answering BIG questions, with SHORT sentences, trying to cover HUGE subjects in a SUPERFICIAL way. Because the internet-users’ attention-span has decreased dramatically you need to find a way to catch their attention and there’s a tradeoff with real, deep research and what’s popular today.
Zacheriah says…
I have suggestions for the guy struggling with poo poo: get a toilet stool online, it raises your feet so you are closer to a squat position.
Clay asks… (34:09)
What is your thought about circumcision?
Dan asks… (34:57)
Victor, I’ve been enjoying the podcast a lot. Thanks for making it. Here’s my question: i read somewhere that all powerful men must have three women in their lives: their wife, their lover and their girlfriend. What do you think? Do all or most powerful men have these relationships? Should a powerful man be 100% faithful? Or you think is simply a matter of preference?
All powerful man are selfish and for good reason: it works. Beyond that, modern women are useful for 2 things: pumping and dumping. Modern wives un-ironically demand that their husband be faithful AND refuse to have sex with them.
Nick Hagood asks… (37:11)
What’s the most unique creature or feature you’ve seen while traveling deep into nature? So far, my most memorable experience was shooing away big white mountain goats while climbing a peak in the Olympics. What’s yours? During the Full Color Godcast, we spoke about the last time you made it out to see the stars, and your article “How To Sleep In A Thousand Star Hotel” is one of my favorites. Are you still looking up at the cosmos?
Blue Chris asks… (39:01)
How can I worry less about what people think of me? I know that this fear has held me back from my full potential, yet it seems such a strong instinct that I find it impossible to overcome it and do what I want to do, unapologetically.
Kyle asks… (40:34)
How to stop hating the sound of your own voice?
Wolf asks… (41:15)
Hey Vic, what are your thoughts about global warming?
Michael asks… (42:59)
I’ve been living in China for 4 years and am looking to leave. You’ve traveled to and lived in several Asian countries. Which one would you say is the best to live and work in? I would like to move to another Asian country instead of back to the US if possible (I’m a white American).
Levi asks… (41:16)
Hi Vic, What do you think about living / working in Japan? I am not a fan of SE Asia, and as of currently am dependent on the IT industry. Options would be Shanghai, Singapore or Tokyo
Chris asks… (45:27)
What does a person do about the withdrawal? I understand your explanation on a logical level… but when I try to give up the drugs/chemicals (especially caffeine), the withdrawals are too damn bad. The resulting brain fog and lethargy combined with the intense cravings render me half useless, something I cannot afford to be in my demanding day to day life and job which requires focus and energy. How does one handle the withdrawal while being able to still show up for work and perform?
Freddie asks… (47:41)
Victor, there is a relatively new trend on youtube. Some channels upload a content they call subliminals. The play binaural sounds and at the same time they add some affirmations that can only be heard and/or understood by your subconscious. The creators of these subliminals claim that they can help you change your personality, your body, and even the color of your eyes. What are your thoughts in regards of this topic?
Chez asks… (50:23)
Hey Vic, What are your thoughts on building a blog based on poetry? Ive seen a lot of info on building a blog that helps people via how to’s and tutorials. Whats your thoughts on building a blog based on emotional poetry and creative writing?
Horea asks… (51:15)
What are your thoughts on Charles Bukowski (the writer)?
2 of my favorite Bukowski pieces:
Benjamin asks… (53:26)
I come from the English upper middle class and as such I’ve been raised to be civil and polite. The older I get the more I find being less polite earns more respect; what is your perspective on when to be polite and when not to be?
Jack Freeman asks… (54:48)
Question for you Vic, curious if you ever used contemplating your own death for motivation? I have discovered this a little while back and just posted a blog post about it. By far the most powerful motivation exercise in existence, Its crazy its not talked more widespread and still mostly unknown.
Will asks… (56:07)
I find that when I am using the computer or smartphone for a while my eyes get dry and feel as if they are burning. I also find my head stiffens up and my brain becomes foggy. Any insight?
Floriao asks (and the topic for the next episode)… (57:37)
Whats the key to happiness?
That's it friends!
Until next time.
Your man,
-Victor Pride

Victor, I hope you can answer these in your next episode.
1. what is your opinion of a single man going to an Asian Massage parlor and getting a happy ending. How does this fit into your conversations about masturbation vs. sex with a woman. Is it the former or latter in your view?
2. share with us your present morning “boot up” routine. and also any evening rituals you have before bed. Including the time you go to sleep and the time you wake up.
Thank you.
Dr. Ron
Man, I am loving these. Keep it up.
Nice podcast, Victor.
I find it interesting how people ask you all assortments of subjects. And I have a few more questions for you.
- Do you believe some people might be more inclined to feel better eating vegetables as you do eating meat? I have a theory that we might be conditioned in some way, genetically or not, to be able to eat vegetables and meat in various degrees.
- Is there any kind of processed meat that you believe is healthy?
- Could you talk about *why* and how cold drinks are bad for us?
This last one you might guess is about something you said some time ago. To never drink cold drinks.
Now, I was confused about that in the sense that I couldn’t understand why that would be a problem. But for the sake of understanding, I decided to test it.
For approximately two and a half months I didn’t drink (or eat) anything that wasn’t in room temperature.
Frankly, I didn’t notice any difference. Then I got back to drinking cold drinks, and I still didn’t notice much difference.
Thing is, I don’t know what sort of drinks you meant. The only things I drink are water and milk, usually straight from the fridge, and have been like that since… forever.
However, I did notice one aspect of this which I found interesting. Cold water satisfies me slightly less than warm water. A few sips of warm water and I don’t even want to smell it anymore. But I can easily take a few more sips of cold water. I found that interesting, I’m just not sure why it is like that.
Now, warm milk is something else. I didn’t like warm milk, it tastes differently, it doesn’t taste that good, it ain’t particularly satisfactory. I’m not certain why either.
Keep doing what you’re doing!
Cheers!
One more question:
- A few years ago you mentioned that you were interested in taking an apprentice. How did that experience turn out?
I’ve read the JBC article and I found it very interesting. Two subjects are very little for a study like that, but I still found them quite interesting. The cited literature speaks for itself.
I’d like to see more information of that kind. Makes me wonder if there is anyone that spends their time summarizing all these incredible studies made throughout the years. In science, people are always competing so much that amidst the noise, knowledge gets lost.
- How many posts had you published before you started noticing a steady stream of visitors on B&D?
Do you think that it’s ok to start a business on a platform such as Etsy, Amazon, etc. while it does violate CENTS from the millionaire fastlane initially, as a business starting out, you get more sales and traffic from the get go. I sell on etsy and make a living from Amazon, but I do have worries when I get an email about issues with my account. At the same time, building an audience and sales channel will take a long time and will never match these channels. It’s a deal with the devil but it’s also allowing me immediate freedom within a year. I’ve started a blog but it just takes away from building more sales product for my main businesses. Just wanna hear your thoughts on this, thanks.
Andrew
Hi Andrew, not Victor but I have experience with what you are asking. I recommend using all of them. I sell my products on Amazon Fulfillment as well as my own website.
The best way to poo poo better is by uping your fiber intake. The best product in existence for this is hemp protein. Super high in fiber and high in protein. Its a complete protein as well.
You mentioned the 7 deadly sins. Pride is one of them. What is your view on this as having pride and ego seems to be a positive thing, as often mentioned in bold and determined? Other than that what is your views on each of the 7 sins?
Great question. I was also hoping Victor would give his opinion on each of the 7 deadly sins.
What are your views on biohacking?
Hi Vic,
In the future at B&D or in the Podcasts I’d love to see some further discussion on online + offline privacy. I remember an article some time ago that had some decent tips. I am huge privacy geek who takes this stuff to an extreme level, but I’d like normal guys to have some tips that would help them possibly be more free in 10 years from now. Nobody knows how this surveillance will effect us, I am imagining a China social score system, etc.
Question for Podcast 8:
I know conspiracies and theories are time wasting, but what can we do about the general western trend? (Leftism, Etc.) Should we be learning to hunt, survive, possibly prepping supplies and canned goods? Should we accept that globalism is inevitable?
Thanks,
Levi
Questio : best way, and tips on how to be consistent?
Hi Victor,
Been following you since 2016 and love your work and no b.s approach.
What is your view on male pattern baldness in men? Do you think it’s heireditry or simply genetics? You mentioned in your last podcast that it’s almost impossible to avoid chemical estrogenic intake in the world around us and it’s getting worse. For the record I shaved my head at 38 (two years ago) to avoid the dreaded “comb back” best thing I ever did.
Thanks Steve (London)
Correction “heireditary and simply genetics” cheers
Steve
Hey Vic,
I went out with a girl I met on a bus and had plenty of fun talking with her.
The problem is I didn’t manage to get flirty with her,I pussied out.
How do I not pussy out on the next date?
P.S. I think it goes without saying that how much you help people ,including me, (being something like a father figure) is incredible and i felt like I had to thank you for it
Hey Victor,
The book you mentioned seems like a great read. You should check out Mind Programming and Gotcha! by Eldon Taylor. He goes beyond traditional methods of influence such as propaganda and discusses subliminal, radio frequencies, and more covert methods of brainwashing.
You have often mentioned Think and Grow Rich as one of your inspirations for success. I read that book when I was in my early 20s, and it had a profound impact on me as well. The book is big on affirmations, which I see as a way of re-programming your mind or reconnecting with your true self. The Ronins out there should look into the subliminals Eldon sells at Innertalk.com. If you’re serious about stepping up your mentality, having a motivational subliminal playing non-stop in your ear can be very helpful.
One Love,
Hey Francisco!
Thanks for sharing. I ordered those books and the book Victor recommended as well.
I was wondering what your experience is with those Eldon subliminals? Which ones have you used and
how do you think it helped you?
Thanks!
Hello Uncle Vic.,
I listened to a Podcast where you and Mike C. where talking about the online world and how you both found your way without falling for any scam, like online courses.
My question is :
1. Do you recommend buying online courses or is there a better way to learn and gain a skill? I have always wanted to learn copywriting as a proffesional skill but I have been reluctant to buy expert copywriting courses.
2. What’s your advice about doing doing freelancing work on upwork for a young man? I know about Damian and fiverr. But would you personally do it or not?
Hey vic,
Who do you think are the greatest poets of our time and why?
Hi Victor, when you came back to America did you notice an absence of normal people? 10 years ago it felt like a different universe compared to now. The lunatics, the freaks, and the weirdos have taken over.
Vic, you said that circumcision can cause psychological damage that the person doesn’t remember.
Do you think this is the reason so many men struggle with premature ejaculation, depression, and other so called mental problems?
Hey Vic,
Been a big fan of the blog since 2015.
I have recently started building an online fitness coaching business, and I accept that it will take at least one year before I am getting paid enough from this business to focus on it full time.
I’m still living at home with my parents though and it’s time to get out of here ASAP and be more independent. What would you recommend to someone in my position? I’ve heard you recommend freelancing but that’s essentially what I’m already working on with the fitness business and it does not seem wise to try building two businesses at the same time.
Since you’re not a fan of jobs I am wondering if you have another idea for paying my own way and having independence while I settle to the task of building my long term business.
Victor, I’ve been following your blog since 2012. I love these new episodes you do here is my question.
In the karma episode you mentioned something along the lines of western women are only good for two things, Pumping and dumping.
I would like to hear more into the “why” you think there only good for sex.
And how you deal with them
I ask because a lot of us are struggling with our addiction to them.
Hello, victor!
When do you read? Do you read in the morning? Or do you read before bedtime? Or do you set aside certain amount of time of day and read? I’ve got lots of interesting books to read(including Shadow Men on the list) but my day ends up not reading them. I wanna know your typical reading habit.
Thanks a lot always for great advices for youngsters like me who wanna know more, be more!
Taehun
Hey Vic,
What is your favorite memory as a child? I feel that during our childhoods our third eyes were open more and we were much more in the present moment. I am doing my best to get back to that state and curious on your thoughts on it.
Also, do you ever swim as a form of exercise?
Till Next Time,
Thanks for the answer.
Do you own firearms at home? Do you have a fixed habitation?
Thanks, Victor for all the good ideas!
Two questions for yourself (and whomever else may want to answer) -
1. Do you have any specific sources/resources about climate change that you recommend?
2. Do you have any specific sources/resources about stretching that you recommend?
Thanks!
I am a bit confused. Not to hurt your baby is a good behavior. I thought you have to be evil to be successful. You said that. I mean most successful people are evil. Clinton, Obama, Trump, Bush, Bill Gates, Rothschild. They all are evil and they are even pedophile.
BTW this is not hate against you or something. I‘m only surprised.
He never said that
https://boldanddeterminedarchive.com/be-a-bad-guy/
How do you define successful? These people aren´t successful in my eyes. They´re also slaves.
What do you think about sexual diseases? Are they real or a scam for population control? Especially AIDS.
Hey Uncle Vic,
What’s your opinion on Colloidal/Liquid Silver and Turpentine as an health alternative. Big pharma says it’s bad but the little guys says it’s good. I’d like to hear your opinion on it since I take your word to a higher regard.
Do you season your meat with anything when you sear it?
Hey Vic,
What are your thoughts on showers and baths? When taking a shower, should you use only cold water all year? Is lounging in the bath like Winston Churchill alright for one’s mental well being and physical, or do these hurt one, physically or not?
Hello Victor, I completely agree with your illuminating analysis of karma as causality.
My thoughts on karma are as follows: Our fate should be a product of our own agency, our freedom of will to create our future, as a man of vision, or to allow others to create our future for us. You are correct to produce a completely material understanding of sin as karma. This causal model of morality is helpfully expanded by the theory of evolution, which analyses cause and effect over the long time period of reproductive success. Our modern world has lost the vision of cumulative adaptation, the central moral theme of evolution, that we gradually build upon what works, and are gradually destroyed by what does not work. That is karmic causality, reaping what you sow, living with consequences of decisions.
You should read the new book Atomic Habits by James Clear, which accords with your philosophy.
Glad to hear your view on global warming and link to shadow politics. My view, which I hope will make sense to you Victor, is that the PC idea of cutting our CO2 emissions is wrong because it has the covert enslaving agenda of increasing the intrusion and power of the state over our freedom. However, it is actually the case that global warming is real and bad, and another method to stop it is possible, carbon mining. The air can be viewed as a very low grade ore body. It is actually possible to profitably mine carbon from the air using the space, energy and nutrients of the world ocean, in ways that protect ecology while also protecting human freedom. The PC forces reject the concept of carbon removal/mining because their main agenda, via emission reduction, is to reorganise the world economy on socialist lines.
Hi Victor, I want to start a blog under my own name and start creating content. My only issue is that I have several divergent topics I want to write about. Everything ranging from self development to drawing and creativity. I am afraid that the site will be too scattered in content, leaving the audience with a mixed message or signal. What are your thoughts on this? Cheers.
Hi Victor!
I have a question for the next podcast:
How to stop protein farts? I eat low processed foods only but I seem to always be ripping ass in the gym. Kind of helps cause no one bothers me when I’m lifting that way but nonetheless I’m interested in stopping it. Is it as simple as eating slower and chewing food more?
Thanks
Bruh I got you,
Don’t eat any oats. Don’t even look at an oat.
Remember the song fruits make you toot? Don’t eat bananas.
I know they are commonly listen bodybuilding foods but skip em.
Now: Eat steaks and beef. Nothing else for a week, ok you can mix it up with fish and chicken but try it for a week with no dairy and then reintroduce eggs, cheeses, milk (only raw, if not do low sugar yogurt or kefir).
What´s wrong with oats?
Vic,
When’s Red-PCT coming back? Waiting on Red Growth for it.
Best,
-Nikhil
Red-PCT 2.0 will be dropping soon. Stay tuned.
Hey Vic, what advice can you give a man who has a great vision for the future and a clear picture about himself in a few years but he doesn´t know which path I should follow. There are a lot of ways which could lead him to his goal. You´ve changed his life and his thoughts about the world and he also learned to follow his gut. He´s pretty young and he knows that he has to do this thing alone. He believes that only he can do this thing and only he is able to reach it properly.
His worst fear is to not to reach this goal.
Do you have a particular place or website that you buy raw milk from? It is illegal in my state for some reason.
Victor, can you give more dating advice.
You wrote a post about the alpha wolf and the beta guy and said there was a part 2 coming. But I can’t find part 2.
Can you write a guide to dating.
Cheers
Hey Vic,
Really love your content.
I’ve been running my blog for over 2 years now and have over 200 email subscribers.
I’ve been in Texas up until now and was getting tired of it so the thirst for adventure compelled me to book a plane ticket to Thailand and I am now leaving Tuesday for Chiang Mai!
My plan is to secure a remote day job while I’m there. (Yes, I know it was quite impulsive to move there without securing income first but a couple thousand should keep me afloat while I search for an opportunity).
My blog isn’t making me steady cash yet so my question is:
I’ve only been coming out with content seriously (3+ articles a week on average for about 3-4 months) and am ramping up traffic. I have come out with 100+ articles by now and am starting to really develop a love for writing and am even thinking of coming out with books, and maybe even branching off into movies and other forms of art in the future.
What would you recommend I do in order to take my blog to the next level while I’m there?
Keep creating and don’t stop.
Hi Vic,
I listened to your talk about giving up the coffee, to remove the anger and anxiety in my life. I immediately find that this works. However, I’m having a difficult time avoiding it on a daily basis. Any tips I can do to make it a permanent change ? thanks
Victor, I have two unrelated questions.
1. what is the plugin you use to make the sign up form on the top right hand side of your blog as part of the WIN image. The same with the image below each post “Did you like this post … join millions” where people can sign up directly from the image.
2. I think I speak for a lot of guys with this question, so your detailed answer would really be helpful. After I read your posts about never masturbate again and why you should quit viewing porn, I’m motivated and I stop. But after about a week, the thoughts hit me like a flood. The images in my mind start tempting me and I find myself going back to both.
My question is — it sounds like you’ve really kicked the habit for good (how long ago, I’d love to know). But for us who still struggle with the thoughts and temptations of the mind, what do you do when those thoughts start filling your head, especially in the morning and late at night? What’s the remedy for this? The attack strategy. I think if you give us some practical suggestions that have worked in your own life, strategies, etc. it will set many of us free from a habit we’ve had for many years and have failed to break at this point. Just saying to stop it because of the benefits isn’t enough for me and I assume many others. Thank you in advance!
The answer to question #1 is Thrive.
Hi Vic,
Just informing you that the title of your blog on homepage have spelling mistake.
Bold and Detemined - Get Up Off Your Ass, Enjoy Your life and Get Out of the 9-5 Jive forever.
change Jive to Live.
Jive is American Slang meaning “routine”.
haha :p my bad. Didn’t knew that.
Squatting in the woods is the best, if you can find a place to hide. I will usually squat in front of a small tree. I grab hold of the tree with my arms extended in a squat position. This allows me to get my feet a further forward. Then you don’t have to worry about crapping on your pants.
Victor,
You advocate eating a grass fed natural animals and an all carnivore diet.
However, you also advise lowering expenses as low as possible.
I am continuing on my entrepreneurial journey and will be leaving my current contract position in 5 months and would like to live low cost.
Grass Fed RibEye usually runs $10-$13 per meal. How do you personally strike the balance between saving and eating the natural human diet.
When we speak about addictions, why do we not count sex?
Most men, after a certain period without sexual activity, will get so horny and agitated that they will be unable to perform any activities until they obtain sexual release.
Sexual addiction is, in my opinion, the single biggest addiction in the world. Not just porn-induced addiction, but even normal sexual desire. And sex is better than masturbation, but it’s still an addiction. It’s the secret addiction that nearly 100% of men suffer from.
If a “regular” man can’t go a few months without sex, and becomes unable to focus unless he has a release, isn’t he addicted? I’d say he’s addicted very badly. And unlike drugs, sex wastes your greatest energy and spills it into a piece of flesh (a woman).
How many men do you know who have the mental resilience to not need sex? I haven’t met any. All of them, no matter what their control level is, will succumb and seek release at one point or another.
Your thoughts, Vic?
How will man go without food?
Victor,
How come no books in Christianity were written by Yeshua himself. Only by his followers.
How come this is never discussed, isn’t it possible that his followers perverted his work.
My understanding is that Yeshua came to break us free of organized religion.
Also how come no one questions that the largest influence in the early church was “Paul” who’s name was changed from “Saul”. He wrote many New Testament books, but before he became a Christian he was the largest Mass Murderers of Christians.
It amazes me that these incongruities are never discussed in modern Christianity.
The standard Christian response is that he was forgiven by the grace of God, as Christ’s death (Yeshua’s) killed “Satan” and set the world free of “Sin”.
If Christians truly believed this doctrine, they would not need to go to confession weekly. They would no longer feel guilty and continually pressure other Christians to go to church weekly.
They would be free to live life on there terms.
Why don’t Christians admit that the weekly Sunday gatherings are Social/Spiritual gatherings designed to benefit those who attend.
Why don’t they encourage there “congregation” to decide if these weekly meetings are benefiting them, and if so donate financially, rather than using high pressure, “master persuasion” techniques to get financial support.
How come none of these issues come up for discussion —
1. How come they preach no sex until marriage, but do not encourage marriage at a young age, as we know young men in there 20’s need sex to live a healthy life.
2. How come the people with the worst histories are given a platform and raised up.
3. How come they don’t preach and tell women to sleep with there husbands and how good it is for the males.
4. How come they reject the teachings that Women should not be leaders in the church and only men should be leaders, but are unwilling to change on more important issues.
I was raised in the church and it has a soft spot in my heart. Im not asking your opinion on any matter specifically. But I do wonder your thoughts as you seem to have good insight into the world and I would like to hear your response.
Vic, what do you think about occasionally eating fats in the form of nuts and avocados?
What are some good skills that a man can become an expert in, that he can then use to make a lot of money? Particularly for someone starting out at 19 years old with a few grand saved.
Morning Victor, thanks for the response!
Glad to see you’re still looking up at the cosmos as well. Just last night I sat outside and stared at the nearing full moon. Maybe I’ll let out a howl tomorrow night.
This week, I’d like to get a little more personal… What’s the biggest mistake you’ve ever made? Why did you make it? And how did you resolve it?
Looking forward to this week’s podcast.
Strength & Honor,
Nick
You’ve said that in 1 month you were a good guitar player. How’d you do this? I understand you have to get obsessed to get good at something but did you have a teacher? did you watch youtube tutorials? Did you learn for books? Please elaborate.
Also do you record these podcasts the day of or in advance?
My favorite Bukowski poem -Spark
I always resented all the years, the hours, the
minutes I gave them as a working stiff, it
actually hurt my head, my insides, it made me
dizzy and a bit crazy — I couldn’t understand the
murdering of my years
yet my fellow workers gave no signs of
agony, many of them even seemed satisfied, and
seeing them that way drove me almost as crazy as
the dull and senseless work.
the workers submitted.
the work pounded them to nothingness, they were
scooped-out and thrown away.
I resented each minute, every minute as it was
mutilated
and nothing relieved the monotonous ever-
structure.
I considered suicide.
I drank away my few leisure hours.
I worked for decades.
I lived with the worst of women, they killed what
the job failed to kill.
I knew that I was dying.
something in me said, go ahead, die, sleep, become
them, accept.
then something else in me said, no, save the tiniest
bit.
it needn’t be much, just a spark.
a spark can set a whole forest on
fire.
just a spark.
save it.
I think I did.
I’m glad I did.
what a lucky god damned
thing.
